Pluot tart, black sesame pain suisse, butter croissant, chocolate chip cookie

Came during Hana Quon's residency because I love her baked goods from Honolulu! We came on a Saturday morning around 10 and it was pretty crowded but the line moves very fast. We tried a bunch of different pastries but our favorites by far were the maritozzi and pluot tart. Hana has a way with fruits and these were both incredible. We also got the chai and a latte with miso caramel, both of which we thought were just fine. It definitely is on the pricier side, and it was VERY hot inside as there was a heat wave that day and I can't imagine how hot the kitchen was with the ovens running, but all the girls were so sweet.

Everything was so good (besides matcha lattes but that was expected) the line is well worth it I fear. Best to come within an hr of opening for shortest wait experience Egg Sando - soft fluffy eggs on soft fluffy bread, topped with chili oil. we really enjoyed this. Pistachio Praline Double-Baked Chocolate Croissant - heavenly. sweet. crunchy. pistachio chocolate dream. Turon Kouign Amann - personally my #1. banana pastry cream filling is not too sweet, the banana is like a sweet crispy brown sugar coating, i loved this so much Mango Maritozzi - sooo fluffy and airy and light, the mango whip is amazing! calamansi curd is tart but not overwhelming at all. fresh mango. she's 5 stars Cinnamon Roll - how can u go wrong The variety of pastries is unique and it's clear they put so much care and thought into them all. I truly can't wait to return

Cinnamon roll with cream cheese frosting

Came on a Sunday afternoon and the line was out the door! Tends to move quickly though and they have a menu outside for you to look at which is super helpful. Some highlights: -Cinnamon roll with cream cheese: this isn't on their menu but I saw they had two kinds of cinnamon rolls- one with cream cheese frosting and the other with buttermilk frosting. I ended up going with cream cheese and I'm so glad I did! It looks a little intense, but the frosting was actually really light, creamy, and not too sweet. The cinnamon roll itself was also really soft and pillowy. It's decently sized too, definitely share with your group! -Whoopie pie: forgot what the full name of this pastry was but it was essentially two green tea cookies that sandwiched a marshmallow filling. So good! -Black Sesame croissant: the black sesame filling was so good! Not grainy and spread evenly throughout the pastry. I would skip the drinks and cookies. Drinks were very standard and not worth the price (each pastry is $7-$10 already) and there's better matcha at other places. Cookies were a little underwhelming- too crunchy for my taste.

Apricot Ricotta Cheesecake Croissant and hojicha oatmeal whoopie pie

Love what this bakery stands for with representing different chefs, cultures and pastry styles via a rotating pastry chef every few months. Located a couple blocks off of Balboa park which is nice if you want to get a pastry/coffee and walk over. Items are pricier but the flavors are worth it. I came on a weekday right before open and there was already a line so you want to make sure you get there early if you want all of the selection. Right now they have a chef from Hawaii! The whole menu looked amazing but I only got a couple so I'll definitely have to be back. I got the hojicha oatmeal whoopie pie and the apricot ricotta cheesecake croissant. The whoopie pie was hefty! Two big oatmeal cookies filled with marshmallow meringue. The hojicha flavor was a little light for me but the actual cookie was delicious and I liked the oatmeal texture. The apricot croissant was amazing! I've never had a ricotta cheesecake and I loved how much lighter it was than the traditional. The plum marmalade was a nice sweet/tart contrast too. Service was fast and friendly. Definitely worth checking out.

Michi Michi is hella fire. Small little cozy spot in Bankers Hill. I grabbed the pistachio roulé, hōjicha oatmeal cookie, caviar quiche, and the miso caramel latte. Every single thing slapped. That latte is a must, and the quiche was crazy good. Lowkey, park a little farther, grab your coffee and pastries, then walk over to Balboa Park. You'll get your steps in and burn the calories you ate!

