5 stars across the board. Busy Friday night, made a reservation, promptly seated. Burgers, apps and chicken dish were all excellent. Our server Tyler was great as were the food runners and the house manager who checked on us during our meal. Despite being at full capacity the ticket times were on point and the food and beverage quality was perfect. Clean rest rooms, plenty of parking and a friendly host staff getting us seated made for a great experience. Can't wait to return again.

Updated review. This place is still pumping and jumping! Isaiah S. was such a delight to be served by. Very knowledgeable, told me about the Newport restaurants points app, fun ways to eat the dishes and gave the best description and inside scoop on all foods. Everything was seasoned well, and hot. Our only take away was if the porkchops had something with a different texture added to it. The bread pudding w the ice cream was fantastic as well, sweet gooey goodness. This is an accessible restaurant, with a ramp, automatic doors and handicap parking. It's a shared parking lot still, but there are signs indicating where you can or can't park. Low low music. Lighting is dim, space to walk between tables, clean bathrooms.

Our party of 5 visited Iron Works for dinner last night and had a great experience here. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. Our server, Jenna, visited our table soon after we were seated and brought us water. We were waiting for other members of our party, and she never made us feel rushed or pressured. While waiting, we put in drink orders and the "Lavender Fields Forever" cocktail that I ordered (Rhodium Gin, lavender syrup, fresh lemon juice, snap pea simple syrup) was so delicious, and garnished with a beautiful sprig of lavender flowers. We ordered two appetizers: Point Judith Calarmari and Corn Arepas. The calamari had too many tentacles and not enough rings for me, but the arepas were excellent. The cornmeal base was crispy and hot, and there was just the right amount of meat and toppings. For entrees, our group ordered the Chimichurri Grilled Chicken sandwich, The rigatoni with pink sauce and sausage with crispy chicken as an add on, the short ribs over mashed potatoes, the Wood-Grilled Bone-In Pork Chop, and the Rib Eye Steak. We all enjoyed our entrees. It is evident that Iron Works uses high quality ingredients and puts a great amount of care into the preparation fo their food. We split three desserts amongst the five of us: The flourless chocolate torte, the cheesecake, and the Banoffee Sundae. The flourless torte was rich and very chocolately, and the cheesecake was very good as well. I'm not a fan of bananas, so I didn;t try the Sundae, but the friend who ordered it enjoyed it. After dinner, we sat and chatted for awhile,, and we never felt rushed or pressured to leave. This was a very enjoyable evening in a great restaurant environment with delicious food.

Visiting got room service in the Hilton from Ironworks. I was extremely pleased. Had the clam chowder and shaved beef and buffalo chicken dip I saved for later. The chowder was what I expected it was really good. But nothing over the top just satisfying and good. The shaved beef where I'm from it's a cheesesteak with fries. The roll was good and steak on point. The fries were under cooked I like them crispy. The dip was my fav! Really awesome for snack with a movie. I'll order again tonight

Iron Works is a casual atmosphere where you an get very good food. Cloth napkins, well trained staff, chef curated foods. A hostess will seat you with menus. Your waitress will stop by to fill your water glass and take a drink order. The dining room is a mix of booth, banquette, table and bar seating. So options. During out last visit we ordered a sandwich and fish tacos. Each came with a side of choice. The presentation is lovely. Heavy flatware is wrapped in a cloth napkin. The waitstaff keep a good eye on you throughout your meal. Parking is shared with the hotel. restrooms are gender specific and updated. Acoustic tiles on the ceiling help keep the sound down. Iron Works is an excellent choice for good food in a relaxed atmosphere.

