It's a five star all the way for what it is, vegetarian Indian fast food. The samosas were amazing and the chutney sauces just as good. The man running the shop at the time we went in was so nice and friendly. He explained all the dishes to me and even gave me a sample of their homemade mango yogurt drink. He definitely knew what he was doing by giving me a sample because I'm sooo wanting some now. The eggplant dish was by far the best I've had in a long time. The naan was so fresh and delicious. I want to go back tomorrow; it was that good! Yay! I'm so happy I found this place! I was looking forward to the okra & celery plus cauliflower & potato dish along with their famous naan. Nothing like that was found. Restaurant was not nice - they only had some hot foods (4) and looked very old. Some creamy stuff and a dried out vegetable dish which turned me off. We were a little skeptical because when we walked in we saw a little market. The food is at the very back of the market. I believe he is the owner (very tall and friendly) he let us sample all the dishes. We ordered the tandoori special with the garlic Naan. Anytime now that I'm craving Indian food or Naan. If you care about your health please do not eat or visit this establishment! I went in yesterday and ALL employees that were working WERE NOT wearing face coverings/masks or had protective shields! This includes the people working in the kitchen/food prep area. It's late June! No exception for not protecting customers or employees! At first upon walking in the cashier/order take I noticed he did not have a mask or face covering... I hoped he would put one on with us being in there and did not. He proceeded to take our order WITH NO MASK/FACE COVERING. When the food was ready the coo handed us the food again without face protection! I asked why he wasn't wearing a mask and pretended not to speak in English. I told him that this establishment is in Direct Violation of Los Angeles County Public Health Guidelines to protect against COVID 19. We threw the food away without refund. I just wanted to support a local restaurant and have some good food. I didn't want mucus/saliva membranes on my food with the possibility of contracting COVID19 Please avoid this restaurant/market. I come here to pick up my Basmati Rice, Garlic/Ginger Puree, Biryani Mix, etc. They also serve Indian food which is delicious and very flavorful. We order with them on Postmates and twice they've sent us curry that looks nothing like what we ordered. The consistency isn't ideal. This time we ordered pretty late and I don't know if they wanted to just get the order out and close up but they basically sent us what looked like their left over chicken with bones in a random sauce. I have passed this place for years and never went in. One of our clients, who is of Southeast Indian background, bought us samosas for a treat. They are vegetarian and simply wonderful because of the crisp yet not too hard crust. The interior is of a spiced smashed potato filling , combined with peas and I think onion. The sweet tangy tamarind and spicy hot green chutney sauces that are included in the order are perfect compliments. I ordered three orders ($1.99 for 2 samosas) were enough for three people. I served them at home with the chutneys and plain yogurt. The store itself is arranged a bit oddly. There are about 8 tables with covered pitchers of water and napkin dispensers to the right side, Indian groceries ( rice, dal, chutneys, snacks and frozen foods) on the left side. They also sell a few vegetables as well,such as cauliflower, okra, fuzzy melon, onions. The food counter is at the back with a glass display case of items that don't appear too appetizing. A small hot tray cart with various buffet foods is the side of the glass case. Despite the rather sad appearance of the inside, the service was prompt and my samosa came out quickly, nice and hot. read more

The curries were honestly underwhelming. We also ordered a mango lassi, samosas and a parantha. The naan, samosa, lassi, and parantha took ten minutes to come out, which didn't make sense since there were no other customers. When the sides finally came, they were piping hot. I would order the parantha and samosas again. The lassi was good but it came with ice; I didn't think it was strange until I compared to other Indian restaurants that never have ice in theirs....
