We ended up ordering a slice of mango cake and yum. Definitely did not disappoint. Tasted like a good old fashioned Asian fruit cake in the best way possible. Light, soft sponge, airy sweet cream, hint of mango. The high praise for Asian dessert of "not too sweet". My only complaint is that I wish we lived closer!

Dishes that are vegetable-based or prioritize seitan and tofu are typically the best kind of vegan food, over fake meat that never tastes like what its imitating. I wouldn't bring someone without dietary restrictions here, but I think it's a perfect place to bring a vegan/vegetarian/meat-restricted person. They have a lot of good options here. The soups are relatively flavourful for vegan broths. The curry fried rice is delicious as well. I also appreciate the variety of drink options made with vegan milk substitutes. The service is pretty fast considering how busy it gets. Some of the workers can't speak much English, but it hasn't been an issue. Southeast Asian food can be very meat-heavy, so places like this are great. If your vegetarian friend is ever craving Thai or Vietnamese food, bring them here!

I got their ja jang mien, and I really liked it--especially the thick, chewy noodles! My coworker got General Tso's, and we also got some veggie dumplings to share. The dumplings were a bit on the bland side, but otherwise good. Service was relatively quick. The interior is clean and well kept (I guess more than you'd think looking at the little strip it is part of), and the wait staff are friendly. The parking lot for the strip mall this is in is on the small side, though, and may be tough to find parking during the lunch rush if you don't arrive early (and I would highly suggest carpooling). Tasty and friendly, I need to remember to suggest this place for lunch more often over the closer places we tend to think of first! I will definitely be back!

Unfortunately, the customer service left a lot to be desired. I arrived shortly after they opened, and there was no greeting or acknowledgment when I walked in, even though the restaurant was empty. When I approached the counter to pick up my order, I gave the name it was under. Instead of confirming the order or asking any questions, the first thing I heard from the cook was, "Get her card first." The cashier then immediately said, "Give me your card." Only after my payment was processed did they hand me my food and say, "Thank you." I completely understand that businesses need to protect themselves and ensure orders are paid for before they're released. That's not the issue. It's the way it was handled. As a customer, it felt like I was being treated as if I might take the food and run, rather than being welcomed into a local, family-owned business. A simple greeting, confirming the order, and then politely requesting payment would have made all the difference. Great customer service and protecting your business can absolutely go hand in hand. The food was outstanding, but the experience made me feel unwelcome. Sadly, because of the customer service, I don't see myself returning.

Wow. Could not have been happier with the food!…read more Will present the food in the order I would recommend: Banana fritters- soft clouds of fried dough, over some rum dark chocolate sauce. Divine! 7/5 Curry cauliflower over a red non spicy sauce. Refreshing! The flavors blended together with the flavorful but not overpowering flavor, with the well balanced sauce underneath. Could not stop eating it. $17 8/5 Mezze plate - the coconut feta was very creamy and good, I really enjoyed the pomegranate arugula salad with pickled onion and with the pieces of falafel inside. The flatbread was a little hard, but good. The eggplant was good and hummus also good. $32 price a little steep for the platter 6/5 Impossible cheeseburger - classic impossible burger. The standout item was the fries, quite good! Crisp outside and soft inside. 5/5 French toast - ok, a little dry, the berry sauce was good but lacking a little dynamic flavor maybe some citrus? 3/5 Cookie with vegan ice cream. Alas, pastries are still difficult to make well vegan 3/5 Service was a little distracted and hard to order. Bussing was very on top of it. I will return for the top items

Everyone ordered different dishes so we could try a lot of things from the menu. 1/5 Athenian Eggplant - Far too sour and the flat bread was SO HARD. Even carb lovers didn't want to finish it. 4/5 Green Falafel - Came warm and the tzatziki sauce was pretty good. 4/5 French fries - Sauces were interesting. 1/5 Mushroom bao - ONE small piece of fried mushroom in each of the two baos that came out. It was stuffed with sour lettuce instead. 2/5 Corn pizza - That coconut mozz was not it for me. 3/5 Chicken sandwich - Solid. Drinks were good! What's up Doc was my fave. Located in the corner of the plaza next to CVS. Good service.

