We live just down the street, and India Beach is our go-to when we want delicious food without cooking. Probably the best Indian food I've had outside of India! We've been ordering delivery since Covid (obviously), and the food always arrives hot. We always expect 40-60 minutes wait time, but I honestly don't mind because I know the food is made fresh! Wow! What a great surprise! I really wish I had found this place sooner. I really love when I go to a restaurant and you can tell they really know what they're doing. The food tasted fresh, was seasoned perfectly, and everything tasted fantastic. I got take out but the restaurant was clean and beautiful. The service was great and I was thrilled I didn't have to ask for sauces or yogurt. I find that most places always forget sauces or yogurt especially for take out. Ive been twice...midweek. No one there except us. First time, service was slow but food was extremely tasty once it arrived. It took 50min to get our food & they forgot the wine. The second visit, the food tasted great but the service hit a new low. Our waiter took 20min to take our initial order. Another 30min to get the food. Again, we were the only patrons! Our waiter never came to see if we wanted more drinks or food. We flagged him down to ask for a dessert menu....we never saw him again! After another 20min, we decided to bail on ordering dessert and pay out. How? Our waiter was gone..entirely! We were alone in the restaurant. We dont dine & dash, so we searched for how to pay out. We found the cook who told us to wait 5min. We did...and asked again. He told us to wait 5min again...no. This time its take our money or we walk! Finally, 2hrs after arrival we paid out, no tip. When your waiter disappears & you have to find the cook in order to settle your check, it's a bad day in the restaurant business. Not sure what is going on but not the same anymore. The portions were so small and the vindaloo was mostly potatoes vs. lamb. The serving sizes were pretty small before now tiny, as the Nan was pretty bad like from a buffet or something. What is up??? My darling husband and I had dinner at India Beach last night. What a wonderful surprise. We used to live near Amber India in Mountain View and had considered that the gold standard. I have been eating light and ordered the tandoori fish. It was perfect... an absolute 10. Well seasoned, wonderful charring from the Tandoori oven and succulent inside. Other awesome dishes: Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Curry, an eggplant dish that seemed like Indian baba ganush was totally Yummers. The only dish that was less than stellar was the lamb naan (Keenan naan). It appeared to have been taken out of the oven a little early and was a but underdone and doughy. Well try it again during our next visit. Taj Mahal beer was good .. A little mild for my taste but went well with the food. Next time I'll have a Stella. STELLA!!! (I couldn't resist) Service: Excellent! Although we stopped in on a busy Saturday night, we were able to get a table right away and the server stopped by within minutes. Noise: Loud ... there doesn't seem to be any sound baffling. The Indian music was lively and really made it a festive atmosphere. Visited this restaurant with my fam, famished and in the mood for good Indian food. We walked in and no one came to the front to host us. One person stood in the back and said nothing. VERY ODD!! Either they did not want to, or could not,serve us. Either way, there's no way a customer should wait on the host, especially when the host knows he's being patronized. I went to this place last weekend with my friends on a trip to Half Moon Bay Point Harbour Side. We ordered Veg Pakoras, Cheese Pakoras and Punjabi Tea. I am giving 3 stars only for tea; it was by far the best Indian Tea I have had in a restaurant in Bay Area. However the pakoras were not that good. Our fingers turned yellow after eating them(probably due to some added color or haldi) and the chickpea flour was not cooked on the inside. The cheese pakodas didn't have paneer in it and it was weird chewy in nature. The ambience is good. read more

This review is for EAT24 delivery. The food used to be really fabulous here, but something has changed (new chef?). Now I'm not sure I'd order again. The saag paneer was a little saucy and I missed the ginger on top that it used to have. The chicken tikka masala was prepared better than in the past (used to be very dry, now it's moist), but it seemed to lack some of the flavors it used to have. The rice was even different, and had red specks (like tandoori chicken?). I did try the keema naan, which I had never tried before, and it was really filling and delicious. Hubs was disappointed with his garlic naan as well - it was covered in turmeric, which he didn't care for. Maybe the issue is more with EAT24 than it is with the restaurant...upon ordering, a little message popped up which said that the chef changed one or more recipes, but I thought to myself "maybe they are using a different type of cooking oil or something and need to say something for people with allergies." I think that's a bit deceiving if owners and/or chefs have changed...they should just say that rather than a vague statement that your food might be different. Anyway, I feel like the food is just okay now, which is a bummer because I was super stoked that there was a delivery option for Indian food in my 'hood. read more

