FIRSTIES! FREAKING HELL YEAH! Today has been one of the best days ever! First I get a call from the Rockwall District Attorney telling me my no seatbelt ticket was dismissed from a year and a half ago because I requested trial by jury and there was not enough evidence to pursue my case. Next, I learned from a co-worker that In-N-Out had finally opened. Then the Rangers clenched a win in the Top of the 9th! Now, not only did I get to eat a delicious Double Double Animal Style after work (which I got off early from bc the World series destroyed our business, I. e. we are not a sports bar), but I also get to be the first one to review In-N-Out Rockwall on Yelp! I need to go by a lottery ticket or something because today is my lucky day! What can be said that wasnt already said in my review of the other In-N-Out? A few things! This In-N-Out was not really busy, so if you are looking for a place to try out these magnificent burgers that doesnt have lines that are 5 miles long, come here! The tomatoes on my burger were fall apart mealy, but my girls were perfect. Could just have been an off slice, next time (and there will be plenty of those) I will follow up and if its not right I will make a scene and tell them they are ruining the In-N-Out brand and should all go to hell. No, not really, but I will ask for a new slice and tell them they should be ashamed themselves. I got the fries "well done" this time and they where actually very good, nice crispy golden outside, almost like a pommes frites style. All other aspects of the burger where great! Not sure what all the hype is about, but it is fairly good for fast food. I would put it above it competitors McD's and BK, but I won't come running here when I'm craving a burger. I know several other Houstonian Yelpers did a UYE and drove up to Dallas just for In-N-Out, but I can't find the magic. We had it first in California and the hubby was very into it, and I got into a little bit of trouble when he found out I knew they had In-N-Outs in Dallas and I didn't tell him. Much less one a mile away from my Aunt's house we just so happen to be visiting. So after Christmas festivities we grabbed a late night snack. It was nice because it was one of the few places open late. We used the drive-thru and service was super quick. We were a little thrown off by being asked if wanted our food left open so we could eat it in the car. Interesting, we said "no" but the burgers were still unwrapped. This time around I got my burger without the weird thousand island dressing and it was sooo much better. I'm just not the salad dressing-burger type person. Their fries were very lack luster and tasted kinda like lettuce. I don't know how they get that type of flavor in there, but there is was. So I ended up having an In-N-Out Burger and fries waiting on me when I got home one day. I must say I was not looking forward to it. I went when the craze first hit the D. I was more than underwhelmed. Surprisingly, it was very fresh tasting. I did not even warm it up. I thought everything was very preserved and not soggy or mushy as fast food can often be after it's been sitting there a while. It was a pleasant surprise. Maybe my expectations were a bit high. Many of my friends from California sing the praises of the In-N-Out. So many, that I was expecting some kind of glorious hamburger experience. The meal was good, but it didn't live up to the hype. For the uninitiated, there is a simple menu. Burgers and Fries. In-N-Out advertises freshness, and I have to admit that the beef tasted somewhat better than other fast-food burger meat. The toppings were crisp and fresh, and my 10-year-old even complemented the taste of the bun. We didn't try the shakes. The restaurant itself is very clean and the staff is obviously well-trained and friendly. The "never frozen" french fries were really good -- the best part of the place, IMHO. Would I choose In-N-Out over Wendy's, BK, Carl's Jr., or McD's? If I wanted a burger and fries, absolutely. Would I drive ten minutes out of my way for it? I was an In-N-Out hater. I'm not from CA, I don't even really like burgers usually. However, I wanted to give this place a try, without taking into consideration my disdain for the absurd hype. Is it as good as the hype? No. Is it a decent fast food burger? Yes. Service was fast despite it being packed and the folks working were super nice. Menu is super small but that's okay. I enjoyed my burger and fries. Not a fan of putting religion on your food wrappers but I wouldn't have noticed it was there if I wasn't expecting it. I can deal with keeping it tasteful. I can't stand Whataburger. Usually Wendy's is my favorite burger. I can say though that In-N-Out has taken its place and is my favorite *fast food* burger joint now. On Wed, Oct 7 at 9:56pm, we drove up to the drive thru at Rosa's Cafe to order food but the employees were too busy playing around. They greeted us giggling, then disappeared and never returned, even though we kept calling 'hello!'. We drove over to In n Out and were welcomed sweetly by a young lady who repeated our order back to us and wished us a good night. Rosa's lost their chance and I wondered where management was....but our food from In n Out was hot, delicious and the service could not have been more PERFECT. Whaattt????? Three stars for In-N-Out???? My favorite???????? I came to In-N-Out expecting the same mind-blowing experience I get out on the west coast. I can only attribute my disappointment here at this restaurant to it either being new, or being in Texas. Year after year I eagerly await my journey out to California where I can enjoy the wonderful goodness of In-N-Out, and I'm never disappointed--ever. This time, my 4 hour drive up to Dallas left me feeling full, but not delighted. It's hard for me to put my finger on exactly what was different. Maybe the fries were slightly under-cooked. Heard a lot of praises on the food here. Took my family in one night and they got every order wrong. Burgers were dripping with grease. They were just thrown together. Not to my expectation. When the drive through line is wrapped around the building, it's just faster to get out of the car and go inside sometimes. Tonight was one of those nights. After 4 hours of Christmas shopping, sitting in traffic, etc. I wanted to get something to eat and every drive through in the area was wrapped around the building. So after cruising through a couple of places I decided to just get out and go into In N Out, glad I did, the Double Double hit the spot as always. The best thing about In N Out is that the taste is real food, not chemical laden meat and potatoes. So many people try to compare other fast food fries with In N Out and don't like them, but what they don't understand is they are eating real unadulterated potato at In N Out, not mashed up potato with sugar & chemicals added, formed into a fry then frozen. Yuck! But the younger set has been raised on plastic foods doused with sugar, corn syrup, and other chemicals so that when they taste real food they don't like it. Same with the meat the other fast food places have so many chemicals, sugars and fillers that their hamburgers qualify for mystery meat, and certainly don't taste like what meat is suppose to taste like. That's why when I want a burger I will drive out of my way to go to In N Out at least I know I am getting read food and not a chemical cocktail formed into food. The taste is original and it seems as though so many try to duplicate, so many unsuccessful attempts. Growing up in California for 15 years, I've had my fair share of trying all the different In-N-Out restaurants throughout California. They all have semi-slow service (because they make it fresh), semi-clean (some are just so busy and in a bad area of town it seems more dirty-ish), and the 50's style dinner is outdated, although still somewhat cool looking, I guess. I had the cheeseburger and fries. The burger was good, but the patty wasn't near the size of the bun. My last three bites were meat free. Also, the way they stack the burger is not to my liking. This is one of those places I took for granted when I was living at home in Cali. I didn't miss it much because I didn't go too often. It got a lot of hate when people heard it was coming. The ladies at my gym trashed it but made it quite obvious they had never been. Hint: Don't get anything smaller than a double double. Be sure to order it "Animal Style" which is from the secret menu. This is my 3rd time ever having an In N Out burger. I got a hamburger with extra sauce and fries. The burger was tasty and juicy with fresh, crunchy lettuce, onion, and tomato. My experience last night was horrible. I've gone to In N Out in both Tx and Ca and I must say I will never go back to this location. I was driving home from out of town so I stopped here for a veggie burger, fries and drink. First my bread was hard and there was no pickles when I asked for extra pickles. So I asked them to remake it and they did. I was so tired and tired of waiting that when they made it the second time I figured they would get it right, so I just bit I to my veggie burger or so I thought. They had put meat yes MEAT on my veggie burger and I haven't eaten meat since 2005!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so upset. My food was ruin among other things!!!! I took one bite of meat and I'm sure I swallowed some and spit the rest out. My stomach hurt because of the murder meat!!!!!!!!!!!! I should have sued! read more

I just don't get it! What is all the excitement about? Granted... I don't eat fast food that often but this place was such a disappointment. I refer to it as a "mealy" meal! I've waited for years to try out this chain. Thankfully there's a random community of about a dozen In-N-Outs throughout Dallas. Drive thru customer service was unbelievably friendly, almost to the point of joyous insanity. From the continuous "alrighty" to the offer to put your food in a box so you don't have to lose calories opening up a bag. We were also offered "lap mats" to keep our pants safe from what I could only assume was some sort of impending sauce doom, which made me wonder if they should just strap on a feed bag. Kindness has never made me feel so disgustingly fat. As for the cheeseburger, it was a good size and had a great bun. Though the meatburger itself wasn't really anything notable. Do not get onions or tomato unless you really really like them, because you get a lot. Way too much for my taste. Everything seemed very fresh though. Overall, I'd stop by again if a friend really wanted to go, but probably not otherwise. Everybody hyped this place up way too much I think, setting it up for disappointment. read more

Pretty standard as far as In N Out goes. I lived in CA in my twenties and found there food much more enjoyable then Than now. Im a mom with two kiddos and unfortunately INO just doesn't fit my lifestyle any more. No kids meals, although they do have milk, and no changing tables in the restroom. read more

I'm giving a 3star here because the burgers were good and I liked the fries. I appreciated the simplicity of the menu and on my visit they were not nearly as crowded as I've seen other places. I don't want to sound too Gulf Coast vs West Coast but Whataburger does everything I want and the way I want it without codes or secrets. This is my go-to place for a cheap, fast-food cheeseburger that is pretty darn awesome for the price. 5-stars because I can't imagine going anywhere else (for a cheap, fast-food cheeseburger, mind you). We tried 5 Guys, Burgers and Fries, and it was ridiculously expensive for what you get ($6 for a cheeseburger that is so greasy you have to plan on a hospital bill afterward for when you go into cardiac arrest). In 'n Out, you get an awesome cheeseburger for, I dunno, $2.50 or something, and all the veggies are super fresh. It's just right in my book. The fries are fine. They're fries. They give you a huge amount, too. I like no-frills fries, personally, but will probably try animal-style next time. The staff is always up a notch from your average fast-food joint. It's my understanding they're paid decently, and they always seem thrilled to be selling cheeseburgers. They are mighty fine cheeseburgers, after all. Maybe they get free ones, and that's why they're so happy. The only downside is that the Rockwall location is often so packed you can't get a seat, or the drive through is backed way up, but that isn't enough to make me reduce the stars from five. read more

Why eat here? There are a dozen other places within 1 block: Forget hyperbole and the usual adjectives and superlatives. This is a successful business model. The food is always good. The menu is so simple you can't really overspend. Reminiscent of McDonalds decades ago when you could get a hamburger and a cheeseburger. McD forgot the fundamentals but In N Out gets them right. Seriously great customer service. Always positive, always friendly, always efficient. The staff is young but it's amazing how they have been trained to take care of business and they execute extremely well. I recommend the single cheeseburger with grilled onions - and a family tip is share an order of fries, don't feel obligated to order the combos. read more
