We visited INDIBAR on a Friday night. I was immediately impressed by the aesthetic, the design was beautiful and chic. All the food had incredible flavor! It was my first time trying Indian food, but my Indian friend who I dined with confirmed that it was authentic. The servers didn't have a very strong knowledge and understanding of the menu, but they were very attentive and friendly. There was a glossary at the back of the menu which describes certain ingredients/terms of the food which was so helpful! Interior is beautiful. As I've traveled to almost every state on my 13 trips to India, I think the dishes like chicken tikka masala need more traditional seasoning. Middle of the road Indian cuisine that leaves room for improvement. This was an excellent dinner. The space is really cool. Service started a little slow - we were there at 7pm on a Saturday night - but improved as the night went on. We enjoyed everything we ordered, but standouts were the kheema dosa (minced lamb and rice crepe) and the tandori chicken. I normally avoid ordering chicken at restaurants because it's boring, but this was SO flavorful. The only disappointment was the desserts, which just weren't very flavorful. Neither the pina colada nor the chai and biskoot blew us away. Next time I'll order an additonal savory plate instead! read more

The environment was absolutely amazing- you can tell thought went into each and every choice. The food- we could not recommend enough. At our table we shared the butter chicken, prawn curry, and lamb. With the prawn curry being a table favorite! As far as cocktails the tarbooze and coorg confidential were amazing! Superbly prepared and nicely plated. Indibar puts upscale Indian cuisine on the map in Scottsdale. An incredible experience from start to finish. The off-menu tomato soup seemed to be an all around favorite and our group agreed that it should be officially added to the menu! (Seriously, it was awesome!) The tandoori chicken and the mango curry with shrimp were also fantastic. The cocktail menu was innovative and fun (the Ulta Boiler Maker was mine, and even after tasting most of the other drinks people ordered I maintain that it's one of the best drinks I've had), and the desserts were a perfect way to wrap up our meal. Came here on the last day of a mini vacation with friends that also happened to fall on my birthday - it was perfect. They were super accommodating when we needed to move our reservation. Our server was great, she had that magic trick of appearing exactly when we needed her w/o hovering or interrupting us. We had some dietary restrictions and she was very helpful in speaking with the chef and explaining our options/their recommendations. Love this place!! From the stunning interior, delicious food and creative cocktails, Indibar was the perfect date night with the hubs. We really enjoyed the kale and walnut tikki, the lamb cheek, coastal prawn curry and the beef cheek pepper fry was my favorite. Both the lamb and beef were soo tender, cooked to perfection. For drinks, I had to try the nutkhat (bc I can never turn down anything pandan) and it did not disappoint! We ended the night with the piña colada dessert which was light and refreshing. You're not a steak house, Indibar...stop cheating diners like you are one. This place is trying way too hard to impress diners with small portioned plates disguised as gourmet with some fancy plating. Did they hire Chef Julian Slowik from The Menu?!? Waaaay better off going to the Taj Mahal in Old Town for gourmet Indian Food where you're not being overcharged and grifted. We came here with high hopes but unfortunately left incredibly disappointed. From start to finish the night just did not go well... My wife and I came here as a part of a large group of 11 people celebrating a friend's birthday. We came early before the rest of the group came so that we could enjoy a few drinks at the bar. I asked the female bartender for some cocktail recommendations and she looked at me like a deer in the headlights and literally could not even recommend one drink - very weird. I decided on a cocktail and it literally took 20 minutes before the bartenders even started making it. I had to ask them on the status twice before I got it and came to find out our bartender didn't even place the order. After wasting a half an hour at the bar, the rest of our group arrived and we were seated in their private room where it appears they host larger parties. Our waitress arrived and I can honestly say, I have NEVER had a worse waitress than the one that served us that evening. She was rude, hostile, looked visibly agitated that we were even there. She didn't greet us, didn't smile, didn't speak to us other than just asking for our orders. All of the food arrived late, drinks weren't delivered, everything was totally disorganized. When the food started coming out, our waitress had no idea who ordered what and was placing the wrong items in front of the wrong people. We asked for a side order of rice that we never received and she literally slammed it on the table. When we finally got our food, she immediately addressed the table and said it was last call in the kitchen so if anyone wants dessert we need to order it NOW. How rude is that? You pay a lot of money for a place and the minute that they finally bring out your food you have to order dessert immediately because the kitchen is closing?! The food was equally disappointing. VERY expensive and the portions are a complete joke. I spent $34 on Tandoori Shrimp and they were good but I literally received 3 shrimp! Also ordered the Pork Ribs Vindaloo and they were totally bland, no flavor. My wife ordered the Butter Chicken and it was absolutely nothing special. Tikka Shack has just as good Butter Chicken for a fraction of the price. To top it all off, our wonderful waitress screwed up several of our checks and when she was asked to fix them she literally looked like she was ready to punch somebody. Indibar markets itself as an authentic upscale Indian experience, sadly this could not be further from the truth. This place better get it's act together because they lost 11 customers that night.
