Good (nothing amazing) burgers and fries. Staff are polite. They're always busy, but seem to handle it efficiently. There's usually an employee standing outside at night in the drive-thru to take the orders as the cars roll up. This seems to expedite handling of the orders, and also eliminates the noise from the speaker on the ordering board. You can never go wrong with an in-n-out burger! Their food is never frozen- I know this cause a friend of mine used to work there and they would get food deliveries EVERY morning. I call them 'healthy fast food'! The menu is so simple; burgers fries and a drink. They do have some secret menu items that you can add on as well but the simple menu allows them to work quickly and efficiently. Everyone in the kitchen seems like they are all on the same page and they've got a great system in place. And they're always super friendly! I ordered their #2. I added grilled onions and chili peppers to the cheeseburger and upgraded the fries to animal style which is grilled onions, with their "secret" sauce and cheese on top of the fries! ROADTRIP Tradition! Visted this In-n-out on my way back to SD from the bay area. It is a little ways off the freeway so not as convenient to get in-n-out of... haha. Overall, services was friendly. I like how they have someone outside taking your order rather than just the speaker box. It is more personal and makes you feel like you are being taken care of more quickly even when the line is wrapped around the parking lot and appears like it will never end haha. Love this place! Everything is super good! I especially love the animal style fries sprinkled with sauteed onions! Anyone from out of town should at least try the animal style fries. I've been to this location enough to know that they're consistent at the dine-in counter. I usually stop by after working out at 24-Hour Fitness. Yes, that may seem counter-productive, but I work out hard and those calories are burned off by the time I'm done eating my combo. My usual; #1, no salt meat - well done, no salt fries - well done, comes out perfect every time. Unfortunately, seating can be limited during busy hours, and nonexistent during the busiest times. This is where I have to drop a star. Many of the In N Outs I've been to have lots of outdoor seating, but this place has 4 setups. So, in reviewing I have taken account to how good their listening skills are. Me: Can I get a #1, well done, no onions, with fried ketchup & mustard but NO PICKLES!!!!!! Employee: We don't put pickles on our burgers. Sometimes I look first, sometimes I trust them and drive off. In this case I trusted them, took my first bite and BAM...pickles. I can't even stand the taste of the juice after I pick them all out (they put 4 pickles). I always call corp. when this happens and I read them the receipt. When they add fried mustard there is another button that needs to be pushed for no pickles so next time instead of saying "ok" and thinking I'm being difficult how about you actually listen to me. I went through drive thru and ordered burger and fries. Everyone was friendly, until the last lady who handed me my food. She started friendly, until I asked for some spread. I get that I asked twice so that I can get more than one spread; I get that's annoying and I should've specified the first time. However, I asked nicely and just give me some spread without looking at me with attitude. By the way, my order didn't even come with any ketchup; that should be standard when it comes to any fast food restaurant that serves burger and fries. Boy do I LOVE In N Out! So why the three stars you ask? Well honestly I don't think it's so much the employees fault as perhaps management or someone who is trying to save money or hours. You know how they always have like a million workers working as if they were in a factory all in line passing the burger on to the next person and so on? Well this In N Out only has 3 sometimes 4 employees working at a time. I know it sounds incredible. I feel bad for them because they have to do twice the work. Now what does that mean for the customer? Your wait is waaaayyyy longer than at a usual In N Out. Don't expect to ever get out of the drive-thru under 20 minutes. Stopped in for an early lunch on our way to Palomar. Like all In-n-Outs, this location is kept clean and the service is fast and friendly. Food came out as ordered and everything was pleasant. So why only 2 stars? Well, the meat patties seemed rather thin, almost absent to be honest. I ordered a Double-Double and while I was eating, I forgot that I ordered a Double and thought I had a single. We got here at about 11am so it wasn't too busy, but at noon, a flood of people appeared and we were outta there. Not the most pleasant of crowds to be honest. Oceanside's first In N Out because technically the 1 by the 78 is in Vista and the other 1 nearest use Oceansiders is in Carlsbad. Great visibility from both sides of the 76. A little weird it backs up the some houses so the rowdy late night crowd can get them in trouble, but then again so can the 24 Hour Fitness people. It's your basic In N Out. You've been to 1, you've been to them all, but this is a bit more time dependent on when you should go here. You have about an hour or 2 per night that isn't dominated by teenagers especially Fridays and Saturdays either congregating in front or inside. Every time, without fail, that I have gone to this In-N-Out location, they have managed to mess up my order or the order of whoever I am with. And it's not just small mistakes. It's entire burgers forgotten on the order, fries or shakes paid for but not given to us, burgers that were supposed to be protein style or grilled cheese having buns or meat when they should not. This happens regardless of the time of day, or the busyness of the restaurant. This kind of consistent mistake making isn't a problem that comes with drive through workers mishearing an order or cooks forgetting something, this is a sign of very poor management. Amazing there must have been30-40 cars in the drive through. I drove around the line and did the unimaginable. I WALKED inside. There were 3 or 4 customers inside the building, waiting for orders. The person taking your order as well as the person you pay are always nice but it always throws me off at the last window, no pun intended.
