Go anywhere else. There are a load of different restaurants within the proper mall that deserve your money over the awful service this restaurant provides. Quite literally the worst customer service I had ever had at a restaurant. Working in customer service I can understand being busy. They chose to seat us and gave us our plates still stacked with chop sticks without actually distributing them, which is still excusable since it really was busy. It starts to go downhill when we have to actually ASK for the ordering menu and knowing what we want, we mark what we would like to order quickly. 10 minutes of us trying to flag a person down. There are 4 servers practically at the beck and call of a larger party to our right, and when we decide to physically stand up and tap someone on the shoulder, the server does an exaggerated turn around like its a PAIN to even take our menu to be ordered. The food still came out in a timely manner, food was good but we still wanted to order more. We asked for another menu so we can make a new order and again, 10 minutes of us trying to flag someone down to take the order. At that point we gave up even trying to order and just wanted to get our tab taken care of. Another 10 minutes, no one is paying attention to us. There is no one at the cash register available to complete our order. There are leftovers we want to box. Thank God we noticed where the boxes were since we had to get that ourselves. It took another 10 minutes to try and pay, with the wait staff giving half-baked excuses when we were right next to their primary customers and yelling "Excuse me" to get someone's attention. Wonderful and authentic old school dimsum. This is the go-to spot for my family and I love when I come home to visit my parents because I always know we will be coming here at least a couple times. Under new management. Now they have traditional carts. Ladies doing the carts are friendly & nice. Their English is pretty good too. Head manager is grumpy & does not smile. Every weekend I crave dim sum and Imperial Garden really did not satisfy my craving during the time I visited. From food to service, I'm not sure if I enjoyed any part of my time here. The place was crowded as usual on a Saturday morning. Despite being told that I would have to wait five minutes, I was seated a minute after entering. What was originally a table made for four people was split into two so that two parties of two could sit. The downside of this? The table closest to the wall would not get direct cart service. When the cart came, it went directly next to the table that was adjacent to ours. This meant we couldn't see what was in the cart and we didn't even get to interact with the person manning the cart. When the lady noticed us, she finally asked us what we wanted from afar. It was uncomfortable to be asking for things over the party next to us. Chicken feet and bean curd was put on our table at last though. Bean curd... I was hoping for the plump, warm, filled pieces of deliciousness. The bean curd here is so disappointing. The skin on the outside is rather dry, too chewy and the inside is so limp. The thing is the saddest bean curd I have ever seen. Chicken feet here is just sad. Why is the outside so dry? The chicken feet here honestly look so shriveled up and dead. The color of it doesn't even seem right. Unfortunately, the meat itself was really unsatisfying and just didn't have the flavor profile of chicken feet elsewhere. After what seemed like forever, another cart finally came. This had the dumplings so I was able to get my ha gao and siu mai fix. The ha gao was pretty standard although they aren't filled up with shrimp as much as other places. And the siu mai aren't really warm. They don't have the fullness to them either. They give you a little dish filled with the chili oil and that's about it. There is no soy sauce or anything. So basically you're forced to share the sauce and can't make your own. Service is basically non existent. You're going to have to flag down people if you want your check or more food. This was the most disappointing dim sum experience for me. However, other people seem to have better experiences here and there seems to generally be a good flow of people here so they must be doing something right. I haven't eaten here in a couple months and man is the business night and day. New management it looks like. Walking in, the entrance is super open. The waiting area has water and mints for you, so cute. They took out the bench seating and the wall that was there. It lets in a lot of natural light which is nice. My boyfriend and I dined here Saturday afternoon and were seated immediately. I noticed the difference in service immediately. I thought I said thank you a lot but the whole staff has got me beat. And I'm not sure if they got a some new staff but there are some personable servers there now. They checked on us and kept the food going round. We got full so quickly because the service was pretty immediate. Dim sum is always good to me and this place, still, is no exception. I'm really happy to see that this place is changing for the better. Even their tableware is upgraded. Thank goodness they have the sauces at the table for you now versus months ago when I would have to request it and they wouldn't bring it until I was half way full. I really only chose this restaurant for dim sum because I didn't want to drive all the way to China Town. So, I took a shot and ordered half Beijing Duck (it was also my first time had Beijing duck ever in my life)! To insure the quality of the Beijing Duck, they roasted it right after I ordered. It took about half an hour to get it ready. Yea. It's a bit long, but it's worth it! The duck tasted a lot different than the ones at the 99 Ranch Market! It's fresher and juicier! This is has to be one of the cleanest, nicest, and tastiest Chinese restaurant I've ever been to! I believe they did a fresh remodel to make the place look so nice! I came for dim sum and was very pleased of this place. There are about 2-3 carts getting rolled around with plenty of hit steaming delicious dim sum! There are so many options to choose from and the quality of the food is absolutely great! They are pretty big, and each dish comes with about 3-4 pieces. We had over 6-7 dishes and I did not regret any of the choices I made. One of my favorite dishes here were the fried pork balls, they had some sort of mochi or rice cake slightly fried and crispy, filled with pork goodness. Also, can't go wrong with the pork shumai (probably spelled that wrong) and the shrimp balls we're very large and subtle. Overall, my experience was there was great! There was a line outside. Restaurant was supposed to open at 10am. They opened around 10:15 today. After being seated, we were served jasmine tea by a staff without her mask. This is first time I was not asked what flavor tea that I prefer to drink. I normally do not order jasmin tea during dim sum and was ultra disappointed when the tea was auto served and it was lukewarm, not hot. There were two servers who had masks on while only one did not. We ordered some dim sum and the dim sum arrived within decent timing and thankfully one was served piping hot. We waived for service a few times but servers were very busy. The price of $6-$7 per dimsum with smaller portion is really too much (I came in around dinner time, so I'm not sure if that's the reason). The taste is also mediocre for all the dimsums that I ordered. I also got the Peking duck 2 courses, which means the first course is the regular Roasted peking duck served with buns and you have different choices for the 2nd courses (duck chunks, pan fried duck meat or duck soup with tofu veggies). The waitress lady highly recommended the soup, so we chose to have duck soup for 2nd course. The price ($40) for 2 courses are for the whole duck (as they said); HOWEVER, the amount of duck meat I received I can easily tell that they only used half duck. Peking duck and soup were very tasty, but it is so pricey and I really don't like that they cheated that way. The attitude of staffs are very nice, BUT the waitress lady who served my table can't speak English AT ALL. We have only one question about the 2nd course choices and she answered everything in Cantonese. So I don't understand how they can explain to other customers who have a lot more questions?! The dim sum are very expensive here! The food is quite good though! We usually order shrimp dumpling, shiu mai, chicken feet, spare rib, congee, and tofu pudding! The service is nice but since they are short staffed, they get distracted very easily! When I wanted congee, one staff even went out of her way, walked all the way to the congee stall and brought back the congee bowl to me personally. The congee spilled a bit over her hands and made me feel bad for asking her. I could have waited for them to come around but sometimes they would miss certain corners in the restaurant. I sometimes come and just place some carry out orders as well. The last time I came here, I was told by the staff that they changed ownership! The new owner will change it to a Peking Duck place and still serve Dim Sum. I came here on Veterans Day and it was closed for construction! I forgot when it will be reopen though! New Owners! These guys kept the best of the dim sum and the live fish tanks, but completely reinvented the rest of the menu. The Peking Duck, cut and served live at the tableside was phenomenal. A blueberry sauce with it was unexpected, yet completely delightful. The traditional plum/bean sauce was great, too. The three flavor chicken is not to be missed, and it reheats great! This was my go to spot for dim sum before covid. I'm glad to see that they are still doing fairly well. The tables seem to have spread out more for social distancing, and instead of having those carts that come to your table, you order first and all the food is served at once. The food is still delicious and that is really all I care about. They have set aside an area for grub hub pickups. But overall still about the same dining experience. I had lunch here today and found the food to be delicious, flavorful and well-priced. The reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 4 or 5 is the restaurant's non-compliance with mandated COVID precautions. When I entered, the host wasn't wearing a mask. I told him he wasn't wearing a mask and he acknowledged it and then went to put on a clear plastic mask. Through the course of my meal, I saw him repeatedly without the mask. He was standing at the back of the restaurant, appearing to coordinate takeout orders and direct staff. While back there, he removed the mask. He would put the mask on when he walked among the tables. The disregard he has by not consistently wearing a mask indicated to me that he didn't care about the health and well being of the staff and patrons. As such, I will not be patronizing this restaurant again until the mask mandate is lifted but even then, the employee's actions speak volumes... read more

The restaurant appears understaffed. While the server was very nice to us herself and apologetic about the service, the place is understaffed and the food is not fantastic. I ordered a stewed beef briscuit with consumme and there was so little beef in it i couldn't in fairness call it a beef based dish. It was a poorly underprepared and bland dish that looked like barely any effort was put into. The large water chestnut was just cut into 4 giant pieces that were too big to be appropriate for a stew. We spent $73 for two dishes, and mine was quite disappointing. The limited staff is friendly, but the food could not stand on its own merits. The wait time was also fairly disappointing. Simply put, lunch today at Imperial Garden was overpriced ($71.00 for two) for relatively mediocre dim sum. Of the 10 or so standards that we tried, nothing stood out as being OMG delicious and worth coming back for. Staff were attentive, with food carts circling patrons at a fairly consistent pace. This allowed for a complete 35 minute meal - probably the highlight of the experience. The low, as documented in other reviews, was a men's restroom that was in poor condition despite our being there relatively early in the day. This place is best Cantonese dimsum place for me now. I usually went to Top gun in Bellevue or T&T in Edmonds but I wanted to try different place, so I visited here. It was hard to find because it is not located in the great wall Ranch 99 mall. The entrance is located outside and it had different name. Price wise, it is similar to other dimsum restaurants. Foods are less oily and less salty which I liked the most. Dimsum carts are checking each table pretty quickly. Fresh and hot. It seems like it gets really busy around noon time on weekends.
