My husband and I weren't impressed. We ordered broccoli chicken, kung pao chicken, general tso's chicken, sizzling rice soup, and chicken fried rice. We ordered 3 on the general tso and 2 on the kung pao. The sizzling rice soup, kung pao, and fried rice were very good. The broccoli chicken and general tso's were bland and actually had an odd chemical taste to them. We were disappointed that this place wasn't as good as the other reviewers said it was. read more

This place is a little mom and pop place with about 8 tables. The mom is the waitress and the pop does the cooking. I went there on a Saturday night around 5:30 and only 2 tables were busy, which was good for me, as I wanted to order to go. I ordered 2 of the combo dinners. I think they were around $12 each. Both were good. Many of the items were pre cooked and frozen, I assume to save time since there is only 1 person cooking. The fried rice was premade and kept in a rice cooker. This may be how all Chinese restaurants do it; its just that the kitchen in this place is out in the open and you get to see everything being made. The eggroll tasted fresh. The crab Rangoon had good flavor but a weird shape. I'm used to them being in wonton paper and in a star shape. These were in a triangle and in a dough. The mom/waitress was very nice, asking if I was visiting in this area and making small talk. The meals came complete with hot and spicy soup and fortune cookie. There was enough for both of us to get 2 meals from it. It was decent food for a decent price. Nothing to rave about but I would go back and try other items just to promote a local family owned business. read more

My fiance and I went here for dinner for date night and left less than impressed. None of the food was bad, per se, but none of it was special either. We had mongolian beef, pork fried rice, hot and sour soup, fried prawns, kung pao chicken, egg rolls, crab rangoons and jasmine tea (combos #2 and #3 with mongolian beef substituted for mandarin chicken in #3). It was all kind of meh. My mom makes better hot and sour soup. I make better fried rice. Nothing was bad, just meh. The service however, was terrible. We had to get our own menus, our own silverware, our own napkins. It took ten minutes for the woman to come over and ask if we wanted something to drink. She only checked on us once, toward the end of the meal. It wasn't very busy, but the service was bad enough that I wouldn't want to see them on a busy night. I won't be going back. read more

The Imperial Wok is located on a quiet corner of the Canyon Park shopping strip. They do a good take-out business. But we decided to eat in. We ordered the Combo C, of Lemon Chicken (nice crispy shell smothered in a sweet lemon sauce), Cashew Prawns (deep rich sauce and plenty of shrimp), Crispy Beef (again a nice rich brown sauce covering nicely crisped beef strips), and Fried Rice. Had this for lunch today and ordered lunch beef broccoli. The beef and broccoli was stir fried perfectly and the sauce wasn't too overpowering and overbearing. Delicious. In a certain angle of the seating you can see the skillful kitchen staff cooking your food. Over the years the owners have gotten to know us, they ask about my brother and I's schooling, they know when we're calling in orders for birthdays and they've always been phenomenal. I love this place. The food is always fresh and delicious. The pot stickers are home made and AMAZING. The best I have had! I love going here for lunch, $5.95 and it is quick and there are over 10 dishes to choose from. I love the Mandarin Crispy Chicken. My husband's favorite is their hot and sour soup. Another added bonus, they don't use MSG in any of their dishes. The owners are very nice and provide great service. This is the best Chinese place we have found. read more

Absolutely the worst Chinese food I've ever eaten. My wife and I just recently moved to Bothell and were absolutely craving some good Chinese food. We came across imperial wok and decided to give it a try. We ordered the lunch family special and there was nothing Chinese about it. The pork fried rice was simply rice from a rice cooker was bits of pork and some peas added to it. The chow mien was decent, but not worth coming back for on its own. The sweet and sour chicken was more like sweet and sour flour with a sliver of chicken. And the mandarin crispy chicken was plain breaded chicken that lacked complete flavor. Would not recommend this place to someone looking for good Chinese food. read more

Fried rice is pretty flavorless but the mandarin chicken is pretty good. Mongolian beef is also pretty good. Could've been 3 stars if they didn't miss anything on my order. How are the reviews here so high? The woman at the counter was literally the rudest person I've ever talked to at a restaurant. We were pretty surprised actually but wrote it off to her having a bad day or maybe a previous customer. But then we had ordered a lot of food for takeout since we were starving. It was god awful. I actually threw it away. Soggy and just inedible, disgusting. This place sucks. read more

Been here at least a dozen times and the gentleman chef is always very friendly and knows what he's doing I particularly like that he cooks right in front of you, the concept of an "open kitchen" Chinese restaurant is a forgotten art but this place hits the mark. I'm perhaps Imperial Wok's biggest fan when it comes to fresh and quick Chinese Food. Everything I've had here has been exceptional, and yes I agree with others on the pot stickers. These are hand made, from the incredible yummy bite of the wrapper to the thick and tasty meat filling - nothing comes close to it. One of the best things about Imperial Wok is the freshness in their ingredients, when Chee is busy at his wok, you can see him add in all fresh ingredients - none of that "kept in the pot" for the next day kinda food is found here. I'm always happy with everything here - healthier, fresher and just darn good Chinese food is what you can expect. read more

