My Reuben was loaded - lots of Thousand Island dressing, Swiss cheese, corned beef and sauerkraut. The onion rings are breaded, not battered, but really crispy and good. The boyfriend loved his pork sandwich on a pretzel bun. They had some unique things on the menu I'd like to try someday like Wisconsin Brat Poutine and New England Clam Chowder Poutine. Came in off the boat. Had dinner already at Schooners pub which was very good by the way. Just wanted to check this place out on the way back. Nice night. Wanted to sit outside. Two large tables open and no one else coming in. They would not seat us because we were not eating. I kind of understand but we were past anyone coming in for dinner. No room at the bar so went back to the boat. Looking at other reviews service isn't the best. There are other options in Port Washington so we will try them out. read more

Poutine (several varieties) - CHECK Beer - CHECK Tons of microbrews available - CHECK This is really a hidden gem. It is currently located north in the American Legion Hall and immediately west of Lake Michigan but will be moving to a new building just south of the current location soon-ish (they have not yet begun construction of the building). The staff is super knowledgeable about all things beer and cider related. They had some seasonal beverages (beer and spirits) available that sounded amazing; however, I was on lunch from work and unable to try them. I ordered a Margherita Wrap with sweet potato tater tots. You read that correctly: SWEET POTATO TATER TOTS!!! And they are every bit as delicious as you would imagine. The wrap was decent size and I only ate half of it. My friend got a black and blue burger and said it was excellent. I've previously had the poutine and it is was also quite fabulous. I need to order it again soon to refresh my memory of that amazing Canadian messy goodness :) Definitely recommend for lunch if you are in the area as it is not busy and we got our food very quickly. This was not good. I had mahi mahi tacos. They were so overcooked and had zero flavor, They were so bad. The server told me everyone loves them so I ordered them. My husband had the peanut butter burger, not too bad. French onion soup was decent. Our server was so busy with a big table that we barely saw her. Never got refills. Good beer menu. The place is really nice looking. They have a good opportunity here to have a great restaurant but that food needs to be improved. We will try somewhere else next time we are in town. read more

Date of visit: 6/11/22 We stopped here after the Harborview 8K and appreciated that the kitchen was open a bit later because one tends to be hungry after running 5 miles! Staff was friendly and the food didn't take too long to come out. We went with the giant pretzel, cheese curds, and some in the party had the Suffering Succotash Poutine. Full disclosure: There was way too much going on with the poutine to try that, so I can't tell you if it was good or not, though the entire dish was demolished by others in the party so do with that info what you will! The pretzel was quite good, and I really liked the cheese sauce that came with it. Ditto for the cheese curds. Only misses here were that the items were a bit expensive for what you got and when the food was dropped off to us, we were told, "Silverware and napkins are over there (dismissive wave)!" Would have been nice for those to have been brought over to us considering we just spent $50 in food, plus beer. read more

Service was TERRIBLE. Food was mediocre at best, if we're being generous. Fish fry was over cooked, coleslaw had no sauce and was just cabbage in a cup. The Caprese wrap was lettuce and balsamic with a slice of cheese in it. Tomato, last I checked, is a pretty big part of anything Caprese. The BLT is truly stuffed with bacon, but was so fatty it wasn't very pleasant to eat. But overwhelmingly the service was just terrible. Our waiter truly ruined the entire experience for us. Not taking order, delivering drinks to wrong table, never came back to check for refills or if food was okay, waited just as long for the bill as we did to put in a drink order. (20 mins) This whole meal and review can be broken down to 2 words: Do Better. And do better for yourself and avoid wasting your money at this place. This was a nice find after some Costco shopping in Grafton. It's part of a Legion Hall and a nice open space with no frills. I think normally you have to go order at the bar and take it back to your seat but it was quiet and we got full service from a waiter. Other than giving us someone else's order but quickly remedying it, the service was good and friendly. The beer was quite good. They have a variety of poutines and we got a specialty one with three different kinds of pork, and it was great. Chicken satay was solid, though unspectacular. Fun place that would be a nice watering hole to frequent if we lived closer. Worth a definite check-out. read more

Cool little hangout, I really loved that the beer flights came in an airplane. Very clever! The beers we tasted were a little rough and had some off-flavors. We ordered classic poutine and chicken tacos. They were okay. The gravy on the poutine was canned. I was excited to see house brewed sodas, but again the ginger beer had some off flavors. Meh. Brews are good. Typical to poor menu that tries hard to be unique but fails on flavor. Venue is a mix of hall and open, garage door style brew pub by layout is weird and you can't really tell where the main entrance is. There should be signs around the place welcoming customers, guiding them to the front entrance. The lack of signs or concise staff shows the lack of this establishment's own interest in thinking about its own customers. Our staff were slow, forgot to order items then at close out, hit the "25%" button for us in demonstrating how to pay at table. Hey owners, this could be a destination location but instead it's a difficult to figure out and "why bother?" location. Start with revamping the menu for taste over presentation. Came to Port Washington to check out the new Beer Garden but it was reserved for a private party. Found this place at the bottom of the hill and decided to check it out. There is a restaurant: table area inside and a separate bar area. You order your drinks and food at the bar. There are about 10 picnic style tables outside, along with corn hole and they are dog-friendly​ with water bowls placed around. There is a beautiful view of Lake Michigan There is a decent number of craft beers on tap and they also have craft sodas. I had a Witbier​ and my husband had an orange cream soda. The food appeared to be your basic bar food, burgers, sandwiches, and such. We did not eat but the burgers did look and smell delicious. Nice place to spend an afternoon read more

