Great food! It wasn't cheap. IBut it was fresh and impressive. Its the best Peruvian food I've found outside of someone's home or the one exception in SF. This place is fabulous. I can't believe someone wrote such ugly things about them. My boyfriend who's Mexican and resistant to other food's even asked to go back. And has brought his friends now.. And they even have traditional PEruvian shows on tv as you eat, its a very cool and yummy experience. read more

Service was slow is an understatemenet. Half hour wait then one hour and 15 minutes to get our food. Was going to leave if it wasn't for my family..and the pitcher of sangria. Scratched the appetizer cause the food delay was so long. The food was good but not worth the price. The live music good but way to loud to enjoy any family time. horrible customer service!!!!!!, as i got the waitress attention she came to our table her phone rang when i was trying to ask for more water then she raised her hand to hold my request. she said i have to answer this call. ive looked at my wife we both couldn't believe what we saw, then she walked away. i immediately got up to grab more napkins and untisels, was she expecting us to eat with our hands? since the phone call was more important. plus the prices on the menu are way to high, i do not recommending this place to any one never going to come back here again. read more

Great lomo saltado but it is expensive and slow service. I usually call in my order but twice now I have been placed on hold by a guy and forgotten about, today I stayed on hold for 5 minutes. You hang up and try to call back and get the busy signal. Disappointing. read more

Food was very good and home made. We had the carrot soup, appetizers, 3 different entrées and dessert every one and everything was good not one complaint from our group. The staff was helpful and friendly in suggesting the entrée. It was our first time eating Peruvian food. Highly recommend it. Prices were reasonable. I will be back most definately. read more

I was born in Peru and my mom took me to the Incas Grill for my birthday. The place was pretty empty for lunch but it took like an hour to get served. We kept wondering what was taking so long to get the food to us. Inbetween no bread was offered nor anything else to munch on while we waited. I avoid Peruvian restaurants because the ones I've been to seem too expensive for the amount of food and the fact that many dishes are not compext to make. The food was not bad, not the service was not good. All in all, I was not impressed. I suggest they take care to improve customer service and keep tabs on the tables every so often to see if everthing is going well. I have not had the urge to return. read more

We tried Incas Grill on April 29, 2011. We were looking for a Peruvian restaurant where we could get a take-out meal for 7 people. I read quite a few reviews describing terrible service, long waits, and waiters who didn't know the answers to questions. I don't know how old these criticisms are, but things have certainly changed. We had prompt service, Our food arrived within a reasonable time, and our waitress was friendly, knowledgeble, and very helpful. The food was outstanding and, after dinner, we gave them an order for a takeout dinner for the 7 members of our Gourmet Club. That dinner was a huge success, and our guests all wanted to know the name of the restaurant so they too could dine there. We were a little surprised at the prices at Incas, finding them to be higher than we expected, but the portions are humungous, and both times we had left overs that would supply at least one more meal and might be good for two. read more

