My first time at a Korean spa and it was here at Immersion. I didn't know what to expect but I arrived early an hour before my appointment. The lady in the calvin Klein sweater at the register was extremely rude and her attitude was unnecessary. She gave us towels and pointed towards the lockers and I had to ask again, if there's anything we should be aware of because this is our first time here. With her stinky attitude, she said I already told you. I hope she is not employed here long because she's obviously not happy working here. What a disappointing check in for a Pure Bliss Plus treatment for $170. We walk into the women's lockers. Placed or shoes into the rack and took a robe. Went to our assigned lockers and undressed. Everyone is basically naked. There is a salt room, dressing area, hot tub, cold dip pool, sauna and steam room. I spent a good 10 minutes reading the instructions on the wall and really didn't know what I was in for. Then Monica called my number. This is when the magic happened. We went to our assigned shower table, undressed. This isn't a place to be modest. You start face down and they throw the hot water on your back and begin the scrubbing. I felt my dead skin cells and my former life scrubbed away. Every nook and cranny she was diligently scrubbing the demons out of me. Then you flip over, spread eagle at times, and more demon scrubbing. It was like a life changing experience with both pain and relaxation at the same time. I had seen my dead skin cells and now fully disgusted about how I thought I was clean when I wasn't. Pure Bliss Treatment included a thorough scrub, mud face mask, and hair wash, and milk treatment at the end. I felt like a brand new person who didn't know my own name. So 4 stars on the treatment but minus 1 star for stinky attitude faced receptionist. read more

From the beginning of discovering this spa. I had originally given the spa a (4) stars. Yet after the last few experiences, the spa has shifted to a bathhouse for sexual perversion not appropriate for public spaces. I'm not a prude and do believe in safe spaces for such things to occur. Yet it's extremely uncomfortable to come to place to relax from the weeks works stress only to stumble upon men doing things I'm not allowed to share on this review. I'm embarrassed to have recommended this place to coworker and friends only to hear them report back that they were sexually advanced on or walked into *rg*. When I called to book an appointment, the person on the phone was immediately rude upon hearing that I had a gift card. She insisted that I provide my credit card information, even though I was paying with the gift card. When I questioned why this was necessary, she became even more unpleasant. After reading other reviews, it became clear why they are so insistent about getting credit card details. Something definitely seems off about their policies. Spa Experience Feedback: Overall, I had a pleasant experience at the spa. The reception staff was welcoming, and although the space is relatively small, they've done a great job making room for a variety of amenities, including a steam room, sauna, salt room, and massage area. However, one concern that stood out to me was being asked to remove my flip-flops and walk barefoot throughout the facility--including the restroom and shower areas. While I understand the intent may be to maintain cleanliness, walking barefoot in shared wet areas raises serious hygiene concerns. Exposure to communal surfaces without footwear can potentially lead to a range of infections and conditions, such as: * Athlete's foot (tinea pedis) - a fungal infection common in damp environments * Plantar warts - caused by HPV, often contracted in communal showers * Toenail fungus - can spread in moist, barefoot areas * Bacterial infections - especially if there are any open cuts or skin irritation I genuinely want to return because the service and ambiance were otherwise great, but I'd feel much more comfortable if there was an option to wear clean spa-provided slippers or protective foot coverings. read more

During my massage, I could clearly hear people talking and making noise in the jacuzzi area. Definetly not a very fancy but at the same time it's very relaxing. I HIGHLY recommend Lee for their Silky Scrub Plus (55 mins, $130). The time is evenly split between a scrub and massage. Lee really made the experience amazing since she was incredibly kind, thorough, and made the whole experience feel rejuvenating and well worth it. The parking is very easy and they have a sauna, steam room, salt room, Jacuzzi, and even an ice bath, all great for unwinding. It's not fancy or bougie, but everything is fairly clean and functional. The showers are communal and not very private, and there are limited toiletries available, so come prepared. Overall, it's definitely a calming space with