So I am a big fan of falafel wrap, came here when I was really hungry, on a date with my husband. He had the chicken Shawarma rice and salad plate. We ordered baba ghanoush and foul beans. It was all really excellent the falafel was crispy but soft on the inside. Not oily at all. Delish!!! My husband enjoyed his chicken dish, no complaints from him. The dips were excellent but we ordered a bit much cause we were both so hungry. They have Turkish delights and baklava, you can't go wrong with any of the sweet treats, I'm on a diet so I didn't try any of the sweets. The Falafel Truth Iraklis is the newest venture by the same owners who brought us Santa Clara's Achilles & its Santa Cruz sister restaurant Achilles by the Sea. Looking to build off their previous successes (Achilles Santa Clara made the '19 Yelp Top-100 Restaurants in the US) by doing what they do best, and that's fast-casual Middle Eastern cuisine. However, unlike Achilles' Chipotle-style ordering system, Iraklis has a more straightforward menu featuring preset wraps, plates, and tacos. We were fortunate enough to attend their soft opening today, and this is what we found. The Good: *Halal meats *Plenty of vegan and vegetarian options *Menu has lots of interesting options, in that everyone should be able to find something they like. The manakeesh and falafel tacos definitely piqued my curiosity. *We've gotten to know the owners, Diaa and Elias, over the years, and they couldn't be nicer guys. Definitely the kind of business owners you wish well and deserve all their success because they work their asses off. *Great location with lots of surrounding businesses and an ample parking lot. *Their Garlic Spread is the same one as they use at Achilles, and that shit could go on an old shoe and still be tasty af. *Their "Damascus-style" wraps are flavor bombs as their ensconced in their garlic spread, pickels, and soft lavash bread that's seared to a crispy goodness. My son said the chicken wrap was his death row last meal at this moment. ;) *I ordered the lamb plate, and it was bomb af; the lamb was tender and had great flavor, but the star of the show was the rice beneath it as it had a nice toothsome texture, great savory flavor, and just the right amount of grease. It totally reminds me of something you'd get from a street cart--which is definitely a good thing! *Turkish delights for sale. If you've never tried these, then be warned: you'll quickly realize why Edmund snitched out his family to the White Queen for these bad boiz. The Meh: *A lot of the menu items weren't available, but that's to be expected with a soft opening. *No outdoor seating The Ugly: *Interior was really small and only sits about six tables. We tried to dine-in, but the place was packed, so we unfortunately had to grab our food to go and bounce. :( TLDR: Fantastic new spot from the owners of Achilles that has a terrific and delicious menu. Loved loved loved this place. I came in last Sunday afternoon to check out this new gem in Santa Clara that just opened last Tuesday. It sits right at the corner towards Sketchers and Burma Bistro. Same owner as Achilies, another restaurant nearby that I frequent a lot. The staff's great -- nicest people ever. Grace was super welcoming and friendly. We talked about our love for baba ghanoush and garlic spread. The owner, Elias walked me through all their signature dishes and we had a great conversation on the story of how the restaurant came to be. Vibe's great. Love how there's some seating and air conditioning throughout -- something that I've always wished Achilles had. It's limited and a bit cozy, but manageable. Maybe I got lucky. Counter-service, open seating. I thoroughly enjoyed everything that I had. Would highly recommend getting the Armenian Sujuk - extremely flavorful, smoky, and cured meat, super fluffy pliable French roll toasted and pressed to perfection. Garlic spread is another must. I had some to-go and put it on anything I could when I got home. The Damascus-style chicken and lamb wraps were wonderfully fresh and balanced -- meat, garlic spread, pickled turnip for crunch, cut into hand-size grabbable pieces. Two underrated items that you shouldn't pass? Their fries and their pickled turnip. Dip them both in garlic spread and thank me later. They're planning on eventually opening up a drive-through for their tacos. Look out for those Taco Tuesdays specials. Get the falafel tacos for sure. That's coming from a proud carnivore. Get two. I had a wonderful time eating here and don't have anything bad to say. Looking forward to trying their plates, manakeesh, and Turkish delights. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. Food was excellent. Had the chicken kebab style plate and was quite happy overall. The chicken was tender and flavorful. The other components: rice, salad and some pickled veggies worked well together. I also got the hummus, which was creamy and well worked very well with the chicken and rice. The falafel was also quite good, nice and crispy exterior with a good tasting mix. Only thing for me is they were a bit salty, though I tend to like lower salt levels than most. read more

We live near here and noticed this place while driving by and wanted to come try them out. It's a cute little place with a few tables for dine in. They have a glass case filled with different Turkish delight rolls and baklava. The menu on the wall showed just a handful of options for dinner. We both decided to try the chicken wrap with fries, and order a starter of the falafel. The nice young lady who took our order also brought us a sample of their tabbouleh to taste. Overall everything was okay. The fries were tasty although limp. The chicken had an interesting flavor I'd never tried before, but it was basically the only thing in the wrap other than pickles and a sauce. The falafel and the tabbouleh were very tasty! I probably liked those things best. They have a water fountain if you just want water, but it comes out tepid. That was odd. I've only ever seen cold water come out of those fountains, so not sure if that was a fluke or if it's always tepid. We also decided to buy some baklava and Turkish delight to take home. The lady told us it's imported from Turkey! Which I thought was so cool! When I tried it I was expecting it to be amazing (since it's so authentic!) but I'll be honest, it wasn't my thing. Right away, we were greeted with so much positivity and energy when we entered. The owner (or manager?) and staff were very patient and helpful to our questions. We were even offered turkey delight samples - it was so yummy! The interior was cozy and cute; the self service utensil/napkin/water