Like clockwork, you can find me at Iron Works the moment I hop off the plane. Each visit has been consistently pleasant and tasty. The restaurant is conveniently located across the street from the Providence airport and connected to the Hilton Hotel. Parking can be a bit of a nightmare since it's tied to the hotel and functions as a commuter spot. Peak days are nuts for parking. Buuuuuuuuuuut once you walk inside, all of that fades away. You step into a modern, cozy space that immediately relaxes you, paired with great service and a perfectly clean environment. My server has regularly been Brianna. She is very sweet, personable, and engaging. She knows the menu well and always makes great recommendations. After coming here a few times, my go-to drink is the Tawny Ember. Chef's kiss! I've also ordered the Brussels sprouts, grilled swordfish, and fish tacos. All great choices. And honestly, it's Rhode Island, you really can't go wrong with seafood. Stop by and give them a shot.

Met a few colleagues here for dinner around 7:45 and had a reservation. Arrived a few minutes before and was sat promptly. Not too busy for a Tuesday evening. The table shared the wings and buffalo chicken dip and I got the braised short rib with veggie and mashed potatoes. The wings were crispy and had great flavor. The buffalo dip was also tasty and had a slight kick to it. The Brazos Ed short ribs were decent, a bit dry in a few spots but when mixed with the mashed potatoes was fine. Service was great and very patient as we were catching up and took close to 30 min before we were ready to order. Food came out quickly and drinks were refreshed before being empty. Restaurant decor was modern and simple. Clean restrooms and good vibes.

Loved my experience here! Came around lunch and it was packed. Not an issue - my friend and I were still sat within 5 ish minutes. Our server was smiley and delightful. We ordered wings and two drinks, cocktail and a glass of wine. The wings had to be cooked specially because my friend has a seafood allergy. Fun fact they fried the wings in fish grease. Doesn't have any affect on the flavor of the wings. Just their style. The wings were amazing. Meat fell right off the bone. For an entree I ordered a fish taco meal and my bestie did a burger with mash potatoes. Again options limited due to cross contamination. She devoured her meal and she it was good. My tacos were good and filling. Decent about of meat filling and I liked the crispiness of the fry. As a visitor to the state, I'd return here!

This last time, I got their grilled salmon. I asked for roasted veggies instead of the carb loaded mashed potatoes and that was not a problem with my server nor the kitchen. I ordered the fish to be cooked medium. The dish was really tasty and it was well made. The veggies were just OK, not great but the salmon was something I would get again. My server was very nice and very prompt on all requests. Lots of parking right outside the door. This is a great tavern-style choice if you are near the TF Green airport or anywhere in the Warwick area. Also, very easy to get on/off from the highway. Easy !

Found this spot close to the Providence airport and were so blown away by the quality of food and friendly staff. There is a hotel close that has lots of parking spots but we're able to find some spot a short walk away. The vibe is industrial chic with pretty gold lighting and brick walls. Our group tried the pupusas with pork for an app and loved the cheese in the dough and saucy pork. Salads were awesome and chicken sandwiche was dynamite. Some other stand outs were the nachos, the truffle fries, and lettuce wraps. Their pineapple soaked vodka drink is not to miss. So flavorful and not overly sweet. Could have had many more. Jenna N was the BEST waitress!

The ambiance was a teensy bit loud for my tastes, but still great, especially since I was there with a large group. The service was excellent; our server was amazing. The food was good, but not as amazing as I had thought or hoped. Of course, this is my opinion and you are welcome to disagree. In fact, I'm happy for you if you had a better time. The menu read very fancy and culinarily interesting, but for me at least, that just meant they took what would be great, but overcomplicated it, made it too foodie. No matter what I ordered I would have had to change something. I got the chicken sandwich. I'm in the 10% of the population where cilantro tastes like soap, but cilantro is mixed into the slaw that is the primary thing on the sandwich. I also asked for light chili mayo because I don't like too much. If that was light mayo, then maybe they normally serve it in a bowl of chili mayo. It was 2 relatively large, very fried, chicken breasts. I immediately took one off because I knew I would make myself sick eating so much. Frankly, it basically tasted like a fried and chili mayo sandwich. All the chicken flavor was completely drowned out by the fried taste. I don't think I'd order that again. I swapped out the sides for the Gruyère mashed potatoes. They were very good, but they got really dry and starchy by the end. I got the espresso mock-tini, which was basically milk and a shot of espresso in a martini glass. I could have downed it all in one gulp. It was nonalcoholic, but it was still priced the same as the alcoholic stuff. Bottom line, if the company were paying again, I'd give it another try, but if I lived here I don't think I'd come here again on my own. Still awesome service though, and plenty of people love it, so hopefully it works better for you!

My husband and I were here for dinner a few nights ago. We had driven down to RI for a funeral the next day and were staying at the Hyatt Hotel which is just a stone's throw from this restaurant. We went in without reservations at about 7pm. The place was hopping! The young man standing at the host station was very nice but unfortunately he estimated the wait at close to an hour. The bar was packed so that didn't seem like a great place to wait....plus neither of us is drinking alcohol these days. We did put our names on the wait list and went back out to our car to figure out our next move. We were still deciding whether to wait it out or go elsewhere and luck was with us. Only 15 minutes had elapsed and my phone pinged alerting us a table was ready! We walked back in. I wish I had gotten the host's name but he told us he saw us sitting out in the car in the parking lot and was "able to move things around for us." We were brought to a lovely booth in a quieter section of the restaurant. Let me pause here to say the building this restaurant is in is beautiful. It is an old brick building that was indeed the home of an Iron Works company back in the 1800s. The inside was charming with open ceilings and exposed ductwork. There are many restaurants with this aesthetic but most of the details in this place appear to be the real deal. The menu is American food classics. Tom and I each ordered a bacon cheeseburger with side Caesar salads. The waitress who did tell us her name but I've forgotten was the sweetest. (Long lightish brown hair in a high ponytail that night). The food runner was a very young looking guy, a bit addled. He went to put down my burger but before he did so I asked if the burger he was giving me was the one cooked to"medium"....he said "oops no" and he swapped the plates presumably giving me my medium burger and then Tom his medium-rare burger. One bite in and I realized he in fact had given me the medium rare burger. Dear God. Is this so hard to figure out in the kitchen with just two plates of food to bring out? Food runners: be sure you know what you are holding before you serve them. This wasn't the biggest error for us but it could have been with someone with a food allergy. Addled young food runner also asked me if I wanted freshly grated black pepper on my salad but walked away before he asked Tom if he wanted any. The burgers were delicious with a nice fire grilled char on them. The accompanying Caesar salads were forgettable. They had unremarkable iceberg lettuce, a not very good nor convincing Caesar dressing, a crouton or two, maybe some cheese and no anchovies. What!? The ambiance was lovely, the burgers were good. The salads were not good. The vibe was nice. It might have been very noisy in there but the location of our booth toward the back was perfect for us. Toward the end of our meal, the manager came by as he roamed the restaurant to inquire about our meals which I thought was nice. The biggest shoutout to the young male host that night who got us in the restaurant in a timely manner. He told us he is a senior at Johnson and Wales University studying I believe he said: "Hospitality." I think this delightful young man is in the right field. I wish him well.

We were in need of a lunch spot as we drove through Rhode Island, and a quick yelping brought us to Iron Works (no offense to them, but our first choice didn't have a table for two hours, which would've extended our road trip too long for our comfort). This big, bright, industrial chic spot attached to a hotel had plenty of seating, and we were quickly ushered into a nice booth. Not only that, but they had these tiny "wikki stix" toys for my girls that are a very large step up from a couple stubby crayons. We parents appreciate you, Iron Works. While I wouldn't call Iron Works homey, I wasn't sad about the efficiency inherent in their vaguely corporate vibe. Our server Sabrina was excellent, and she guided us through a very solid meal. The menu is full of a lot of classic staples, cheffed up a bit. My younger kid ate chicken fingers and fries because that's mostly all she eats currently, and the rest of us shared the birria ramen, the smoked wings, and some brussels sprouts. The brussels were excellent. A little bacon, a little apple, some cheese and apple cider vinegar for acid, we were all a fan. The wings were a little overfried, but this is vastly preferable to undercooked, flabby wing fat. They called the sauce at the bottom of the bowl a "buffalo emulsion," and between that and the bleu cheese, it had all the flavors I wanted. The birria ramen tasted pretty good, but I personally felt like it's not a combination I need in my life. It didn't really hit the birria spot, nor the ramen spot for me, but take that with a grain of salt because my wife and daughter loved it. As they tell me often, perhaps my opinion is just wrong. All in all, a very solid meal. Thanks Iron Works.

