My boyfriend picked an animal style burger and Neapolitan shake for me when he was in the Alameda area. Seemed like the drive thru went quick and before I knew it, he was already back! The shake was new to me but I could taste all the different flavors in there. I definitely enjoyed this more than I thought I would. I also like how the shake isn't so thick that it's difficult to drink. The burger was delicious -- I don't know if I was starving because it was late lunch time but the animal style was so much better than I remembered (it was dry last time I had from a different location). I love the sauce and the pickles that they put in. To make it even better, you really can't beat the price for In-n-Out. The price is so worth it for the quality here. Will definitely be craving this next time I'm back in Alameda :) read more

Our go to spot when craving a great burger! Ever since the pandemic the drive thru line has always seemed to be the same, out past the parking lot. We frequented this location a lot during the pandemic since we'd just eat in the car, sometimes there's a long line, but no matter what it's always worth it in the end! Gotta love these burgers. I usually get them plain but scrumptious regardless. My husband usually tears up a 4x4 with animal style fries, can't beat a classic like in n out. The inside is always kept clean but we prefer to just eat inside our car. On the rare occasion we do eat inside, we are always happy with how things are inside. The drive thru however is the fastest way to get your food compared to ordering inside FYI. The fries are good but usually we need to add a bit of salt. There are plenty of secret menu items to get but we like to stick to our usual. As a California native this is the spot to go. Been going since we were kids and have always had a good experience here. Edit: husband finally tried the Flying Dutchman. He said it was good but next one he'll get it as a lettuce wrap. read more

I'm a Cali girl and the one closest to my neighborhood in Oakland Ca has closed due to crime but fortunately there are other locations that are not too far so as soon as we deplane it is my go to spot read more

I love this In-N-Out location because it's been feeding me and satisfying my burger cravings since I was a college freshman, and now I'm close to graduating! I've had In-N-Out since I was a little kid because I'm from SoCal, and so I immediately tried to find the closest In-N-Out to me when I moved to the Bay. I was so happy to find this location. The quality of their burgers are pretty reliable in my opinion--if you order in-person (the drive thru line is ALWAYS long). Sometimes you'll see a crazy drive thru line but if you just find a parking spot (usually not too hard) and go in to order, there will barely be a line! I order the hamburger (sometimes with no onion, sometimes with grilled onions), as well as fries when I'm feeling them. Very occasionally, I'll order my burger protein-style. I love how cheap the food is and how you can customize your burgers in more ways than you might think you are able to. read more

Check your order and only order inside!.Been to many In-N-Out in SoCal and used to like the Oakland one. For unknown reasons, the last 3 times I used the drive-thru, my order is missing a burger ingredient. Last time I ordered chopped grilled onions. Mentioned grilled onions twice for emphasis. After leaving the window with my order, opened bag to find: no onions at all. 5 years ago, ordered animal style and got just a regular burger: no mustard grill. Complained by phone; was sent a $5 gift card. But I really don't want to keep complaining so I just don't visit this location more than once a year. It's not the same quality as other locations. When in Cali it almost a tourist right of passage to make a stop at In-N-Out Burger. Ordering with screens between the patron and worker, no seating indoors, but some outdoor seating that does get cleaned by staff (when asked because they were very busy), masks required. I ordered the animal fries (because for me, the more sauce the better) and just means I need to eat twice as fast. I also got the single burger with everything, all jalapeño peppers and grilled and raw onions. NEXT TIME, I need to specify for a whole grilled onion. Extra in-n-out sauce were in sauce packets which is great for COVID. read more

Be prepared to wait. The drive-thru line wait time was at least 30 minutes. The burger was not bad. The sauce on the burger is great. The fries, however, are a waste of time. If you like potato stick-like fries, then you may enjoy them, but I did not. read more

I want to preface this by saying that I'm a born and raised Californian and in n out is one of my favorite restaurants in the world. I never thought i would give less than 4 stars, but the alameda in n out let me down. The employees seemed flustered and I had to correct the cashier multiple times when ordering. Then the food came out and my burger was so sloppily put together I was shocked. There was barely any veggies, the patties were squished, and they forgot the extra ketchup I ordered. It was still in n out so I enjoyed it but not as good as it should have been. Maybe a sunday night was just a lot for them to handle but I've seen jn n outs more packed with far more delicious and pretty sandwiches. I will continue going to in n out but probably not this one read more

When the In-N-Out craving starts, you must to be willing to brave the line which is always wrapped around the lot and backed up to the main road. It's worth it though! Thankfully the line moves fast, so I only waited 16 minutes to get my food. The double-double always hits the spot! I love the fries too. As a Southern California native, I grew up eating plenty of In-n-out, and I'd like to say that I feel like this is one of the few places where the quality of the food has not changed significantly since I first had it. This spot in Oakland specifically I felt like had a really nice open seating and the service was very friendly and helpful. Some tips if it's your first time here, you can get your onions customized and you can get them raw, grilled, or even grilled whole. I personally enjoy them grilled so it doesn't overpower the burger. You can also get your burger mustard grilled and with onions. For the fries, I like them plain but my partner likes them animal style, and as a compromise you can get their in-n-out sauce on the side for free. read more

I've always said "when I go to California I'm going to try In-N-Out Burgers & I did! This restaurant takes me back in time when life was simple. The restaurant has a 50's vibe. Ambiance: cute and inviting. This location does get a ton of traffic and waiting in the drive thru line can sometimes take forever -- like 15 cars minimum on any given day. Given that, would recommend just parking and walking in to order. At least that'll give you something to do. Food: nothing but compliments for in n out -- the incredible price point, the solid meal, the fact that they're always open so you can go there in the middle of the day or night. read more

Although it's not my favorite burger joint, I can see the rage. Fresh toppings take over the burger, but adds to it's taste. Always a line wrapped around this place. Tables were clean and available inside. Counter service was fast, friendly and efficient. Soda machines had a cool touchless finger sensor that took me a few minutes to figure out.... after I touched it. Not crazy about their fries. I like them more crispy with a crunch. read more

I'm a fan of In-N-Out Burger but wish they would offer a few more things, like ranch dressing, on their menu. Maybe that's just not their thing. The burgers, and fries are good but seem a little generic. Like something from a national burger chain whose name I won't mention. I am a fan of their double double and animal fries. However, I do wish their fries were somewhat thicker. The restaurant is clean, and the service is good. Keep in mind that it's a busy restaurant and there can be a wait. read more

Food:5/10 Service: 8/10 Portion size: small Wait time: 15 minutes at 3pm on a Sunday to get your food. My husband and I got 1 double double burger, 2 cheese burgers and an animal style fries and I could still eat dessert. But all if that was only $15 so not bad. We also like the secret sauce in the burger and add grilled onion and peppers. The workers are nice and friendly too. Gotta give some love to my neighborhood In n Out! In n Out always does me a solid and takes care of my late night cravings for a burger and fries. The staff is super friendly & accommodating and the food speaks for itself with its freshness, classic flavors, and quality. I usually get a cheeseburger animal style and fries but tonight I got both of them animal style and it was a game changer. I normally don't eat all of my fries but this time I devoured everything on my classic red plastic tray down to the crumb. That melted cheese, tangy secret sauce and caramelized grilled onions on top of piping hot fries is a force to be reckoned with. You can't beat the prices, quality and taste of in n out. I'm so glad that it's relatively nearby. I'm sure I'll be back really soon. read more

In-N-Out Burger is always spot on. It never disappoints, and the Alameda shop deserves a special shout-out for efficiency. You could be 50 cars back in a line that winds down the Highway during the dinner rush, and you'll still get your order within like 20 minutes. It's insane. We've gone several times at peak hours, using the drive-through, and have had a consistently fast, easy, and surprisingly pleasant experience, despite what looked like it should be a multi-hour line. They know they're good and are ready for the crowd. We pull up in the crazy long line and prepare to sit for all eternity waiting for our delicious, fresh, always-perfect burgers...and then find the line moving at lightning speed, with friendly and masked staff coming to our car window to take our order as we continue forward. We greatly appreciate that all staff are wearing masks. You pay at the first window, and as soon as you pull up to the second, your food is ready. In our excitement to eat, we keep forgetting to take any pictures. Maybe next time! read more

WHEN: Saturday @ 7pm Idk what not to like about in n out burgers. It's the best burger chain on the west coast hands down. Way better than shake shack. The drive thru line at Alameda always goes out to the street. There's no lines when waiting inside, so we always go in to order. I found it to be faster than drive thru. If you want to grab a burger fast, go inside to order. To my surprise, this time around, early May, there are customers dinning in the restaurant. CA loosen the indoor dinning restrictions and allowing probably 50% capacity for indoor dinning. SERVICE It's always excellent at this Alameda location. The staff are always very friendly and happy to greet us. Mask enforced, social distance enforced during covid. There are hand sanitizers in the restaurant. WHAT I ORDERED Double double Cheese burger Animal fries well done Get well done fries if you like your fries very crispy! This time around I didn't get enough sauce for my fries. Better luck next time. Otherwise, food quality is good and fresh. I waited probably less than 10min for my order. It wasn't that long wait, I always found it interesting to watch the kitchen staff prepare food. This in n out kitchen is open concept, ppl bc an watch them cook and prep food. I love the open concept design so customers can see how kitchen staff prep the food and the equipments used. I'm mostly impressed by the potato slicer machine! read more

Haven't been in a long time. Stopped in tonight since the line was actually shorter for a change. Honestly disappointed. Everything was just meh. Shake was the best part. The burger and fries were very sub par. And cold. Everything was super cold and tasted like it was sitting out for a while. Huge disappointment. Staff was very friendly. Even at the shortest still a 20 min wait. Wasn't worth it unfortunately. Super disappointed. not wasting my time or money here anymore. read more

In-N-Out Burger has returned to full-service post covid-19. This location is doing a great job keeping the restaurant clean. One worker continuously roaming around cleaning tables and other surfaces. Service is still fast and friendly. Small outdoor dining area also. Best prices in all of fast food. I don't understand the long line for the drive-thru, but I'm more than happy to tolerate it. because the long line to the drive-through means very short lines inside. read more

I don't know why I bother with this location. The fries are never hot, the cheese is never melted, they never put enough sauce. I'm a California native, I've been going to In-N-Out my whole life, I know what animal style fries are supposed to look like. Plus the prices keep going up and the portions get smaller. I went through the drive thru today and had to take my order back inside to get it redone. The person at the counter said oh yeah, the cheese gets cold while they're sitting. Why are you serving fries that have been sitting out? I'm so annoyed. read more

I took my food to-go. I had the Citric Hot Chicken Sandwich w/ Seasoned Fries. I liked the Citric Hot Chicken Sandwich. It was spicy, but not numbing hot. The slaw sort of smoothed out the spicy heat. It's made from thigh meat, so it's moist and easy to eat. I didn't like the seasoned fries. They cut the potatoes into thin fries that don't travel well as takeout. Probably okay if you ate them right there, fresh from the kitchen. If I go back, I'm just getting a sandwich.....no fries.

Very happening even though the surrounding area is a ghost town. Dining area not too big, maybe a couple of rooms that can hold about 20-30 heads each. Think there's another room for a private party/overflow. Decor pretty minimalist and stark. Service on the upscale side but in my stay, matched the decor, very minimalist and stark. Efficient enough but a little terse with little emotion. But I know service personality can differ from time to time or person to person. Just my obsy for one out. Daily Crudo ($20/4*) I think this rotates daily. Our choices that day was hamachi or a house smoked sturgeon. The sturgeon really piqued my interest but then it really wouldn't be a 'crudo' anymore would it, since I relate crudos to something 'raw-ish'. So I chose the hamachi. Very pretty plating, I love symmetry and balance. The thin slices of hamachi were indeed fresh, sitting in a stealthy pool of yuzu and olive oil. There are some fresno pepper slices and microgreens that garnish and a delicious nori cracker to break and accompany the crudo. This went really well with my glass of Fume Blanc. Caeser ($17/4.5*) We split this salad as their version sounded super cool. A miso-tinged Caeser dressing, lots of rustic garlic croutons and feathery soft grated parm and a soft-boiled egg. I love properly made Caesers and this was one of the best and unique versions I've ever had. The umami punch and the diverse textures just hit with me. A tad salty for a salad, but the crunchy and refreshing lettuce was able to absorb the salt blast. Huge salad too, like ideal for splitting and ridiculously large if for 1. Beef Short Rib ($43/4*) This was on special that night, and since I wasn't feeling Steak Frites (their only other beef entree option) this kinda fell on my lap. Very heavy and hearty dish. The short rib part was impeccable, super tender, gotta be sous vide. Perfectly seasoned with braising elements completely penetrated into the meat. There was a coarse gravy/sauce that covered which was okay, may have been the braising liquid just pureed. Served atop a huge pile of some risotto that I didn't inquire about. This risotto is what made the dish especially heavy. I ate most of it and it put me in a heavy carb coma. Lol. But there was a nice serving of perfectly cooked broccolini which helped balanced out the rich beef and carb heavy risotto. Chocolate Bar ($13/4.5*) Shared this for dessert as I really couldn't take more than just a few bites after the filling entree. But was this impressive, like high end dessert quality. Whoever does the desserts here definitely has some pedigree. The precision cut bar consisted of 3 layers. A brownie layer; a Bailey's mousse; and a salted caramel layer. I was loving the texture of all the different layers playing on one another. And every flavor was distinct without being overly sweet, which hit the right chords with me. A thick ganache garnished off to the side, which was good but just seemed a bit overkill with the already chocolate dominant bar. I think a cream element would have been a better contrast instead of rich chocolate on rich chocolate. But very minor quip on an otherwise skillful dessert. I finished the last few sips of my glass of Rhone with this dessert, and it left me one happy camper. I would definitely return as their style with flavors hits an accord with me. Since moving to the neighborhood earlier this year, I have walked past TrueBurger quite a few times on my way to/from the 19th Street BART Station, and I was excited to give it a try. I was initially thinking I would get a burger, but my friend had to postpone getting together until the mid-afternoon, so I ate lunch at home and opted for a milkshake when we met a couple hours later. I had seen a special coconut shake on the menu on the TrueBurger website; I'm a big fan of most things coconut, and especially ice cream. I was eager to taste the shake...and my excitement quickly turned to disappointment when I realized it was just a vanilla shake with shredded coconut. Why is TrueBurger trying to pass this off as a coconut shake? It's far less novel, but it's perfectly acceptable to only offer vanilla and chocolate shakes. The mix-ins actually put them one step ahead of much of the competition, but misleading customers is never okay. To add insult to injury, I have tried reaching out to TrueBurger via email, and management is incredibly unresponsive. They could have easily fixed this by offering me a refund or asking me to come back in for a shake on the house. Do better, TrueBurger.
