I went to this establishment at 11 AM on a Monday since I had the time. When I walked in I was greeted with a hello how are you and was asked what service I needed. I was the only one in the establishment at that time so I was serviced immediately. I got a regular gel white pedicure and a white French tip gel manicure. The service and kindness of the employees were absolutely amazing. They were very sweet and kind giving me suggestions on what would look good for both my nails and toes telling me about which shape and what length would work best with which style. Also, I did have acrylic nails on before I came in, so my nails are very weak, so I was very happy with what I was able to get in my manicure to look very healthy under the nails and have a decently lengthy. I paid $115 all together, $10-15 more than I would usually pay at a luxury nail salon but I'm coming from North Carolina to Virginia so I expected a price hike. I was hesitant at first because of the mixed reviews but I'm so glad I decided to go. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with a hello and "how may I help you?" I was immediately seated and the nice woman (TIna) started the service. Instead of waiting until after my pedicure, she took the time out to wrap my dip powdered old nails in foil and acetone, so they could soak while she worked on my toes. Everything was so efficient without me feeling rushed. Tina made sure to ask me questions to ensure that I enjoyed my services. There were no customers present. They asked me what I needed done. I told them a nail repair. They looked me up and down and said they were busy. There was no one there. When I mentioned that to them, they told me they had appointments coming and I needed to make an appointment. They had a big sign on the door that said WALK INS WELCOME. Just remembered that I came to this place for a pedi and it was awful. The lady cut my foot during a pedicure because she was using a razor. Mind you I was relaxing with my eyes closed, but I can feel, and still see what's happening. When she cut me, she jumped up and went to the manicure station, grabbed super glue, and poured it in my cut. The whole time she was looking up at me to see if my eyes were still closed, she was hoping that I didnt notice what she had done but I did. I really was going this place would be great since it's just around the corner from my place. The customer service is disgusting. I only wanted a gel pedicure that they repeatedly tried to up sell with a manicure so I had to keep politely declining. My fingernails and eyebrows were repeatedly insulted as they tried to sell me more services. It was an awful feeling. The gels colors are difficult to select because all the bottles are white and they don't have any sample nails painted. Their color selection is slim pickins. I picked out a light shimmery pink that turned out to be a poor choice. Onto the pedi. The massage chairs look nice but the buttons and the motor is worn out. The water was cool despite my request to warm it up as it was filling. My gel polish was removed with an electric file which felt painful and terrible. The sound and feeling reminded me of getting tether drilled at the dentist. My toenails were clipped with a cuticle trimmer!! Yes, that's right so as you could imagine it wouldn't cut through nails easily as it is designed to trim soft cuticles. So she had to use both hands and really clamp down. It was so ridiculous. Next, the nail file was worn out and needed replaced so she had to push really hard, also causing discomfort. None of the tools she used appeared to be sanitized. She just pulled them out of a plastic box with her name on it then dropped them back in after she was done. I'm pretty sure nothing was done to those tools between customers. I prefer a place that unwraps the sanitized tools in front of me so I can have peace of mind. The polish job was very poor. It was a light color and she applied 5,6,7 coats of polish. I lost count. I was questioning her as to whether we needed to make a new selection of color or start over. I was expressing concern bc the actually painting took an hour and she kept getting it on my skin too. You can see the stroke lines on the toes. Just awful. She had to get the manager to come over to apply the top coat to try to make it look smooth but it is not. At the end she doused my toes in oil. So much that it spilled all over the floor too. The whole thing was a disaster. I asked the manager for a discount for the very poor polish and she immediately got flustered, yelled at me then walked away to answer her phone. ****The woman who swiped my credit card would not return my card to me until I signed the receipt and left a tip.**** I had to ask for my credit card back. It was insane. Cold feet, drilled nails, poor quality tools and pedi chair, horrible pain job, and as my tips says no wifi despite the sign on the door and in the salon. I will never return and I may even call them back to let them know how unacceptable their service was. read more