Bars can be fickle places. The best are local places but you also have to put up with the idiosyncrasies that equate to "color." Bars also have micro-personalities that change with the time and the day; so I think you have to take any bar review with a grain of salt. Think of it this way. Imagine going to the beach. It is very warm but the wind is blowing and it is overcast. Does the beach suck? I think not. Perhaps that part of the beach isn't for you or maybe you go another time. I think the Grid Iron is just such a place. I came in for a pre-haircut beer and found a large, somewhat dim establishment, but soon realized the management allows the natural light to do what it does best. After a few minutes it is just light enough in here, and it is much more comfortable than bright fluorescent lights. I noticed someone made a comment about having to make their way through a throng of smokers. I only encountered four or five but they were very polite and there is an area especially set up for smokers. Besides, they are a dying breed, so we should be respectful and a little nostalgic (that is harshly ironic - could be the double IPAs). There were locals at the bar and some were using *gasp* salty language, but it is a bar, so... We had the most sexually inappropriate bartender. I wish I remembered her name as she was so over the top naughty. Ok, yes I loved her. My impression is that she knows her audience, um, clientele. I told my coworkers about her, but when they stopped in they reported that she had more than the modicum of appropriateness. I would say their loss, but they enjoyed her service just as much. This is what professional service is all about. I didn't try the food, but my coworkers also said they had very tasty lunches. All in all, if you are in the area and looking for a place to go, stop here and give it a try. read more

What an amazing experience last night for my birthday celebration here!!! Our party of ten was seated at a very comfortable location, and every single person was thrilled with the quality of their meals. I had the braised short rib with delicious mashed potatoes and gravy (so much FLAVOR!!) and perfectly cooked, fresh carrots and green beans. I added the soup of the day that was so good I didn't mind stuffing myself a little fuller than usual , and as one of two birthday peeps also enjoyed a complimentary dessert. I chose the coconut cream pie and WOW! What a treat! Anthony took wonderful care of us, showing up right on time when needed and letting us alone when not, and his impeccable service was quite appreciated by all. I tried two cocktails (pineapple infused vodka and the mezcal margarita) and both were well-made. The ambience was incredible, especially given the number of people there compared with the little noise we had to compete with. Great sound abatement!!! All in all, highly recommend this establishment and thrilled to have introduced it to the rest of our group. We will all be back read more

Spent New Years Eve last night with another couple, as we have done the past two years. When we were seated, were told kitchen is closing at 10 and at 10:45 were informed they were ready to close. An absolutely horrible experience. I told my wife that there must have been a change in ownership. Sure enough, there was and they have destroyed the vibe. Will never return. read more

Last minute dinner decision and Iron Works is always so tasty! My husband and I struggle sometimes finding a resistant we both enjoy because our food choices are so different and here he can enjoy an amazing fresh pizza while I have an out of this world got quinoa salad with scallops. On top of that our server, Alicia I believe, was friendly and there always at the right moment without crowding us. There is also an amazing bar there with great local beers and liquors. Neither of us got it tonight, but there Mac n cheese is out of this world, worth all the cheese and carbs in it! I'd recommend this to locals and travelers. It's also super close to the airport. read more

