I could not say better things about this place. I have been here three times now, and each time ordered something different on the menu and all three times I was blown away. Even the wine is cheap and good quality. I have ordered Sattrangi Dal, baigan barta, and aloo gobi. The portions are fairly sized and they serve the food in large bowls family size and then place them on top of burners to keep the food warm while you are eating. While you are waiting for your food, you are served three different chutneys: a sweet brown sauce, a spicy green sauce, and an onion chutney ( ALL STUPENDOUS!!) I could rave forever about their freshly baked garlic naan. The service is attentive and will help you pick an item from their menu, because it is quite extensive and can be a little overwhelming for anyone who is not very familiar with Indian food. We have been looking for a good Indian restaurant for quite some time before going to India Palace and now we found it. Our first experience was great. We were immediately greeted by a friendly host and seated. The restaurant was very clean and the lighting was perfect. Not too dark or bright. The staff was great and the food hot and delicious. The service was very attentive but not intrusive. We didn't have to wait for anything including the bill when we were finished eating. I love this place, totally addicted to Indian food at the moment. They have a terrific Lamb Saag, for those of you who are a bit squeamish their Tandoori chicken (chicken marinated in yogurt and spices. Yum!!) or Chicken Curry are also very good. This is our favorite suburban Indian spot, with a great lunch buffet and consistently well-executed food across an extensive menu. The buffet is terrific, changes quite a bit over multiple visits, and never disappoints. Includes sizzling tandoori chicken and warm, fresh naan they bring to the table. In terms of the menu, we've tried a lot and some of our favorites: Samosas and Pakora appetizers; the Vegetable Biryani, Gobi Manchurian and Saag Paneer are all really well-done and the Tikka Masala and Kormas are consistently excellent. Consistency is a real strength here. It's a predictably unassuming location in a plaza, but the owners and staff are welcoming and they have a full bar. read more

Great tandoori items and curries with complex flavors. I've only tried about twenty things off of their 100+ item menu, but the worst thing I had was still pretty tasty. I love their Masala Dosa, Saag Paneer, the Chicken Tikka, the Malai Kofta, the Baigan Bharta... I have not tried many of their dishes, but out of the 8 different dishes I have tried they all are phenomenal. I've ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala many times, and it ALWAYS has the same flavor. The only thing that has been different is sometimes they put dark chicken, but I'm sure its something you can request not to have (I dont mind too much dark chicken). I've mainly gotten their lunch as carryout, and they always supply you with everything as if you've eaten there (appetizer and sauces), and the food is always perfectly warm! And I have only eaten here once for dinner, and surprisingly after 8PM on a Saturday it was still pretty busy with multiple families and groups of friends. I have had many people tell me to try their lunch buffet so I will have to try to do that next time! read more

Good food but the lack of customer service will make me a dine-out customer only. My husband and I were on the prowl for an Indian restaurant since we are new to the area. We ordered two appetizers, two dinner entrees, naan, and an order of rice. The spices were spot on with the food. The not-so-great part of the dining experience was the service. It took a while before we actually got to place our orders and it was slow night. The owner/manager stared our table down for most of the meal. Pretty decent Indian food. They use the copper pots with warming candles for the curry which is a nice touch. Paneer makhani, tadka daal, jeera rice, assorted bread basket and pakora app basket were all nice. The highlight is the kulfi. Mango kulfi frozen inside an orange peel which gives it a hint of taste. Awesome food! Stepped in to try the lunch buffet which was great than the waiter brings me the best tandoori chicken I have ever had. A word of warning lunch starts at 11am ends at 2pm then they close until dinner service starts at 5pm. Prices are good food is even better. read more

I went here on a Saturday night after shopping at Aurora Outlets. Excellent service, amazing ambience and an Indian feel to the food. I ordered kadhai paneer, vegetable jalfrezi and masala kuclcha. India Palace is a hidden gem in the middle of a lack luster strip mall. The food is fantabulous and I have brought many people there to enjoy. I am married to an Indian and her parents were staying with us in Wheaton. We took them and it even impressed the folks from the old country. I personally love the Chilli Paneer, and the Tandoor Shrimp (forget the chicken) LOL Anyway do youself a favor and check it out you will not be sorry. read more

Not really impressed. As soon as you walk in, looks pretty broken down. Inside decor looks like you are in somebody's basement rather than a dining establishment. It was so hot in there (90 degrees outside) and they did not have the air conditioning on. They said it was bc people did not want it to be cold. Come on. Food was not good either. I have been here couple of times since I moved to western suburbs. Food is lot better compared to Devon neighborhood in Chicago and price is good. Lunch buffet is a great value for money. I have never seen any Indian restaurant especially for buffet serving fried fish except India Palace. I agree with other yelpers that service is bad. Well, I'm not surprised. Servers maybe under paid and the management doesn't care about customers satisfaction but just the revenue. Last time I went there, I took my friend and they tried to charge her 18 month old son ($7.99). She tried to change her son's diaper in the changing room, but sad part is there's no changing room or table. You have to change your baby on the bathroom floor. So this is not family friendly place. read more

My husband and I have been going here for a few years. It used to be our go to spot for Indian food. It was conveniently close to our home. It used to be good and someplace that we would rave about to our friends and family, but our last few visits have been decreasingly disappointing. We have noticed a decline in the freshness of the food as well as the portion size. One of our favorite entrees to order is the paneer shaslic, which is a sizzling paneer and vegetable dish. When we first started dining here we would receive decent sized cubes of paneer, but over time the cubes have become thin dry slices. Sorry Indian Palace we will not be returning. read more

Not the BEST Indian restaurant I've been to, but the 5 stars are very well deserved. I've gone there a number of times in the past few years. I especially like the buffet. It is among the best-quality buffets I've ever had. My favorite dishes are the saag paneer and the chicken tikka masala. I'm getting hungry just writing about them! There's another dish I really like, but I can't think of the name of it right now. I'll have to make sure, next time I'm there, to write it down and update my review. Wife and I were hungry during her lunch break and she suggested this spot. I wasn't in the mood for Indian food but I thought what the heck. Immediately upon walking in the restaurant smelled amazing. Environment: Seating space wasn't too bad. It didn't feel cramped at all. Food: The buffet was amazing. I haven't ordered anything yet from the menu but the buffet was definitely enjoyable. The chicken tikki marsala was to die for. I grabbed that item 3 times. I had about 4 plates of food here and I literally stuffed myself because the food was so delicious. I don't remember the names of certain dishes they had available but I basically tasted almost everything they had in the buffet. Their mango ice cream was addicting. Service: The workers were very respectful and patient with us. We have a little boy and they didn't mind he walk around a little bit to explore. No complaints. Went for my birthday lunch in October and was very disappointed. The buffet had some different entrees to the norm (which was nice) but I thought it wasn't too fresh or as tasty as other restaurants. This is one of my least preferred Indian restaurants. The service is very poor. Ordered mix veg pakora, kadai panner, channa masala and roomali roti. Some of the veg pakoras were under cooked. Being an Indian, I know what roomali roti is. But it was nothing like it (it was a rolled chapatti). When I said this to the manager, he simply said "this is how it is prepared here". He didn't give a damn. If you want to have authentic Indian food and good service, please avoid this place. Gave it two stars because the other dishes were not bad. I am a very picky reviewer so when I give a restaurant 4 or 5 stars I mean it. Our family went to this restaurant last night. The only thing overstated was the word Palace... nothing palatial about this place. However the food is fit for Royalty. We ordered Hariyali (all green spices) Chicken Kabab, Malai Chicken Kabab, Spinach Saag and Shrimp Biryani. Both Kabab's and Spinach dish were excellent!! Pass on the Shrimp Biryani... average at best. Enjoy these Kabab's with traditional Rumali Roti. Better than Naan in my opinion. read more

this is probably one of my favorite Indian restaurants! The food is really good and i eat here quite often, especially for lunch. They have a great lunch buffet and it always changes. There is plenty of parking and shopping nearby so it makes the location even better! I think my only problem is that they close between lunch and dinner, so go early if you're planning to eat lunch. read more

Went there with my husband and son for lunch. We had the buffet not bad but they charged me $9.00 for my 2year old son who had some white rice!! When we asked the waitor he said we charge for everyone. Really? So if I bought my 6 month old and 1year old you would charge me? Come on. I'm not a cheap ass but that is crazy. They could have done what every other restaurant does and either not charge for 2 year olds or if you feel the need to charge then do it according to age, how much do you think he is going to eat? Will not go back for that reason alone. And I have told all those that I know with families how crappy that was. read more

a very very pleasant surprise in the middle of nowhere. ok it's not in the middle of nowhere, but for most all ethnic cuisine, chicago is the only place to get it. good indian food in wheaton? who knew! Came here with some coworkers for their lunch buffet. i guess the secret's out because the place quickly filled. they had a handful of options (less than most indian buffets in the city, but very decent for the burbs). most options were vegetarian dishes, but everything is so flavorful that you dont really miss the meat if you're a meat lover like me. they did have chicken makhani (which was very very good. could have eaten just this and rice) and goat curry (which i didn't try but heard was good) the naan wasn't as great as city buffets, but it wasn't horrible either. The usual desserts- rice pudding, fruit, mango ice cream, and those sweet doughy balls in sweet syrup. good pricing- it came out to be about $11 including tax and tip. service was great- my glass was never empty. we will probably be back next time we're looking for a lunch spot. read more