This was hands down the best Chinese food I've ever had! My husband and mother in law agree as well. We had the combo meal D as well as the kung pao chicken and egg foo yung. It was all AMAZING!! An ok place for the price and reviews. I didn't have much of an expectation. I was craving Chinese food and went to this place for lunch, which is pretty close to work. I ordered curry chicken, the chicken seemed not properly cooked. I left 80% of my food as is. Mom & pop, Not fancy, American-style Chinese food. Food is always made to order. Crispy chicken dishes are served crispy, never soggy. Spiciness is appropriately adjusted to order. Potstickers are the best I've had anywhere. Not your normal overly-cabbaged pork filling, for one thing. But the texture is perfect, with a perfectly steamed top and super crispy bottom. They're happy to do a half order if you're eating alone. Lunch special comes with two fried wonton wrappers with sweet and sour sauce (from the can, I'm afraid) spooned over. It's a nice sweet addition to a spicy dish like the Mandarin Spicy Chicken (I get it 4-star spicy). Tea is loose leaf and to order, a very reasonable $1.50 for a pot of oolong. I don't eat soup or fried rice, so I can't comment on those. Owners are very friendly, and if you visit a handful of times they are happy to remember your regular order. I don't recommend take-out, as the advantage of the place is that everything is freshly made and served hot and (if appropriate) crispy. read more

love this place, it is just a husband and wife and sometimes their daughter and they work hard the food is great, i've loved everything i've had here, i'm not a fan of mushrooms but I always get there mushroom chicken. everything is really fresh and its not greasy and heavy like some Chinese food can be there could be a wait cuz you just have one guy making everything from scratch but its worth the wait read more

We went back for lunch as a family since we enjoyed it so much. Unfortunately our experience was not very good. During the lunch hour we were the only people in the restaurant besides the owners. We were greeted, and quickly seated = good After this the service degraded. We decided to try a few lunch entrees and share. The server came to take or orders, but she was very disappointed that we were not ordering one entree for each person in our family (6). We ordered 4 lunch entrees and a full dinner serving of Lemon Chicken. I expected that the serving size would be large, but it turns up their lunch serving sizes are very small compared to most Asian restaurants I have been to. There wasn't enough food to feed our family!!! She quickly removed plates from the table even before the kids were done eating. Water refills were non-existent. I am sad we had such poor service because we told the kids how great this place was, but not any more :( I think the difference maker is the daughter, she is a student and she was working the evening that my wife and I went our first time. During lunch it is only the owners. Sadly we will not return... Good food, poor service (when the daughter is not working) and very small serving sizes for lunch. I came here solo for lunch one day and had the mandarin crispy chicken lunch. It came with soup and fried rice. I usually start eating too soon so I ended up burning my mouth since the food was super fresh and hot, but that doesn't affect my review, I just need to learn how to slow down ;) Everything tasted great, and the price was pretty competitive with other lunch specials in the area. read more

I looove Chinese food and this restaurant is so far my favorite. Their food is very authentic and fresh. The thing I like the best apart from the tasty food is the cleanliness of the place. They have an open kitchen and you can see your food been cooked. I would highly recommend their crab rangoons and lo-mein noodles. They are the best... I get these 2 every single time I go there. The restaurant owners are the staffs there and they are super nice and friendly. I have ordered food 15 mins before closing and they had them ready for us with with a smile. If you like authentic Chinese food and for a very decent price (the dishes range from $4-$10), you should definitely check this place out. read more

My super picky youngest daughter who will only eat around 4 things now loves to get Chinese food because of Imperial Wok. I'm telling you it's magic! REALLY REALLY GOOD Chow Mein. The best I have had in the Seattle area - believe me I have been searching for the past 12 years. It is amazingly flavorful, not bland noodles like most chinese restaurants. The rest of the dishes are ho hum but the Chow Mein is so good it almost makes up for the others. The only thing I was disappointed in was the Crab Rangoon. The wontons were too thick and they were a bit chewy. Super clean - open kitchen so you can watch them make your food. They close early 7pm on Mondays but will sometimes do take out orders after that if they are still answering the phone. We get takeout from this place regularly. read more

I love Chinese food and this place is great. It's close to my house and whenever I call in an order the couple is always so sweet to me over the phone and when I am there to pick up. The last time I called in my order I didn't realize it was close to closing time. When she told me it would be ready in 10 minutes, my drive from work was 20 minutes, I felt bad and told them nevermind, I didn't realize they were closing. But the lady said she would wait for me and told me to drive safely and take my time. I have only had take out here, but this is by far one of the best Chinese take out spots in Bothell. read more

We were barely acknowledged even when we made eye contact and we still had to grab menus and seat ourselves. Once seated, we waited for 10-15 minutes before we got any water and had our order taken. We ate in and the service was good. The reason for the 2 stars is for the food. We had combo meals. I started with hot and sour soup, the soup was sour, more sour than i enjoyed and lacked flavor. My girlfriend got the almond chicken and i got crispy chicken. Way over done, she ended up spitting hers out at one point. the portions were small as well. With all the options out there I will not be coming back. Great service and local charm, but I expect a little more from my food. read more
