So they finally tell me the shipper is not showing up ON THE DAY OF MY MOVE! They came 3 days later. Now, on the other side, it is now PAST MY DELIVERY DATE and I have received NO correspondence or follow up. Who knows where all my stuff is?! There is supposed to be a 48 hour cancellation period but you cannot reach anyone. They switched me 5 times on the phone but when I asked to be switched to billing they hung up. Called again, had to listen to a woman try to convince me that we had a contract and there was no reason to cancel, asked for billing (who this person was supposed to be) and they hung up. Still waiting for my $123 deposit promised I would get if I cancelled within 48 hours which I did every couple hours within that window and with two email addresses so they couldn't say they didn't receive it. When you tell them you are cancelling, they sound really dejected and they won't do it over the phone but will give you a "cancel@yourmove.com" addy to submit your cancellation that gives you no reply ever. When you call to tell them it's been well over 2 weeks, they put you on hold for so long (over 10 minutes) so you will hang up. I did not see these reviews until my stuff was already loaded up and sitting in a storage facility in Albuquerque. All the reviews are correct. This is a broker. They clearly do not care about customer satisfaction. Our stuff was loaded on a u haul truck in Santa Fe . First warning sign. We were told that the truck would be stored in Albuquerque and another team would bring it to Henderson Nevada The stuff would not be unloaded until it got to our house. A short 7 hour drive. Clearly this was not the case. A week and a half later we had to pay what I call ransom of 950.00 to get an expedited delivery. I thought I may have gotten lucky when everything finally arrived. However , I soon discovered the n-scale trains left to me by my father were destroyed or stolen. All my furniture was scratched and dinged. We bought Heavy duty storage containers for breakables that were heavily abused and things were taken from them. The insurance was useless as we are not getting a response as how to collect. Interstate Movers of America truly deserve 0 stars! They are scam artists and once they have your money everything they have advertised and/or promised you goes out the window. When I first reached out to this company I was amazed by the salesman. He was very professional and willing to help in any way he could.. Well that was until the actual move actually happened and the first of the troubles started.. He gladly took my call on that day and as soon as I mentioned there was an issue he quickly said let me get someone on the call with us.. and he disappeared.. never took a call of mine after that!. First of all their add states that they own their trucks and do not farm out the work. That is a complete lie. They are a broker and farmed out the work to another moving company. I gave them exact measurements of all the furniture and when the other company arrived they said it was double the square footage the salesmen calculated (so after an hour of negotiating with the actual company that showed up, over 25% of the items had to be left behind and we were still charged extra money!) I was told by the salesmen that they would blanket wrap the wall hangings and when they arrived they said no way, we NEVER do that! So those as well had to be left behind. So three lies already * they farmed the work, * they changed the price, * they did blanket wrap or even take the wall hangings. Then the salesman told me that they would put it on a small straight truck and it would go straight there with a 7 to 10 day arrival window. We scheduled with him for day 7 and told him this was important because we had to fly down to meet the truck and he said he might need that 8th day as a buffer incase of bad weather. The items showed up on day 15! The moving company they hired said the truck didn't even leave to head to our state until day 12! And it was on a tractor trailer and being transferred. Lie # 3 - no such thing as a 7 to 10 day window, Lie #4 it was never going on a small truck (important because we had never seen the destination address and did not know if a tractor trailer would fit. Every time I called Interstate Movers they would just transfer me to customer service that said someone will call you and they never did. This company is totally shady. I paid our deposit and called them with some questions about the process that was not clear from our contract. The customer service person I spoke to was not able to answer simple questions and became quite angry the more I asked about their business model. I asked the following: 1) Given they are based in Florida, where are their local offices in our area in California? 2) Who will be performing the move, are they locally based employees or are they hiring contractors? 3) Why is the only accepted form of payment to the driver in cash or postal money order on the day of service? In short, they want us to put all of our belongings into a truck with random drivers that only accept cash payment. Is that something you would do with your stuff? If yes, hire these guys. If I could give 0 stars I would! DO not use them! We had a quote and I was told it was a DO NOT EXCEED a certain amount quote. The movers get to the house, late and proceed to yell and argue with each other outside. They did not finish until after midnight and then gives us a new total, $2,000 over our quote!! We argued but the guy was a jerk and said if he left we would incur more fees and he would not unload the truck. We were in a bind and had to pay. When the furniture arrived these movers were much nicer and more efficient but some of the furniture was damaged: desk, bookshelf and