Everything was delicious! There wasn't a thing I did not like. Orders came out promptly & service was good. Restaurant was clean, welcoming & kid friendly.

My friend told me about this place near our fave foot massage location. She's Chinese, and knows how picky I am when it comes to Chinese. I will travel to San Francisco or Richmond BC just to get good Chinese food. But sometimes there's places that will be sufficient enough as long as it's tasty. This place is a little more Americanized for the customers they serve, but all in all they have good flavors. First time we took food home, the past couple of times we dined in. When you see a lot of Chinese patrons, large group even, then you know it had to be good. The menu had the typical fare what Americans usually order. We tried both, the set menu, and a la carte. The set menu really was too Americanized for our taste, but the other dishes had great flavor once you order a la carte. Service was adequate. Young lady basically running the restaurant on her own, while the cooks make the meals.

For Chinese food popping with distinct flavor, we come here for a good selection of food that everyone can share. Beef cubes, tofu with veg and salt & pepper pork chop. different texture & aromas.

Many speaking mandarin, lots speaking English. But anytime I go to a place and it's not filled with Americans but the people the cuisine represents, it's always a good sign. We were immediately greeted and they have quite a few tables. Many of them are the big round tables with the lazy Susan in the middle. Typical and traditional for a family dinner experience with Chinese food. As it's meant to be served and shared with everyone. You don't typically order your own plate. On our visit we ordered the Westlake beef soup, fried eggplant with spicy garlic, seafood chow fun with gravy, and the salt and pepper fried chicken wings. Every single dish was served piping hot and fresh. The chow fun had a hint of the wok char which is super important. And each dish was delicious. The eggplant was so tasty. The garlic extra crispy and not bitter at all. The crispy coating around the tender eggplant- exceptional! The chow fun was well balanced. The seafood cooked perfectly. The chicken wings, I only wish it had more topping on it. But fried well, light batter and seasoned to perfection. The soup was light and with a little white pepper, I was so satisfied. We will definitely be back. The service was great. They were friendly. Just a tip, they don't take American Express.

Based on my latest visit to Mai Place, I'm happy to increase my rating to four stars! Our party of…read more28 came here to celebrate Lunar New Year and had a pleasant experience. The staff was both kind and attentive, and we didn't feel rushed at all like we did last time. I consider this to be one of the better Cantonese restaurants on the Eastside although prices are on the higher end for average size portions. Our table of 10 was able to polish off nine dishes with no leftovers which is not super common for us. When we go to other restaurants, there's usually at least something left to take home, but here, all our plates were completely clean. + SAUTÉED FISH FILLET ($19.95): Lightly fried pieces of fish were coated in a subtle soy-based sauce with snap peas, celery and mushrooms. The fish was delicate and addicting; every time it approached me on the turntable, I scooped a piece onto my plate! + ENOKI MUSHROOM w/ SILKY TOFU ($19.95): The tofu had such a smooth custard-like texture with a firm lightly fried exterior. If you're seeking a vegetarian option, I recommend this! + HOUSE SPECIAL CHOW MEIN ($16.95): So good! The noodles had a delicious wok flavor and weren't too oily. It included slices of BBQ pork, small shrimp that had a perfect snap and tender calamari strips. Onion and cabbage added some crunch. + DRY BEEF CHOW FUN ($16.95): They use the dried flat rice noodles rather than the fresh ones, so this was just okay. (I think the last time we came, they used the fresh noodles.) The noodles were not as soft as I'd like, but the flavor aligned with your average chow fun and the pieces of beef were quite tender. + PEA VINES w/ GARLIC SAUCE ($19.95): The pea vines tasted fresh with crunchy stems and tender leaves. This is a good straightforward veggie dish. + SZECHUAN CHICKEN ($16.95): This is labeled as "spicy" on the menu, but the heat level is mild at most. I'd say it was more of a sweet and sour sauce which wasn't bad, but just different than anticipated. The chicken pieces were pretty small and some were mostly crust, so I would probably skip this next time. We had three other dishes as well, but these are the ones I wanted to spotlight. After we ordered, our food started arriving shortly after and the staff walked around on a regular basis to refill waters. Mai Place is pretty easy to miss when driving around the area, so definitely make a point to seek it out the next time you're craving authentic Chinese cuisine.

It was tender and flavorful. You even got a bit of that wok char on it when they cooked it all together with the bell peppers. It was the most satisfying thing we ate. But for those in the know, Triumph Valley is really known for their dim sum menu! Off the beaten path, you have to take State Highway 167, as its just south of the large IKEA store. But definitely a culinary landmark if you are a constant diner of Chinese cuisine, and dim sum afficianado. There are only three dim sum, or dumpling lunch providers in or around the City of Renton (technically two). This is one of them, and if you are not early, it can get really crowded, especially on weekends. But the staff bravely soldiers-on with their dilligent service. The restaurant's ambiance takes advantage of its interior with strategic lighting in their dining hall. Very utilitarian, while trying to ensure a little bit of style. They also modernize the experience with electronic waiting and ordering system on portable touch screens. It actually helps the service. No paper. As for me, my focus is on the dim sum. All of my favorites are there. And, as diner of one, it was hard not to want to order everything. So, I ordered the "basics" of a dim sum lunch. One order of Shiu Mai, one order of Har Gow, and one order steamed BBQ Pork. It was pretty much all you need along with an order of tea, as well as a Diet Coke to wash it all down. There were other traditional dim sum selections, but I knew my tummy (and wallet) wouldn't absorb it all - as much as I would have liked. Steamed beancurd sheets, beef meatballs, steamed sticky rice in banana leaves... chicken feet, it was all there. The best way is to make a plan, and invite lots of freinds to make sure you can try EVERYTHING! Yes, there are other menu items, like I said, but for Dim Sum dining in Renton, this is the place!!!! See you at Triumph Valley.

I needed to be in Renton along 4th Ave and since I don't get to eat good Pho much anymore, I saw that Happy Autumn was along the route I'd be driving. My first impression. The food handling rating is EXCELLENT and the restaurant looked clean. The staff was delightful, professional, full of smiles, and had my order ready for pick-up right on time. I got the grilled chicken Pho to go, which is risky because 'to-go' meals can be skimped on since people don't tend to complain on meals to go from their house. I was NOT disappointed. They piled up all the goodies. Extra Sriracha, jalapenos, cilantro and basil. Lots of chicken and noodles and just a touch of sprouts (they are my least favorite Pho item). The broth was fragrant, flavorful and by the time I got home 45 minutes later, still hot. I put it all together and enjoyed some of the best Pho I've ever eaten locally. HIGHLY recommend.

Staff was nice, attentive and the tables and restaurant seemed very clean. We ordered pho, chicken summer rolls and a grilled chicken rice plate. The broth didn't have a lot of depth.
