These guys wouldn't give me the food that my wife had ordered online because she had ordered it as "Nicole" and I asked for an order for "Nikki". I could see the order sitting on the counter but they seemed to think that I was trying to steal it or something? After about 10 minutes they apparently decided that I was sufficiently irritated and that my food had gotten cold enough to release into the wild and they finally gave it to me. Been here twice now and the food is incredible! Started off with Fish amrisari that came with 3 fabulous sauces. We save the fish to add to the sauce of the main dishes we order. The seasonal vegetable biryani is filled with so many fresh veggies and tofu. Chicken tikka masala and shrimp tikka masala always hit the spot and we get it spicy. The garlic Naan has mounds of chopped garlic that helps clean all the sauce off your plate. Cucumber raita comes gratis on the side and balances with the fabulous spice. The space being used for this restaurant has gone from being a pigs ear to a silk purse. Very nice, clean and a well decorated ambiance. While not chatting with each other, the waiters were happy to describe their dishes--and we were very happy with what we selected. The only reason we give this four stars is because the prices seemed a bit high for what we got--and absolutely NOTHING is included beyond the ordered items. We'll be back because it's nice to have choices in our small town, and the food was yummy! read more

I always like trying out new places. The place is nicely decorated and the service was good. I always judge a place on the food. I had the chicken tiki Marsala and ask them to make it spicy. It's very good and just spicy enough. Large portions. The rice was good and the naan was good but a little too tough. I took a lot home. The quality of the food was the best I've had in the United States. I've been looking for an Indian restaurant similar to what I found in California's Bay Area for 12 years. I found it in Auburn California but it was even better than I expected and it's called India oven. The food portions were generous, the presentation was excellent, the quantity of food was excellent, and it tasted like gourmet Indian cuisine. The ambiance was classy yet relaxing. Very good food and selection. They have only been open 6 days and they are waiting on their liquor license. Nice and clean atmosphere. We had the lamb coconut curry and vindaloo with chicken, basmati rice, garlic Naan with a cucumber and mint yogurt dip. Everything was really delicious with delicate flavors...we ordered medium spice and it was perfect. Service was great and I complimented the chef D.J. The only negative comment I have is that the water they served tasted like tap water and needed more ice. I could not drink it. They need to serve bottled water or filtered water. I hope they add wine and champagne to the menu. We will be back. Very nice local business to support and it is refreshing to have a variety of different ethnic food in our community. read more

my family of 5 have eaten here twice. friendly staff, very accommodating, and the food is delicious. my youngest of 5yrs old kept filling his plate along with my 7 and 10 yr old... that's always a good sign!! grateful to have an Indian food option closer to us in north auburn! read more