TV. The patio furniture was completely missing from the truck and its now gone. We were given a number to call and and report our claims. THEY NEVER ANSWER THERE PHONES!! When we finally got a hold of someone they sent us a form to fill out and return. We returned the same day and still hadn't heard anything after a month. We call again and have to call multiple times BECAUSE THEY DO NOT ANSWER. They finally say the form was "lost" and to re-submit. We moved in March and its now July and we have not be reimbursed for out lost and broken furniture and still haven't gotten an answer. My recommendation: RUN AWAY!! Fraudulent, unprofessional, rude company that should go bankrupt.NEVER EVER USE THEM FOR ANY REASON As I have seen many reviewers write before, this is not a moving company. They are brokers which means they are a middle man who take reservations (and money) from customers and then connect you with a moving company. What they charge you is a finders fee of sorts, none of the deposit goes to the actual company. My husband and I scheduled a move from Florida to Connecticut in August. Interstate Movers stated they could do the move direct from August 9th with a guaranteed delivery date of 8/13. They wrote that date in the contract we signed. The only time they followed thru with contacting us first was to secure $785.00 which we were told was the direct delivery fee. This would be one of many lies. The day the pick up was scheduled, my husband had to call when we waited almost all day for someone to pick up the furniture from an entire house. The disrespectful idiots there said no one could come and start packing up the house until a window of 4-7 pm. My husband told them that was an idiotic pickup window to pack up a 2,600 square foot house. At 7:00pm, another representative called and said he couldn't be a the house till 7:30 and told us that the moving company did not want us to know this but they did not have the staff to facilitate this move correctly and these people who were coming to us were coming from Tampa (almost 2 hours away) from a job they had been at all day. Every time we called interstate movers to get specifics on the people coming or anything to do with the move, we would never get a person on the line, it would be a bunch of voicemails or mailboxes of people and no matter what extension you dialed, it would go to the same extension. My husband had to call multiple times to get a person on the phone and they never had any information. They always had to call us back which they never did. It was only when were googled the number for safe cube and didn't use the number on the invoices did we learn this was a broker, not safe cube directly. We repeatedly asked these incompetent buffoons if they were safe cube and multiple representatives said yes we are safe cube. A blatant fraudulent mis represented lie. When the promised delivery date came and went, we called interstate multiple times. We were told by one person answering the phones that the entire office was out to lunch at 2pm on a weekday and that someone would call us back before 5pm. No one ever called us back. Ever. We ended up calling safe cube directly who promptly told us they knew nothing about a guaranteed delivery date even though the contract had it in it. They said the broker put that in and never communicated to them that direct delivery by a specific promise date was paid for and they were not responsible for what another company promised. That was BS because the broker represents them and brokers the terms. Both companies were full of crap. NO stars! This is a corrupt company. While appearing so helpful while booking- they were nothing but unresponsive and basically, liars after. After agreeing to a 2 man/3 hour job, the date and time was set. When they didn't arrive, after several phone calls and unanswered messages- we were told "the truck had broken down". we rescheduled. Then, after 3 confirmation calls, they showed up with 3 men and a 5 hour call. When confronted, the men played dumb. I repeatedly called 'NICK" who was the man who booked the job (from out of town- and I assume booked the local movers)- he complained about his rough weekend with his neighbors and his dog and told me that he would call me right back. He didn't. When I called back- the receptionist put me through and he didn't pick up. I called back again -the entire time waiting with the movers who were told one thing even thought the contract said something else- the receptionist now gave me another number to call. This gentleman assured me that he would call the movers and relay the correct information and call me back in 5 minutes. Yep....he never called back. Back to the receptionist- who this time gave me another number to call. This gentleman didn't even know Nick and was rude and refused to listen to anything I was saying. Well, on moving day, movers showed up in plain clothes and unmarked small truck. Instantly they said they needed to charge extra for wrapping glass items (which I disclosed to Brett). I tried contacting Brett but was told by the manager that he was not in & he, Shawn, would take care of this. Shawn was beyond rude & disrespectful! As a manager, you would think to try and make the customer happy. Not this one! Multiple calls were made back & forth to manager from movers. When my husband finally said to cancel the move & we'd hire another company, the company said if we paid in cash they wouldn't charge extra. Wish we had read the reviews before contracting with Interstate Movers of America. They are a broker company, they would say otherwise when signing up the contract, but acknowledge it when you need help with the moving company they find for you. The quoted a competitive price, making us sign them up. The first mover