'Real' peruvians talk about lack of good peruvian restaurants in Concord. Drove past here many times, decided to try. Peruvian friend mentioned it (I'm also latin, not peru), said it was really good, I should go. Have worked in restaurants, often "dream" of owning/managing my own restaurant, & I'm a people watcher. Look out for things businesses are doing right/wrong, etc. Things I noticed at Incas: 1. Would guess that every other customer in restaurant was peruvian except ME. Odd, but not surpising. Like many other cultures, Peruvians can be very ethnocentric; "all things Peru" are nearly infallible. 2. Service was terrible: got one server first, young, no personality, inexperiences, a little attitude about any question I had, almost distracted or impatient. 3. After a LOOOONG time, someone finally came to take my order, it was a different person. She was also very inexperienced, unprofessional, felt like you weren't in solid hands. 4. As an afterthought while walking away she asks if I want bread while I wait. I say Yes. By this time I'm pretty hungry, a little impatient w/their nonchalance & unapologetic service, though bread was best thing of whole meal. 5. Played salsa music/videos which was loud & up on multiple bigscreen TV's. It didn't bother me, but took away from otherwise intimate or charming intent owner may have. On average music was too loud. Should've played other kind, maybe some rustic pipe Andean highlands music, something a little higher on "culture & arts" level to elevate quality. Bordering a sports bar atmosphere w/TV's. 6. After 10-15 min (this is long in restaurant time), server comes over to tell me they don't have avocado & do I still want salad? Salad's main item was avocado. Why would I still want salad? Was she going to serve me a plate of iceberg lettuce? I cancel salad...keep waiting. 7. After another long lapse, finally food. I ordered a basic chicken dish, rice & potatoes - not rocket science, nothing fancy. It all tasted "good" but nothing that knocked my socks off. French fries were mixed right in w/chicken & sauce which made them soggy. Why didn't they cut up fresh potatoes if that's what they were going to do w/them?! Peru has ton of dishes w/potato, HUGE disappointment to see them take this route on such a common, inexpensive staple. It was surprisingly NOT a huge portion for a latino restaurant, & also b/c of other reviews here. 8. Prices: Upon first look at menu, I was amused by value they placed on their precious "incan" dishes. OK, people, whether it's Peru, Costa Rica, PR, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Brazil, Mexico, or Venezuela (you get my drift), latin food is very similar & it's ALL cheap! I'm talking about basic items: rice, beans, potatoes, chicken, corn, cilantro, tomato, onion, garlic. These are not big ticket ingredients, yet their prices are out of expected range. That wonderful avocado salad I never got: $8. Chicken dish: $14. These should be closer to $5 & $10 respectively. While not BIG $ difference, their average counterparts are about $3-5 LESS. All this adds up, plus in psychological experience. I know prices I've paid for similar latin food my whole life, including Mario's Peru Restaurant in LA! Incas is overpriced, overconfident in food/establishment. Learn to be humble, especially when you drop ball! 9. Service was good to some customers-had lots of spare time to observe. In combo w/other Yelp comments, it's clear their service is hit & miss, mostly miss. I think they are "partial" to their own peeps. 10. Speaking of which - owner got up to hover over another table & up AC which made me super chilly plus heard servers say how too cold as well. It seemed he did it to please a family member. He was sitting w/group of 5 people at area of combined tables. You could tell they were owners, acting like freakin' Sopranos importantos. Quite annoying to see how impressed they were w/themselves. At one point (another long wait for server to pick up check, dirty plates), I saw owner wave to a different server & gesture in my direction. I saw server look over at me & was sure owner was telling him I had been neglected & to go help. Instead kid goes to table next to me to "hurry up" & clear their app dishes that had been done only a few minutes. More disbelief, more preferential treatment. Only thing my server did "above & beyond" was refill soda without my asking. What did she do? She put more soda in glass & didn't refresh ice, so I could taste melted ice mixed w/new soda. Hello?! Waiter School 101. I will likely NEVER return, possibly w/insistent friend, but not of my own free will. Too bad, they have setup to do it right, yet do so much wrong & are still amazingly super proud of themselves! read more

Despite the bad reviews I read, I was still curious to go to this restaurant, especially because I was craving for Peruvian Food. Anyway, my experience wasn't great all. I ordered different appetizers; Lomo Saltado, and waited for 40 minutes; my plate arrived and it was veryyyy salty. Moreover, the price is too high and not justifiable at all. The service was less thank OK. Our server wasn't even busy and forgot to check with us to see if we needed something. I was desperately trying to get her attention to ask for my bill and leave. The place itself wasn't impressive. I mean this restaurant charges as If they are a 5 star restaurant. If they want to keep charging as much as they do, then they need to improve the quality of food and their service. read more

I came back to Incas's after a bad experience some months ago, basically because it took awfully long to get our food served and I wanted to give it a new try. Firts thing I noticed is that is better on weekdays because is not too crowded. I went on Tuesday night and the service was great, some mature more experianced server who apologize for our previous experience and explain us that " good food can't be made at microwave speed". Knowlegdeable on the matter recommended some seafood and a nice chardonnay to pair with it. Food was great as before and it is true that it take some time to get your food, but it was worth it. have been coming to this restaurant for about 6 months and I abosolutely love the food but after the experience I had last Saturday I am never coming back. I've never had any problems with the service, Piero and Greta have been wonderful servers always and then they hire a Spanish guy whom I think was a comedian, he was wonderful as well but I was never served by this young lady who has to be related to the owner otherwise there is no explanation why she has not been FIRED yet! As soon as this lady approached our table we could smell the marijuana coming out her clothes, my husband and I looked at each other and we couldn't believe it. The smell was so strong I had to step outside because it gave me a horrible headache. Her service was horrendous, she was so rude, she never checked on us after the food arrived because she seemed too busy on her phone and making calls at the bar. The next time we saw her was when she brought us the bill which I honestly was very happy I didn't have to see her or smell her while I was eating my food. She give a very bad image to the restaurant and the reason why I will never go eat there AGAIN. read more

