Unfortunately, our experience was ruined by an extremely rude bartender with blonde hair and glasses. We waited a long time just to receive menus, and when IDs were checked, mine and my guest's were thrown back onto the table rather than handed to us. When my brother was still looking at the menu, the bartender yelled, "Do you know what you want yet?" which felt completely unnecessary and disrespectful. Customer service matters, and this interaction made us feel unwelcome. She then said she was leaving for the day, which made everything make sense...she was in such a rush to get out so she could careless if we had proper service. Very disappointing. read more

So if that's not your thing probably not a good idea to go inside. The Old Fashion was great and the portion was awesome. The food was equally as good. My review has been removed twice, but it is important for those considering this establishment know this before going in; if you go the staff is super, they are very accommodating. But even if you follow their instructions, be warned that you could be confronted by a very angry owner, he will be very rude and try to embarrass you and make it known that he is THE owner. I recommend you do not take your pet, even though it is pet friendly. There is another active review that backs this up, another customer experienced the exact same thing as we did. I know the owner does not want my review to remain, he does not want his actions to be known. My experience was real and embarrassing to us, especially when what he did was uncalled for, we are two 60plus Veterans there to enjoy a beer and a meal, we minded our own business, talked quietly, followed instructions of staff, paid and tipped genously. Three of us came for the first time and were the first ones in the place at 11:30, when they open. Our waitress was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and about the menu and beers. We all ordered the burger and fries and everyone was happy with the meal. The burgers came out hot, cooked medium and very tasty. Our only knock on the burger was they were smaller in size compared to other burger places, but were $14 not $19 which most other restaurants charge. Really like the indoor/outdoor setup and the knowledgeable staff when it comes to finding the right beer. What's really odd is the restroom setup: behind a door are a series of doors for anyone to use. My dad felt uncomfortable going behind a door to this room and I also along with another female patron found this odd and potentially dangerous. Why have a door to a room of doors vs. not have the door at all? Also, had to walk past many of them to find a toilet seat down to use. The woman I was speaking with really disliked the bathroom setup also and talked about her friend found people having sex in one of the stalls on a separate visit. Sigh. read more

Exciting new bar in Indio!!! Went on a Sunday, and it was super crowded. Bar staff was a bit overwhelmed. Ordered a bottle of Prosecco, that was on the menu, but they were out. The owner came over and found more bottles of Prosecco. Hopefully, they will have more next time we go. Food- we shared one of the torta sandwiches, it was pretty good. Ordered the zucchini- baked in a lot of oil and some chilis on top. Was expecting fried zucchini, was caught off when these came. I met my little brother for a beer, on the first day of our vacation. I arrived a little after 3:30. I was surprised to see how many people were in there. I was given an option to sit at the bar, so I sat at the bar. (All of the tables were full.) Very nice lady, with big eyes, got me a few menus and a glass of water. She asked if I wanted a beer. I was excited to see 805 on tap, so I requested one. They were out. So, I asked her to surprise me with a beer on tap. I was brought a Slap and Tickle. I have never had a fruitier beer, in my life. It smelled like guava. It has weird sweet and sour notes. I should have just ordered a Negra Modelo. My brother got a Guinness, sadly in a can. My brother asked what appetizers she recommended. She picked up the menu and read it to him. I asked which was her favorite. "Well, you could pick the ones you like." Okay. I ordered the house chips and he got zucchini. The zucchini was medallions of zucchini that were grilled, likely on a flat top, as I didn't see any grill marks. What surprised me was the varying thicknesses of the zucchini medallions. There was a relish on top of them and a orange colored oil underneath. He said they tasted ok. My chips were super thin and very overcooked. They were very nearly chocolate brown. I picked through and picked out the least burnt ones. But, the sauce that they were served with was incredibly flavorful! They advertise the appetizers as small plates, perfect for sharing. Everyone might get a bite or two, but I thought they were overpriced for the portion size. Service was quick. Everyone was friendly. My favorite thing were the bathrooms! There are 8 or 9, I counted but forgot how many, bathrooms, each with a mural and number on them. In each there is an individual toilet. The walls go all the way up and the doors lock, so the bathroom is truly coed (and safe). Bar is really long. A few patio tables and pillow patio chairs. Inside, there are some hightop tables. We LOVE the Indio Taphouse. First thing I notice is that it's incredibly clean, front doors are wide open for an indoor / outdoor environment. Staff is by far the most welcoming and engaging. Seven years living in the Desert and the best service by far from any establishment we have visited. That's saying everything to all you restaurant owners out there. Hire amazing staff and your business will flourish! Our favorite item on the menu is so unlike us, but it's the Carne Asada Fries! You must try these. This place is perfect for an impromptu happy hour, a drink after a round of golf or whatever. The vibe is young and fun, artsy and hip, very cool spot.