The owner Adam replied with sincere apologies. Unfortunately Inventors Brewpub has not stepped up their game or paid attention to the DETAILS! The facility is beautiful, and I commend the owners on optimizing the Port Washington waterfront location to provide a meeting place for locals and visitors. At first glance, the place is cool and clean (it should be, it's brand new). Take a closer look. Sit at the bar and notice a disorganized cooler for all to view. Cords and staffs shirts and other personal items that don't belong in customers view on the backbar. If you've assembled this collection of inappropriate items in several months of opening, imagine the mess in a year. Take pride in your new venture. Ditch the huge "cleaning cart" visible from any bar seat in the staffs service area. Put up a small wall to store it out of sight. Remind your staff that we can all see their antics and sometimes hear their conversations in the service area. Young servers need proper training. Mature servers do as well. We noticed drinks sit at the bar service area for 10 minutes while the server was busy chatting with other waitstaff in clear view of customers. Our food for a family of six was mediocre at best. Fish Fries and chicken sandwich and chicken tenders all fried in that long expired oil. Our fish was overcooked and rubbery. This is a definite kitchen management issue. Check the oil, and change it often. We've dined at IB four times and have enjoyed the Cheese soup and Econ Burger. House chopped salad was a soggy mess. Korean ribs came out of the kitchen cold! Who's captaining the ship? Upon leaving, noticed the silverware wrappers and food items littering the dining room floor. No bussers to clear dishes from tables and keep the entire restaurant tidy. Hire and train the extra staff. Opening a new brew and food service venue is difficult. Inventors Brewpub has a fantastic location. The staff needs management expertise and training, including the kitchen staff. Consistency in food and service does not happen without continual training. Didn't notice a manager or head server on the floor during our visits. Suggest that the manager is based at the host desk and working with all staff to achieve a well run operation. We want inventors Brewpub to succeed! We enjoy the location and atmosphere and will bring friends and family there and spend money. Don't give us reason to go elsewhere because the food is inconsistent and the service needs training. read more

We were having a nice family day and decided to try Inventors for dinner. We walked in and were told it was a 25 minute wait. (I did hear a gentleman mention something about how long they had been waiting and he didn't seem happy, I should have listened.) We went to the bar and had a round of drinks while we waited for our table. After 45 minutes my husband went to ask the hostess how much longer? She told us we were 2nd on the list and that it was taking longer because people were not vacating the tables. I could understand this IF the restaurant was at full/nearly full capacity but there were many vacant tables. After 65 minutes I asked again and she said we were 1st on the list but couldn't seat us because of the same excuse. Being foolish, we waited 15 more minutes, then left. UPSIDE: We went to Tello's in Port. We arrived to a full, busy restaurant and were seated in 10 minutes and had a delicious meal with really good cocktails! I will definitely go back. read more

One of the worst services I've had in a long time. Entrees came out over 20 minutes apart from each other (i am not exaggerating) So some people finish and the rest still waiting. The bad.. -1 star for the confusing way of ordering food, picking up food, and bussing your own table. Need to get a way to order food to the main hall so you dont have to fight the crowd standing around the bar. The good.. the food is great! The western burger was huge and flavorful. The ozaukee wheat was an interesting take on a hefeweizen. Would definately try both again. Will be a great place to drink at during the summer, lots of outside seating. read more

Cool place with really good beer selection. Good variety of beer styles. They had the Duchess which is always a plus for me. Food menu is not huge, but sufficient. Was a bit pricey. I had the chicken satay that was pretty tasty but not worth the $11. One piece was too overcooked to eat. We shared the buffalo chicken brewtons. Those were really good. Hubby and son both had burgers and fries they said were pretty good. They are working toward brewing their own stuff. I look forward to stopping in again to try them out. read more

I stopped at Inventors Brewpub today for the first time. I visit craft breweries as a hobby. The Port Washington area is both attractive and historic. This establishment has a long history that you can read on their website. They share space with the American Legion. The area around the establishment is right on the lake and is across the street from a park and outdoor amphitheater. The establishment itself itself is small but clean and decorated with thought. I liked the bar and the craftsmanship that went into layering the surface with pennies. I sat at the bar and and was greeted and served quickly and courteously. I was able to connect to Wi-Fi well and the password is displayed very legibility on the wall. I was provided a free brewery sticker for my collection upon request. For food, I ordered a speciality poutine - Marinara Poutine with meatballs, cheese and fries. For beer, I got a flight that excluded IPA's but included a wheat, weizenbock, golden ale and altbier. I liked my selections, especially the weizenbock and the flight was presented in 4 in a frame of a biplane. Very original and fun. My food was served in a reasonable time and was tasty. I liked the speciality poutine which included meatballs, cheese curds and sauce; the fries in the dish were also good and not overly seasoned. Overall, good service in a unique location close to the lake. I would recommend a visit. read more
