Came in on a Tuesday night & got seated instantly. There's plenty of tables and a nice bar with a television in the corner. You can see into the kitchen from most tables, even still it's a quiet setting. We ordered a ceviche trio, it was FIRE!!! So good, I would come back just for that. We got it spicy, I'll probably get it a little more mild next time though because it was slightly too hot, but the flavors were amazing. My husband got the calamari which was fresh and delicious, served with red onions, lime, & 2 sauces. I ordered the seafood fried rice which was also great. Contrary to other reviews, the portions are very generous. It's more of a family-style dining place than individual meals. we also tried their purple drink which is interesting but good, very fruity and refreshing. Como buena peruana I continued to celebrate my birthday at a different Peruvian restaurant.. This time in the east bay. Trying new places to see if I can find my new "so called favorite" restaurant closer to home. We asked for a Trio Marino and the Jalea did amaze me.. The ceviche on the other hand was over cooked on the outside and raw in the inside which kinda killed the whole ceviche purpose for me at least. The arroz con mariscos was just "meh". We shared a huancaina that If you're not Peruvian it's delicious.. But I am as Peruvian as a papa amarilla and that my friend.. Was not huancaina. I was a little bit disappointed when it came to the food but the service was great. Our server was very friendly and quite informative. I can appreciate that. It kept us from over ordering and wasting food. I would probably come back to give their ceviche the benefit of the doubt. I'm a big time seafood person. read more

We arrived at 12:20 pm and we left at 1:50 PM, not because we were so into visiting with each other and enjoying the food, but because the food came very very late. To add to that, the service sucked, and the waitress was giving us an attitude. The worse was when the food finally came, the rice was undercooked, and the beef was tough. The cook came over with a cell phone in her hand talking to the owner. She has the nerve to tell us that no one ever complain about her food...well good for that, but today, I am telling her that the rice is not cook and the beef is tough. The excuse is because she is there all by herself and they are short handed. Well I looked around the room and there are only 6 customers including us. Instead of apologizing she is arguing with us. When the bill came, not a cent was discounted. I would definitely gave them ZERO if I could. I came all the way to San Francsico for this experience...when I could have gone to Fresca? Terrible service. Mediocre food. Hate to give bad reviews as a peruvian but have no choice. Took a long while to get someone to take our order; then we asked why was the break taking that long; we were told they were heating it up. When they brought the bread it was cold (????). It took also a long time for the Pescado a lo macho to arrive but the Paella never came. We left in disgust. We are simply not coming back. Prices on the high side for what you get. The food here is good but the customer service here sucks! I will never go back to this place nor will recommend it to anyone else. I placed an order over the phone for pick up (Arroz Con Mariscos) and once I arrived I didn't have what I ordered, instead they gave me (Chaufa de arroz con mariscos) I asked the lady that helped me that there must have been a confusion and asked if they could change my order. I wish I read Yelp before going to Incas. No one was at the door to greet us when I first walked in. The kitchen staff looks out of the little window and does not aknowledge our presence. We wait about 5 minutes for someone to come out..mind you the restaurant is completely empty except for two tables. We ordered in 2 minutes and informed our waitress that we are on our lunch our so she can rush our order. She said, we have to wait .. WE WAITED 5O MINUTES for our lunch order. The restaurant had only two other tables to deal with. She was very inexperienced. She never smiled or was welcoming. I'm being nice by giving it one star but it was one of the worst experiences I've had. Even thought the restaurant was empty during lunch time and there were eight of us the food took a very very long time to serve us. They forgot someones meal and served it when the rest of us had almost finished eating. The worst part is that my co-worker found a rubber band in her food and the supervisor did not even bother to apologize. By the end of the meal we were ready to go when my coworker received a bill for having chicken decorated with the rubber band. It was an embarrassment then suddenly they realized what they did and took the bill back. I have read some of the reviews it sounds about right. Bad customer service, long time to serve, and the food is alright. The best Peruvian food place in the East Bay. Sure you can drive into the city and fight the traffic, pedestrians, parking meters and bridge toll, however that's completely unnecessary. Great food. The chef is really nice! This place would be 5 star if the waitresses provided better/honest service. While attending with my father, mother, brother, and boyfriend our waitress was not very pleasant. She was barely around. She brought over a jug of water and when we looked closer it was d i r t y. It looked like backwash. Yuck! Also, she included an 18% tip on the bill. This would be okay if it was a usual thing, but never in my other visits or my parents have they included the tip in the bill. The food is expensive, one would expect decent service. Had an awful experience today. We've been coming to Inca Grill at least a couple times a month for several years. The food is delicious and never does dissapoint. The service however is another story. While its always hit or miss depending on who is the server that day, I had never had a terrible experience like today. Came here with my husband and daughters. We ordered ceviche and anticuchos and specifically asked the waiter for a child size order of vegetarian tallarines (noodles w broccoli) and my husband ordered his dish of mondonguito a la italiana. My ceviche and anticuchos came. No problem. Then a full order of tallarines came. I called it out to the server who said no problem I will adjust the cost. Fine. We ate. My daughters and I almost finished and my husbands food never came. Our drinks were never refilled either. After almost 25 minutes since part of our order came, we ask about the remaining dish. The server acted stupid and went back to the computer to check. Comes back a few minutes later with a dumb excuse saying they were still finishing cooking it. Another 5-10minutes pass and my husband loses it. He calls another server and asks to cancel the order and get our check. Our original server comes all stupid and says he doesnt know what happened. Never took responsibility for bot putting the order in. Our family dinner ruined. Then brings the bill and says he charged us for my husbands dish because it costs the same as the tallarines. Mind you it was just noodles and broccoli and was supposed to be adjusted. I'm already mad as can be and refused to pay $20+ for noodles! My husband asks to speak to the manager. The server comes back and tells us the manager cant come cause he's too busy!! WTF! End of story, husband had to walk up by to the kitchen counter to talk to the manager who basically just says sorry and does nothing to remediate and save a long time customer. I demand to have the noodles adjusted and pay the bill and walk out. Such awful customer service and my husband never ate. Just awful. Our family dinner ruines. Never coming back! read more

