Cute little coffee shop with a great vibe and charming decor. Ordering is easy through the two kiosk, which makes the process quick and convenient. The only downside was the wait time. Our drinks came out well before our bagel, and the bagel took so long that we ended up asking about it twice before it finally placed on the counter. Thankfully, both the drinks and the bagel were pretty good once we got them. Seating inside is somewhat limited since the space is small, but there is outdoor seating available, which helps. Overall, a cozy spot with good coffee, and friendly vibes. Just be prepared for a little extra wait if you order food.

Really great new spot for all kinds of Asian coffee drinks! It's in a quiet area with plenty of parking. Very comfy but limited seating inside and free wifi, so could be a great place to work. Self service kiosks for convenient ordering, though there's only 2 of them. Where they really shine is their drinks, I've only tried their Banana Viet Coffee but it was really dang good, with lots of fresh banana flavor and could still taste the Vietnamese coffee. And their menu is huge! I'd suggest looking online ahead of time, otherwise you'll be scrolling their tablets for a long time. Lots of limited time and seasonal drinks too. It's really pretty nuts. Definitely recommend if you're in the area!

Wow I wish I lived closer because this spot was so good! It completely took me by surprise, especially the food! We had the egg rolls, sweet potato fries, smiley potatoes, honey garlic bagel, pressed waffle w/ pandan & sea salt cream, and the ham & egg sandwich. When I tell you those smiley potatoes are actually so addicting to eat! Super well-seasoned and the perfect light crispy texture and soft potato inside. So good with their house ranch. The honey garlic bagel was also sooo yummy, along with their waffles and sweet potato fries. The cilantro sauce that the egg rolls came with was bomb. The sandwich was just okay to me but I dont really like egg salad. For drinks, we tried a whole bunch but we liked the thairamisu and the peach tea most! The coffees were actually really good and I don't like coffee, but the matchas were just okay (bit too milky). Service was 10/10; quick and super welcoming + attentive. The place actually does look like a bar; it's such a creative concept. They even shake up some drinks like they do at bars. I will definitely be back again if I'm in the area.

I'm always looking for good coffee shops and had been meaning to try this one. I placed my order using the self serving kiosk at the counter. We got the Vietamericano and Phin drip latte, both of which were really good. For food we got two breakfast bagel. Requested one without bacon. Service was a bit slow even though it was just us and another table. After about 10 mins I had to go nudge them for the bagels. When I finally received them, I saw both of them had bacon in it. They did make the bagel again but it took yet another 10 mins. Overall the bagels were very good specially with the Jalapeño cilantro aioli.

I was in the area and I stumbled upon this place. They had Vietnamese coffee and that got me wired ! I loved the taste and I definitely had the energy all day to be productive! You order your drink on the kiosk and they have drinks for kids too. This place is nice to meet a friend for a drink or to hang out. The staff was friendly and perfectly made my drink! Plenty of parking spots!

I got the Wendy last time and it was too sweet for me. I got the Biscoff milk tea this time and I really like the foam however it is still too sweet and there's not much of a tea taste. I feel like there should be more options for sugar preferences. The honey garlic bagel was pretty good tastewise but it was a little too greasy and oily. The honeycomb phin drip coffee was pretty good but there's not much of a honey taste to it.

I drove 35 minutes for the garlic bagel and it was worth it! However with these gas prices I can't justify coming by often but they know what they're doing with these bagels!! The drinks were okay, unremarkable for a nearly $8 milk tea I would only come back for the bagel.

I've been wanting to try this place ever since I saw it on social media and I finally got the chance yesterday for a pop-up bag charm event! It is far south of SJ so I have to go kind of far but I am addicted now!! It's very worth the drive. I came back today and it's nice that they open pretty late even on Sundays. The cilantro jalapeno aioli is delicious! It makes all of their snacks 10x better. I usually see that sauce a lot in socal but not normally here. I love how there's a variety of snacks as well as a few sandwiches/bagels, and a lot of dessert options. The egg sando is very yummy and a good portion. The sweet potato fries also pair perfectly with the aioli sauce. The milk tea isn't anything crazy but it's still good! Ambience is nice and service is fast. There's a good amount of seating but it can get busy on Saturdays. Parking lot also has a lot of spots.

Saw this on an episode of Foodies First Feast and had to try it myself. Saturday afternoon was busy! We were able to order quickly on a kiosk but it would've been nice if they had physical menus so you're not scrolling through the kiosk when there is a line. We ordered the strawberry matcha, pandan milk tea, classic Viet coffee, Thai tea, black milk tea, and li hing mui soda. The pandan milk tea was fantastic! Great combo of milk tea and with a fragrant pandan flavor. Place was so busy it's hard to imagine it being a good spot for studying. Definitely great place for drinks. Service was quick and they were nice too. Can't wait to come back to try the rest of the pandan series!