Went to birthday dinner with my wife and son last night. There were 8 of us total. The waiter didn't take the menus off of the table after we ordered. Of the 3 items we ordered they didn't have 2 of them. Waiter left the table and forgot one of our party, the birthday celebrant. I had to walk up to the waiter to inform him that he needed to take the order. Slow to get our orders out and when we do they bring out 2 plates, then 5 minutes later 2 more, then 5 minutes later... you get the point. My wife and I ordered the same plate and we got our order last, no big deal but when he brought it out he served me,not my wife. So I give her the plate and visit the restroom while I wait for my plate. The bathroom was dirty, the toilet seat was broken off of the toilet, and there were no seat covers. When I returned to the table I still didn't have my plate. My wife informed me that the waiter did not get the order right and my order was not coming. I am waiting for the waiter so I can stop them from cooking the order. I didn't want the plate. After after 5 minutes or so, I get up to go look for our waiter. I find him around the corner watching videos with his friend on a smart phone. I tell him to cancel the order, and to bring me another beer. He comes to the table with me and refills my uncles soda, and starts to walk away, when I say excuse me sir, as I hold up my empty bottle. He says oh ya, I forgot. I had just asked for it less than 1 minute ago, mind you. Then the waiter brought out my plate that I had canceled. He comped my plate but I didn't want it. Then when I get my bill I see that an 18% gratuity was automatically added to the bill. I guess they had to figure out a way to get tips. I will not be returning. read more

I am a transplant from San Francisco, lived there 38 years before I moved to Concord, my friend is a transplant from Los Angeles. We are both used to eating awesome food that is found in restaurants located in crappy neighborhoods. Both of us are hispanic so we know latin food. Both of us loved our food and the appetizers. The service was awesome typical of family owned restaurants in Latin America. One of the owners came to our table and explained that the food is cooked to order so there would be a delay, no problem good food is always worth waiting for. The other owner was going table to table "bullshitting" with the customers which is typical of owners to do in Latin restaurants. Loved the decor and again big screen satellite tv's typical because we're able to watch soccer games or music videos which is typical of our culture. We were both dressed extremely casual but yet didn't feel underdressed for the environment. Loved it, totally recommend this restaurant. Being from the city this strip mall is nothing compared to the bad neighborhoods I'm used to. read more

I need to confess I was extremely surprised by the poor quality of the food we had during our last visit to this place. It was Valentine's Day and my husband and I invited a friend to enjoy peruvian food claiming our food (I'm Peruvian) was recognized as one of the 5 best foods of the world for two consecutive years. I ordered the Jalea Macchu Pichu. The oily flavor was so strong that you could tell they used recycle oil. I could literally count 2 tiny pieces of fish on top of a mountain of oily calamari and yucas. My husband had the Tallerin Saltado w/meat -meat was hard and the pasta over cooked. The worst was my friend's order -she had Pollo a la Brasa. They told us they didn't have pollo, but the waitress came back and corrected herself. She brought a piece of chicken that was probably from the day before. We also ordered Sangria and we had the first jar which was decent. We asked for one more and waitress said there were no more. Again, she came back and asked to wait for a couple of minutes, then she brought it. The wine they used was white and tasted horrible. We called the manager and he agreed this Sangria was bad and took it back. To end this extremely bad experience, I got food poisoning.... read more

i went here this last friday night and as we walked in i told the host that on friday night i always take my wife out to a new place to try. it happened to be their 6th anniversary of business. they were having a party to celebrate this occasion and told me because of this i needed to pay a $20. cover for each of us to eat dinner. i said no! i will just go try something else and thanks. they said ok come on in we will put you over here in the farthest table from the band as we didn't pay for show. whatever! the food was excellent but. the service was horrible and slow. they never came back to our table. once tbe food was there we never got and additional drinks or a offer for desert (which we wanted) then the bill came and they said you need to pay your bill and leave you cant stay and watch the show!!! rude rude rude. how does any place with this treatment of new patrons stay in business. i recommend going somewhere else and let this place keep there rude environment for theirselves!!! read more
