I cannot say enough great things about the staff and Dr. Altazurra. I have a fear of going to the dentist. But after walking in the office and meeting the staff I felt so relaxed and actually left feeling like I just meet a new family! It was such a pleasant experience. I will need a bit of work done but knowing that I will be walking into such an incredibly warm and welcoming environment will make my frequent visits a lot easier! I have been a patient at this office for about 3 years. What I love about this office is that the dentist is honest and no one tries to sell me anything. This is definitely your old school family practice where everyone is so nice and personable. They have had some recent staff changes but I must say the new staff is much better! We're from out of town. My daughter's built retainer broke and called Indian Wells Dental. So fortunately there was an appointment. The practice did a great job making my daughter feel comfortable and fixed her retainer. So thankful to Indian Wells Dental. read more

I've been a patient here for at least 20 years. I have had nothing but excellent care. My father was my Dentist for my first 30 years and Dr Altuzarra is right up there! Both attended USC Dental. After living in the desert for 5 years and putting up with a dental office with a revolving door for both dentists and support personnel I decided to move to an office with established dentists and personnel that had a long-term commitment to the office and their patients. I am very pleased that I found Dr. Altuzarra and Indian Wells Dental Office. From the patient's perspective I find Dr.Altuzarra to be caring, confident, honest and capable. For anyone skittish about dentistry he is very gentle and his injections are barely felt. Laurie, the hygienist is thorough, friendly and fun. The office and support staff are are appropriately businesslike yet cordial and friendly. I highly recommend this office and hope you have a similar experience. read more

So sad to have to write this review after 30 plus years of being a client, and was very happy with everything until May 26, 2016 I received a bill in the mail from 2-22-16 date of service The charge is for $1.00 so I called and talked to LAURA, she said I see you have an appointment for June 13-2016 just pay the dollar then. We have insurance Cigna that has a contract with Dr. Altuzarra for cleaning our insurance sent them a check on 3-14-16 for $373.00 for a cleaning. I will be bringing in my $1.00 in tomorrow in 1cent increments. Do not use this office they have no loyalty. Next I will be calling Cigna and next year they might not have a contract. Kim read more

Came into the dentist office. We are from out of town and went in 30 mins before closing and after having a chipped tooth it's a scary situation because you don't chip a tooth everyday and after having a toddler jumping off the walls at the office causing extreme anxiety, I told the child to stop and Sheryl that works there refused service because apparently in the united states of America our right to speak was abused. The staff is always pleasant and very accommodating. When I have a question or problem if they cannot answer it on the spot, they do their best to obtain the answer and call back. Lori the Dental Hygienist has a great energy and diligence when doing her cleanings. She makes sure I leave with my pearly whites gleaming bright. She's very detail oriented. I would also like to speak highly of Rose another hygienist who came in just to help me with my crown issue. I have received nothing but kindness and honesty from this office. Great place. Why didnt I listen to my wife for the past 10 years? They are fair, competent and affordable. There is a post by someone who had a $1.00 dispute. That is not fair. Professionals live by their reputations. If I had a $1.00 dispute I assure you I would just pay the $1.00. These folks have a great deal: for $329 they will give you a discount, clean your teeth twice and a full set of xrays. That is fair and cuts out the dental insurance that is so very much not insurance at all. read more

I was waiting at the office today to get my teeth cleaned and I saw a young nice couple get a service turned down after asking a child to stop jumping off the walls and it was extremely unprofessional to have a child running all over the place and she was unattended. The poor young lady had some sort of chipped tooth and was crying her eyes out because Sheryl the dentist didn't want to fix her tooth all because they told the kid to please sit down and not be so crazy because the young girl was shook up from having a chipped tooth with a headache. I never in my 34 years of living have seen a dental office turn down a dental emergency. It blew my mind that I did not want my teeth cleaned anymore. I'm taking my time out of my day to write this review for people that I don't even know because to me it was extremely inhumane in my opinion because now the poor young girl is now going to deal with emotional distress because a dentist would not care for her. Please anyone that reads this do not come here. If nothing is done about Sheryl working there there needs to be serious re-evaluation about her working there read more

This is an update from my earlier posting that was very critical of Indian Wells Dental. Today is April 26, 2019. Yesterday I received a call from an office administrator at the Indian Wells Dental office . He said he had read my yelp review and wanted to express his regret about the situation about which I complained---the office's lack of an alerting system that an automatic payment withdrawal, $329, was pending. Apparently the office is now going to notify their customers that 1) this new year cycle is about to begin and 2) a new payment will be automatically withdrawn on such and such a date. Hallelujah. Thank you Indian Wells Dental for clearly weighing the criticism that comes your way and addressing it. As I mentioned in my critical piece, the one price dental "plan" they offer is a valuable perk for customers. "Live long and prosper." read more

I thought the staff was friendly and helpful, it's clean, and neat and they did a good job, I wouldn't suggest going if you don't have insurance because the cleaning and X-Rays were pricey. But all and all I would go there avian for future exams and cleanings! read more

Let me state right up front- I do NOT like going to the dentist! But, I lost a filling so something had to be done. Since moving to the desert, I haven't been to a dentist but my husband had come here based on some recommendations from people that I work with. I must say that this is the best dentist office that I have EVER been to. Faye, at the front desk was SO nice and welcoming. Carina, the hygienist, was so sweet and attentive. Dr Coleman was very professional while being easy to talk to. He made me feel so comfortable. He has lots of experience and it shows. Everyone in the office seemed to work well together and it really helped relax me. I would highly recommend this office! read more