Insomnibar has become one of our favorite new spots in south SJ! They have such a great variety of drinks & snacks and are open till midnight which is awesome because so many coffee / tea places close early. The cafe itself has a decent amount of seating & is located in a plaza area with some other businesses so there's plenty of parking. Even though they've had a consistent flow of orders every time we've gone our drinks have been made pretty quick & they always taste amazing. My favorites are the strawberry cloud matcha, the Thai-ra-misu, & the dirty taro latte. I really love how many options there are bc no matter what I'm in the mood for the have something.

Overall: 3.5/5 I always pass by the plaza going home. I finally got curious and decided to try this place out. Inside is spacious and open, plenty seating indoors and outdoors. It had the dark but neon club aesthetic. I ordered on the kiosk where they had a variety of options (snacks and drinks) and a good selection of non-caffeinated drinks. Service was good (accommodating) and quick. Overall, I think the fruity drinks are sweet, milk teas are slightly watered down, and snacks are savory. Boba is also well-cooked, soft, and chewy. Drinks: - Roasted Oolong Milk Tea: you can definitely taste the roast but the tea is either subtle or watered down, honey boba saves it - Black Milk Tea: got it at 100% but it was not sweet, watered down - Pandan Honeydew: sweet, strong in honeydew, but can't taste the pandan - Thai-Ra-Misu: classic Thai tea - Strawberry Matcha: strawberry is subtle and giving Nesquik, can't taste much matcha - Peach Lemongrass Tea: sweet but refreshing, tastes like peach syrup, but I like how it actually has peach bits and jelly Food: - Smileys Mashed Potato Fries: soft and crispy, garlic seasoned - Cheese Tots: crispy, I recommend eating it right away for the desired cheese pull - Honey Garlic Bagel: sweet and savory bagel, cream cheese gave it a good balance, but it can be a but oily

Super cute aesthetic. I can see just based off that why it's so popular. But that's about it. The drinks are just mediocre and WAY over priced for what they are. Two drinks- one baby size and one regular...only one containing tea or coffee and hey we're over $20! Nothing special and not worth the cost.

Had this place 2 days in a row. Ordered the same thing (Pandan Matcha w/ Oat Milk, regular sweet). The only difference is I got the reg size the first time and a large the next day. I've been trying to find a good pandan matcha around sj and the first day I tried Insomnibar's Pandan Matcha it was actually reallly good, perfect amount of sweetness and a good balance between Pandan and matcha and you can taste both. Came back the next day and it was so so different. It was so bitter and I could barelyyyy taste any pandan. I was pretty sad since the day before was so good but didn't ask to remake because I was already close to home which is a 20+ min drive by the time I tasted it. read more

Coffee is good. Lack of customer service, they don't even announce order names which then lead us to just standing around and checking drinks. We waited 20+ mins for 2 drinks, a pressed croissant and a bagel. Again, lack of customer service and once we asked about the bagel it was lukewarm with missing cream cheese. My FAVORITE coffee bar! Everything about this place and its drinks were well thought out with an obvious attention to detail. The atmosphere is quiet, mellow, cozy, with fast Wi-Fi and plenty of outlets and comfortable seating so you can relax and/or get work done. The coffee is a special house blend and it is potent enough to keep my severely ADHD self going through the rest of the day even when I forget to take my stimulants! The drinks are made extra-concentrated so that you can enjoy it strong right away, or let mellow throughout your commute or sip throughout the day, which I love. The menu changes often to accommodate seasonal produce availability to ensure quality and consistency of flavor--I come often to see what new offerings they have and they never disappoint! My particular favorites are house Taro Latte and the Earl Grey Phin Drip Latte. My partner particularly loves the Banana Latte. The staffs are very friendly and I could see how they take care of customers. I'm a big fan of matcha, the watermelon matcha is fresh. To me, I will pick this drink whenever I want to have matcha but without milk. The banana matcha is creamy, smooth,and well blended, not clumpy at all. I've asked insomnibar to cater for my events several times and it's always been a hit. They finally opened a store and it's amazing. The aesthetics is beautiful and the drinks are so refreshing. Hands down one of the most exciting new boba spots to open in San Jose! I stopped by Insomnibar to check it out since it is still soft opening. I'm actually pretty obsessed with this place lol. Firstly, the space is absolutely stunning: modern, minimal, and vibey without feeling like a prestigious. I had strawberry matcha which is light and refreshing with the right amount of sweetness. Unexpected Gem. Stumbled upon this café and was pleasantly surprised. The interior is beautifully done -- cozy leather seats, a great vibe, and even outlets if you need to get some work done. I tried the seasonal banana cream coffee, and it was spot on -- not too sweet, just right. Drinks overall were solid, and the staff was super friendly. Definitely coming back to try more from the menu. read more

I found this place on Doordash & it's now one of my new go-to milk tea spots. I'm hooked on their Jasmine milk tea. Only thing is I wish they had an option for no ice. Also wish they had more cup size options for their "mini me-for the kiddos" series because I really enjoy the peachlight brew! read more

I randomly ordered drinks from Insomnibar through Doordash one day and this is now my go-to place for coffee and matcha. The drinks are delicious and their matcha is my new favorite matcha. I've had it with and without strawberry foam and both were wonderful. My brother loves their Phin drip latte with the strawberry foam. Their housemade grass jelly is also super yummy. I haven't visited the physical storefront yet, but will absolutely plan to soon. Insomnibar is the best! read more

