Receipt weirdness seems to be worked out, they do everything tableside direct now. Beer solid but they were reworking the menu or something and half the beers on the list were gone and we had no idea what was on tap (and both glasses were about 1" shy from the top). The guy helping us was super pleasant but I really freak out when someone just stands there and asks what I 'normally' drink and they'll just tell me if they have that. Well, I have no normal. I'm sorry, really. I like to peruse the wild world of beer. Hubby sandwich deemed dull. Pineapple stuff on the Hawaiian burger was pretty darn good though and burger was cooked as requested. Fries undercooked, very pale. "Heinz" ketchup on the table was so runny is was like tomato soup. Weirdness! Service - guy who helped us and was tending the bar area was great. Funny, welcoming, tried his best with the beer list fiasco. The gal who delivered our food from the kitchen was super grumpy... quite the contrast to our upbeat bar dude. If I wrote a review for Initiative a year ago, it would've been hands down 5 stars. This used to be my favorite place in Redmond! I love the cocktail options, especially the pear sidecar. I am very disappointed by the new food menu, which is the reason I haven't been going there any longer. My boyfriend and I used to go to Initiative literally just for their delicious Mac and cheese and the clam chowder. Both items were removed when the menu changed. We have been back to try the new menu twice since the change and were very disappointed both times. The first time, I was unaware that there were new menus. I took my entire family there to try the superb Mac and cheese and clam chowder that I had been raving about, and we were unable to try either. The most recent time I tried it, I ordered a burger that was so red I didn't feel comfortable eating it. The side of fries that came with it ended up being the loaded pub fries, which were not what I ordered. This visit I would have given 1 star, though I am hopeful that the previous menu items we knew and loved will return! The staff are friendly, and I do appreciate the nice outdoor patio. read more

My husband liked his chicken sandwich. Service was good Waffle puppies were dry and coarse compared to their description. My bean and rice bowl was SEVERELY Lacking. You cannot carry a five ingredient dish with plain rice and bland beans. I added salt, pepper and some random sauce from another dish at the table and it was still bland. The only flavor devoted to the dish was in the chimichurri sauce. If a vegetarian option is listed it should be able to stand on his own without the reasoning that people can add chicken or meat which adds flavor. 2 stars instead of one because service was good and chicken sandwich was decent. read more

My girlfriend and I love this place and just started going in the summer of 2021. They have trivia and cornhole tournaments on certain nights. To be honest, we just go there to enjoy bacon cheese fries while getting out of the house and have not had many other dishes. New place, fun atmosphere, friendly service. The food was tasty. I felt the food was a bit overpriced but they are new and have to stay afloat. I get it. I had the cauliflower. It was great. I believe it was listed as gluten free but I'm not sure the dipping sauce was. I'm not sure I got accurate answers about that but luckily I'm not dangerously allergic to gluten. I didn't mention this then, but if they are serving a dish labeled as gluten free, they need to make sure all components are also gluten free. My daughter had the veggie bowl (quinoa bowl?) She said it was good but a bit dry. Again, we should have told the people working there but we were so wrapped up in our conversation and hungry, we didn't. I apologize to Initiative for that. So good! Hubby and I ate there on a Saturday afternoon. He had the Cowboy burger and loaded fries, I had the parry melt and sweet potato tots. They were some of the best burgers we've had in quite a while. Everything was good, including the Russian stout, which was tasty and not too bitter. We'll definitely be going back! read more

Another new brewery in Redmond that brewing good beer. Both your traditional IPA along your Porters an Stout. The other nice thing is they have a full bar(Wine & mix drinks). The bartender knew their stuff an it had a nice atmosphere. They are still working on the outside patio seating, but it has potential. The food is good, but the kimchee French fries could do without the sweet sauce an the kimchee could be cut finer I wish their seats were a little more conformable. The metal rebar they used needed to angled about 6% for the back rest instead of being so straight. read more

I had the vegetarian Korean kimchi burger. So good! The French fries were done nicely, too, although they could have been a little more crispy. My husband ordered the Tiki Masala Chicken tacos. Great taste, but a bit too juicy/sloppy to handle without a lot of mess. The chairs were VERY uncomfortable. Heavy to maneuver and no padding. Some padded booths would be a big plus. Updating my old review. This place has really stepped it up since they first opened. Their food is REALLY good. Carnitas tacos, burgers, and the Chicken Bahn-Mi are my favorites. Wow!! That's the first word that comes to mind about this place!! The food here is amazing and has some of the best Gluten free options I've ever seen! I love the GF chicken waffle sandwich and the maple sriracha aioli it's to die for! My mom ordered the Loren burger and their Pilsner and she said it was one of the best she's had (she's from Portland and has lots of choices)!!