convenient hours and a fair price point. Not a relaxing environment! Read the reviews before choosing to go here. And everyone is naked but they do a good job about communicating that. So many questionable things happened during my time at this spa. You have to take your shoes off as soon as you enter. There not much room to do it and they don't give you slippers. Talk about a fall risk. The lockers and some amenities were decent. It's nice that they have lotion, shower stuff, blow dryers and water. But it's weird that they ask you to write your name on your water to conserve when they waste so much water on the body scrubs. I'll get to that. The jacuzzi area is so bright, not relaxing at all. And the water was not very hot. The steam room and salt room was nice. The steam room was not overwhelming and it had a nice eucalyptus smell. The scrub and massage seemed so unprofessional. The rooms are not private! You walk behind a curtain but all the rooms are open and only divided by a partial wall. There's no door and the rooms are bright. For the scrub I was on a table in the weirdest positions, butt facing the open hallway, while she scrubbed everywhere. The scrub was nice but very awkward. Nothing was covered minus the brief moment she threw, yes threw, a small hand towel on me. Then she took a bucket and collected water from a garbage can and threw it on me to rinse off the dead skin. All the money we pay and they use a garbage can and throw buckets of water. The massage was not relaxing. It was bright and there was no music or nice scents. Instead I could hear talking and people walking through the hallway. I was not asked about focus areas. And I wasn't told to move when needed, instead I was tapped when I was requested to move. They also don't have towels in the locker area so you have to ask whenever you need one. While they have signs to be quiet no one was. People were taking selfies and talking loudly. Because everything is open, including the showers you hear everything. Definitely not the place to go to relax. But if you just want to enjoy the steam room and salt room than it's OK. read more

Well.. I love a good Korean spa. This one is great and closer than the one I have tried in San Francisco. As soon as you get in, there's an area to leave your shoes, you get lockers to keep all your stuff and a robe to wear inside. There are hot tubs, dry sauna and steam room along with a ice cold pool. They also have tea and water to drink. It is a good idea to get there early so you have enough time to soak and use the sauna/steam room. This helps open up your pores for the scrub. They also have a salt room you can use after your services. You can also soak in the ice cold pool. They have pretty good products for moisturizer/cleanser as well. The service we chose was the Silky wrap - Gold Ginseng which included a fully body scrub with a ginseng body wrap and 24k gold face mask. It was a great experience and I do recommend trying different services out. read more

Spent the afternoon with the spa pass to relax and destress. It was my first time at a Korean spa and the ladies at the front desk were very helpful. One of them explained that it was a nude spa and gave me a few pointers as to what order to use the facilities. I only did a couple rotations, but I enjoyed my time at the hot tub, ice bath, steam room, and dry sauna. The salt room in the ladies section was, for me, surprisingly the most relaxing facility there. There's some self-serve unsweetened tea and complimentary Aveda bodywash, shampoo, and some skincare. I will say that the main area was a smaller than I expected. For my comfort, the hot tub seems to fit 5-6 people. I went on a Saturday and managed to get around just fine. The steam room seemed to be the most popular, so do expect it to be packed. Overall, I really enjoyed my time here and would come back. Booked a couples massage, and used the spa area for an hour beforehand. I walked into the steam room, and there were two men in the corner engaged in blatant sexual activity. Not even discreet. The other people in the steam room were ignoring it or acting like it was normal. Then I realized I was in a gay cruising spot. The massage was good, but I don't care what your sexual preferences are, a shared space where people are paying to relax is not the place to engage in them. I have been going here monthly for almost 2 years! This is a small but mighty korean spa. My usual go to is the executive, I get a 25 min body scrub and a fusion massage. The masseuse I see is Kim they very strong and great if you like ALOT of pressure. The facilities are clean and the front desk staff is usually very accommodating but do not expect 5 star customer service and remember bring cash only for a tip! Only issues I have is the hot tub controller is on the other side of the spa. So you have to get up walk all the way across the spa to get more bubbles. Other than that I will keep going read more

