Date night with hubby, did some research on local restaurants near me and decided to try a different cuisine. From the moment we entered, the hostess pleasantly greeted us. It was pretty early in the afternoon and quiet. The seating was made up of comfy booths and tables and chairs, of which the hostess offered us a booth. We ordered bulgogi, sweet garlic wings, chicken yakisoba, and a salad, one of the dishes came with miso soup, and a side of kimchi. The portions were huge, the flavor on the chicken wings excellent, the bulgogi beef was so tender and tasty, the salad was large enough to share between two adults. So happy to have stumbled upon this place so close to me! We got the kalbi ribs, beef bulgogi & the sweet garlic chicken wings. Literally everything we ate was a hit for us, especially the bachan. I truly feel comfortable leaving this establishment 5 stars because it was simply that good. Reserved a table for 6:30 table was set promptly with utensils, pitcher of water, condiments and cups full with ice. I felt welcomed with my reservation. Lovely establishment. If you're looking for bibimbap or kalbi, this is a must eat. We sat down to a sizzling hot plate of bulgolgi bibimbap and kalbi rice bowl, served with banchan. SO GOOD. They must've opened recently in Kent because we've been up the hill for 5 years and never ran across this gem. No need to run all the way to H Mart food court. Doing our part to support local businesses. This week I wanna highlight Iron Pot on First Ave S in Kent, a fairly new Korean spot featuring bulgogi, bibimbap & poke. Everyone knows that in Federal Way, Korean bbq is everywhere. In Kent, not so much. The food and service here was great! The nephew and I shared the Grill Mix plate with kalbi and grilled chicken. We were craving and on the hunt for Korean Food, similar to what we are used to back home on Oahu, Hawaii. Drove from Maple Valley, now WA residents for 1 year ((yaaay)) I found Iron Pot with majority good reviews and thought why not try it! Parking wasn't a problem, street parking in front of the restaurant, lucky us! It is truly a hole in a wall, a gem. Unfortunately they do not serve Kim Chee Beef stew, instead they have Miso Soup as I thought it was strange being it's a Japanese soup served in a Korean restaurant. It didn't matter, it was very delicious and delicious and tasty! Pork was ono and Kalbi ono too! Noodles mixed with lots of healthy veggies! Will go back to try their KALBI and Bulgogi (sp?) and Bimbimbup (sp?) lol I'm not good at spelling Korean dish names! The Owner is very sweet and service fast! Love all the food that we ordered (poke, bulgogi lunch, chicken katsu lunch, sweet and garlic chicken wings). The lunch portion is HUGE! Love the small Korean dishes that came with the meal. Very nice customer service and reasonable price. I'm only giving four stars just because I'm not a big fans of the sauces--the one with the chicken katsu was a little bit too sour for me. And also the sweet and garlic source for the chicken wings was a bit too sweet for me. But these might be just my personal taste and everything taste very well in general. read more

My wife and I went here on a date because they had the tent and it was a local restaurant that just opened so we wanted to give it a try. Both of our meals were amazing! I got the Poke and the lady helped me figure out what I wanted (never had it before) and I was so happy with my meal. My wife got some beef and noodle meal that may of been better than mine but than again I am comparing 2 bites to a entire meal. The noodles were perfect. They had flavor but wasn't overwhelming, the texture was perfect and the meat was the same. For dates we usually go to Bellevue or Seattle to get food we like but this place will definitely be one locally we will come back to. Also on the bar TV they were playing a Star Wars movie. Unfortunately due to Covid we sat outside but I will be back to drink with friends if they keep that going! read more

A friend referred this restaurant and we love Korean food. We had the kalbi plate and bi bim bap. Both were excellent and generous servings. Lots of veggies in the bap. We live close by so this will be a regular place for us since it's so convenient. Interior of the restaurant is very nice but we did takeout. They had a tent outside but it was a little cool. Found this new spot in Kent went to go check it out, very friendly staff. The place was well decorated and had a lot of variety of baked goods. We ordered grilled chicken and pork with white rice and salad. They also had homemade fresh kimchi and fermented kimchi. Food was very good had that homemade barbecue taste, you can watch them grill and prepare your food from the counter. We also ordered an apple dessert tasted like homemade apple pie. The woman checking us out stated that somebody just stole their outdoor dining tent! And they recently just got a new one weather was very bad outside so we did not eat in the tent. Place is very clean they wear masks and have a hand sanitizer available. They will allow you to use the restroom which is unlike some of the other restaurants We have visited lately. Glad to have a new option in Kent. Will be going back and trying other things. Price was fair and We felt comfortable eating here. read more

Food was incredible. Poke bowl was very fresh. Loved that sides were inexpensive for just a couple pieces of crab Rangoon or spring roll. Beef bulgogi was very tender. Not a great place for larger parties, we were a table of 5 for lunch and waited ~20 minutes for a table, i image bigger parties would be even harder. I started eating at the Iron Pot a few months ago. I meet there with a close friend, who is also a business associate and Iron Pot was a convenient "in between" location for us to meet. We originally really liked the poke bowls there and it became our "go-to" place for lunch. Then, after eating there last week, my friend/business associate got really sick from salmonella / food poisoning, after eating the maguro tuna poke bowl. I fortunately ate the sake salmon poke bowl and didn't get sick. My friend wretched for two full days and then had medical bills and went to the doctor, as a result of unsafe food handling, or more likely the restaurant owners being cheapskates and trying to save money by not throwing away aged raw fish, which is totally unacceptable, making a customer sick, causing them time off work and medical expenses, not to mention the sheer pain of going through food poisoning, which is terrible. We will never be back to Iron Pot, because of this. It's not worth it. read more
