Very good cookie. My goal is to try every chocolate chip cookie place in Irvine. Warm and crispy and gooey on the inside too. It gets minus points for being on the small side. I'd go back but value isn't there. But the cookie is very good!

A consistent, solid cookie! I've tried so many, but always forget to share my thoughts. We come during the afternoons for a little pick me up. Service is fine- nothing amazing. Store is clean and sweet. I don't love their spoons (they always break). But the ice cream- especially the carmelinaire is amazingggg!!!

Don't play with me dawg. Why yall been holding out on the insomnia crack cookies. They remind me of my childhood, back when I lived in these high end apartments in San Diego. They'd bake fresh ass choco chip, white chocolate macadamia and the occasional shitty oatmeal raisin (although they weren't even that bad) This place is a bit better than crumbl in my most humble elite yelpist onion. It's my second time at this Insomnia cookie and it just okay. The first time I got a regular cookie and it was small and nothing special. I tried it again cause I had a free cookie reward for a deluxe cookie and it was bigger and a good cookie. I got the s'mores one which was pretty good. Only bad thing is they only have 6 deluxe cookie options.

You guessed it... this cookie spot gets its name because it opens into the weeee hours of 1 AM on weekdays and 3 AM on weekends! Located in the University Town Center (UTC), great late night snack for students with insomnia I suppose... hah. Net zero thinking: I kept passing by this place after spin class so obviously got to reward myself with dessert! The mega calorie count on the ice cream sandwiches blew my mind - but that's expected. So I opted for the deluxe cookie, an upgrade from the classic. ...and what blew my mind more than the cookie? The price!! $5.49/cookie!! The cookie was a decent chunky size and freshly warm, but frankly I felt the cookie tasted dense and medicore. Nothing too special on the service the day I went either - order, grab, go. No sweet smile nor small talk to go along with the sweet cookie. Might give a different flavor and the classic a try next time after gym class, but nevertheless satisfies the cookie craving!

So we ordered cookies from Insomnia today. They surely aren't cheap. We got three cookies, larger than a normal size cookie, not huge, about the size of 2 or 3 regular cookies put together? But it was like $13 per cookie! We were all totally surprised when our office coordinator told us how much they were. We had a M&M chocolate chips cookie, a peanut butter chocolate chip, I think, and a snicker doodle. They were okay, nothing to write home about. Definitely not worth $13 per cookie.

I'd have to say, if it hadn't been for the fact they're open super late (as suggested from the name), I wouldn't have even given this spot a try. Located within University Center in Irvine, Insomnia is a convenient spot to grab some late night dessert open till 1 am in the morning. As for the cookies, they offer various delicious sounding flavors. I opted for one of the newer seasonal options, the Strawberry Lemonade which was part of their Garden Collection. The cookie was honestly a bit smaller than I imagined for the price of $4 but it was served nicely warm with decently sweet Strawberry flavor, solid texture (could be a bit crunchier), and a nicely complementing strawberry lemonade jam filling which I enjoyed. I'd love to perhaps sample other flavors to get a more accurate gist of how their cookies are overall but all in all, I was satisfied with my late night craving though a bit pricey.

I ate this up!! Perfect for a late night sweet treat!! Service was quick, and cookies were ready and warm. I love the crispy edges and soft center, makes for a perfect cookie. Small seating inside but it was nice to take and eat outside. I'll definitely be coming back!!

I can't believe I've never tried Insomnia cookies. I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious their ice cream and cookies were! The cookies were definitely my favorite, especially the white chocolate macadamia. I also ordered the confetti and peanut butter chip cookies which were incredible as well. Their cookies are buttery, warm and crumbly with rich flavors. The ice cream was also so yummy! I loved their peanut butter insomniac tracks flavor. You can really taste the peanut butter and fudge swirls in the vanilla ice cream. Their cookies and cream flavor was also amazing. The service was wonderful and the place is very clean. I thought the prices were reasonable.

We ordered two cookies, peanut butter and the Brookie since I have a soft spot for both. I loved the flavors in both of them, they were incredibly soft and chewy. They were straight from the oven so all we needed was just a glass of milk. The gal serving us was very nice, and we were the only ones in there at that time, spacious area, but no tables inside. No worries though, there is plenty of seating outside. They had ice cream but we decided to save that for next time. I know we will be coming back, they are incredibly sweet so I can see how too many bites of that can be overwhelming, but we snacked on it throughout the day and I just finished the Brookie this morning so that's got to tell you something.

