On our way back home to KC, we stopped here for an early lunch. It was my first time eating here and my husband had eaten at the one in Vegas. Here is my experience: Location: 9/10 I am not really familiar with this area, but I loved the fact that the In and Out was near a highway. It was not crowded at first, but as it got closer to noon, the place filled up quickly with the after church crowd. Customer Service 8.5/10 We ate in and it is mainly counter service. They give you a number after you order. Everyone was pretty laid back, personable, and did not rush us to order when we were looking over the menu. They seemed to enjoy working with each other and having a good time. Bonus points to them for keeping the place clean! Food: 9/10 We waited about ten minutes before we were called for our food. We opted for burger and fries. The food was hot, fresh and it had good flavor and appreciated the decent portions, which was the perfect amount. Our meal was $30 which is standard for the two of us to eat out. I appreciated how fresh the tomato and lettuce was and the beef patty was wonderful too. It was definitely an elevated McDonald's burger and in my opinion, better than Whataburger. Overall: 8.8/10 The food was hot and fresh and everyone was nice. Went on a Saturday night. The restaurant had a decent amount of people but there was ample seating for everyone. The cashier was so friendly and helpful. We made a food order and a gift card order. She even offered a water cup while we waited (which wasn't even long)! The burgers are very standard but I think they do it quite well to be honest. I've tried a couple locations in Dallas and have noticed that the burgers are not too greasy or soggy compared to my experiences on the west coast. They hold up well and adding grilled onions is my fave! For a cheeseburger meal + animal style fries and a hamburger meal + a milkshake it came out to about $20. Haven't been to a In-N-Out spot since I was last in San Diego back in 2011. I figured I'd stop by since I was driving past it. It wasn't busy at all and the place was pretty clean. The guys behind the counter had the white fitted creased hats with the matching outfit. Creases so sharp you can slice up a brisket . Looking at the menu I was a little disappointed that there were limited options. Then I realized it's always been like this. I usually dont eat burgers without bacon. But, we ended up order the double burger meal. The Buns were nicely cooked, golden brown and fluffy. The presentation was great. Fries are golden thin and freshly cut. The Burger tasted ok...not having bacon was a deal breaker for me... The 4 stars are mainly for the cleanliness, presentation, and service. But it's not enough for me to come back. It's been a while since we've lived near an In n Out so we're very familiar with the menu and what you get. What we weren't prepared for was three amazing service we got from Paul behind the counter. He was prompt, friendly and efficient with a smile. While we waited, he never stopped moving, doing all the little things like checking garbage, filling up straws and condiments and ensuring everything was clean. Some items are not listed on the menu but ask and they will help out. The selection is small to keep consistency high and ordering easy. Yes it may take 7-10 minutes to get your order, but it is MADE TO ORDER No heat lamps and NOTHING is frozen! They cut their own tomatoes, onions and lettuce. They have their own meat processing plants to distribute to their OWN stores. They even have their own bread baked specifically for them. Let's see any other fast food place do that! The staff here is always friendly and if something is wrong, they will promptly correct it. Damn good burgers. Was my first time trying In-N-Out. I was in Dallas for the holidays, and thought to grab a burger or two (or three) while in town. I should warn you, however, that In-N-Out isn't going to blow your socks off and render other burger chains worthless. In that sense, it *is* overhyped. The burgers are good. If you go on their website, you can check out some of their "secret" (well, open secret) menu items, like Animal Style burgers/fries. Protein Style is also an option, replacing the standard burger buns for a lettuce wrap. The burgers are fresh. The bun is soft and toasted. The patties are juicy and well-seasoned. The lettuce and tomatoes are also crisp. And the thousand island-like sauce they use is delicious too. I wasn't too big of a fan of the Animal Style variants, though. Too much sauce. It's overload. The fries (Animal Style or not) are also bland. Fresh? Yes. But bland. I'll give the place five stars regardless, though, for its superb customer service and fresh ingredients. Oh, and their colorfully designed trays and wrappers! Would I go back? Absolutely. But I still prefer Five Guys (especially their fries). The main advantage In-N-Out has is the pricing; it's just ~$4 for a burger! That's far cheaper than Five Guys, and the quality/taste is close enough (except the fries). We've stopped here in the past and both the burgers and the fries were delicious. The burgers were meaty and flavorful and the fries were thin and fried to melt in your mouth. Then a couple weeks ago, something changed and the burger is just so so and the fries taste like they'd been frozen too long. They were mealy. Not good. If they'll just look into this and correct the problem, then they'll be good again. We went through the drive through and the window service was excellent. I hope they fix the problem. read more