they found for us (Cross Country Movers), demanded twice the money on the day of move, and upon asking for details around 100% price hike, they arrogantly stormed out of the house leaving stuff behind. The second mover they found for us (KC Van Lines) charged significantly more, promising expedited and quality delivery. They picked up stuff on time, but literally forgot about us. Neither Interstate nor KC would provide us information about our truck whereabouts or ETA...when the stuff did arrive..15 days after pick-up, we had broken items, missing furniture pieces, ripped up mattress. This moving company is horrible. I was quoted based on my 2 bedroom townhouse inventory and once the unprofessional movers showed all other hidden cost came out. Information relayed in the quote was not given to the movers. Constant calling to managers, which were unprofessional and delayed the process. Remember, they quote you hourly! Including, the drivers turned a 45 minutes drive into 2 hours to add on cost. A four hour job including travel turned into six hours when everything was already packed for them to load. This broker company is from hell. First of all, they lied. They are brokers, not the actual movers. Second, they picked up my stuff and didn't plan a delivery. When I started calling about my stuff after 10 days, they put me on long holds and dropped my calls. Turns out, they had not even loaded my stuff for delivery. Arthur was rude and told me to stop calling and hung up on me when I asked for the supervisor. Arthur also lied and said that my stuff was enroute when it was not even loaded for delivery. I was finally able to get a hold of the driver who informed me that my stuff would be delivered 16 days after being picked up even though I was given a window of 7 to 10 days. Every piece of furniture that they delivered to my new home was damaged. Literally every single piece. It looks almost like it was done out of anger. Tops of dresses are busted up. Don't use "Interstate Movers of America" if you can help it. We put down a deposit and signed a contract to have some things moved on Sep 27 with the 28th as a backup. I called on the 26th to get a time for the pickup and was told the 28th at noon. So I call at noon on the 28th because the truck isn' there yet, and wouldn't you know it, the person has no clue...but she'll track it down and call me right back. Tick....tick.....tick... Two hours later I call again and am told by somebody different within just about 30 seconds that because our load was so small they were not going to be able to pickup until middle of next week. After I explained that no, the "sewing machine" you're listing is actually an 8 foot quilting machine and this "sleigh" is a horse drawn sleigh...actual size. So that actually got a proposed pickup moved to Monday....some time. probably. After I complained a bit I finally got one other person to offer a discount...but they couldn't tell me until Monday morning just how much of a discount. When I called back an hour or so later to actually get confirmation that the truck was going to be there, I'm told that not only will there NOT be a discount...but they aren't charging me $150 for the sleigh and $150 for the quilting machine because apparently you can't put things on or around them. The decision to cancel became pretty clear after all that...but of course you don't get your deposit back unless you cancel within 48 hours of signing the contract...you know...three weeks ago when the truck was still supposed to be there on the 27th. Less than a week before our scheduled move our rate went up by $600. The day before we were supposed to move some one told us that we should get a call from our mover telling us that he would be on his way anywhere from 8am-10am. We woke up at 6am and had our car ready to go for our 20 hour drive. 10am pasted and we didn't hear from anyone so we kept calling till we got an answer. At 2PM our mover finally answered and said he would have to reschedule to the next afternoon. Next afternoon came and went about 1PM the mover called and said there was something wrong with his truck and he have to come the next morning. We were pissed and knew we would run into more issues with them so we told him to just forget it. Had 48 hours to cancel our move, we cancelled less than 24 hours after and STILL no refund. We made a deal with James from Interstate Movers of America on January 17th for our long distance move. The contract explained we had 48 hrs to cancel and receive our refund of the deposit which was $444.52. After deciding to cancel, we were shuffled around from person to person for 4 weeks to resolve our issue. We talked to James, Kem, Brenda, Tony, and Ron. Ron, who is supposedly a supervisor, explained that we would get a refund in 5-7 business days, the week of January 22nd. Refund never came. Called Ron again, and did not receive any information until the week of February 5th--he said he was on vacation. Ron then said in 3-5 days we would receive our refund. February 13th, we received a refund of $222. Half of our original deposit. We called again explaining the situation and not understanding why we received half. Ron then explained that he was "doing us a favor by giving us half" and when he got time he would process the rest. He also said that the only reason we were getting a refund was because we are a military family. When we asked for a date on which the refund would be fully completed he said "when I get to it, I can't circle a date on the calendar." Ron is very rude and does not value the customer what so ever. He could not answer any of my questions and did not value my concerns. Which leads to this complaint. We want to make sure no one else goes through this disaster and gets fooled by this company. The