To say my…read morewife was elated tp see them open up in Redwood City close to her workplace, is an understatement. She has since brought numerous people tp this location. I also love coming here everytime I'm in town and need to finally revisit the original location since their renovation. On our most current visit, everything wasn't flawless like it usually is, but let me tell you why it didn't hinder our night, nor our reason to constantly come back. As creatures of habit, we humans tend to stick to what we know. I know especially at my age, I know what I want, and don't you dare make me change my order, dang nabbit. So, one of our go to dishes everytime we visit, is their roast chicken. This particular night, they didn't have any available, I believe the rotisserie was being serviced. Though we were a bit disappointed, our server Ben, made everything better. He took care of us, not only in conversation, but with a suggestion of trying the cauliflower. Cauliflower instead of chicken, how does that work? Well for us, it did. Never thought I'd sub cauliflower for chicken, but it was more than satisfying. Though we will always get the chicken, we more than likely will have to add the cauliflower along with it. We also ordered the Arugula Fennel Salad, which was light, and the crisp of the apples gives it a nice crunch. A side of chicken kabob to go with the salad. Fried cheese, it was good, especially drizzling the honey on it. Double kebab plate of chicken and filet mignon. Which I devoured. A refreshing raspberry lemonade. Just tart and sweet enough. If you're lucky to get Ben as your server, you won't regret it and if the server suggests a dish, give it a try, it make change things up for the better.

The food took a while to come out but once it did.. we devoured everything. Only thing I wasn't a huge fan of was the cauliflower but that's because it ended up being mostly stem. The seasonings on the florets were super tasty. We tried the chicken and kofta kebabs and the chicken shawarma. I loved the kofta - it was super flavorful and the meat was so tender! Will pass on chicken kebab next time, I found it was a little too charred and on the drier side. Chicken shawarma was definitely the better chicken option. Their toum is DELICIOUS and tzatziki is refreshing with the perfect amount of tang. And the portion sizes are just right, we had leftovers for days. Only reason I'm rating as a 4 because of the service - it was on the slow side and we ordered from a QR code and didn't interact with any of the staff beyond "thank you" so felt a bit impersonal for the price point.

Cilantro tastes like soap to me and ever since my first visit, even when I forget to ask for no cilantro in my food, they remember for me :) And the food! I thought I didn't like cauliflower before I tried their cauliflower taco, and now I get it every time! The vegan bao, the elote, and the plantain taco are also amazing, and they have the best mocktail to all time (ask for the yuzu one). Both the indoor and outdoor dining experience is wonderful, plenty of space between tables, flowers lining the outdoor tables, a great place to chat over a meal without getting overstimulated. And it's right in the heart of the downtown, so you can check out the bookstore a few stores down or the boba shop down the street. I can't recommend this place or the people who keep it running so well enough -- I always leave with a happy stomach and a happy heart.

The food came in on time so we really appreciated that. I tried the Cochinita Pibil which came with rice and plantains. I liked that the meat was soft and full of flavor as well as the rice. I was informed that the patio is open and to order using a QR code at one of the tables in the patio. You have to sign in and create an account to order. It took me a minute to order. I wanted to try their specialty dishes especially because they have mushroom dishes and soy protein dishes. But by the time I was able to figure out how to order and sign up, I was pressed for time to order a meal and ended up ordering crispy spring rolls. Once your order is placed, you wait for a text to let you know your order is ready. Then I have to pick up at the window. Spring rolls were okay. I really wanted to try the crispy oyster mushrooms or the lion mane mushroom dish. Or even the Sea Fruits plate but I wasn't going to have enough time to enjoy them. The patio was fine. A few picnic tables. You bus your own table at the end. Everything they used was biodegradable. I wish it was a better experience. The food looked delicious in pictures, but eating in an outdoor patio, ordering from a QR code, and picking up your food from the window made for a sad and sub par experience.

There was plenty of outdoor seating, and the service was speedy. You order on a kiosk, which makes for a streamlined ordering process. The food is always solid - I love all of their thali selections. This location was much more peaceful compared to the Palo Alto location. I stopped by on a Saturday evening, and there were only a couple tables that were occupied. I will say I feel like the portion sizes here are noticeably smaller than those at the Palo Alto location. This might be because all of the orders are packed to-go, so maybe there's less space for food? For instance, the thali from the Palo Alto location includes a side salad, which was not included in my order here. The other sides (pickled salad and daal lentil), along with the entree, were also significantly smaller here. The prices are the same, so I do think the Palo Alto dishes are more worth it.
