If you own an HP printer, you know they run a racket subscription service. 003 / 100 - 2017 YELP 100 CHALLENGE. IQ Graphics & Printing is awesome! I needed some last minute business cards printed for a convention, so I decided to Yelp around the area and see if I could find anything worthwhile. I came across IQ Graphics & Printing, saw the samples, and instantly fell in love. I called in for a rough estimate of two (2) batches of 250 business cards, matte, rounded corners, and double-sided with color. I was told that it was $55/batch, which is reasonable, and asked where I should send my graphics to. Gerardo was incredibly helpful on the phone and via e-mail. Fantastic! I put in the order last Thursday (1/19) and told them I'd need them before the following week. Imagine my surprise when they e-mailed on Monday telling me that it was all ready to be picked up! Sweet! Unfortunately it was incredibly rainy and stormy, so I told them I would be picking up the business cards on Tuesday. Finding IQ Graphics & Printing was incredibly easy and while there was ample parking when I visited, I could definitely see it becoming really, really busy later in the day. Gerardo (I think it was Gerardo) greeted me and had the business cards ready to go as soon as I stepped in. He let me look over the cards and they came out PERFECT - exactly like I had wanted them to. I was scared that the colors would be off, but they were amazing and exactly like I saw them on my monitor. If I could have cried, I would have at that exact moment lmao. Sadly the business cards did not have rounded corners like we had asked, but I didn't see the point in causing a fuss because: 1) I wasn't charged for it, 2) time crunch. Aside from that one mistake, IQ Graphics & Printing did a wonderful job. Their colors are beautiful, the work and effort they put into it is fantastic, and everyone I talked to is incredibly friendly and polite. I was in search for a custom neon sign for a dear friend of mine and was beyond frustrated with the outrageous quotes I was receiving (both pricing and timeframe for creating the sign). IQ has done some amazing postcard designs, banners and other work for my job, so I figured I'd see if they could help me out. Amir was so amazing with helping me design the sign and making sure that the price was reasonable. The result was sensational. My friend was insanely happy, and myself (along with my bank account) was as well. I came in needing to print 50 flyers as soon as I could and Hassan was extraordinarily helpful in working with me to make sure the size and paper was exactly as I pictured. He also taught me some quick Photoshop tips so that my flyers came out just as I wanted! Hassan & the employees at IQ Graphics & Printing were quick, professional and delivered a far superior product to what you could get at any large scale office supply store. They also do graphic design & their work looks really great! My flyers turned out BEAUTIFULLY, and Hassan even threw in 3 11x17 posters for free! Unfortunately, I was really disappointed with the customer service displayed by IQ Graphics & Printing. As most online readers of reviews know, people usually only feel compelled to write a review if they had a really bad experience or really great experience. In this review, I'll do my best to stick to the facts of the situation and not allow any of my own opinions enter the conversation that much. Then you can be the judge if you want to go to them for your service. 1) I'm currently part of a student organization at San Diego State University. I was referred to IQ Graphics & Printing by a good friend of mine that said that they had a wonderful experience working with the crew there. This was personally, my first time working with a graphics and printing company. 2) I had about 300 11 by 17 posters to print and 270 rave cards to print when I walked into IQ Graphics & Printing. The 300 11 by 17 posters had 10 different designs (30 each) and weren't all uniform. 3) I went to IQ Graphics & Printing and I let them know what my order was and what I needed it. They let me know that they could have a pretty fast turnaround and I could pick them up later that day or in the morning. 4) During my interaction with the owner (my opinion is coming), I got bit of a energy that wasn't welcoming. When trying to explain my order and what I had, I was often interrupted before I could finish explaining what I needed from them and what types of files I had on my USB drive. 5) The owner proceeded to print out a sample of one of the 11 by 17 poster designs and gave it to me for a review. That particular design came out great and I was satisfied with how it looked. Throughout this customer and owner process, I made several mistakes that I admit to by being a first time customer. The first of my mistakes was not having the owner print out a sample of all the 10 different 11 by 17 designs so I could approve each. 6) When the order was ready, I came back to the location to the pick them up. To my disappointment, several of the designs came out extremely pixelated/blurry and words/copy was cut off on the edges. Additionally the 270 rave cards came out blurry as well. 7) When I addressed the owner about the situation, I expressed to him that on my end I knew that there could have been adjustments made in illustrator or photoshop to prevent these issues, but I was unhappy with the final product and wanted to see if they could redo it for me. To my fustration, the owner ignored my admission of a mistake and proceeded on something I would personally describe as a rant saying that it wasn't his fault, he can't touch the files, and he can only work with what I gave him, etc, etc. 8) In my reply, I let him know that not once did I say it was his fault, but I was disappointed I wasn't notified by this company that my images would come out extremely blurry and pixelated. I let him know that since you have been doing this for over 10 years, I would imagine you would know what quality looks like and that I would imagine you would have a standard set for your company and your clients. The owner proceeded to say we can't touch the files and we can only work with what you gave us. I replied and said I understood, but as soon as you saw a problem with the print, you should have called me to let me know. 9) I told him that I suggest that he would redo the prints free of charge. However, he refused and said there would have to be a charge because it wasn't his fault. At that moment, I let him know that I was strapped on budget as a student organization and we were limited. Frustrated and disappointment at the moment, I let him know I would only pay X amount. He proceeded to laugh for about 30 seconds as I sat there and said that this is something he couldn't accommodate. He gave his new price and I said fair enough. He said is this okay with you and that expressed he wanted me to be happy after I left. I told him I was disappointed by how he handled the situation and nothing he could say or do could make me satisfied with this order. If you are interacting with the owner of IQ Graphics & Printing and you don't have any personal/professional experience with graphics and printing I would be very hesitant on whether you use this company. When I walked out of the building, I didn't feel heard, supported or accommodated at all. Possibly, my customer service expectations may be a bit higher than I realized, but I would say you should take the information I presented and you be the judge for yourself. UPDATE: I was contacted by the owner with an initial message apologizing for my experience. I replied to him letting him know the situation and why I upset. I've never got a response from him and the issue never was resolved. read more
