We ordered the Dinghy chowder sampler so we could try three different chowders. We came for the clam chowder. I thought the flavor was good, although the texture was a little different for me. The biggest disappointment was the regular clam chowder. We don't eat bacon, and they told us the bacon could not be left out. Since clam chowder was the main reason we came, that really took away from the experience. A few minutes after we ordered, a couple sitting next to us at the bar asked the same question we did: "Is there bacon in the award-winning clam chowder?" When the server said yes, they said, "Okay, never mind. We don't want that." So we weren't the only ones asking. We ended up having the lobster chowder. Overall, 3 out of 5. The experience was okay, but because we couldn't really try the clam chowder we came for, we don't plan to come back.

I was told the reservations would be filling the restaurant within approximately 10 minutes, which seemed highly questionable given the circumstances. Regardless of whether there were reservations or not, the way the situation was handled left me with the impression that customer service was not a priority. After two visits, I unfortunately cannot recommend this restaurant and will not be returning.

And of course you gotta see what they're doing with the seasonal veggies. I can't seem to ever cook squash the right way, but they crafted it into the ideal consistency where it was almost meaty. That New York Strip was out of this world though... the garlic sauce that accompanied it was just enough of a flavor enhancer that it didn't take away from a steak that was cooked to the ideal temp. I'll be back for more!!

We also had a little 'dinghy' of clam chowder, which is their adorable mini serving! Honestly, it's one of the best clam chowders I've ever had. This is BY FAR the best indian restaurant in town, hands down. I have tried almost every indian restaurant in the greater Seattle area. India Bistro Roosevelt, by far, tops all for several reasons. Words cannot describe the deliciousness of the food here. The food is always fresh and very tasty. There is complete pride and joy in the ownership's presentation and preparation of food, which is very evident whether you eat by way of the buffet or the menu. The dishes offered here are unique, creative, innovative and of course always amazingly delicious as opposed to the very bland, boring and almost "nuked" tasting food you get elsewhere that is generally filled with cream and nothing more. My personal favorites are the rack of lamb, butter chicken, aloo tikka and mango moose dessert. Someone once told me that you can often times taste the love and patience that comes with a fanstastic and delicious dish, and you can definitely do so here when you taste the food and meet the chef! The ambiance of this restaurant is one of a kind, which is a rarity for indian restaurants. There is always a great welcoming vibe in this restaurant. The pricing is amazingly fantastic, seriously shocking for the quality that you get. This place is not your typical "cheap out" on the important items. As far as Indian food goes in the University District/Roosevelt areas, this stop is one of the best. We had a diverse group of eaters ranging from Atkin's dieters to vegans and all of us were quite satisfied with their meals. The wine list (though short) was quite good and they have a rotating selection of beers on tap. The table was clean and the silverware/dishware was spotless. The only thing keeping me from giving the India Bistro five stars is the abysmal service. Though I don't believe a two by four could provide the same services (refilling water, answering questions) as the young lady who was waiting on our table, I think it would by more enthusiastic and knowledgeable about items on the menu. While we were waiting for our check she was sitting at the bar speaking to the bar tender. Oh and the only light in the bathroom is a nightlight. read more

this place is consistently doing great job.i have been dining since last year.i went yesterday after 2 months for dinner with my friends and this time my experience was not as good as before.food was as good as before but the service was very poor.i saw totally new people working and all very confused.the lady who was running the food didn't know the name of the entree which is not a big deal.eventhough there were four people working on the floor our water glass was empty but no body cared to refill it even they were free and staying in the bar and chating.after we were done with our plates they took 10 minutes to come and pick up our dishes which was very disappointing. I think to keep this restaurant in business they must think every aspects from food to service too. read more

My sister and I stumbled across this place as we were on a hunt for another restaurant that seemed impossible to find. After circling the block three times we said screw it, lets go to the place with all the lights and a million cars outside. I have to admit the place was so lit up, It was almost gaudy. Let me just say, that if you want good service and need some attention, this is the place to be. Staff work as a team to ensure you are completely happy and that your drink is completely full at all times. The food was very good! Have been a regular customer at I-Bistro for a couple years. We go at least once a week. Love their food and the variety that is offered during the lunch buffet. They have excellent standard Indian dishes and since I like "new ones", I'm always happy to try a different delicious hot dish or cold salad. I ordered my standard, 5-Star Chicken Pad Thai, to go, and at first bite, immediately texted my husband that the new iteration of Royal Palm was *IT*, and that it'd be my new favorite Pad Thai place. The flavor, the spice, the CHAR--everything was PERFECT, when most of my previously reliable Pad Thais around had been slipping. I was thrilled. We returned to eat in person shortly after, and it was great. Fast forward to Summer, I really don't know what happened. I tried the Pad Thai to go at least 3 times since, and EVERY SINGLE TIME it was bland beyond belief with no spice, no flavor. How?! I'm too scared to go back now since I don't know if I'll ever find the amazing iteration of Royal Palm that existed in the Spring.

It should've been double the amount for the price. Also, I ordered Roti to go with my entree, which was good, but I had to pay extra for it. It should've been included in the price of the entree, especially since it was just two small pieces. Also, they double charged my debit card - one charge from Door Dash (who they're partnered with), and one charge from the restaurant. I hope they fix that because I'll deny both charges if they don't.

So asked politely if I can use one of the table to eat. The server/cashier said no right away. Which is fair - well within her rights but this place also appear to be a self service spot. I am not expecting to dine in here or use any utensils or cutlery. Just eat a burger. Anyways the burger itself was at best average. It wasn't bad - pretty edible but was smaller compared to other joints. There is a reason why Burger and Kebab hut despite having questionable hygienic standard is tough to beat for Indian Style Burgers. Talking about the ambience - the place is pretty nice. Good siting space and I liked the Rickshaw exhibition.

Even if I were not hungry, though, I would drive here for the house lemonade. Mint + lemon + just the right amount of sugar, served with a lemon slice and mint sprig. It's green, it's tart, refreshing, and worth the trip down I-5. As a person who does NOT eat out, at all, Hamsa has captured my heart. Go get some food, walk around, then come back for more lemonade!

Their chicken garlic shawarma was so flavorful, and the falafel was crispy, fresh, and actually bigger than what most places serve around Seattle -- and thankfully not burnt lol like I've experienced in so many spots here. The tabbouleh was fresh and good, although the flavor was a little different from what I'm personally used to. I also tried their cheese croissant and omg... I completely fell in love with it. It was so light and airy that I ended up eating two! Not the super buttery heavy croissant style we usually see. This one had a sprinkle of zaatar on top and it was amazing. I don't think it's on their regular menu, but I highly recommend they add it soon because it deserves a permanent spot. I'll definitely be coming back very soon with my husband for breakfast!