I had the grilled salmon with goat cheese and bacon quinoa and it was delicious! I definitely intend on coming here often now. "It was the best of times it was the worst of times" Irion works in Warwick Truly was a "Tale of two Cities" so this is truly a tough review for me. I'm going to break off from what people say are the norm review method and act like your boss at work and tell you the positives before I drop the Negatives. First of and saving grace, The food was delicious I went with the Chicken Parm sandwhich which took me by surprise and us easily top 10 best Chicken parm sandwhiches I've had. It came with fries that were def fresh cut, all nice and hot and super tasty. You could tell the chicken was prepared on the spot as if it was a normal Italian dinner plate but just put into a very tasty bread and fresh mozz with a melo sauce. My wife got the shaved prime rib sandwhich which look very good and my Brother and sister I law enjoyed two steak dishes and I could see the steak was cook perfectly. I also got "Sticky Chicken wings" appetizer they were good with a sticky spicy asian type sauce. The waiter was good and inventive and the inside of pleasant rustic old factory with open ceilings showing vents and duct work with a big bar in the middle and a open kitchen. Unfortunately there are some negatives that bring Irion works to a 3 star rating despite the good food. When I arrived in it was extreamly hot inside I'd say in the mid 80s ez. I sat down in search if some water due to the heat unfortunately that would be delayed due duty glasses and I dont mean a finger print I'm talking sticky gross dirty. I eagerly open the menu and was shocked how small it was not much to choose from at all. I looked at a good amount of apps and sandwiches but main meals lacked in variety. We put our orders in and in quick fashion the apps and salads came out we enjoyed them waited for main course.... and waited.... and waited.... and waited a large amount of time passed the table next two us finished there meal left table was reset and a 2nd family ordered and ate and we still had no meal. The apps and salads were a distant memory at this point. The waiter comes and says just a few more minutes as the table next to us with the 2nd family starts dessert. Another 39 min pass after the waiter last came... at this point I'm not that hungry anymore my apps are fully digested and I'm overheated by the tropical temps if the restaurant. As I'm watching the table next to us being reset for the 3rd party since I've arrived out of the corner of my eye what do I see??? HAZAAAR! OUR FOOD! As I described before the food was great! It's a shame that this review has to be 3 stars becuase the food deserves better. Maybe it was a bad night for them but it was kinda ridiculous. Maybe I'll go back someday and let them try to redeem themselves. read more

My friend and I came here after visiting Proclamation brewery right down the road after their food truck closed early for the night. We found seats at the bar at 8:30 on a Saturday as most people were clearing out for the night. The bartender took his time to greet us and really was not attentive during our visit but my friend and I wanted to be in and out so we didn't mind too much. The menu had a mix of handhelds and fancier dinner meals depending on your budget or level of hungrieness. I got the chic pea lentil veggie burger and was quite impressed. It stayed together the whole time and the side salad was actual mixed greens which you don't see everywhere. They had some local beers on tap and a decent drink list which ranged from $6-$13. If I needed a quick bite to eat and was in the area I'd come back here but wasn't completely satisfied with the menu options as I felt they were basic but that may just be my opinion. It is definitely the best place to go if you are staying in a hotel in the area as most of the other places near by are chain restaurants or fast food. read more

About as mediocre a restaurant that one is likely to find in Rhode Island. The greeter or hostess or whatever needs a brush up on people skill or even better have someone else. I am very surprised at the Newport Restaurant Group as there establishments are usually top notch. The server was ok nothing out of the ordinary just ok. The pork schnitzel was the best dish, the mashed potatoes were awful. No need to enumerate the food any more it was all mediocre at best. Dessert portions on the smaller side. Drinks were fine. read more

Meh. First I of all, we had bad service from Joseph. I'm sorry to call someone out by name, but he was standing along the wall staring into space for ages while we were waiting for him and he even ignore when we waved at him. The alleged "Short rib" is some weird piece of meat with no bone in a magic rectangle shape (see pic). Maybe it was brisket, but it was way overpriced at $26 and "roasted vegetables" turned out to be just carrots. I do like carrots but it wasn't as advertised. The lobster roll was good. Joseph also didn't tell us there would be substitution upcharge for requesting an alternate liquor in one of the cocktails. Overall, the food was just ok and I won't be going back. read more