Tina is an expert and it shows as soon as you start talking with her and showing pictures she is like "boom I gotchu I am going to do this and this and that and we are gonna get that". I've visited this nail salon 4 times already since September for refills and pedicures and have always left very happy. They are happy to fulfill any kind of color or design I want from matte to ombre to chrome as well as any shape. Recently I called in for ombre pink nails and almond shaped and I was so pleasantly surprised with how they turned out! The space is nice and open with high ceilings and all the ladies that work there as well as a gentleman are perfectionists at their jobs. Giving this Salon One star bc I have to in order to leave a review. I have lived walking distance from this salon for years and never stepped foot in it bc its NEVER busy. Today my regular nail salon was too busy and i had to get my acrylics taken off before work tomorrow and got a regular manicure. I do not get my cuticles cut ever bc it peals and hurts so when I told her to just push them and She replied with yes you dont need to be cut anyway. Well when we were all done and my nails were rounded squared and uneven and the paint was uneven and crusty underneath she blamed it on me not wanting my cuticles cut. I get my nails done every 2 weeks this is by far the WORST WORST WORST manicure I have ever got done. And wth does the shape paint and cleanliness have to do with you cutting my cuticles. Not only did they lie to us about the prices over the phone multiple times but when we went in they were insistent on not knowing who answered the phone but yet there was only two of them ? Once we started they seemed to be stingy with the nail polish and had to ask for a double base coat because she literally only dipped the brush in once for 10 toes. Also the ladies had attitudes and literally finish the pedicure in 30minutes super rushed the massage was HORRIBLE literally just squeezed my feet and used such little cream her dry glove rubbed up on me a lot. They were so stingy with the massage gel and they did not even put lotion on us after or anything. I've never had such a bad experience somewhere and all in all spent $85 I'm highly disappointed. Shame on me for straying from my regular salon. This is my punishment. I went here last night to get a full set put on. My experiment with natural nails and gel manicure was a failure. This place seemed nice on the outside so I thought I'd give it a try. I wish I had gone elsewhere. In looking at their prices, I saw that they wanted about $10 on average more for their full sets. Not rolling in $, I opted for just an acrylic full set which was listed at $30. From the minute I sat down the nail tech was pestering me for a pedicure. I politely told her no four times explaining I was in a hurry and needed to go to class. It's 5:30 at this point and my class started at 7:30. My choice in nail types didn't suit her because she kept telling me that if I got the more expensive nails, my take off of my old polish would be free but if I didn't she'd have to charge. I've had my nails done for 15 years over various locations and this has never been a charge previously. After stating that I was sticking with acrylic, she proceeded to take he sweet ass time with everything. For something that should have taken an hour at most took almost 2 hours. I left at 7:20 PM after being charged $10 extra for a gel topcoat since I was now so late I was not going to be able to let my French manicure dry properly and after being charged $5 for the take off of the old polish plus $5 for the hand painted French manicure. $50 for an acrylic set is way, way too much. Granted she got my nails straight and the lines straight, but the bloody cuticles from the drill plus the extra hour plus the rudeness and price gouging will not make up for it. They spent plenty of time talking in Vietnamese about me since she'd ask me something in English, I'd say no I don't want to spend that amount, and then the talking/laughing would commence. Please go elsewhere and do not support these business tactics. read more

I definately like this place. Been there twice and both times my experience was great with no complaints. Most importantly, the place is very clean and sanitary, using new tools for each customer. I splurged on my last visit and paid the extra to get the spa like treatment with the sea salt scrub and parrafin wrap. For $40 bucks, this was worth it. Having just been to Elizabeth Arden for the same kind of treatment, I found my spa pedicure at Instyle Nails to be better than E. Arden, which is a good thing because its $30 cheaper! I am a long-time customer of Instyle Nails & Spa and over time I have noticed that there has been a huge turnover in the staff and that some business practices had changed. I was initially attracted to the cleanliness of the place, how beautifully appointed it was and by the fact that the facility had an excellent ventilation system and there was very little chemical odor that I find so irritating about many of these nail salons. I am sorry to see that most of the familiar faces are no longer there and I am on YELP.COM looking for a new salon for that reason. I would say that I have visited Instyle Nails & Spa on an average of 15 plus times every year since it has opened. I tip well and usually get the high end pedicure because they used to do a great job and it was worth it. Their prices have also gone up and the quality has gone down. I went recently (about 2 weeks ago) and was given a "trainee" (a friend of one of the other stylists) to do many of the initial pedicure steps, including cuticle clipping, nail filing and sole scrubbing. I am not a fan of cuticle clipping and I had asked her to NOT do it in the beginning before she started and I had to repeatedly tell her to STOP. My soles were scrubbed like she was scrubbing a floor and my nails were filed like she was sanding the wall. A high end salon should employ people who know how to perform the service and not use the clients as guinea pigs. The fact that I was paying a lot for that kind of treatment really put me off. If I had been anywhere but there I would have gotten up out of the chair and left immediately. However, one of the other stylists could tell that I was unhappy and came over to finish the pedicure for me. Also in the past, I was able to get a very clean, painless and professional looking bikini wax by someone who knew exactly what I wanted and who was also able to communicate in English with me throughout the procedure, This was not the case the past two times I have gone for a wax. I am sorry to see that most of the familiar faces are no longer there and I am on YELP.COM looking for a new salon for that reason. read more

I go to this place fairly regularly. Its clean and nice. There is a good selection of OPI but I wish they also carried Essie or other brands that have cute colors. Most of the girls who work there are super nice. There is one tech who is a little more rough, so if you are sensitive and you have that experience, request a different tech next time. I've visited this salon twice and both times it was a great experience. The first time I went I got a manicure and it was great. The parafin dip was a nice touch. My second visit my mom and I both got "The Bomb" pedicure. About $55 and it was amazing. Great leg massages with 3 or 4 different scrubs as well as leg massage with hot stones. it was totally worth it and the pedicure took about an hour. My friend and I mistook this place for the instyle nails in LEESBURG VA. If I could rate this place any lower than a 1-star I would. The lady who did my nails was super sweet and kind but she was using old instruments that were not sterile & even dropped an instrument on the floor & put it back with all the others. She proceeded to file my nails down with OLD nail files that I saw her use on a customer before me. It is totally unprofessional & unsanitary.