I just picked up two dinners to go (Chicken Coconut Curry and Chicken Saag) and when I got home I was disappointed in the Chicken Coconut Curry. The pieces of chicken were swimming in what I initially thought was a bowl of soup...the chicken itself was tough, not just one piece, all of them...whether they overcooked the chicken or the chicken was cooked a day prior and reheated...Everything else was fine, except for my dinner :( This won't dissuade me from patronizing them since we are all entitled to a mistake from time to time... Foot note: since initially posting my 2 star rating, I got a call from India Beach Restaurant profusely apologizing for not meeting my expectations. They graciously offered to make up for this and reaffirm their commitment to providing good Indian food on the Coast. This gesture bumped them up to 4 stars! read more

We are not locals, but fairly regular to the the area and the restaurant. This place is amazing and the young man who is always there, takes an Interest in every customer. A surprisingly good new Indian restaurant tucked off Hwy 1 just north of Half Moon Bay. The staff is still working out some details, but the food is solid. Predominately northern Indian (plenty of tandoori dishes) with a sprinkling of items from other regions. On my first visit, the Prawns Goan Curry was excellent--perfectly cooked prawns in a creamy coconut sauce that I would be happy to buy by the quart. The Karahi Mushroom dish provided a great counterpoint, the umami of the mushrooms blending seamlessly with the rich combination of spices. The kitchen even makes its own chutney and pickles. The same dish this weekend was a bit different, still good, but with a slightly brighter sauce and with mushrooms cooked for just a moment less. One companion liked the dish equally well while I preferred the first version. The details that still need attention have entirely to do with running a restaurant and nothing to do with the food. Service is polite and friendly, but lacks organization and polish: for both visits no one was available to greet or seat my party when we arrived, on the first visit no server was available for quite a while after the restaurant opened, and on the second visit the server wore so much cologne that it affected the taste of our food. The decor is fairly formal, and even verges on romantic, yet the management seems to be conflicted about what to do for background music, shifting types abruptly, sometimes startlingly loud popular music (reminiscent of Bollywood), sometimes quiet chants that sound almost like prayers, sometimes something else. On my second visit, the restroom could have used attention as well--it appeared that no one had restocked supplies or cleaned since the day before. I'll be back for the food, and I hope the management works out the front of the house details to make the dining experience as good as the dinners. read more

We ordered food to be delivered by grub hub. Painless and easy. Paid and tipped in the order so no need for the delivery person to handle any money. The food came at the time stated. Quick and friendly. Food was hot as like it just came out of the kitchen. That said, the food was really great! I ordered the Punjabi chicken curry, and ask for the hottest heat level on the order app. Now THAT is my kind of heat ! Very tasty and really hot. My wife ordered the butter chicken mild and she loved it also. She said it tasted like butter chicken should taste. We also ordered rice and two different naan breads. One garlic and one goat cheese. Garlic naan was good and typical. The goat cheese naan was a good naan, but couldn't discern a goat cheese flavor. It in my opinion isn't worth the extra price from plain naan. We also had a wonderful lamb dish but I don't remember what it was called. We LOVE LOVE LOVE this family-owned restaurant, it's been our all-time local favorite for several years now. The food is DELICIOUS but even more so we really appreciate how much the owners have gone ABOVE AND BEYOND to make sure their take-out process is SUPER SAFE during the current pandemic. Honestly, since our household includes a high risk person we've been extremely cautious about ordering take-out. I can truly say that I trust India Beach and their dedication to bringing our community the most delectable Indian food while keeping their customers extremely safe. It really seems like they've thought through everything... from the plastic sheets to create a germ barrier at the door to proactively handing back your credit card with an alcohol wipe so you're able to immediately sanitize. They also sanitize the pens used by customers to sign their receipts between each transaction. AMAZING! We just absolutely LOVE this restaurant and wanted to hop on here and give them a huge shout out of APPRECIATION! My friend and I went for dinner last weekend and it was wonderful! I ordered the lamb chops that were marinated in Indian spices and yogurt, then grilled on charcoal. I swear, they were the BEST lamb chops I've ever had. They were so good, I picked up every bone and gnawed on it, trying to get more meat off of them. The flavor was just superb, and they gave me three large, meaty lamb chops - a very generous portion. My friend had the vegetable pakoras, garlic naan, rice and dal, and she couldn't stop raving about them. I texted her today asking when we were going back because I was still dreaming of those lamb chops, and she replied that she loved her meal so much, she's been telling her co-workers about going there.