To the owner: If you'd like your restaurant to thrive (or at least survive): - make sure your greeter acknowledges the arrival of customers, instead of ignoring them while talking to her friends; - make sure you have experienced/well trained staff (and more than one at lunch time, please); - orders taken within five minutes, drinks and fresh/hot bread at the table soon after; - customers informed of waiting time - customers should not wait more than 15 min for their meal, but if problems/delays arise be ready to offer appetizers or something , but ALWAYS acknowledge the presence of your patrons; - walk your dining room: this applies if you are the owner or the manager in charge - this might be as important as the quality of the meal, because by overseeing, you make sure everything is ok, and everybody's happy. Unfortunately, everything I'm describing here did not happened last Saturday, 07/31/10. I'm Peruvian, and my husband wanted to take me out for lunch that day... We waited for over 30 minutes, while seeing everything going wrong around us while the owner or manager was entertaining some friends. This is not good customer service - it is not even standard in Peru (I need to say it). And if we were guests at your home, it'll be considered extremely rude. But this is your business, and you just lost (more than) two customers. read more

An old friend and I found this place a few years back when it had it's grand opening, we ate there once and I hadn't returned until yesterday, I went with my family. It was good then and still good now, they seem to have gotten a lot more business recently. It is pricey how ever you do get significant portions for your money, how ever the drinks are significantly over priced. I love my inca kola, but i can get a 2 liter for UNDER $2 down the street at the mexican market (they carry a small variety of peruvian products as well), rather than paying $2 for a CAN. Other than that, the staff is very friendly, it is family owned. I personally favor the picante de mariscos, which is a creamy seafood dish served with rice. I would definitely return but sharing my plate with some one, it's cheaper and that way we don't have to have left overs to bring home. I personally don't care for reheated seafood. And the fact that I would be willing to drive a half hour away for Peruvian food, when I myself am part Peruvian, and could easily prepare authentic dishes myself, says a lot about the food. read more

The food is by far the best and most authentic Peruvian food in the Bay Area especially for the prices and portions. Really big portions for pretty decent price. Love Peruvian food. Sure, most of the local renditions have been "Americanized" but the true fusion of indigenous, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, etc. influences make for a fantastic array of ingredients and flavors. Incas Grill food is an excellent rendition of this concept with great portions and flavors making the majority of their meals very very satisfying. Go in with an appetite. Prices are reasonable and for the quality and amount of food you get, tough to beat. The "Pescado a la Macho" is hearty, tasty and so full of fresh seafood atop a delicious slab of fried fish.I have had most of their seafood meals and have not been disappointed. Friends and co-workers have had their various meat dishes and all have been very happy waddling out after dinner. The ambiance is a little too lounge like, but really actually comfortable. The tables are spaced apart so as to not be intrusive with fellow diners. Wide screen TV's usually are tuned into a sports event. Service is friendly and can be slow, but not painfully slow. They seem to care. Since Alejandro's on Clement Street closed years ago, Fina Estampa (Van Ness Closed), Inkas on Valencia, Mi Lindo Peru, Limon in Noe Valley, Fresca in West Portal, are all acceptable and even pretty darned good, but overall, this lounge like restaurant located in a non-descript strip mall in the middle of the very non-hip 'bucolic 'burb of Concord is currently better than all of 'em, for now at least. read more

I took my wife to this restaurant this night, because we haven't been to a Peruvian Restaurant. The waitress was so rude and doesn't show good customer service. We told her it's our first time and ask about their best seller. She doesn't know well about the food they serve. We asked her about Paella, since, there's a Peruvian Paella in the menu. She replied rudely, this is a Peruvian restaurant, we don't have Paella. I showed her the menu which says Paella. Very unprofessional & showed bad customer service. She took my order, while my wife checks some food they have in Yelp. And she suddenly walks out and said, "since, you're still in the phone, I guess you're not ready yet." So disrespectful, knowing its our first time there. My wife was so upset on how she treated us. So, I cancelled my order and just paid for the drink. This lady needs some customer service training.
