First time here but planning to come back often. I really enjoyed their Damascus style lamb shawarma. The toasted bread really makes the difference. Plus the lamb has really good flavor, especially coupled with the hot sauce. I wasn't a big fan of the driving radish, or whatever the crunchy, purple vegetable was in there but I admit it does add a different taste kick. And the fries were perfectly crispy! 5 stars for the service alone!! First time coming to Iraklis to try Mediterranean food, and the moment I stepped through the doors I was greeted warmly with a huge welcome and smiles. Such friendly people here, the service is extremely attentive and helpful. I got the lamb shawarma, the meat was flavorful and tender; also loved the fragrant rice and hummus/side salad that came with it too. So where do I start.... Ok, let's start with my first bite of the sujuk sandwich, that bite took me across oceans and continents to the original Armenian little sandwich place in Damascus. The crunch of the bread, explosion of calculated amounts of spices, juicy meat, and that little cucumber pickle!!!! If I was by myself, I would've cried tears of happiness. How on earth did they get that exact taste I don't know. Then came the falafel, and as a Syrian, I DO know my falafel well. Again, my taste buds had another party. During Ramadan they serve Iftar buffet (fast breaking meal) on weekends. The lentils soup is the star for me from last year, but it had a competition this year with the Fatteh (can't explain the dish, you have to try it for yourself). Fattoush salad is as good as home made one, kufta, chicken shawarma, hummus, shish tawoq, and the daily dish were all top of the line. Elias and Deya (owners), were checking on each table, chatting with diners and turning the scene into a family gathering setting. Their manager was so friendly and kind and was helpful with a very cranky baby customer and was able to actually get her to stop crying . Amazing, affordable Mediterranean food in the Bay Area! Iraklis came across my feed on TikTok, so I decided to try it out with a friend. I walk in and the restaurant immediately blows me away. With Arabic music playing in the background, I'm met with a small but beautiful interior filled with colorful chairs, tables, and flowers. A sweet girl at the front greeted us when we stepped in. Since they got a Taco Tuesday deal, I got 3 chicken tacos and my friend got the Falafel wrap. The food was excellent, and the portions and quality were over the top for the amount we paid. It felt as if I was eating at a casual gyro place but the food quality and the restaurant interior were elevated. On top of that, their menu options were huge as they also had Turkish delights on display, Armenian Sujuk, Labaneh, and so many more options! Tried their Chicken Wrap, Beef Kofta and the Chocolate Pistachio Turkish Delight. The chicken in the wrap was very tasty, a little hint of lemony taste and definitely had spices. Very well seasoned. The wrap had enough amount of chicken compared to other wrap places I've tried that there's way too much bread than filling. It came with a garlicky cheese spread that looked like a small scoop of mashed potatoes. I think it's called labneh. This Labneh had a slight sour flavor and a stronger garlic taste with a creamy but slight grainier texture similar to mixing mashed potato and cottage cheese. Best Turkish Delight! Full chocolate flavor rolled inside the jelly candy coated with crushed pistachio. Nice friendly lady at the counter. I ordered Togo and food was ready when I showed up. Reasonably priced. Two of us ordered: -1 lamb wrap $14.99 -1 lamb plate $15.99 Staff included an extra falaffel for us to try out which were good. Lamb meat in general, didn't have as much flavor as I would have liked. Wrap was essentially meat and fajitas. Could have been crispier. Fries were good Lamb plate was fine. Again, meat could be improved. Rice had a lot of leftover oil after we finished eating. The food is amazing here! Being from the Sierras, I found menu items at Iraklis that I have never seen before. That's why I love restaurants in the Bay Area! The baklava was some of the best I have ever had and the Turkish Delights were top notch. I recommend even just stopping by for the sweets! I had the lamb wrap with tabouli salad as a side and everything tasted like it was made with heart and soul. The service was fabulous too. Our server gave great suggestions, and was very helpful. As a meat eater, I saw the Lebanese wrap and thought this can't be that great with no meat in it, but I was pushed by family into getting it and it was an amazing wrap. Very well seasoned, salted and dressed with lettuce and sauce. My experience would be great if it ended there, but it did not. The owner is a very generous person and it shows in his portion sizes. He gave me a Mansaf plate on the house and it was very well seasoned, salted and made with very fresh ingredients. It goes so well with the lamb shawarma. Parking: It's located in the plaza, so there's plenty of parking, and it doesn't get too busy. Environment: it has about 5-7 tables. I've been wanting to try this place for a while, especially b/c of all the positive reviews. Today, I finally made my way here. And I'm glad I did! The restaurant is cute, clean, and very welcoming. The owner and the cashier were the sweetest people. They welcomed my husband and I with the biggest smiles and every customer that came in. It's so refreshing to be met with such sweet and genuine energy. Now on to the food. The star here is the falafel. We didn't even order it! I'm glad they brought it to our table for us to try. Very, very good falafel! I had the chicken shawarma wrap - Damascus style, which basically means the wrap is cut into bite-sized pieces and it also comes with a side of fires and toum (garlic sauce). My husband had the lamb shawarma wrap the same way. Both were great and authentic. The wraps aren't made like burritos (like I'm used to seeing at most other shawarma spots). Came here looking at the great reviews and also saw that they had Arabic coffee. We were greeted by a very friendly person at the register. The ambiance was really nice with traditional coffee utensils and decor. I got the Arabic coffee which was heated on sand (Turkish style). Also got the chicken shawarma plate which is not on the menu, but they were kind enough to make it for me :) I have had arabic coffee before (in Oman). I was craving Mediterranean food, so I did a quick search, found this place, and decided to try it. It is a hidden gem with unmatched service. The owner seems to be part of the staff, ensuring everything is clean and organized. For lunch, I had vegan kofta (bulgur-based spread blended with tomato, onion, and spices) and hummus (it came with a Lavash), and to my surprise, they gave me two falafels to try with tahini sauce. Iraklis is a new restaurant in Santa Clara, and it's a neighborhood gem. Upon arriving we were warmly greeted by Grace, one of the owners. She explained the menu, made recommendations, and told us a little about the dishes and how they were prepared. I opted for the lamb plate which came with beautifully seasoned pieces of tender lamb over a fluffy bed of rice, with cabbage salad, and homemade hummus. The dish was delicious and I especially loved the hummus. My husband ordered the chicken wrap, Damascus style, which was chicken marinated in spices wrapped up with a creamy garlic spread, pickles, and pomegranate molasses. The pomegranate molasses added a slightly sweet & sour taste, which went great with the chicken. The garlic spread was in the wrap and also on the side, along with fries. We also tried the falafel, which was served with Tahini sauce and was wonderful. All of the food here is super fresh. The restaurant is small but has comfortable tables for dining in. Parking is no problem at this strip mall. Above all else, the kindness of Grace and her expertise in the food and traditions add up to 10-star service. We'll definitely be back. In the past year that I have been here, the plating presentation has definitely improved, now the lamb plate is 16. The taste is still really good, but a little disappointed in the serving size since the last time I came. The service was pretty straight forward. We recently learned that Iraklis is owned by the same team behind Achilles, our absolute favorite takeout spot, so we knew we had to try it. And wow, it did not disappoint. The food was incredible. You can really taste how fresh the ingredients are, and knowing they make their spices in-house explains why the flavors feel so clean and well-balanced. Unlike many places where you leave feeling overly full and heavy, this meal felt fresh, satisfying, and thoughtfully made. I can already tell Iraklis is going to be one of our go-to restaurants. The staff at both Achilles and Iraklis are consistently some of the friendliest we've encountered. Special shoutout to Santiago, who always greets us by name and genuinely makes us feel like family every time we're there. Couldn't recommend this place enough. A bit disappointed... from the 5 star reviews we thought it was going to be really good guys dinner. I ordered the lamb plate with falafels on the side. The falafels were good. They were crispy and very tasty as you'd expect from a falafel. The lamb plate was quite different. The meat was tasteless as the rice under it. The salad was very tart with an undistinguished taste, just tart. The hummus was creamy and tasted as you'd expect. Over all we were confused with the praising reviews. We were also over charged for our food which I didn't understand until we left. My bill should have been about $35 for 2 lamb plates and side of falafel, but it came out to $45. read more

I had been here once before for a yelp event and decided to come back. This time I ordered through DoorDash - ordered a falafel wrap. Even placing the order through a third party, the wrap was so warm when we received it. The falafel wrap is HUGE, so you can definitely divide this between two meals, two people, or if you're starving this will be enough. The outside of the wrap is crispy and perfect. This is a new shop owned by Elias. He is super-friendly and loves any feedback of his shop. This was my very first time trying out Syrian food. Easy place on main street and parking is very easy. Ordered a few items per his recommendation and I loved it. The pita bread with 1/2 zaatar and cheese was the perfect balance. The lamb wrap was pretty good but I would ask for the veggies on the side rather that in the wrap and ask for extra sauce on the side. No gamey lamb taste. The falafel was extremely crispy but soft in the middle. The dipping sauce on the side was amazing. I would even argue it's better than the falafel drive inn. I would definitely order this on the side when I come back. The Turkish delight was soo darn good - and I think it's better once you place them in fridge for chewier texture. So I am a big fan of falafel wrap, came here when I was really hungry, on a date with my husband. He had the chicken Shawarma rice and salad plate. We ordered baba ghanoush and foul beans. It was all really excellent the falafel was crispy but soft on the inside. Not oily at all. Delish!!! My husband enjoyed his chicken dish, no complaints from him. The dips were excellent but we ordered a bit much cause we were both so hungry.
