Great cup of coffee. I forgot to give a 5 star review 6 months ago when I was here. Housemade syrups and very decently priced. The service was fantastic. Staff there has very good awareness of clients needs. I didn't know where to tap to pay and it showed on my face. I picked up a sleeve for my coffee and was made aware there was one on the cup already. All done in a very pleasant way. Small space with no seating so don't expect to have a place to drink your coffee. You may be able to get away with drinking it standing up since they have a small area but I took mine to go. read more

I was looking for a new coffee shop to try out before my flight in New York, so I stumbled upon Patent Coffee in the area. There isn't much seating (maybe 4 stools), so this may be more of a grab-and-go kind of coffee. Either way, I was happy to see that there were plenty of unique flavor options that were offered. I asked for the Fig/Vanilla latte, but was told they were out of vanilla syrup -- no big deal though! The barista was kind and they were able to make me just a Iced Fig Latte; I liked my drink and thought the flavor went well with the espresso and it wasn't too overbearing or strong. This is a fantastic little coffee shop hidden away down a small flight of stairs. Inside there is not much room to sit and hang out, but there is a fantastic menu of coffee and espresso options and a little case of pastries. They normally run seasonal coffee specials, and right now it is the delicious cereal milk cappuccino. Their espresso is very smooth and subtle, which makes it a perfect accompaniment for a well made simple drink. I did try their toffee oatmeal walnut cookie and need to give it a shout out as well. I came here because the sign outside caught my eye. It said CBD coffee and since I love coffee. I just had to try it especially considering the sign said it has all of these positive health properties. I tried the CBD Cold Brew with Vanilla syrup as suggested by the cashier. It's very small, so it's more of a grab and go spot. There are some occasional fun coffee varieties such as s'mores lattes and some coconut/match concoction. They have three different blends each for a different purpose: espresso, drip and pour over. I've had espresso and drip and both blends are unique and flavorful. They change up the blends every so often so it's great to come back and see what they have. Service: honestly some of the friendliest staff I've met in a coffee shop. They're always eager to ask about your morning or compliment your outfit. Other things: This is NOT the place to sit down and work on your next novel. I first noticed Patent Coffee several months ago and had a really great latte there- something interesting and sesame-flavored, a seasonal or signature drink. I'd have loved another sometime, except the place has been closed every time I've passed since. As another reviewer mentioned, it's basically never open during the posted business hours. The lights are on and the counters are stocked, but no one's home. Weird, unprofessional, and annoying. read more

Patent coffee has one of the best latte's I've ever tried! I'm usually not a big fan of Latte's but I decided to give it a try and I was really amazed at how delicious it was. I actually came across this cafe while walking around the area mindlessly, and i didn't realize the exterior/doors were to a cafe until I looked closely.
