Our go to spot when craving a great burger! Ever since the pandemic the drive thru line has always seemed to be the same, out past the parking lot. We frequented this location a lot during the pandemic since we'd just eat in the car, sometimes there's a long line, but no matter what it's always worth it in the end! Gotta love these burgers. I usually get them plain but scrumptious regardless. My husband usually tears up a 4x4 with animal style fries, can't beat a classic like in n out. The inside is always kept clean but we prefer to just eat inside our car. On the rare occasion we do eat inside, we are always happy with how things are inside. The drive thru however is the fastest way to get your food compared to ordering inside FYI. The fries are good but usually we need to add a bit of salt. There are plenty of secret menu items to get but we like to stick to our usual. As a California native this is the spot to go. WHEN: Saturday @6pm According to Google, it said that around 5pm this location wouldn't be as busy. I haven't been here in so long because there's always a long line. And I'm sure the pandemic doesn't change that! Here's the timeline of the visit: 6:10pm - Got in line at the drive-thru. We were like the 2nd car to be in the streets and the line looks 6:15pm - Order was placed on the passenger side, once were now in the parking lot. 6:25pm - Paid and we were on our way home! On the way home we ate one of the order of fries and it was hot and fresh! Wow, I don't remember in n out fries being this good! I'm so glad we ordered 2! Here's what was ordered: CHEESEBURGER - $3.15 I had this animal style (grilled onions with cheese and extra sor). It was a 10 minute drive to get home and the burgers were still amazing as ever! The buns had that nice layer of crunch! It's juicy and full of flavor! Man, I must have really forgotten how good these burgers are! FRIES - $2.05 As mentioned they were so hot and fresh I wished I we had ordered 3 of them. Great job! VANILLA MILKSHAKE - $2.70 You know this didn't taste great to me. My boyfriend picked an animal style burger and Neapolitan shake for me when he was in the Alameda area. Seemed like the drive thru went quick and before I knew it, he was already back! The shake was new to me but I could taste all the different flavors in there. I definitely enjoyed this more than I thought I would. I also like how the shake isn't so thick that it's difficult to drink. The burger was delicious -- I don't know if I was starving because it was late lunch time but the animal style was so much better than I remembered (it was dry last time I had from a different location). I love the sauce and the pickles that they put in. To make it even better, you really can't beat the price for In-n-Out. The price is so worth it for the quality here. I want to preface this by saying that I'm a born and raised Californian and in n out is one of my favorite restaurants in the world. I never thought i would give less than 4 stars, but the alameda in n out let me down. The employees seemed flustered and I had to correct the cashier multiple times when ordering. Then the food came out and my burger was so sloppily put together I was shocked. There was barely any veggies, the patties were squished, and they forgot the extra ketchup I ordered. It was still in n out so I enjoyed it but not as good as it should have been. Maybe a sunday night was just a lot for them to handle but I've seen jn n outs more packed with far more delicious and pretty sandwiches. I love this In-N-Out location because it's been feeding me and satisfying my burger cravings since I was a college freshman, and now I'm close to graduating! I've had In-N-Out since I was a little kid because I'm from SoCal, and so I immediately tried to find the closest In-N-Out to me when I moved to the Bay. I was so happy to find this location. The quality of their burgers are pretty reliable in my opinion--if you order in-person (the drive thru line is ALWAYS long). Sometimes you'll see a crazy drive thru line but if you just find a parking spot (usually not too hard) and go in to order, there will barely be a line! I order the hamburger (sometimes with no onion, sometimes with grilled onions), as well as fries when I'm feeling them. Very occasionally, I'll order my burger protein-style. I love how cheap the food is and how you can customize your burgers in more ways than you might think you are able to. read more

When in Cali it almost a tourist right of passage to make a stop at In-N-Out Burger. Ordering with screens between the patron and worker, no seating indoors, but some outdoor seating that does get cleaned by staff (when asked because they were very busy), masks required. I ordered the animal fries (because for me, the more sauce the better) and just means I need to eat twice as fast. As a Southern California native, I grew up eating plenty of In-n-out, and I'd like to say that I feel like this is one of the few places where the quality of the food has not changed significantly since I first had it. This spot in Oakland specifically I felt like had a really nice open seating and the service was very friendly and helpful. Some tips if it's your first time here, you can get your onions customized and you can get them raw, grilled, or even grilled whole. I personally enjoy them grilled so it doesn't overpower the burger. You can also get your burger mustard grilled and with onions. For the fries, I like them plain but my partner likes them animal style, and as a compromise you can get their in-n-out sauce on the side for free. read more

We've gone several times at peak hours, using the drive-through, and have had a consistently fast, easy, and surprisingly pleasant experience, despite what looked like it should be a multi-hour line. They know they're good and are ready for the crowd. We pull up in the crazy long line and prepare to sit for all eternity waiting for our delicious, fresh, always-perfect burgers...and then find the line moving at lightning speed, with friendly and masked staff coming to our car window to take our order as we continue forward. If you want to grab a burger fast, go inside to order. To my surprise, this time around, early May, there are customers dinning in the restaurant. CA loosen the indoor dinning restrictions and allowing probably 50% capacity for indoor dinning. SERVICE It's always excellent at this Alameda location. The staff are always very friendly and happy to greet us. Mask enforced, social distance enforced during covid. There are hand sanitizers in the restaurant. With cold animal style goo on top. That's all I ate. For however many dollars... the 4x4 was fine and onion in the middle which was okay. It still wasn't as hot as it could be. It honestly tasted warm and it hadn't been more than 30 seconds. I will say the food came out pretty fast, but it could be way better. The person at the window needs to be telling the kitchen workers when they are selling cold fries. Definitely ok for the price but alameda workers might be cutting corners and it comes off in the flavor, heat and the portion of the animal style spread and onions that was hard and cold and a main reason why many fast food lovers avoid In-N-Out! read more