people you speak with are clueless and always say "I will have to get my supervisor" not being able to resolve issues on their own. This also leads to drawn out situations. On June 20, 2018 I signed up for a move with this company. My daughter signed up for a move with them within days of my sign up. She found them on the net and thought they would be great to help us both on our move. I had to put up a deposit of $573.00. I later talked to my daughter and discussed having to put up such a large deposit and hers was larger than mine The next day, June 21, 2018 we called at separate times and spoke to Raymond Williams, the guy helping us, and requested a cancellation I requested a confirmation from Raymond on my refund and my cancellation was verbal as was my daughters. Now my daughter went above Raymond head and spoke to his supervisor because he was being very shady. Me? I was emailed 2 different emails which the first one did not state my cancellation nor my refund. I called him and told him to put exactly what I wanted. In an indirect way he stated my deposit would be put on hold for the next 3 years for a further move and if anything were to happen to my move I would be refunded 48hrs out. After that I could not reach him, other people would hang up on me. And if I were to request a new move date I could not get through. I am not giving up on getting my refund back. I have reported them to the Florida BBB, Federal Trade Commission, certified all copies to this company and cancelling in writing that there would be no move with them and wanting my money back in 48hrs, and the Department of Transportation. Next step is the Attorney General Office. I live in Arizona so I can not afford legal assistant for out of state area. My daughter got her refund back which was good for her but our situations were exactly the same and what really pissed me off the most is that we both bank with Navy Federal Credit Union and though they refunded her money on a verbal cancellation they did not for me and stated they did not get all my fax information though I have documentation that in fact they did get them all but it did not matter.. What mattered was they had no concrete cancellation on paper and made their decision and closed the case and would not help me any further. My daughter works for the FBI so my next complaint will be with them and the General Attorney's Office. This money was given in good faith and came from my disability check. This companies people act all nice to ya but what they are leading up to is cutting you out of your deposit or screwing up your move and never taking responsibility. Trying to get help on this is almost impossible. BBB is about as close to help as one can get though I have not heard back from them. This company is corrupt, deceitful, and does not care whether they hurt you. They do not care, they will hang up on you, they all talk rude to you and very nasty. I failed to do my do diligence, if I had I would have NEVER chosen this company. As was mentinoned, they are liars, professional ones at that! The person we spoke to told us that they were NOT brokers and they would handling our move from beginning to end. In fact, several other persons contacted us and said the SAME thing! They are brokers, which means they contract to movers who you have NO idea or communication with AT ALL. The salesman you first speak and hound you, you NEVER hear from again, nor can you reach them once you agree to have them move you things. In fact you can not reach anyone on the phone, nor do they return your calls! Very very unprofessional! When you finally get a message, it is from someone totally new and your concerns are NOT even acknowledged. Yes, do a bait and switch even before your items are picked up because I was given different information from the salesman! I had all of these problems and more before my move. My move was never done but they want to keep my deposit! Very horrible company. They are scam artists, every last one of them, why are they not SHUT down? Well, they are like companies, that claim that they will sell your Timeshare for an upfront fee of course! I hired these people, or who I thought I hired, to move my household goods from NJ to CA. They picked them up on August 23rd and have not delivered yet. They are affiliated somehow with Interstate Movers of America and Moving USA Today. Looks like Moving USA Today is a call center than brokers with Interstate Movers of America (who took my deposit) and they hired KG Van Lines to move my goods. I paid when they showed up with a cashiers check drawn off my bank,. They showed up in a budget rental truck which was not big enough and then tried to charge me an extra $2358 for filling up the truck. We had too many items and had to leave some behind because they wouldn't fit. Moving USA today hooked me because they took my Allied Van Lines estimate of 269 item inventory and said they could do it for less. I was strapped for money so I went for it, reluctantly. Delivery was supposed to be sometime in early September. I started calling around 9/11 to inquire and they said our stuff was on its way. Then I called around the 18th and they said that we wanted our stuff in storage. I said no and they said they would have a truck pick it up in 2 days and it would be en route to California. The following week, no calls for delivery, so I inquired again. They said it would be delivered in 4 business days. 4 business days later I called and now they won't say where our stuff is but we needed to pay them because our cashiers check was returned. I went to Chase and they gave me a copy of the cashier's check which had been endorsed by KG Van Lines. I sent it to the call center (Moving USA Today) 855-510-9393 and talked to Lesley. She sent me