I went to Insomnia Cookies on 2/26 around 9pm with a friend, and unfortunately had a really uncomfortable experience. As soon as we walked in, one of the employees (female, college-aged- literally around my age) said something along the lines of, "Whenever I want to speak my truth, someone always walks in," then looked directly at us and said "no offense," like we were supposed to laugh. It was awkward and honestly really immature. We had just walked in to buy cookies and immediately felt like we were inconveniencing her. I also work in the food industry, so I understand how shifts can be. But comments like that in front of customers are unprofessional- especially when it wasn't even busy. We were actually celebrating an important occasion and were looking forward to getting cookies. I honestly wanted to walk out because it felt so uncomfortable, but I didn't want to leave my friend. That's not how anyone should feel walking into a place they're spending money at. I hope management addresses this, because basic professionalism and customer awareness go a long way.

Maybe it's just me but these cookies aren't that good and did not live up to the hype for me. We tried an assortment of them and although the unique flavors were all mostly interesting, it was pretty in your face and after 2 bites you've had enough. We also door dashed because it was late and we are lazy af but for like 10 cookies or so it was 70+ dollars which is absurd. I'm sure its a bit cheaper if you go in person, but I still would never even half this much for cookies.

Took away 1 star because service was not the best Looked like the guy behind the counter didn't even wanna be there No spoons available for the ice cream. Had to ask the worker for a spoon and he gave it but given COVID you would think the plastic utensils should be covered in plastic to keep sanitary. Went back in my car had to clean the spoon with Clorox wipes that I now carry in the car before I can eat the ice cream Cookies promo was 12 for 12 was totally worth getting. Cookies taste yummy and soft/chewy. 5 stars for the cookies Other than better costumer service skills. 5 stars for the cookies. Red velvet and double chocolate mint are amazing read more

Went to get the Nurses Day promotion. The worker did not seem like he wanted to be there. I asked if they will honor the Nurses deal and he just flat out said I needed to buy something first which I was going to buy anyways. Bought a cookie and got the 6pack but I didn't check and only got the six pack and not the cookie I actually bought lol. read more

Purchased a 6 pack of cookies and two scoops of ice cream for the kids. The birthday cake ice cream tasted fresh and is one of the better tasting versions I've tasted. Cookies were good. Reasonable size and reasonably priced. Both workers were attentive and knowledgeable of their products. In the end, we would return to this place. read more

This place was awesome! All I did was order online and it was so easy! Got the cookies in a cute pizza box and the flavors were so good. So far I have gotten the double chocolate chunk cookie and the Oatmeal Chocolate Walnut Deluxe Cookie! Both cookies were very tasty and served warm! The cookies are on the more expensive side, but they do have very intricate flavor combinations. The only reason I took off a couple of stars was because the service was lacking. It took a couple of minutes from when I walked in for a worker to come out of the back room to help me. Even when he came out, it was pretty apparent he did not want to be there. This just made for an awkward experience, but I will probably come back because the cookies were tasty! read more

I don't usually provide low star reviews for any places but I'm a strong believer in the simple principle of being on time. I've been to Insomnia Cookies twice now, and each time my order has been delayed multiple times. Tonight I ordered my cookies at 8:26 PM or so, and the pickup was set for 8:45. I arrived and called to have the cookies brought to my car as their text message system suggests. When I called the girl said "I'm the only one here So I can't bring your cookies, you'll have to wait" and then continued to tell me that one of my cookies was still in the oven. I said no problem and continued to wait. I called another 10 minutes later asking for an update which is where I was asked to wait until 9:10 PM for the cookies. Just super delayed service and not the service I'm used to when I've been to insomnia cookies in the east coast and even in Arizona. Update: I got my 6 cookies at 9:18 PM or so. read more

Picked up a DoorDash order from here and had to wait a while since the store was busy. The workers were incredibly nice though and they even gave me a free chocolate chip cookie for the wait. It was such a great-tasting cookie and at about $3, the price is not bad at all for the quality of the cookie. Will definitely be coming back here again. read more

They refuse to accept cash even when you have the exact change! IMO that is highly illegal and discriminatory. Have you ever read the words on a dollar bill? It says "This Note Is Legal Tender For All Debts, Public and Private". I will NEVER support or shop at any business that does not accept the U.S. Dollar. I hope you either change your practices or you face charges of discriminatory business practices. read more

