From the moment you walk in, the difference is night and day--the facility and restaurant are immaculately clean and well-maintained, easily blowing the locations I've visited in Houston out of the water. Beyond the pristine environment, the staff here is remarkably friendly and welcoming, making every visit a pleasure. And the food? Absolute perfection. Since I went to Tanaka Farms in Irvine in the morning for their summer melon tours, I finally found myself near Tustin before 2PM to finally try Kolache Factory. It was recommended to me by a friend years ago. We were able to find parking in the lot and there was not too much of a line when we arrived. The store is small with only two counters along the wall to stand if you want to enjoy your kolaches in-store. They will heat the kolaches for you if desired. There was an extensive selection of breads, both sweet and savory. We ordered several ones to try, and the soft outer bread reminded me of Filipino pan desal. The breads were flavorful, some of the fillings on the slightly saltier side. We also enjoyed two lemonades. Prices were affordable, and service was friendly. The only other issue is that they are still working out the kinks of their new rewards program, so even though I downloaded their app I could not figure out how to add the points for my purchase on either the app or their website. read more

Anytime someone asks me for easy breakfast options of good pastries, I introduce them to Kolache Factory! It's easy, fast, delicious, and has great opening hours. Parking is within the same plaza as a couple of other businesses. There are only a handful of parking spots in the front and a couple on the sides if you're willing to walk more. The interior of the store is clean. There are seats on the exterior but not inside. The lines snake inside, instead, making it fairly small. Whenever I come to the store, I make sure to check in through the kolache app. When you check in, you get a number that is attributed to your account so you can give the cashier. The kolache app is great because I get discounts and a free kolache per month. I buy more than a dozen when I visit! The kolaches can be warmed up and the filling can be savory or sweet. I love their potato, egg, and cheese kolache. Another good flavor is their jalapeño popper or Philly steak. A single kolache can absolutely fill you up so be warned! The workers here don't really smile at you or have customer service. They don't say a lot or are friendly. If you're expected some "hellos" or "how are you?"s. Expect amazing bread with delicious fillings, but not being serviced. Thought they are very quick. read more

Our instructor brought two boxes in for the class to nosh on the last day. There were a variety of types written on the underside of the lid, but no divider nor any way of figuring out which is what when the box tipped to the side. I really didn't want the sunshine and was looking for the bacon egg and cheese... can't be sure unless you bite into each one. Very doughy filling and sharing with others so not really able to take a few to try. I wish there was a way to brand the top like my person does with her empanadas. I have been here many times. This time was because a family member is coming into town and can use an easy breakfast on the go. I got a half dozen ranchers. They are mildly spicy abd delish. There was no wait. We were there on a weekday around noon. The vibe is casual and the place is always clean. They were still warm. I take a piece of wax paper and wrap it and freeze them. Try to put in the fridge the night before and microwave before eating. The perfect on the go breakfast. It is a hearty breakfast. I could probably have a half but its hard to not finish. Finally had kolaches, and they did not disappoint! I tried the potato egg and cheese one and it was absolutely delicious. Soft doughy ball stuffed with a variety of different flavors and options. I had a cinnamon roll which I shared with my husband, we both thought it was delicious. I also had a cheesecake flavored latte, they offer milk alternatives like oat and almond milk, I opted for oat milk, and my latte was surprisingly good. Not super sweet which I liked. Customer service was great. The cashier who took our order was super helpful and was patient with us as it was our first time here. Inside the place is small, there is a counter with stools along the windows and some seating outside as well. This is more of a grab and go place but we ate there and we had a great experience overall. We will be back here for sure to try more! read more