I don't usually gush over boba shops, but this one truly stands out. The quality of the drinks here is exceptional. You can taste the difference. I came to grab some drinks with friends. The drinks were overall good, although a bit pricey for the amount/size (lots of ice). Service was fast, and staff were accommodating. There was a moment that negatively stood out to me when we were waiting, however. We saw one of the older female staff with glasses, she seemed like the supervisor/ lead in the front, loudly scolding another younger staff. The younger staff seemed new, maybe she was being trained as she wasn't wearing the same uniform as the other workers. It felt a little tense/ stressful and the younger staff looked uncomfortable from the scolding. Just something we noticed, and felt bad for the younger worker. Maybe they can work on not loudly scolding staff members in front of so many customers. Staying calm works great and won't create a tense environment for everyone. read more

Nice cafe with a focus on boba, matcha, Vietnamese coffee, and fruit infusions. To an old man like me, the drinks strike me as "Instagrammable". Comfy, luxe plus black upholstery vibe. It's a nice place to chat with friends. There's a little bit of outside seating. The staff are friendly and nice. I had the banana coffee because I figured you wouldn't put something so weird on a menu unless it was really good. It was! If you like banana milkshakes and Vietnamese coffee, you will like this. Although it does not fit the theme at all, the tater tots are absolutely amazing and you must try them. Lychee lemonade also refreshing, I think I liked it better than the coffee. Crisp, fruity, and not too sweet. Nice place, worth checking out if you are in the area. read more

Insomnibar is amazing! Love the ambiance, food, and drinks! We tried a couple on our first visit and my personal favorite is the Berry Matcha. I was pleasantly surprised with how much I liked their coffee+banana too since I'm not a huge coffee drinker. Food was delicious... my 9 year old LOVED the cheese tots! Love this place. These drinks are amazing! The Thai-Ra-Misu is sooo good--creamy, not too sweet, and has the perfect Thai tea flavor. The Banana Coffee is on the sweeter side but I know they ask if want it to be adjusted so that's awesome. The Afterlight Limeade is super refreshing, and the lychee jelly adds the perfect touch of sweetness to balance the tang. We loved it so much we came back for a second day! read more

The staff was so sweet and asked us if we had any questions about the drinks. They let us try the drinks first to make sure we were satisfied and if there were any adjustments we wanted to the drinks first. The banana matcha was the perfect sweetness, i recommend less sweetness for that bitterness. The potted coffee is very strong and has the cream on top to give it that sweetness. I recommend that if you like strong coffee. read more

I wanted to try a place I've never been to and this was definitely the right choice. This place had the sweetest ladies! They were super friendly and helpful, I asked what drink they'd recommend and she told me to try the Strawberry Cloud Matcha, so I did. It was definitely a 10/10, the foam on top was a little salty which I really enjoyed. The strawberry flavor came through really and it was super yummy. Even moreso, they gave me a free drink to try! If you're thinking about hiring Insomnibar for your next event, I would totally recommend it. I had the pleasure of having them cater my wedding and it was one of the highlights of the evening. So many people complimented my husband and me on their drinks, presentation, and efficiency. They're not the typical caterer who just makes a bunch of drinks and leaves them out on the table to grab. They are EXTRA like me... in a good way and I love them even more for that. They make their drinks as you order them right in front of you, so every cup is fresh and you enjoy it the way it is meant to be. They also have separate lines for each drink so wait time was limited, all my guests were able to easily get their drinks. I'm impressed with how they're able to produce a large number of drinks without compromising the quality and taste throughout the whole night. One of my friends (who is a boba enthusiast) told me how surprised and ecstatic he was seeing the boba bar at our wedding. He kept coming back to the Insomnibar booth until he was able to enjoy all four drinks. At one point, another guest pointed out that he had all drinks circling him during dinner because he couldn't decide which one he likes more, and he finished all of them. Lastly, the cutest scene from my wedding was arguably when we did table walkthrough "chao ban" where usually each table would stack up shots of alcohol for the wedding party as we greet them. However, one table that had a family/teens actually all had Insomnibar drinks in their hands and just wanted us to cheer with their boba drinks, it was so cute and unique IMO. When Insomnibar first agreed to take on our wedding, they let us do a private boba tasting to tailor the drinks to our taste and decide on our personalized menu. I mean who else even does that!? Then for our special day, their professionalism and presentation far exceeded our expectations. First, they made sure that the boba station decor match our color scheme. Second, the uniformed bobaristas made the service very classy. Yes, that right, they provided bobaristas that make the drinks to order instead of pre-making it and just leaving it out. So many of our guests raved about the quality of the drinks and desserts. When the Insomnibar line is more popular than our fully loaded open bar, we knew that we had something special on our hands. The flavor combo of Biscoff and matcha is just perfect. The Saigon Biscoff is also excellent. Although I'm not as into coffee as others, the cinnamon hint from the Biscoff really appeals to me.