Insomnia Cookies is overhyped and overpriced. My friend and I came here in the late afternoon just to check it out. There were some customers already here, waiting for their orders. Service was terribly slow and it seemed understaffed. Not a very friendly environment. We got to try a sample of the ice cream and ended up ordering a traditional cookie'wich, consisting of coffee ice cream sandwiched between a white chocolate macadamia and double chocolate chunk cookie. Price was a steep $6.25 and if you browse all the menu items, this place is expensive. I mean, $19 for a dozen cookies?? I can literally buy 50 cookies from Vons for $5. There better be some gold flecks on those cookies, served on a silver platter or made with imported chocolate from Belgium. Cookies were a standard size, soft and very indulgent. If you have a big sweet tooth, this place hits the spot. Personally, I prefer a cookie with some crunch but this was like eating butter. I guess they warm it up way too much. It definitely has the melt-in-your-mouth quality but it was way too sweet. White chocolate macadamia was the star of the sandwich. It actually had a nice crispy texture and soft interior. Ice cream was nothing special. Very basic flavors offered and not the greatest. I guess the only thing this place has going for them -- that makes them stand out amongst their cookie competitors -- is that they open until 3AM for your late night cookie cravings. Maybe I'm just being really pessimistic or practical, but I can and do make my own cookies myself and making cookie sandwich isn't rocket science soooo. I guess I'm just one of those customers that don't fall under their demographic. read more

I love insomnia cookies! I first tried it when I was in Cambridge for school. I'm so glad they opened one up in Irvine! I love how you can get your cookie cravings all the way till 3am! If you love close by (within a 3 mile radius) you can get your cookies delivered as well! I've had good customer service since I've been coming here and amazing quality cookies! I highly recommend giving this place a try! read more

Ordered online at around 2:30-3pm and it was stated that the item would be ready at around 4 pm. I arrived at 4:45pm and was told that it would take 20 more minutes. After 20 more min they said it would take 10 more min. At this point I had to let them know that I would need them to expedite it because I had to a meeting at 6pm. I then learned that there was only one baker and tons of orders they had get through. Not entirely mad since they made the effort to be faster but still wasting 2 extra hours waiting was not fun. read more

Stopped by last week for the first time. The other reviews are true. It's amazing how crispy yet soft and warm in the middle these cookies are. I got the smaller size chocolate chip & the peanut butter one. They just melted into my mouth. I am annoyed with myself for not getting some milk. I think I devoured them in two minutes. insomnia is nice when you're up late at night with friends and craving something warm and sweet. super grateful for this place being so close to the uci campus and student apartments because it's only a short walk away. all the cookie flavors are solid, so just choose your favorite and you won't be disappointed. my favorites are the peanut butter chip and the double chocolate mint (not too minty). the loaded brownie was just ok but i'd recommend if you want something super sweet and chocolatey. insomnia cookies often has days where they give out free classic cookies with no purchase necessary, so look out for that. definitely worth grabbing one! thanks to insomnia for celebrating grads as well!! read more

The Cookies are warm and fresh. They are tastes, but some of the flavors aren't always available so you will have to wait 20 minutes or so if you order one of those flavors. The gluten free cookies aren't always readily available either. I felt bad because I brought a friend here so we could get gluten free dessert for her because she has a gluten intolerance and gets terrible stomachache. Unfortunately she couldn't get anything because they didn't have any even though it was listed on the classic menu. read more

Cookies were delicious, workers were very rude and looked miserable to be there. I had a pick up order for 2:30 and I was there at 2:45 and they still took 15 mins to get my order out. The guy that was helping me was rolling his eyes and proceeded to take a phone call while I was waiting leaving me to ask another cashier about my order. We were there Friday and there was a long line and wait mainly since they had only one employee working at the site so he had to not only take the orders but prepare them too. By the time our turn came at the register he requested that we wait till he finishes the current orders which were atleast 7-8. So we just came out without buying anything .Insomnia should consider employing more people and not skimp on the workforce read more

This place has the best cookies in Irvine. I love the classic chocolate chunk cookies. I also love the white chocolate macadamia cookies. You can also get a dipper or an ice cream sandwich. I highly recommend coming here for a treat. It's an excellent bakery. read more

Been hearing about the strike that the employees had recently and it sounds awful that they had to deal with these issues in the first place. From sexual harassment involving the MANAGER (Luis), low pays, uncoordinated management to many more issues I've been hearing about from a friend that used to work here, sounds like a horrible and very disorganized company to work for, since management does not seem to care about the safety of their employees. Just left here and had the rudest girl ever serve me and my friend, the guy working is so nice and respectful, but the girl with long black hair was extremely judgy and just gave us dirty looks the whole time and just not around had a foul attitude, not to mention her long hair dangling over the ice cream as she's scooping it. Sorry that's disgusting. read more