area was very clean and easy to get. The owner was sweet and gave us some hot sauce when she saw me setting up the table for my friends. She told us that today was their two weeks anniversary of opening! We always love to support a small business. The food - this is the best falafel I ever had in South Bay, and that means I finally have a place to come when I am craving it. We really enjoyed our meal. Everything was fabulous and so fresh. The flavors are abundant and everything compliments the other when combined. My latest first time is the Fatteh! Delicious pita chips, garbanzo beans, yogurt dressing, chopped almonds, parsley and spices. I don't really know how to explain what it tastes like, other than yummy! The shish tawook was nice and juicy, the grilled shrimp had a great charred flavor similar to the shish tawook. The lentil soup never disappoints! Especially on a rainy night! I recommend just trying things and expanding your horizon if there are items you aren't familiar with. The kibbeh is one of my friends favorite- if you're a meat eater, give it a try! We love Iraklis, we love Achilles, we love Diaa, and we love Elias! They are wonderful people who deserve all the success in the world. Everything is fresh and from scratch. Finally got to try this Syrian spot after having it saved in my collections for so long. I'm so glad I made the drive to try it out. The inside is so cute with traditional Syrian decor all around. The dessert display looked so delicious! I ordered the falafel wrap which came with fries. The fries were perfection and the falafel wrap was so fresh and flavorful. Definitely get a side of their hot sauce too, it was too good. My siblings got the zatar and cheese mana'eesh which they absolutely devoured. We also got a side of hummus & dolma which tasted so authentic, just like how they make it in the Middle East. I also appreciate how many vegan and vegetarian options are offered here! The owner helped me and he was so sweet and hospitable, and the food came out quick given the amount of food I ordered. First time at Iraklis, and it definitely won't be my last! I ordered to-go, but the inside had a cozy, casual vibe--like a nicer fast food/sit-down mix. Alexa and Guntas were super helpful in guiding me through the menu, and everything I got was absolutely delicious. The Chicken Shawarma Wrap Damascus Style was packed with flavor, grilled perfectly, and cut into four easy-to-eat pieces (though I devoured it so fast, I forgot to take a picture!). The hummus was smooth and tasty, great for dipping the falafel they generously let me try--crispy outside, moist inside, and full of flavor. And the Turkish Delights? Next level. I brought home the chocolate hazelnut pistachio one after contemplating with Alexa, and it was so fresh it literally melted in my mouth, with the crunch of the nuts adding the perfect texture. Can't wait to come back and try the orange hazelnut one with some traditional Turkish coffee. Oh, and a quick tip--if you get fries, eat them fresh! Mine sat in the box a little too long while I was unloading groceries, but a quick toss in the air fryer brought them right back. Upon entering Iraklis you enter a different part of the world without physically traveling. The menu offers genuine traditional dishes that are different than you might have had at other restaurants. It hits home and makes you wanna cry from joy. Once I found out the desserts are shipped directly from Turkey, I had to try them. The environment is warm and cozy, you hear middle eastern music play in the background, the chit chat of people in different languages and the sound of laughter. I would love to mention Alexa for her warm greeting, her immaculate knowledge of every item on the menu including variety of dessert. We had a chance to converse shortly and I quickly realized she's an energetic, polite individual with a sweet personality. Seating is available inside, the restaurant is located in a shopping center so there's plenty of parking spots available. Would definitely recommend this restaurant. As I was leaving the restaurant, I was told that there's leftover soup and the restaurant doesn't through away food at the end of the day, instead they hand it out, so I was sent home with a cup of delicious lentil soup. Amazing and authentic Mediterranean food. My middle eastern boyfriend loved it and said this was the best falafel he's had in the US. The staff inside were friendly and seemed to have a lot of regular customers that they conversed with! They had a cute seating area that was clean and perfect for a casual dinner. Humble people, delicious food in a cute setting. I was visiting Bay Area and went there with my friends. The first things I noticed was a small, cute place with self service. The dessert window was so tempting. So I had to order something from it before actually placing my food order. The menu is small so four of us could try almost every item from the menu and plus they gave us falafel on the house (lovely people). The food was gone before I could take the picture. Every bite was delicious. Loved the pistachio baklava triangles and I can hog on just them. The labneh, hummus or fries were fresh. The pita/flat bread that came with hummus was soft. The zaatar and cheese manakeesh was delectable. The wraps and plate both were excellent. We were full when we were done and still had lot of food leftovers. 4.5 stars Iraklis Mediterranean is a local business offering a menu of Armenian/Syrian/Lebanese eats along with an entire case of Turkish sweets. The server was super friendly and offered us free (and very strong) Arabic coffee and crispy falafels with tahini before we even ordered. The menu was short and simple, and we had the Damascus-style Chicken Wrap, made of marinaded chicken shawarma wrapped in flatbread, which was then grilled and cut into pieces. The wrap also contained pickles and was served with a creamy garlic sauce, which added a strong garlicky flavor to every bite. The Lamb Shawarma plate came with marinaded lamb slices served over rice, along with hummus and cabbage/tomato salad. We also got sides of Tabbouleh (a lemony salad of parsley, tomato, bulgur), Vegan Kofta (chewy mixture of bulgur, pomegranate molasses, and chilies), and Manakeesh, a soft flatbread topped with a generous amount of za'atar and melted cheese. Stopped by before my basketball game and got the Armenian sujuck that came with fries. It was delicious! Also got a side order of falafels which were so flavorful! And some coffee. Honestly I had to save half my sandwich and dessert (after taking a bite of my triangle baklava) because I would have been too full for my game.