Great beer list, smoked wings and the pastrami sandwich and fries were very good. A huge pile of pastrami, though could have been more evenly spread on the sandwich which also seemed to be missing sauerkraut or another bit of veggie. read more

Ordered takeout after a long day at the beach. Service was fast (30 mins from when we ordered to having our food) and the hostess was very friendly! The chicken tenders were fine but the fries were oily, soft, and kind of cold... the chips were hard and stale, and the guacamole was tasteless. I don't think they have heard of salt and pepper. The fish and chips were horrible too, as the fish was soggy. Would not ever come back here and don't recommend you do either. read more

- The 'Lamb lollipops' (which are delicious) & the burgers are the only thing I've eaten here. They (Ironworks) are pricey! 3 Lamb lollipops for $15. $12 for a burger (Lettuce, Tomatoes & onions) If you want cheese add $1. Bacon $2 extra. Definitely (NOT) worth it!!! (UPDATE) I had to drop the rating to a "2" due to the fact that they tried to charge me an extra $11 for a side order of asparagus & mashed potatoes. The 'Lamb Lollipops' cost a little over $16 (tax included) when I wanted to add 2 sides, they were charging an extra $11!! $27 total. SMH!! read more

Just order a burger from Iron Works with the truffle fries and it's easily the best burger I've had in quite a while. It was juicy, perfectly cooked, and seasoned. The fries are evil in their addtictivesness. I saw quite a few yummy options on the menu and looking forward to trying them all. read more

I wasn't expecting the quality of food and drinks to be so great considering that it was connected to a hotel. Food was a little pricey but definitely well worth it. I ordered the pizza here and it was fantastic! Honestly wish I could have brought it back to my hotel to finish it but I didn't have a microwave in my room. Yet another off the beaten track non-tourist find. Very nice overall menu but we chose two of the Happy hour specials. And we were thrilled with the Pizza selection and baked Brussels sprouts. Both served quickly and hot. Servers were very friendly and explained everything with passion. read more

Whilst staying in the Hilton Garden Inn in Warwick, Rhode Island, I visited the Iron Works Restaurant/Tavern for dinner. And I liked it. It's not the kind of place that's overly fancy; in fact, the lighting was quite dim and there's a rustic feel to the dining area. But you'll be comfortable and well taken care of. Our pick of the appetizers were the interesting Lamb Lollipops that came deliciously marinated. If you like lamb, or haven't ever tried it before, like me, it's a great choice. They were gone pretty quickly. The salad I got soon after was pleasant as well. Then came my bread-crumb topped Mac and cheese (yes, I know, I get that a lot). It came in a beautiful cast iron dish which stayed warm throughout the meal. I guess that's about it for the Iron Works in Warwick. It has a great vibe, good menu and though the lighting was iffy, I would go back. read more

I had a lovely lunch at Iron Works. The whole team was very accommodating to our mixed adult & children group as well as need for accessible seating. The service was fantastic - friendly, supportive, and welcoming. We had the kids salmon (with mashed potatoes, carrots & broccoli rabe) the Buffalo chicken dip, the guacamole & chips, the beet & goat cheese salad, and pork schnitzel. Superb spot. Get reservations.... We did "just in case" for a Tuesday night at 7:30. The place was hopping and rightfully so. Delicious food - I got the grilled pork chop (I know, right?!?). Wife got the fish tacos. We both loved our dishes. Guinness draughts with a good patient two stage pour. Friendly people everywhere, staff and patrons alike. Super cool old school but still hip but not trying too hard vibe is pulled off with ease here. I look forward to dining here again. read more