My 2nd time here. Clean place Had the Silky Scrub plus the first time, 25 min scrub and 25 mins massage. That was good. This time my daughter and I had the executive 25 min scrub, 55 mins massage. Scrub was good but 55 min massage was just okay but not worth the price. Will stick to the Silky Scrub plus. Enjoyed the amenities and staff in the front very nice and friendly. This was the weirdest and most unpleasant spa experience I've ever had. I walked in on-time for my scrub and massage appointment, and they didn't tell me they were running late. I waited on a locker room bench in a small room of naked folks for over a half hour before getting my services. They finally call me in (and at this point, everyone in the locker room just thinks I'm awkward creep sitting there for so long) and there's no apology or acknowledgment of tardiness. I go into the massage room and de-robe, and then they tell me to get back up, get re-dressed and go to a different room for the scrub. I get to the scrub room and it's literally like a public pool's janitor closet. She asks me to lay down on a metal table (like the ones in the hospital), and throws hot water all over me that she got out of a trash can. No joke - a legitimate big gray trash can like the ones on the street! She rushes me the whole time, instructing orders like I'm in the military. There's no towel coverage, and they scrub literally everywhere (and I mean everywhere). There's no consideration of boundaries or asking if you're comfortable. The scrubing was rough, and I swear they put Dial body wash all over me at the end. I get to the massage after, and it's okay, but again, no asking of any areas you'd like to work on, pain points, etc. The door is open and it's just a naked free for all. You also don't get that minute after your massage to slowly put your robe back on, and as soon as it's over, she's standing right on top of you with a robe and rushing you out. Afterwards, I tried to use the facilities but the sauna was barely hot. I didn't even need to cool down like you typically do. I then go to take a shower, and it's public shower style and you have to press a button the whole time for water. Not exactly the most relaxing shower, and they didn't provide any extra towels or anything. Also people are just chatting and laughing in there so hard - it's just not relaxing. And there's nowhere to sit and chill or cool off after being heated in the rooms. Then you go to check out, and they demand the tips be in cash, and if you don't have it, you have to use an ATM and divide up your loot into separate envelopes for the tip. The whole experience was just really disappointing. Customer service felt like a non-existent value here. The best part was honestly the check in, but it was very brief with no explanation of anything. I'll say a $40 day pass for a sauna is a great deal, but it's just not worth it if you're looking for a true calming spa environment. Things to note: everyone's naked everywhere and there's zero privacy (which I'm okay with the nakedness but the lack of consideration or boundaries is a bit surprising). Also the facilities are split up by gender, so maybe not great for a date night. The facilities were clean, I'll give them that. Steam room was the best part. Hot tub was too packed to enter. Sorry for the lower review, but I just can't believe I spent well over $200 for this. Hope y'all can improve on some of these areas. read more

This is a fantastic spa if you have the right expectations. I got a scrub and massage package that was wonderful. This is was not my first time at a Korean-style spa/bath house so I'm comfortable with the no-clothing rule. The scrub is invigorating and beneficial. My skin from neck-to-toe is baby-soft after an intense exfoliating process. Take note that it's rather abrasive so the experience is not exactly comfortable and can be mildly painful if you have sensitive skin. The massage was pure bliss. I find that the techniques used are much more tension-relieving than typical western-style massages. I also liked the massage oil that was used, it smelled like toasted coconut. Arrive at least 30 minutes early to enjoy the amenities before your services. Tea and water is provided. There's a jacuzzi, cold plunge pool, sauna, steam room, and salt room. Note that use of the jacuzzi and pool are not allowed after scrub treatments, so it's best to come early to be able to make the most of them if you're getting a scrub. The steam room is wonderful to use post-massage to further melt away the tension in your muscles. The salt room is a dimly lit, heated room with mats that you can lay on to relax. I actually fell asleep in the salt room, thankfully I'd set a timer on my watch otherwise I probably would have been passed out for hours (which is unsafe due to the heat). The front desk is efficient and to-the-point. The service providers are very friendly and you can tell that they put effort into making their clients happy. I really love that this spa is for both men and women. The ones that I've typically gone to are exclusively for women and I was happy that my husband was able to enjoy these services along with me (though separately). This was his first Korean bath house experience and he thought it was amazing. We've decided that we have to go at least a few times each year. read more

