The place is a hidden gem next to the Highline Park. It is located in the hotel, so the place has inside and outside areas. The staff is amiable and welcome. I ordered a flat white, which was very fragrant and robust, and i added an extra shot of espresso. The barista made an effort to make my coffee tasty and aesthetically pleasing. Bring your doggy here; they are very welcomed

We visited here twice during a recent trip to New York City. The atmosphere is really nice though you may have trouble finding a seat. Service is efficient and the coffee is delicious. This is truly a notch above your average coffee chain.

February 2023: Had I known that I run past Intelligentsia whenever I do a run on the west side, I'd have visited them when they opened in NYC. The coffeeshop is located inside The Highline Hotel (which is not on the Highline). I came here on the windiest NYC day and their seasonal latte warmed my cold heart. It was so good with a kick of cinnamon. The space inside is cramped; the outdoor patio would be opened up during warmer weather. I did like the ambience of the place even if it was tiny. It was cozy yet elegant with comfy couch seating. I saw several tourists take out their laptops and work... on their literal lap. In my opinion, I would only come here to grab coffee as it doesn't seem to be the greatest place to work in, especially with the dim lighting. Service was ok, they were pretty busy and inattentive; the barista did not call out the drinks lying on the counter after he was done making them. I had to hunt down one of the baristas just to figure out which one was mine and another customer's. Overall, it's a good coffeeshop with high quality drinks. I don't recall any pastries or food. Accepts cash, card and Applepay. Bathroom available. Drink up!

This is a very cute place to get coffee, go on a date, or work out of! The hotel has a beautifully decorated floral arch that greets you with bright colors as you walk in. It's spacious inside the hotel where you can have a date or work. I will say there aren't many outlet options. The decoration is very vintage and woodcentric. It had a good amount of foot traffic throughout Saturday morning. The coffee was also delicious and my latte came with beautiful swan art.

Just like any other coffee. Quick service. The place was really cute, good vibes. Not a ton of seating though.

Just moved to the city, this is my favorite coffee spot so far. Great coffee, pastries from Balthazar, and an amazing outdoor space in the back!

Came back 6 years later and it's still the best cold brew I have ever had. $5.79 but it's nyc. Love how smooth it is - highly recommend!

Came here during a trip to NYC. Wanted to sit on the 2nd floor of this coffee bus, so I ordered an iced latte with almond milk - was delish! Not acidic and super smooth. The barista was very kind and patiently explained to me what the different specialty/non-classic drinks were. Loved the experience of climbing to the top of the bus.

It is a cute place inside a yard connected to a popular Highline Hotel. I really loved the vibe here. You can just grab a iced coffee, sit down under the shades of the trees. Talk to friends, or just read a book. It's just such a lovely place and everything is perfect. #perfectwaytospendaweekendafternoon

I am a HUGE Intelligentsia fan! We brew Intelligentsia coffee at home, and anytime we are in Chicago and LA we stop by the stores for delicious lattes and food, and to buy more cups. Every time I visit any city I double check to see if there is an Intelligentsia there. New York has never had one, so I was delighted to find this location this time. Intelligentsia is located inside the High Line Hotel, which is absolutely lovely from what I saw of it. While the coffee shop appears to be more of when a hotel brews Starbucks coffee vs has a Starbucks inside it, however I was assured this was not the case. They do sell some Intelligentsia items, however not the trademark state cups which was a disappointment. I ordered a latte with their Oatly milk. I love this milk so much! If you are looking for a dairy free alternative I highly recommend it! The pastries were good looking, but I opted for a bar. The bar was so good I am ordering them to have at home. Wow! There is an inside and outside area to order and sit both of which are beautiful. The only reason I give this place 4 stars vs 5 is because it is not your typical Intelligentsia experience. If you can get passed that, or have never been in Chicago or LA, you will love it!

Coffee is pretty good but too crowded and they will bump you from your seat if someone comes to buy cocktails. I prefer getting coffee at Stumptown and then enjoying in Ace Hotel lobby, where you can relax in peace.

Not only…read moreare the desserts incredible, but the employees were so friendly and pleasant to deal with as well. The star of the show is, of course, the Merveilleux. It's made with light, airy meringue and whipped cream, then covered in chocolate shavings. It somehow manages to be rich and delicate at the same time. I can see why it's their signature dessert. They offer different flavors and sizes too, from mini versions to larger cakes that are perfect for sharing. One of the coolest parts of visiting is that the kitchen is completely open. You can watch the pastry chefs assembling these beautiful creations right in front of you. It's mesmerizing and makes the whole experience feel special. The bakery has roots in Northern France and Belgium, where the Merveilleux originated, but pastry chef Frédéric Vaucamps reinvented the classic recipe to make it lighter and more modern. Whatever he did worked because these pastries are unforgettable. A quick tip: cash only, so come prepared. Honestly, if you're anywhere nearby, I think you need to run there. Between the amazing desserts, the friendly staff, and the chance to watch everything being made fresh, it's one of the most enjoyable bakery experiences I've had in a long time. I know you won't be sorry!

Aux Merveilleux de Fred is a tiny, beautifully fragrant shop on 8th Ave. I ordered the cold brew black and it was one of the smoothest, most satisfying first cups of the day I've had in a long time. Finding genuinely good black cold brew in this city is harder than it should be, and this one hit the spot so perfectly I made a second solo trip before sundown. The chocolate and almond croissant was delicate, flaky, and exactly what a croissant should be. The shop itself is small, no indoor seating, but two benches out front! The staff was warm and the whole place smells incredible the moment you walk in. I've already earmarked the Cramique for my next visit, because if it's anywhere near as good as everything else, I'm in trouble. Do yourself a favor and stop in!

Note: Order boxes of these delicious buns & cakes for Office events, House parties, Bridal Showers, Birthdays , Home on weekends drinking tea or coffee etc. I ordered (4) buns. Two Cardamoms very moist & tasty with a hint of bergamot. I may be wrong but the taste is very exotic w/ out loads of sugar like most bakeries. I'm diabetic so that's important to me. The other (2) were the Brown sugar & Walnut, again very tasty & the cinnamon bun. All yummy but we all have our preferences. So, if you haven't been yet you need to patronage this spot you won't regret it. Plus, constant patrons coming & waiting on line to place orders. Awesome! says a lot. I'm never impressed with the size of a place, but the influx of foot traffic & cleanliness. Friendly staff!
