Well I think it's time for a review been here twice first time I tried their Fresh Chicharon this should be everyone's go to place for it. one bag is 7.00. I used it to make a Filipino veggie dish called Pinakbet. their chicharon is crispy a yummy if you dip it in garlic and vinegar. The 2nd time I went in to try their longanisa sausage I really love the flavor of their sausage, the only thing is that when I cooked it it fell apart. Don't know why it didn't keep it's shape? It could be the casing that they use? but other than that it's still yummy in my book. Oh I'd call first to see if they have chicharon sometime they run out. Also be aware the place is small. They also have a selection of assorted desserts and food to go witch I will try next time. I also think they have party trays available as well. So I am glad I went in a gave it a try and think that you should as well if you are in the Miplitas /San Jose area. read more

When this was a dessert plus, the staff were friendly and had good customer service skills. But now, the customer service sucks. I had to ask for the condiments that supposedly comes with what I bought. For instance, the latik for suman, the vinegar for the chicharon or ukoy. Everyone adores Ima's Kusina. I ordered two lumpia trays in two days. One 25 piece lumpia (they are vegetarian here and contain red cabbage, cabbage, bean sprouts, carrot, and onion) tray for $27 and one 25 piece lumpia Shanghai tray for $19. The lumpia Shanghai are thin and long (roughly 11" or four times the length of regular lumpia Shanghai), so they're a good value. read more

Everyone's friendly and helpful. You'll feel like home. I like how they have the cooked food there now oh and the selections are not what you usually see at the other filipino fast food or restaurants. I like the turon as well. It's not sugared down. Late review Very Disappointed. Have been coming here for years since it was desert plus. Turon is always the highlight desert at our parties but just not this time around. Valentine's Day we had the pleasure of celebrating my son's bday so I ordered turon party tray. Normally when order I ask if they can cut it in half which has never been an issue this time around the girl helping me said that she has to charge me a dollar so I agreed even though I could've done it I didn't have the time to do it so I agreed charge me for it. Didn't bother to check and didn't notice until we were serving dinner by then the store was closed and I couldn't notify them that they didn't even cut the Turon and that the bananas inside weren't ripe. Came in two days after and I spoke to the same girl who apologized but said all she can do is give me a refund for the dollar The bananas inside weren't good to eat so we had to toss them it was a waste of time and money. read more

I use to come to my best friend's house for dinner weekly and this place is the closest thing I have to our sweet childhood memories. Everything here is made with love. The lumpia is fresh and crispy and comes out hot. My favorite will always be the chicken adobo - it just hits home. Sticky rice has not preservative unlike other places - it's vibrate and all natural and still retains its perfect texture. Highly recommend ordering the Pancit for a bit family dinner, my kids enjoy it so much they'll ask for it weekly. 11/10 :) read more

I like this place for desserts item but today I caught the lady that works in the kitchen not wearing gloves. I told the person at the cashier and instead of acknowledging the mistake, he ignored my comment and argued with me. i love the turon here!!! it's crispy, light, and not overly sweetened. i also enjoyed the cassava mini cakes. to me, they are much better than the larger one because you get more carmelized edges. kinda like mini brownie edges vs one large brownie pan. i would definitely return to try their savory entrees next time. read more

Went in a few days ago around 11am-ish hoping to get some putos. One of the workers came out from the kitchen and didn't greet me, but gave me a look as if non filipinos weren't allowed to buy their products. A simple nod or "hello" would've been nice. Went next door to valerio's instead where they had more on display. Not so much better, but atleast the worker didn't give me a look and ignored me. This place is awesome for authentic, fresh filipino desserts and comfort foods. I do come here exclusively for the Suman though. It's hard to come across good, fresh Suman and this place makes the best in Silicon Valley my opinion. My Mom from Arizona always ask me to get her the Suman from here whenever she comes into town. I was here for the 1st time this morning at 10:15am and bought a few items. Wanted to buy more actually but the cashier who handled my transaction was BEYOND RUDE! I am the customer from heaven - polite and all --but this cashier seemed generally grumpy, cantankerous & annoyed with my questions. Minutes later, I think it was the owner who was behind the counter but attending to another customer. He was very amiable and I wanted so badly to tell him that the the lady beside him had terrible customer service. To the owner, I hope you are reading this. Please teach your staff customer service. I wasn't asking for the moon. I was simply asking her what certain dishes were behind the counter. She answered "lengua" like she was being tormented.
