I am so irritated and PO at this place that I will never come back here. Stopped by to order a party tray of noodles only to be told they don't do trays so we decided to order a few orders enough to feed 10-12 people. The cost $60, which I think we got screwed. We even paid them up front because we needed the food to be ready ON time because we had to be some where. We got there 15 minutes early so we were fine waiting. The noodles weren't ready for 25 minutes after the promised time. They never offered a reason, an apology or a refund. NEVER F-ING again. read more

Service was good but food quality was mediocre. We ordered the group meal for 3. Quantity was very good as we had leftovers to take home. But taste was just ok. Have not been here for several years and decided to try it again. Many Asian customers is a good sign for a Chinese restaurant but we found the taste was not as good as on the past. Be very careful of this place! My 15 year old daughter and her 2 friends went there for lunch yesterday. It was all good until they went to pay! They had paid their bill only to find out the waitress had shorted them $4.00 on the change, when they asked why they were short $4.00 the lady replied "I kept my tip" this is exactly what she told my daughter! Now one of my daughter's friends dad picked them up and heard the story, so he went in to talk with the waitress, that was sitting eating lunch. He asked to speak to the manager, to which she replied "I am the manager" so he explained to her she can not just take her tip out of someones change. She replied "hold on" and took another bite of her meal and said something in Chinese to the people at her table. Then walked off and got a guy that came out and said " I'm the manager" The guy apologized for his employee's BAD judgement in trying to cheat 3 young ladies out of money! I'm sure this waitress would never try to do this to adults! It's just a shame! We will never go there again! read more

Horrible customer service. I was gonna order food for dinner last Friday. I didn't have the menu with me, so I didn't know which dish was in the special menu. When I asked her if the dish i wanted was a special item, she basically yelled at me for not knowing their menu. Wtf! I ended up order from another place. I've eaten Chinese food all over the Bay Area and it's funny that two places in San Ramon beat out San Jose. 3 Brothers and Imperial Delight. Both places offer Excellent food and we found the 2 person special for $30 was overwhelming amount of food. We took a lot to go. I used to come here often at lunch with co-workers. It was like an unending cycle with our desire to use the 10% receipt/coupon every week. Each person had their usual dish and mine was "eggplant with pork, but no pork". Seriously, I had to order it that way otherwise they would add the pork. I'm no vegetarian, but I don't like the strips of pork they use. However, I did notice that the sauce is more flavorful if the pork is added. I've also been here for dinner a few times, and I like their Americanized menu. One time I was able to order the house tofu off the special Chinese menu, but decided I wasn't fond of the thick brown sauce that comes with it. Depending on who your server is, they can be mean about translating the Chinese menu. Excuse me if I'm not Chinese and want more authentic food! read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I called in for take out at 7:13pm. I finally got my food at 8:12pm. On the phone, I was told it would take 20 minutes, which means I ended up sitting at the restaurant for 40 minutes waiting for two boxes of take out food. When I inquired how much longer it would take, I was told to go in and talk to the chef myself. I don't care how good the food is (and in fact it's just mediocre), this customer service is absolutely unacceptable. Not again. read more

The Best thing about this place is that they deliver. The 2nd best thing is their fried rice, nice and fluffy just the way I like it. We ordered Sesame Chicken, Veggie Egg-rolls, Chicken Fried Rice and 2 diet cokes and got em delivered to our house! Well worth the $30. read more

My go-to place for acceptably authentic Canto food in the Canto-food-deprived neighborhood of San Ramon. Food is tasty and filling, perhaps a bit on the greasy side, but adjustments can be requested. They've got sweet-n-sour pork and lemon chicken for all you twinkies, as well as Shanghai 'nian gao' and other dishes of which the English names I do not know for the more cultured eaters. 3 dishes for 21 bucks is a nice deal if u can read Chinese. Decor is traditional and cozy. Service is also stellar for an Asian restaurant. read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is absolutely delicious - definitely try the house braised tofu, the west lake soup, black pepper beef, fried fish, and shrimp roll appetizer (they have a 3 dish for 9 dollar each deal for these items). The service can sometimes be a bit inattentive, but the food makes it worth it. The luncheon deals are also worth it (10.75 for a very generous plate of food). read more

