I come here for their Organic offerings which they have a wide range of, some of which are unavailable in other Indian Grocery stores in this locality. Shelves are well stocked and helpers around are always willing to help. They have a Price Checker which is helpful for the items that do not have price tags. They get really busy in the evenings, mornings are quiet. They do sell Indian sweets, hot food & snacks, Indian Speciality Foods & takeaway meals. They also offer Same Day Delivery! Located in a shopping center so there's lots of parking available in the front.

I remembered a place on Jackson Street that I had gone to 5 years ago that had a tremendous selection - looked it up on Yelp and it was no longer on Jackson, but was listed in Castro Valley. So we went thought we'd go by and give it a try. Great decision! The "new" store in Castro Valley is much brighter, cleaner, nicer than the old location. I think the old location had more stuff from Eastern Europe, but this new location seems to have a broader selection, with more stuff from Western Europe and the Middle East. The guy behind the counter was very friendly and helpful - always willing to answer questions and even give tips on how to use the products that they sell. And his recommendations have been great - we asked him about which tahini and zaatar to get (they have many different brands/types of each...) and the ones he recommended have been way tastier than any of the brands that you find in most markets. Especially good was his recommendation on lebnah - he said that the brands they carry are all good, but they have some that they package in-house that was special. I tried it - it was less expensive than the other brands, but was the very best lebnah that I have ever tasted! Richer, creamier, with just the right amount of tang. Wonderful stuff! Anyway, Crossroads is a nice, clean, well-lit place with a great selection of unique products, and friendly, knowledgeable sales staff. Well worth a trip!

I was shocked to spend $11 on just a 20oz bottle of Pepsi and a bag of potato chips -- $7 for chips and $4 for a soda is completely unreasonable, even for "organic" products. I shop at places like Whole Foods regularly, and even they don't charge those kinds of prices. When I asked the cashier to clarify, the response felt dismissive, as if I should just accept the markup without question. To make matters worse, as I browsed the store, I noticed several items that were past their expiration dates. If you're going to charge premium prices, the very least I expect is for the food to be fresh and safe to eat. That's just basic quality control. Unfortunately, between the inflated prices and expired goods, I can't recommend this store. I love supporting neighborhood spots, but this one left a bad impression -- both in service and value.

The hype has die down. I really like their produce section. There is a big selection of fruits and vegetables and everything looks clean and fresh. I also like the seafood selections. We got makeral and black cod and asked them to gut and scale the fishes for us. We also bought some baby octopus. Their meat selection on the other hand, I don't like as much. I have gotten their pre-marinated beef and prok before and for some reason they don't taste as good and fresh as the other H-Marts in my opinion. This location has a decent selection of cooked foods (bento boxes, kimbop, etc). I bought them before and felt like they were just ok and a bit overpriced. Overall, I am glad that we have a H-Mart in the tri-valley area now so I don't have to drive all the way to the southbay. The checkout area is a bit small but not crowded this time. My last feedback is for the store to staff their roasted sweet potatoes area better. I waited many times for it but only was able to get them the first time I was there. First was the classic and probably the most popular, Chapssaltteok. It's basically a Korean sweet rice cake, similar to Japanese mochi, made with chewy glutinous rice flour and filled with sweet red bean paste. It was really good. From the very first bite, I could immediately tell the difference from Japanese Mochi. Japanese Mochi tends to have a sweeter rice cake, while the rice cake in this Chapssaltteok was slightly salty, which balanced out the sweet red bean paste filling really well. The rice cake itself was super soft and chewy. Very good. I also bought another variety that was very similar, except instead of being dusted with some kind of starch, it was coated with Sesame Oil. They looked super shiny! Both coatings did a great job of keeping the rice cakes from sticking together, and also, they were equally delicious. The third one looked the most interesting, but unfortunately it didn't taste as good as the other two. It was a rice cake with very very thin black sesame layers and coated with a mixture of crushed nuts like peanuts and almond. The texture was a bit tougher than the other two rice cakes, and I think it could've used a little more sweetness. I'd definitely love to try more of their products. They were priced around $10 to $11 per container, a little more expensive than the nearby mom and pop Korean shops in the area.

We used to come here frequently before the pandemic, but for some reason stopped coming on the years since. I yearned to come back since our 4yo loves Persian-style rice and the kabobs at Santorini nearby are inconsistent - sometimes juicy and sometimes dry. With Yelp's Grubhub app, you can order for pickup and customize. Its amazing you can choose thigh or breast for chicken. Definitely get the thigh for a juicier chicken! They even let you customize the rice preparation: * The basic saffron rice is the classic white basmati rice with some saffron to give it some yellow color. This is my son's favorite and he can probably devour an entire plate. * Jewel-style adds candied shredded carrots, orange zest and pistachios for added crunch and sweetness. *Zareshk-style used barberries to add some tartness to balance out the sweet, and is another one of our favorites. Definitely will use their Grubhub ordering system going forward. Besides the awesome kabob plate, they also offer several Persian stews and desserts.
