We are Indian lovers! We've tried many a places for our Indian cravings and this one is pretty high in the scale. Their Naan breads were yummy. The atmosphere was nice, it was quiet and low lighting. Very relaxed visit, to enjoy your food peacefully. The curries we got were both yummy. My husband usually gets the massamun and I always get butter curry. And neither disappointed! What made the meal was the bread. The potato bread wasn't the most popular between us but the plain made up for it over again! Really good, wasn't quite sure what to expect, we have some pretty good odian places to choose from locally. Got to say I really liked the ambiance and the Indian feel of the restaurant. The food was top notch, both dishes that we tried had excellent flavor and portion size. The naan bread was exceptional, great taste, not over powering but a perfect addition to the meal. They recommended an onion appetizer, didn't quite know what to expect, came out completely different from what I thought, but it was awesome. Not a huge fan of onion, but they made it taste great. Enjoy really bad BO from some of the servers 5. Ask for the check and no one understands you 6. Wait 5 min at the front desk to pay since no one brought you the check 7. Enjoy a serious gastrointestinal blow out 5 hours later for everyone in your party that leaves your evening and plumbing ruined Don't let the awards at the entrance fool you, this is not the Indian restaurant you are looking for. Flavorful food and courteous staff! We were happy to find a dinner restaurant that opened earlier than 5pm. Walking by, around 4pm we found India Palace had dinner hours beginning at 230pm. The medium spicy level was perfect for us. The waiter was very efficient and courteous. The friendly owner stopped by to check on our dining experience. The entrées were delicious, we have had better garlic naan. Worth trying out and nice to have wine with dinner for early diners. When first walking into the restaurant it is very crammed, worn drown, and kind of dark. There aren't many places to stand without getting in the way of someone while you are waiting to be seated. We were seated very quickly which was very nice, especially since it was a Friday night. We ordered the chicken tikka masala and chicken tandoori which were both delicious and very unique. I liked the tikka masala the most because of the flavours and textures. The chicken tandoori was also great, but a little dry and kind of spicy for me. I recently stopped by this restaurant for their lunch buffet. There were 6 non veg entrees compared to 4 for veggie, disappointing, if you are a vegetarian. But the disappointment does not stop here, it lingers on through the end of the meal. I have never ever had a preparation of dal makhani (lentil) with big paneer cubes in it. That's an awful combination coz you have to spoon out the paneer (Indian cottage cheese) in order to enjoy the yummy dal. I tried to eat the cheese with mint chutney but it was so bland. One of the veggies was 'kadi' which is essentially a buttermilk curry. This particular dish contained way too many pakoras which made the kadi difficult to relish. Cauliflower dish, naan and aloo tiki are tasty. Ironically, there was naan and bhatura for bread but no chick peas to accompany the bhature. I wonder if this is how things go every day. Maybe, it was the spoiled dough which they reused by deep frying it into bhaturas. Because, the bhaturas tasted a bit sour. For the buffet, food items are not labeled and or placed in order. If you are a vegetarian, you may get confused as they bring in new stuff and place it just anywhere they can place the container. I am tired writing about the main course. Let's talk about dessert as that's more exciting. The rice pudding (Kheer) was like 0/10. Either the kheer itself was too old or they simply used cooked old white rice and added it to milk with sugar. There were no condiments or dry fruits in kheer which is irrelevant at this point, because the rice tasted like pieces of small stones. The mango rice had no mango flavor in it, and was again like eating dry flakes of uncooked rice. So I have literally no idea about what they meant to serve in mango rice. Gulabjamun was either uncooked or I could not figure out what it was supposed to be. So, after being so patient, I lost my cool and gave up even trying gajar ka halwa. But my husband stated that it was also too soggy and tasteless. It appears that they are cutting big corners. All in all, dessert food is extremely low quality and inedible to a great extent. I wonder people have not gotten sick eating some of he food that is served here. read more

They stopped giving Basmati rice with the meal quite a while ago, I hoped things would go back to normal (covid?) The three times I've had it, mushy. I recently payed $5.50 to have some basmati rice with the meal. For sure against my morals to pay for rice, but was my friends first time and the meal isn't right without it. We ended up asking for another serving of their "jasmine" rice and were charged for that as well. The total for two people was over 60 dollars. We had no drinks or sides, two curries, two naans, and $9 worth of RICE (that I noticed) we were charged for. It's one thing to go cheap on the rice and another to secretly charge your customers for it. The owners attitude is not cute and the food is not good enough to get away with this rice murder. I was very limited on what I could and couldn't eat. I'm currently doing Keto, but I did try everything on that buffet a bite at a time!!! This was also my first Indian Food experience and it was awesome!!! Their rice is great and they have this orange colored rice and that was to die for!!! It was really sweet and I think would be great with one of the spicer dishes on the buffet!!! When I'm off of Keto I am going back and pigging out!!! I got the Tandoori Mixed Kabab and it was great!!! I wanted to eat the rice so bad, but couldn't because of my diet. :/The seasoning I got was Milf and it was very good!!! It came with chicken, lamb, and shrimp. The chicken you could tell was marinated for a long time before cooking and the shrimp was super delicious!!! I got my husband a Mango Lassi and it was like a Mango Yogurt drink and it was delicious!!! The owner was very nice and all his staff were amazing as well!!! I've been a regular over the years. I'm finished with India Palace. The greeter / water filler lady has been rude and grumpy the last two times I've gone here. It's clear she doesn't enjoy her job. The first time I gave her the benefit of the doubt but today was the last straw. There is a lot of detail that I won't go into but the food has always been somewhat mediocre but with this added element of extremely poor customer service... count me out. If you choose to eat here. The service was slow to clear my plates. The sweet coconut vegetable soup was really good. Honestly, Utah County is lacking when it comes to good Indian places. I always feel like I have to go up to Salt Lake if I want really good Indian. India Palace does the trick though if you are not willing to make the drive up. They have a pretty decent and well priced lunch buffet that goes much later than most. I'm pretty sure it does not end until 4 pm. Don't take me to the grave on that though. They do really well with tiki masala, so that's typically what I get if I am not eating off of the buffet. I know that's a stereotypical white girl Indian plate to get, but my favorite Indian meal which is lamb briyani is not so impressive here. It came with a generous side of white rice (mixed with carrots or something?). Everything was perfect. I'm a spice wuss so I ordered it all mild, and it something was just a teeny bit hotter than I would call "mild," but honestly, I liked it. Fire for comfort. But it wasn't until I ate there that I realized how good Indian can truly be! India palace is one of my favorite places to eat in Utah County. My most recent visit was typical of all my experiences there. Fast service, and high quality food. We ordered: chicken tikka masala, lamb coconut korma, & mango chicken. All three dishes were superb. I'm a big fan of the way they do their rice. It's a bit stickier than other Indian places, and I like that. Their naan is OK. I pick India Palace over Bombay House, simply because the food seems to make it out if the kitchen a lot faster. I'd say prices are comparable. Taste of India is the most affordable, and I like their food the best. But they're in Davis County. When I'm in Provo, I'm going to be eating at India Palace. read more