This is my go to when I need to relax. I've tried the wet room body scrub and deep tissue massage here and I realized that the body scrub isn't for me. So far the massage therapist I've had has been amazing. She knows the pressure points and the style reminds me a bit of Thai massage. She walked on my back and cracked it. You can tell when a massage therapist is good when they don't need to ask you about how the pressure is and it's just the right amount not too much where it's not enjoyable and not too light where you can't work out the knots. I don't want to give her name otherwise she will get booked up, but your experience also depends on the quality of massage and not just the amenities. I love the Aveda products. I wish they had face masks products here. I brought my own pumpkin mask to use before the steam room. My favorite is the jacuzzi and steam room. I could stay there all day. This is my heaven when I'm stressed out. I don't like coming here when it's crowded. I'll be back... if only I could afford this a weekly treat to myself... read more

This is not your typical fluffy, bougie spa... but I think it's pretty great. Love that they have a jacuzzi and sauna (and a cold plunge if you're in to that!) Loved that they provide simple, thin robes- and basic amenities (shampoo, conditioner, body wash for either a standing shower, or a sitting shower! (I've never seen that before- I think it is a Korean touch) The price is just a little too high for me to be able to come more often, but the massage was heavenly! I did the one hour Swedish massage (I'm a little bit of a baby and don't enjoy deeper more painful massages). The Korean body scrubs piqued my interest, but I will have to come back for one of those. The therapist (Kelly) asked me twice during the massage if I was comfortable with the pressure- I appreciate therapists that do that, because we all know what it's like to suffer in silence because somehow the cat got our tongue! Mom and I have been going to Immersion Spa for a little over two years now. Yes, we caught on late to the bathhouse trend and we didn't know what to expect at our first Korean spa visit, but now we are addicted. Located in a small shopping center on El Camino, free parking is available for patrons. Immersion offers gender-segregated areas with amenities such as a Hot jacuzzi and ice plunge pool, Eucalyptus infused steam sauna, Herbally infused dry sauna, and Himalayan Salt Room for women and Jade Room for men. Upon entry, receptionists greet you at the front desk. The lobby is small, housing several shelves of spa products for sale, including the tea that they serve in the changing area, as well as an ATM machine in the corner on the men's side of the spa. Checking in 30 minutes prior to service is required as you need time to pay, strip down and put your belongings in your locker, shower (you must wash before getting in the tubs), and soak for a minimum of 15 minutes in their jet spa or steam room, which is a requirement prior to a body scrub. After paying your fee, you are given towels and a key for the locker where you will be placing your clothes and belongings. Once you enter the spa side, you immediately remove your shoes and grab a robe. During our first visit on Saturday, July 31, 2021, we noticed that the hot tub needed a good cleaning as we saw areas on the top rim of the jacuzzi wall with mold, gross! Thankfully, we haven't seen such dirtiness again, but some of the hair and body dispensers in the women's showers need to be repaired or replaced. On our first visit, I opted for the Goddess Lavender BODY TREATMENT - Start off with a Korean Body Scrub, a truly unique experience during which you are lying fully naked (ok, you have a folded hand towel over your eyes and private part) on a vinyl-covered massage table while warm water is splashed on you and your body is vigorously scrubbed from head to toe by an elderly Korean female therapist until every last dead skin cell has been washed away. Attendants gently direct you during the scrub, lifting your arms and legs as necessary to get into every area that requires exfoliating. A few bucket tosses to wash away your pencil eraser shaving looking dead skin and what's left is a shiny new you. A Refined Organic Coconut Oil Body Moisturizing Massage follows, wringing