I have been frequenting Imperial Delight for the past 20 years and the quality of their food has always remained consistent. Everytime my family and I are in the East Bay Area, we always gravitate to this Chinese restaurant. My favorite dishes are beef chow fun and sweet and sour pork. I have been eating at and ordering from this restaurant for years. All of a sudden no one speaks acceptable English. Tried to order six times and finally gave up. I suggest they hire someone who speaks English if they want to keep their English speaking clientele. This use to be one of my favorite restaurants. Not anymore! My friend and I went there for dinner recently. We had not been there in awhile. It was pretty busy but we got a table pretty fast. The waitress bought us water and tea right away and took our order. We sat there and waited for our soup, when all of a sudden there was a shouting match coming from the kitchen. OMG! It was getting REALLY LOUD and really heated! Everyone in the resturant was looking at each other. It got louder and louder and I was starting to get really nervous. One guy sitting at a table got up and looked inside the kitchen.( I guess to check it out.) It lasted for a good 10 mins with a full house listening to it. How unprofessional can you get! I told my friend that I wanted to leave. Would you want someone cooking your food that was banging pans around and shouting at the top of his lungs? I went to this restaurant for lunch yesterday with 2 others and had a very bad experience. I am a vegetarian and I had ordered for deluxe vegetables and veggie fried rice. My friend had ordered pork fried rice with Shrimps. If found a pork piece in my vegetarian fried rice and put in in my friend plate to confirm if that was pork. And I found another pork piece in my veggie fried rice that I put aside on my plate and called the waitress to show her that there is meat in my food. When I showed her my plate where the veggie fried rice had meat, She said, "Oh its just a one small piece. You can put it on the side and eat". Really??!! I can see that she does not care I am a vegetarian and just wants me to eat the same food keeping the meat aside. She did not apologize or even seemed to be care about it. Well, You may not care about what I eat but I do!!! My friend said, "Its not just that one piece, there was another piece which is here in my plate that she put earlier" and then she goes "May be the pork fell in her plate from your fork" since my friend was having pork fried rice. Are you people for real??!! Do you think we come to your restaurant to make up a fancy story to tell you and waste both our time and yours?? Good restaurants accept their mistakes and apologize. They do not blame the customers for their fault. Finally after making her understand that we were not making up a story, She asked me if I want another bowl of rice. Food was very good, the initial person who brought us tea was very kind, but it took a while for our order to be taken, now, I had read the bad reviews, some dumb ones like "1 star because you don't have enough garlic items", the rest were about being ignored by the staff, I was like, no big deal, I work in a restaurant, I used to be a waitress in an Asian restaurant too, I know how hectic it can get with 6 tables for yourself and you forget a lot of things and you have no time to refill drinks and stuff like that, honestly, I know that those of you who have never worked in a restaurant, expect to be your one and only reason to breath, therefore, I ignore the claims and I went. There was one guy working like crazy, and the 3 short haired ladies working this afternoon were just chatting in a corner, one was 90% talk, 10% polishing silverware. One of the other 2 would only move when the guy came out with a lot of takeouts, and it was only to help him with the bags, and the other, was 100% standing around...honestly, it seemed to me like the workload was unfair, but it's not my problem... what was my problem is that it took more than 20 minutes for them to stop talking enough seconds for me to ask them for the check, I didn't want to get up, I was too tired from work, there were only 3 tables with 2 customers each... So, 6 customers for 3 staff members, one would expect that one of them would at least take a look at your table, but no, I stared at them for 20 minutes... Nothing... I didn't want to be rude interrupting, and I don't want to find out how much more I would had stayed there if I didn't find that one moment to ask for the check... If food wasn't as good as it was, I would give them 1 star. Bottom line, this is a great spot for takeouts read more

I don't know what is up with a lot of places in this area using MSG (who does that anymore??) That being said, they have always remembered to make mine without, and I've enjoyed the food. It's decent chinese, but aht gets them real points is they deliver! (which is hard to find in the dublin/san ramon/pleasanton area) I LOVE their hot and sour soup. I had the crab puffs (aka crab rangoon) and I really enjoyed them. The "wrapper" was nice and thin, you really got the taste the filling. Love this place! My wife and I were trying to find a new Chinese restaurant and we came across Imperial Delight. We noticed there was a lot of people inside and after eating our food we understood why. The food was really good! The next week we decided to take our parents out to dinner and took them here. Our parents kept saying how the food tasted great and stated they would come back here any time. If you are near the area differently have to check out this place. read more