These are so delicious! I had a few for the first time today and was so pleased! Ordering is fast and easy with a dunkin style view of the options and the staff was sooo friendly so early it was a great start to my day. I got the ranchero and it was STUFFED so tasty with a perfect spice, it did not need hot sauce the flavors were just right. I also got the sausage and gravy which was delicious however not nearly as good as the ranchero. I will say the gravy had a spice from the pepper and was tasting very fresh. Just utterly fantastic and all the flavors are so good. We had the Philly Cheesesteak and the Chicken Enchilada. The bread itself outside was very soft, pillow-y, and moist. Not only that, they have all sorts of sauces to go with your kolache to match whatever flavor profile you are interested in. Went here on a Sunday to grab a quick pick-up breakfast. We ordered online, and were able to pick up in about 15 minutes. I've never had anything like these before they are little (slightly sweet) buns filled with different breakfast sandwich fillings (e.g., sausage egg and bacon, chorizo, etc). I had lived in Texas for about a year but never got around to having a kolache so I was excited to see there was a Kolache Factory here. I picked up the Potato egg and cheese; bacon egg and cheese; and the pecan smoked sausage. My favourite would have to be the pecan smoked sausage which had a pleasant savory smoky flavor. If you have not tried Kolache's, they are a must try. I would describe them as a ball of delight. My favorite are the more savory ones, but I know they also have sweet, pastry like flavors. The employees are always quick and helpful. My favorite flavor is the chorizo and egg, the potato, egg and cheese and the pizza one. However, they will all surprise you. There are a few high seat chairs inside if you want to have a quick bite. And there are two small tables on the outside too. Kolaches are a Czech pastry that has found its' way to OC. I heard there's more of these in Texas, which is where my boyfriend first discovered them. He was intrigued to see a Kolaches Factory in OC when he was visiting me. Since they are compact and convenient, they make a really good snack for the road. We decided to get some for our roadtrip to Santa Barbara. My boyfriend only asked for a few but I got a little carried away ordering. We got the following and I'll put notes next to the ones I tried. Flavor of the Month - San Antonio ($4.90) - Has eggs, potato, chorizo, and some other things. A lot of flavors. Ham & Cheese ($3.35) - We shared half half and the inside bits of ham were chopped up. Interesting. BBQ Beef ($3.95) - We shared this one and both not impressed. Really dry bbq. Sausage Cheese & Jalapeno ($3.75) 2 Bacon Egg & Cheese ($4.90/each) - One of my favorites, simple breakfast bite. Chorizo ($4.90) Sausage & Cheese ($3.75 value, complimentary with yelp check in) Cream Cheese ($2.45) - Reminds me of a danish but way more bready. Croissant Texas Apple ($6.95) - WARNING sweet AND SAVORY. This weird croissant has an apple pie filling meats BACON AND CHEDDAR. I couldn't bare a second bite. Blehhhhhh. They labelled the boxes in a mirrored point of way which is really counter intuitive. In general I feel like the kolaches had a bready exterior, very soft. I prefer the savory breakfast application. My workplace provided the egg kolaches for brunch once and they were so good that I decided to stop by again today to try another flavor. I got the chicken enchilada kolache and the caramel macchiato. They heat up your kolache upon request and the outside was so soft and pillowy while the inside bursted with flavor. The kolaches were tasty though a bit pricy. We only went because it was Easter weekend and wanted to try something different. We got the polish sausage , the bar b q beef brisket, 2 jalapeño poppers and the egg, sausage and cheese and a sausage plain one. They have so many fillings to try. Customer service was very good. We'll be back again to try some other different kinds. They're like little dough balls the size of a small doughnut with a little bit of filling inside that they heat up for you. The polish dog was the only good size one. We paid 33.69 for our kolaches and for that price we could have had a pretty decent full breakfast or a ham and cheese croissant somewhere else. Spinach Kolache: A budget steakhouse cream spinach that is served on a flat bread. The cream (or cheese) overpowers the spinach taste but it's still good. Bbq brisket Kolache: It tastes like generic bbq. What do you expect from $3? The brisket was a bit difficult to identify given that bbq sauce reigned supreme in the interior. Plus points for not skimping out on the filling. Service: Nothing to speak of. Staff rang me up, microwaved my Kolache, and I went on my way. It was sooo delicious! They're small, but it's worth buying a box or a few Kolaches. It's very soft and so much flavor packed into a small Kolache. The only downside is you would have to eat it right then and there, otherwise, if you leave it out too long, the Kolache gets hard. Depending on the time of day you arrive, some of the Kolache you want may be out of stock, like a bakery. So go early if you would want to try more flavors. The bread is good. The fillings are average. They reheat things in the microwave. I find these are better taken home and heated in your oven to add some crisp to the bread. Some bonus points they have pecan flavored coffee which you don't usually see outside of Texas. They also had a pecan sausage kolache which is on the list to try. FYI the polish sausage is a slightly spicy hotdog it is not kielbasa. They close at 2. So this is not a late afternoon or dinner spot. Parking here sucks.