Went to Insomnia the other time to fulfill a cookie/ice cream craving. I love the fact that they have a gluten-free option, but I wish that they had more than just chocolate chip! The gluten-free flavor is vegan as well. Ordered with a scoop of strawberry ice cream to go and got a really good-sized serving of ice cream. The gluten-free definitely tastes like it is just baked from frozen, but it's still good when warm. Paired with ice cream, it's great too! The service was a bit slow even though there weren't many people in the store, but the staff member who was helping us was very friendly and upbeat. read more

It ruined the experience overall in general & I'd save your money and avoid coming here. Holy. Cow. As my bf says; we have found a new church. We'll be coming here every Sunday to worship these cookies. I had the Deluxe s'mores and Deluxe peanut butter cup. I seriously cannot describe how amazing these warmed up cookies are. You have to go now. Or they deliver for $4.00 My man said he wanted another bite of my S'mores cookie but feared he might lose a finger or two. LOL read more

We did: glazed, french toast, chocolate with chocolate sprinkles, chocolate covered strawberry, strawberry w rainbow sprinkles, and vanilla chocolate swirl. Day of, Gary was on time with the delivery (even with my last minute time change due to another delivery). Everything was accurate, fresh and carefully packaged. Duck donuts was such a hit! It had a very nice black tea flavor that shone through which is unique from other boba shops.

The cashier told us the credit card machine wasn't working, so the only payment options were cash or sending a Zelle payment directly to the owner. There was a small handwritten sticky note with an individual's name and phone number for the Zelle payment, which felt a bit odd. To be fair, there wasn't a large selection available when we visited, so it's possible they have other pastries or desserts that are much better than what we tried. However, based on our experience, the item we purchased was disappointing, and the $12 definitely didn't feel well spent. On the positive side, the décor and overall aesthetic were lovely and were probably the bakery's strongest feature. But as the saying goes, you can't judge a book by its cover... and you can't judge a bakery by its ambience either.

We had 3 purses left over and had not finished picking them up before they just jumped in, so you have to be fast to vacate. This experience just made me prefer takeout more, but I think my tourists wanted air conditioning and there was not enough outdoor seating for our party. Maybe next time I can eat a quantity more befitting of a smaller party.

YUM, I tried Insomnia Cookies 2 weeks ago and it is awesome, I tried out there chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream and I was literally loved it!!! I went at like midnight but guess what they were still open. I would have given you guys your last star but I am sorry to say that it was way to sweet for me. But that is only my opinion. Although let me just say it was delicious and very flavorsome. Don't worry it was not your guys fault I ordered a ice cream sandwich so probably you guys meant for it to be sweet! But I am a sweet lover so I love sweets but if this was to sweet for a sweet lover I wouldn't like that so much so that is why I gave you guys a 4 out of 5 instead of a 5 on 5 you guys totally deserve that other star but sorry it was to sweet so I didn't give you the other star. But let me just give you an extra credit that I love the box. But I couldn't close the box even though it was to go. Driver never showed up and labeled the delivery as delivered. Ordered from here on postmates and the delivery driver never arrived. I called the store multiple times and although the person working was nice enough to try and get me help, the driver never arrived nor picked up the phone. Their model of delivering cookies with their own drivers is an awful idea especially if you live in a complex since only they can reach out to you. The number I received from the store was support and the message just said to contact the store again lol. I waited downstairs for over 20 minutes and nothing. Waste of money and time. read more

I finally tried Insomnia Cookies and while the experience was okay, I don't really get the hype. The workers were friendly, and the cookies were served warm which was nice. However, they were pretty small and tasted very basic. They do offer plenty of options, and you can add ice cream which is a plus. I tried the limited edition Red Velvet cookie, and while it was good, it wasn't anything to rave about. Overall, it's an okay spot if you're craving a late night treat but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. read more

Insomnia Cookies is a very popular cookie shop that is known for being open very late. However, they also make some delicious cookies. I got their new special Peanut Butter cookie with Reese's, and boy was it delicious with the gooey, melty marshmallows! This spot sits inside UTC (University Town Center) right next to UCI. The service is always really nice, and I love the vibes. Overall, I highly recommend Insomnia Cookies for a great late night snack! read more

Horrible customer service. Their bunk, third-party delivery driver from Uber eats refused to deliver my order and then asked me for money on top of the delivery fee and tip. And he didn't speak English, so it was impossible to understand what you were saying for the first hour. And the restaurant refused to do anything about it and they said to call Uber eats and Uber said to call them. Like I said horrible customer service. read more