out the knots in your back, neck, and legs. Hurts so good, if you ask me. A cooling Collagen Face Mask is applied to your face + Shampoo washing of your hair. Super relaxed during the Lavender Body Wrap, I fell asleep for a bit. Treatment is finished off with a Warm milk rinse which is very nice. For our subsequent visits, we have been going for the Pure Bliss Plus, which is the same spa treatment as the Goddess sans the body wrap. I have heard of Korean spas having full restaurants inside and lounging areas to nap in for a blissful full day of steam, sauna, eat, and nap. Immersion is not that kind of full-service spa, but their prices are still generally cheaper than their western counterpoints. Since coming here, western massages don't excite me as much anymore. The Korean body scrub just adds another level to the wellness treatment and I will look for it every time now. Service from the female spa therapists is always great. Sometimes, though, a front desk girl can throw a snotty attitude. Mom and I are now Immersion Spa regulars and I don't see that changing anytime soon. We try to visit on an every other month basis. Nothing fancy here but the scrubbing experience is good. For the amenities, I felt like the price is a bit high, but hey, you are in Palo Alto, what's not expensive here? I got a scrub with wrap and they wash your hair for you. There's very basic spa items here although they do use aveda products. The staff here is mostly very friendly. The technician that did the scrub for me seems very unhappy, but she seems professional. I didn't see any sexual advances or inappropriate activities in the women's section, unlike what other yelpers said about the men's section. The salt room was my favorite. The jacuzzi can use some upgrades. There's not alot of privacy here as the scrub service is performed with just a small divider in between scrubbing stations. You get a small towel to cover your eyes but this place is bright! I wish they can dim the lights during this process, but I get that the technicians need to see. The prices were pretty good, around the same as other massage/spas. First thing first, if you book a scrub, be prepared to be completely naked. Also, if you use the amenities, be prepared to be naked as well. When we arrived, the lady at the counter was very nice. We both went our separate ways since it's not co-ed. The men's locker room was fairly clean. You take off your shoes once you enter, and go to your locker. There's robes and fresh towels on the shelf. It wasn't fulled stocked though. It's recommend you take a shower/rinse before your massage. The showers were out in the open. The jacuzzi, cold plunge were right under the sun, few chairs to sit on. There's a dry and wet sauna as well. The massages were pretty good. My massage lady was gentle and attentive. 55 minutes go by really quick when you're relaxed. She didn't really ask about pressure or any specific spots I wanted her to focus on. But overall, she was good and very nice. Overall, the experience was okay. This place is definitely worth a visit if you want to relax - it's a clean place and the staff have been really nice to me. I really enjoyed sitting in the hot tub for about 15 min before my session and then using the jade room after my scrub or massage. The steam room is a bit too hot for me but I liked the jade room and hot sauna a lot, and even took a nap in the jade room twice. They also have a lot of free hair and lotion products you can use. Just be prepared, most of the services are done in the nude so if you go with a friend, you'll need to see them bare!! First time at Immersion Spa and for a Friday afternoon at 2:10 pm it wasn't too crowded and busy. If you've been to Korean Spas in So Cal then you know what to expect here. But the space is definitely a lot smaller than any spa compared to down south. Women's and men's locker rooms are separate and no common area for both to enjoy. Upon entering, you'll be greeted by the front staff and you'll purchase a day pass and they do have other services like body scrub/massages. Go into the locker room and take your shoes/socks off. They'll give you a wrist key with a number on it and that will be your locker to use. They give you a medium and small towel to use. There are small towels as well inside and robes. They have a jade room where you can relax in, the floor is heated so it's nice to lay down. The inside only have 3-4 showers and the water is on a timer so only runs for about 10 seconds which is kinda annoying. They have steam, sauna rooms, hot tub and a cold tub. Facility is clean and there are staff around collecting used towels. Bare minimum in amenities. Given the price for a day pass and the amenities, I would not frequent on a regular basis. $40 day pass for entry The parking lot is small and shared with other businesses in the plaza. read more