Last minute dinner on the busiest night of the year..St Patrick's Day we were still accommodated without a reservation by the manager. Chuck was without a doubt the most gracious waiter, knew the menus front and back as well as very prompt with refills and recommendations although it was a busy night we felt like we were his only priority. The food was delicious. Hubby had scallops wrapped in bacon and chicken parmagiano when he asked for light sauce once again Chuck our waiter asked if he could explain how the sauce was made and my husband agreed, much to my surprise hubby loved it! I had buffalo chicken dip it was amazing. Vegan options were very good as well. Brought take out Mac and cheese with bacon home as well...scrumptious. Raspberry margarita was on point. Super low quality ingredients for the food, and with astronomical prices. Doesn't make sense. Drinks were fine. But they trick you into thinking you're eating a Michelin star meal. A nice little place right next to PVD airport. Menu items are better than average bar fare. I tried the lobster roll on a pretzel roll. The lobster was great! Not dry or tough and it wasn't drowned in mayo. It tasted rather fresh. That's what I love about the east coast... good seafood is easy to come by. I gave her my phone number and received a message to download Yelp! including a "Your place in line" feature. Benches to sit and wait - one outside and three inside. We were 4th in line, and then 2nd, and then 1st. I felt a vibration from the phone but saw no message. So I went to the desk to check, and they were ready anyhow with 4 empty tables. Seated us quickly and our waitress Ashley was there in short time. Paula (wifey) ordered some Egg Sandwich and a small order of French Toast. I ordered Southern Benedict, which was a buttermilk biscuits base, topped with a fried chicken patty, 2 poached eggs, and smothered in a creamy sausage gravy, and it came with an order of home fries. We were both very happy with the flavor and portions. In fact I was rather full and didn't eat the last 3 or 4 bites. I also had an iced coffee, which was nice and strong. The place is very much where neighbors and families meet and greet. Lot's of "Norm!!" moments. Pricing if fairly average -- it was (with a 20% tip) $45 for us two. My only complaint had nothing to do with the restaurant, but with adults who don't know how to tell a kid not to do shrill whistling in a restaurant. No more details on that. Again, not the restaurant's fault. We definitely would like to go there again, especially to order some bacon, as that, in my estimation, is a very important factor for breakfast -- I just didn't have any reason for it this time, what with the chicken and the sausage gravy.

Much more tasteful than those egg muffins that one can purchase elsewhere at those widespread coffee shops. My partner had a #7 with a side of bacon including 2 eggs scrambled, 2 bacon slices, home fries, 2 pieces of toast and 2 thick tasty plain pancakes of which I had one. I don't usually have plain pancakes but these were very tasty and fluffy. Both of our coffees, hot and iced, came with free refills. We wished the staff a great vacation and left, knowing that this is our new "goto" breakfast restaurant.

I am tempted to give it 1 star, but since I have only been there once, I'll do 2. Overall service was not good and food was terrible. The bottle of wine I ordered came back with the wrong vintage. I asked them to look again and behold there was one in the year I expected (the one on on the wine menu as well as a much better vintage). It took 3 requests to finally get a glass of water. We ordered the sticky wings which were just OK as the meat was overdone, but the sauce was tasty. My date ordered the chicken parm. Chicken was quite thin, over cook and they put cream in their sauce which made it taste more like a Bolognese sauce then a red pasta sauce. What a shame. I ordered their special 16oz bone in rib eye. Cooked correctly, but thin, fatty and completely overpowered by the massive pile of onions on top. It was difficult to know what was underneath. Lastly, because I spoke with manager and the waiter about the disappointment, they bought us a dessert - their homemade apple tarte. I am completely amazed at how much they could screw this up. Basically, they cored out an apple, wrapped it in dough, and baked it. Very little sugar or cinnamon. the best part was the ice cream. It tasted like a raw apple with cooked dough on it. The apple was not cooked, there were no seasonings. Since I was there to listen and dance to a very popular and excellent RI based musician and to sample their food, I was then again surprised when the staff filled in the dance floor with tables. This was after people had started dancing. After several comments I made, they moved the tables away so people could dance. As I have been to many restaurant in RI, this place failed in every way possible. Service was barely acceptable and food was beyond disappointing. Their prices do not reflect the reality of their bad service and food. Do not go to this place as there are dozens, if not hundreds, of better restaurants in RI. read more

haven't been on Yelp in a while and was glad to see a review that wrote in November of last year was waiting for me to approve on my computer as I has written it on my phone...here goes nothing: I've been here a few times and loved the sushi plate and the French onion soup, especially now that's its getting colder. The atmosphere is modern with a nod to the past and the manufacturing background that inspired the name. Today I stopped in for lunch and was served by a waiter who was disinterested in doing his job. This is the exception and not the rule for me so far but it has to be noted. I had ordered an eggplant pannini sandwich which when I had bitten into it was literally as cold as a cold cut sandwich. I asked a waitress (not my server) to please bring it back and bring another. Another server returned and brought it back 5 mins later. When I picked up the sandwich I noticed all that was done was the sandwich that I already had bitten into was just put on the grill and handed back to me. When I mentioned this to the waiter he said in a very aggressive voice "what do you want me to do?" I told him I thought that the kitchen would have made another as its a Pannini and would need to be put into a press. He told me it was the last one for the day and that they're all made early in the day and not made fresh! A place that charges prices such as the Iron Works does I would expect a fresh sandwich and better service! Iron Works has been two great experiences for me and one horrible experience. Do yourselves a favor and either retrain this waiter and the cook who worked today (11/7/12) or get rid of them as its putting a black mark on an otherwise great place. I only give two stars due to the other good experiences I've had here and this bad one overshadowing the others. read more

I am a regular at Iron Works since my job is right down the road, and it's easily one of my favorite local spots. That said, the experience really depends on who is working that day. The Good: Outstanding Hospitality: The older owner/manager is absolute gold. He takes the time to check on every single table and every patron sitting at the bar. He makes you feel genuinely valued and reminds you why supporting local business is worth every penny. Bar Staff Top-Tier: The older gentleman behind the bar is phenomenal. No matter how packed the bar gets, he is on top of his game--attentive, friendly, and never forgets about a customer. Where It Falls Short: Inconsistent Management: Unfortunately, the experience drops when the other manager is on shift. He seems to selectively check in on "business diners" or patrons who look high-end, while ignoring regulars in standard work attire grabbing lunch at the bar. It's pretty disheartening to sit right there as a loyal customer and be overlooked. Bar Service Disparity: The female bartender is fine, but service drops off significantly with her--long stretches without check-ins, and rarely a follow-up to ask if the food came out right. Overall: I truly love Iron Works and will keep coming back for the great food and my favorite staff members, but I really hope management works on bringing that warm, consistent attention to every guest on every shift--not just when certain people are working or for certain types of diners. read more

We had a mixed experience during our recent visit. The interior of the restaurant is beautifully designed, creating a welcoming and stylish atmosphere, and there is also a small outdoor seating area which adds a nice touch. Our server, Briana, provided excellent service from the start. She offered thoughtful drink recommendations, and both the cocktails and our appetizer were absolutely delicious. However, we did experience a significant delay with our entrées. It appeared that a table seated after us received the same dishes we had ordered well before ours arrived, which was disappointing. Despite this, the initial service and ambiance left a positive impression. We're open to giving this place another try, as the early part of our experience showed great potential. I rarely have anything to say about a server but Chuck was excellent. Well beyond our expectations. The clam chowder was very good. The Boarded Chicken was fantastic, the vegetables were "heaven". The Scallop risotto was perfectly done, "Rivaling Gordon Ramsey". If you can't get into Gordon's place then go here for the risotto and scallops. It's close enough. I read a review from someone else regarding the short ribs. He said the meat was cooked perfectly and very tender but he didn't care for the flavor. I do understand what he meant now after ordering it. My opinion also is that it was cooked to perfection but it is definitely an acquired taste. Stayed at the adjoining Hilton Garden Inn and decided to try this place out...bad idea. I walked in at 6pm and there may have been 20% of the tables seated. I had no reservation ( on a Tuesday evening..gasp) and was told the only tables available to me were basically "2 tops" in the service aisle..I might as well have been working for them. