This spot is fast but I've gone here 7-9 times and they've gotten my order right TWICE. I love In N Out but this one in particular can't seem to get my order right. All I want to add is ketchup, mustard, and chili's. If the chili's are missing then it has ketchup and mustard, if the ketchup and mustard are missing, then it has chili's. I drove over 3 hours to get to this In-n-out... and it was worth it. I currently live in New York City, but I'm originally from San Diego. When I was home for Thanksgiving this weekend, I was getting kind of bored and was trying to figure out what to do. Because there is no In-n-out on the east coast, I came to the reasonable conclusion that I should get In-n-out while I'm on the west coast. However, I've been to In-n-out dozens of times. Sure I could just go to the local In-n-out down the street from me in San Diego. But I decided to make a little adventure out of it. I randomly decided to head east and see if I came across any In-n-outs. After about an hour of driving, I came across an In-n-out in El Centro, CA and was tempted to stop at this location. But then I had a full-on Forrest Gump moment. I thought, "Shoot... now that I've gone this far, I should just go to Arizona. I'm sure there's an In-n-Out there." And that's exactly what I did. I drove my car another couple hours until I got to the Arizona border in Yuma. At this point, I was getting pretty hungry. I had been driving for about 3 hours and was really craving my double-double with fries and a vanilla shake. So I found the nearest In-n-out in Yuma (it's right off the 8 freeway) and dined like a freakin' king. Never had a double-double tasted so good. The anticipation made the experience even more worthwhile. As always, the staff was friendly and the food was great! I highly recommend this In-n-out location. It was well worth the 3-hour drive (6 hours if you can include the trip to get back). Whenever you're thinking about how much you crave In-n-out but can't muster the energy to drive 10-15 minutes to go pick it up, just remember that some sorry dude drove over 6 hours across state lines to go get In-n-out. And you know what, I don't have one single regret about it. Because In-n-out is worth it. I live in a place where I can't get it every day. Thank you, thank you, thank you to the amazing staff of this In-N-Out. We descended upon this place at 8 PM on a Friday night with roughly 60 starving middle schoolers and teachers. It was our dinner stop on the way from San Diego to Phoenix. We gave them a heads up we were coming, but we knew it would be rough. The staff were nothing but friendly and efficient in the face of all of this! They got all of us through the line very quickly, despite each kid having his or her own order and payment. In n out is sooooooo good! I love having their burgers animal style which has sauteed onions, a special sauce and pickles in addition to the lettuce and tomatoes. Their fries are soooo good. I love their shakes especially the chocolate one. It can get pretty busy, but they really pump out the orders as fast as they can. I've eaten at a number of In-N-Out's and the best thing I can say is that they are consistent. The veggies are always cool and fresh, the fries are just salty enough, but a bit too thin to me, and the place has that California cool about it. However, the meat seems to be an afterthought. I don't think I've ever had a thinner burger in my life. When a patty is that thin it's hard to cook it without burning the juices right out of it - which is why they are always overcooked and dry. I'm still not sure where the oil on the bun comes from because it's certainly not from that paper-thin sliver of meat. I know a lot of people love these burgers, but as someone who loves a good burger these are a huge disappointment. I also think that it should be pointed out that the reference to 5 Guys should be considered only with respect to the coolness of the chain. I don't want anyone to think the the burgers are in any way similar. 5 Guys burgers are fat and juicy, made by hand right there for your order. They're a burger-lover's burger, winning award after award for their flavor. In-N-Out, by comparison, is the ultimate hamburger for vegetarians. Have been to many In-N-Out's but won't go back to this one. We got there at high noon so it was busy, which is always a problem, but worth it if the food is good. The burger was thinner than I had seen before but somewhat tasty. The fries were not fresh tasting. I go there for the fries!! I didn't see how they couldn't be fresh because there were a lot of people there and they seemed to really be slinging the food. But that is how they tasted. I left full but unhappy. I wanted to love this place as it's an in n out and they usually have decent food for cheap prices and this was our second stop for the night after a long road trip and sadly it was such a let down. Their burger patty was raw in a lot of spots which was extremely odd because it wasn't pink all the way through. It was literally pink spotty meat. I didn't eat most of my burger and the fries were lacking. The drinks sadly were also watered down. We ordered at the drive thru window but had to go back in because they forgot to an order of our fries. Yuma was definitely a let down tonight in the Friday late night food scene for sure. I won't be back and I encourage others to stay away as I woke up sick to stomach this morning. Sadly, this location is unable to pull off a simple burger and fries and can't even give you a decent coke or lemonade. I'm almost certain they use Yuma tap water in their drinks as well. Terrible.