Workers were all friendly, pastries all looked really good, bought a cinnamon roll for $8. It was fresh but a little dry, not that much flavor. Nothing special about it to justify the premium price. I get that it's homemade so it's pricier but shouldn't that make it better than store bought? A roll from Cinnabon blows this one away. Also found it comical they charge $16.50 for a berry tart the size of a deck of cards.

One of the most unique bakeries I've been to. I ordered the apricot ricotta cheesecake croissant, and it was absolutely incredible. The croissant was perfectly flaky and crunchy on the outside while staying light and airy inside. The ricotta cheesecake filling was rich and creamy with just the right amount of sweetness, and the apricot topping, along with the delicious apricot sauce, tied everything together perfectly. The pastries are on the pricier side, but the quality, creativity, and flavors make them well worth it. The staff was friendly, and while there was a line and it got pretty busy, the wait was absolutely worth it. I can't wait to come back and try more of their unique pastries!

Showed up at a popular time as the line was long, but went by quickly. Was happy to see a vegan option, but wish there were more vegan or dairy free options. Maybe there is, but the day I went they only had one vegan option. I ordered the one vegan option which was a cookie. It was good. Decent size so you can save some for later if you want LOL. my friend ordered the callabaut semisweet chocolate croissant and she said it tasted delicious. For her amount of chocolate was good and the croissant was buttery which combined well with the chocolate. My recommendation would be to put the menu on their website or IG even if it's a picture of the listed items in case they don't want to type out the information.

Very nice collective with rotating menu and resident chef. I came in June to try chef Ashley del Rosario's pastries. Her Turon-Kouign Amann pastry was so delicious!! It's best to come open minded to try new flavor combinations because you'll never know what they have if you don't check their socials and website. I would come visit again to try the next chef's work!

michi michi always has rotating pastries made be different pastry chefs and it's always a treat to come back to try different ones! check their insta for the latest pastries. my go to is always the egg salad sando, it's so savory, creamy and the chili crisp on top is amazing. the bread they use is so fluffy i love it! the cinnamon roll was good and i loved the cream cheese frosting on top, eat it fresh! the stand out pastry from Hana Quon was the quiche Lorraine which was topped off with caviar! always happy to come back! there's street parking and lovely stores near that you can also walk to.

I love the idea of a baking collective where they rotate different bakers. I found out about this place through Instagram and knew I wanted to try the different Filipino desserts that are available right now. I would definitely recommend coming here earlier in the day when they have all of the pastries. There was also a line both times but it moved quickly. My personal favorites were the turon Kouign Amann, choc nut loaf, buko pandan supreme, and kare kare baked good. I definitely went crazy and tried a bunch of pastries the two times I went here just because I was so curious about all of the different options!! The portions are generous for the price and they don't skimp on the fillings. The only one I would pass on would be the lumpia roll. The experiences I had the two times I stopped by was super encouraging and I would definitely keep an eye on this place to see what other bakers are showcasing to try all the great desserts.

We found street parking easily around 9:45am on a Saturday. There was a line out the door when we arrived, but we waited maybe 10-15 min. The space inside is small. There are some tables outside but there's not much shade. The almond croissant with chocolate and banana was really good. There was generous filling. The misocaramel latte was reaaaally good. I love the sweet and saltiness of it and love that it comes with oat milk.

Even with reduced sweetness, it was still sweeter than I prefer and had a slightly artificial flavor. That said, the cashier was very sweet, and the dessert display looked beautiful and tempting. While the coffee didn't win me over, I'd still come back to give their desserts a try since they looked much more appealing than the drink I ordered. Overall, a nice spot with friendly service, but next time I'll be skipping the flavored coffee and trying one of the desserts instead.

One was a Snickers chocolate cupcake and the other was a Strawberry Shortcake cupcake. They both tasted good, but nothing really spectacular that I would have to go back for. The Snickers one tasted basically like a regular chocolate cupcake with a miniature sneaker placed on top. The Strawberry Shortcake one had some type of strawberry crumble on top which was good. I would say that was my favorite of the two. If you come on Tuesday they are $2 for the cupcakes, so something to keep in mind. They have a variety of other desserts and even drinks as well.