a picture of the refer to maker cashier's check and the letter they got from the bank. I went to chase and they said that it appeared that the check would only be refer to maker if KG Van Lines was not the company on the account. They said it was on their banks end. They said if they send back that legal copy of the check that they could redeposit and reissue funds to KG Van Lines. The call center wanted to fax me a copy of the check and Chase would not take it. They need that legal copy that was in the picture they sent me. Now its been two weeks and I even gave them my fedex number to use to send it back. No check and now they won't call me back about where our belongings are or if they sent back the check. DO NOT BOOK WITH COMPANY. The company is fraud and full of BS. They are NOT REAL MOVING COMPANY. They take your money upfront and have different company do the actual move. The company is GK moving where the crew never showed up for two days. After repeated calls to Fred, he never returned my calls. Bunch of crooks. The driver of the truck never called for 2 days prior to the move. They suppose to be here on Aug 24 or Aug 25, but did not show up. Late evening, I get a call that they had trouble with the truck, very popular excuse they use all the time. Then the driver says will show up on Sunday Aug 26 at 9am and never show up. They show up late at 6pm evening with Budget truck and papers with no real company logo. They are not legitimate company. Take your money and have a real moving company do the move. I suggest someone who comes at your house and give you real estimate and exact date for the move. Someone who has business card and legitimate paperwork with real company name/logo and address. read more

WARNING!!!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They (Alex) made an estimate for me that was competitive with another legit company. I was ready to sign the paperwork, and the next day one of their sales people called me up, and without saying a word, offered me $300 discount. So I took it. Then, 1 day before the move a "QA" person (AnnMarie) called me to go over the move. I gave them the EXACT inventory I gave the original guy (who was no longer available to talk). She doubled the price of the move to $2500 and removed the $300 discount. I knew this was becoming a scam. I cancelled the move with them. I got non-stop phone calls from people at the company that night. They came back to me (Jeff) and returned to the original estimate. Then, moving day. The truck arrives and the foreman states he is with a different company and his rates based on the truck he brought was now $2700. Here we go again. They start loading the truck - because what am I going to do now? They get the truck loaded and there are still 50% of my boxes in the house. So, they underestimated the amount of space needed even with an accurate inventory. I called the Brenda at interstate and she was going to send me another truck - I stopped her right there. No way. Another true with another driver with another price. This was getting out of hand. Continued calls (30 in all) to the company went into phone mail or indefinite hold music. They were nowhere to be found. When it came time for payment - I gave them my American Express card - the foreman wouldn't accept it. The moving company said they would. I called Xavier at Interstate and he "ran around the company" trying to help me. After he got back on the phone, he wanted me to go to the post office and give them my AMEX and get three $1000 money orders. NO WAY. Now the foreman went from Mr. Nice Guy to backing up the moving company. It was a completely coordinated scam. The foreman refused to take my things without payment and then demanded $400 for unloading the truck. I said "AMEX?" and he flipped out. They placed my things nicely on the driveway and left. I called into uhaul and got a 26' truck, pulled up to the house and loaded it with my things. I got help from the mailman to get a couch in the truck - the rest i did myself. Moral of the story - the ENTIRE moving industry is a SCAM filled with nothing but MIDDLEMEN who CANNOT quote you an exact price. THE PEOPLE EMPLOYED AT INTERSTATE MOVERS ARE NOTHING MORE THAN REJECTED TIMESHARE SALESMAN. Bait and switch, different people playing good-cop/bad-cop... etc. They have a script and the "different moving company" is in on it as well. I got the uhaul for $300 and spent $500 on two guys to help me move things into the new place that night. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!!!!!!! ANY OF THE POSITIVE REVIEWS ARE WRITTEN BY THEIR EMPLOYEES. Horrible, Horrible, Horrible and Should Not be in Business!!! I hired them to move my daughter. We provided accurate information for a quote to move. I was promised 6 professional Movers and a truck large enough to haul all her belongings at once. We received, a box truck not large enough to haul everything and 3 Movers. Only 1 of the Movers appeared to have experience. The other two were very young and inexperienced. I was quoted a price of $4200.00 to move the items. They hadn't loaded all the quoted belongings on the truck and told us we had exceeded our qubic feet. They wanted an addition $1200.00 to fill the truck and there were still items that were on the quoted list, left behind. They offered to return the next day and move the other things but, they wanted additional money. I was already paying $5400.00 and half of the quoted items were not on the truck. We declined their offer. We rented a large U-Haul and hired 2 Movers through U-Haul. Please Do Not Hire This Company! Once they arrived at the new residence, they dropped the New washing machine down the basement steps, damaged the stairway walls, broke glassware and broke a shelf. This Is Not Over!!!
