I'm very skeptical about going to independent mechanics - as I'm sure most people have negative experiences in this space. But luckily Farhad and Import Connections has been really great working on my (now former) Porche Macan, and with very reasonable prices. A few years ago I had brought my car in for service and, by accident, they had broken a sensor. It was just a day before thanksgiving, and Farhad didn't want me to not have my car so he ended up driving all the way to SF to get the part to deliver my car on time. Fantastic service. read more

Yet another update. Six years after buying our Audi Q5 from Farhad, we are still completely satisfied with both that purchase and the maintenance since then. Recently Farhad replaced two door lock actuators (really the only repair needed in the six years) and clearly explained what was needed, completing the work quickly and with no drama. As usual, the repair was done correctly the first time. Recently we have started to consider a newer car: with the cancellation of our long driving trip this year those plans are on hold. Took my Porsche Panamera to Import Connection a few times and they took care of my issues. They are reliable and upfront.

I had a car that needed repairs and I found one of Farhad's employees to fix it. Upon asking about the nature of the repairs, the employee was extremely condescending and insecure about his ability to do simple repairs on a car, and even yelled at me for no reason. I was very turned off by his attitude and asked to speak to his supervisor and he turned me away instead. I heard him mutter the "N" word behind my back when I walked out the door. Apparently being Black here does not help you get simple repairs on your car. Avoid this racist business if you can. read more

I bought my new (new to me) Mini 2008 from Farhad & he was great. Even my husband comment on What a nice and helpful guy Farhad. The experience was very good for buying a car. I test drove a couple of cars a few months ago none of them perfect for us. But this month he pick up my Mini at BMW auction. He was professional and very help full. Great place to buy a car. Farhad's the owner and is very courteous and has a no pressure attitude. They have a good selection of Porsches and other high end vehicles. Each vehicle gets a thorough inspection and he fixes any imperfection before the sale. The care, concern and gesture of humanity Farhad offers to his clients is beyond compare in the automotive industry. I could always rely on Farhad and staff to perform tune ups, oil changes, repairs and keep my car running smooth, but what really keeps me referring him to my customers, friends and family is the unparalleled service he provides as in this example below. A window switch and door handle on the drivers door broke and I asked Farhad to call the dealership and order a new one. I came back 2 days later to discover Farhad researched, went to a Mercedes wrecking yard and found an exact match for 20% of the price the dealer would have charged for the part, and he installed it for about $50. Only come here if you want to pay the advertised prices, which are significantly over-priced. We went in to buy a Mini and everyone was very nice until we started to talk about the price. They became loud and unreasonable within a matter of seconds. After haggling over $500 for a half an hour, we walked out. Amazing. They wouldn't budge on their outrageous margins. We stopped by Mini of Mountain of View on the way home and walked away with a brand new 2010 Mini Cooper S fully loaded for $2k more than they wanted for a 2008 with the same specs and 18k miles. I just bought a Porsche Boxster from Import Connection and I couldn't be happier. The owner is knowledgeable and takes pride in his work. He specializes in luxury cars, Porsche for the most part, and really knows everything about those cars. Unlike other dealers, he prepares the cars before putting them up for sell, changes everything less then perfect (clutch, brakes, etc...) You drive away with a solid, reliable and IMMACULATE car! But the greatest of all is that he prices his cars at private party value or sometimes even less. I like having the security of buying from a professional without the feeling of being ripped of. First I have to thank all the great reviews that lead me here. My wife's Cooper needed major repairs. It's her baby and I wanted the right mechanic for the job. Farhad is that mechanic. An absolute gentleman and an ace mechanic. Did a superior job and took no short cuts. Unlike the work done at dealer on Stevens Creek. Picked the car up and immediately drove it over 400 miles at freeway speeds. And it ran flawlessly and continues to do so. I can not thank him enough for the outstanding job he did. His honesty and integrity is unlike any mechanic I ever worked with. Accidently over charged us by $66, on a multi thousand dollar job, and gave us a check for difference on the spot. I believe most others would have just glossed that over. Not Farhad. I have never found a mechanic or repair shop that impressed me enough to recommend to anyone. I can't say enough about Farhad and his knowledge about Porsche Turbo's. Last July I took my 996tt to Farhad for a blown coolant fitting. Farhad quickly diagnosed the problem and knew exactly what was wrong. The blown coolant fitting required a drop of the motor and gave Farhad an opportunity to replace everything needed in a 14 year old Porsche plus pinning of all coolant fittings. His original estimate was very close to the final bill and I felt it was very fair. Since July I've had small issues with the car that Farhad has addressed with professional curtesy and knowledge (none were related to the prior work). If your a Porsche turbo owner you should seriously consider Import Connections. I should also note that I introduced a friend of mine to Farhad and he bought a 911 Targa in July. Lastly, I received zero compensation from Import Connections for this post. I just feel strongly that great customer service and technical skills deserve proper recognition. read more

Farhad runs a great shop. He is friendly, honest and is always very competitive on pricing. For instance, the Mini dealer had recommended a very expensive service (oil gasket was leaking, they said) and when I asked Farhad to go ahead & perform this service, he reported back that, actually, it was not necessary. The area was dirty, required cleaning but that there was no leak. Saved me over $1000! Not many car shops will override the customer's request to fix something - especially an expensive item like the one I mentioned above. read more

I talked to Navid in service regarding my bumper on my new Corvette that needed help on the clear coat. I bought a 2010 E550 from these guys last night and it was one of the best retail experiences I've ever had. The car was $4K cheaper than any other advertised version of this car across the country (oh yes, I looked all across the USA). I called the brothers (owners) up, told them I wanted their car and what I was willing to pay, I told them I had a trade-in and what I wanted for it. They looked over my CarFax and said they could work with me. I got there, we both looked over each others cars and he said "Yep, this deal works for us." I took his E550 on a long test drive and when I floored it, we both giggled like kids because we were having a good time. I never thought I'd believe buying a used car could be fun but it was! I took both my 2007 530i BMW and my daughter's 1998 BMW 318 convertible in to Navid for service. I was referred to Farhad by the upholstery business that fixed my daughter's convertible top. He advised me that Farhad would be fair, reasonably priced, and provide great service. Plus, Import Connection specialized in high-end vehicles like mine. First, I took my car in. It had been displaying 2 service icons for a month and a half (one for the traction control and the service engine soon light). I had taken it to my mechanic in RWC (not a BMW specialist) on 2 occasions. While they were able to diagnose the issue, they were unable to fully repair after having my vehicle on 2 separate occasions. They recommended that I take it to the dealer since they specialize in BMWs. I had an appointment at Mountain View BMW, but decided to bring it to Import Connection. Farhad was able to get me in on a date/time that worked for me. I dropped the car off at 8:30 am and by 12:30 pm, they had called to tell me my car was ready for pick-up. I was shocked! I was expecting them to have it for a full day. When I picked up the vehicle, they explained that the steering wheel control had to be replaced and that you had to ensure that it was properly aligned and reset the computer. Turns out, the first place had been right about the diagnosis, but just couldn't fixed it. I was so impressed with their high level of service, I took my daughter's car there later that evening when I noticed the brakes were squeaky badly. Navid took care of the car and diagnosed the car with needing a new clutch and brake line flushing. Plus, they had found that there was a leak near the transmission. They were great about keeping me informed every step of the way. I knew the car was going to need a complete diagnosis as the previous owner had it sitting in their garage for such a long time. I'm so happy I've found a place that can service our family's BMW. They're trustworthy, reasonably priced, and service-oriented. read more
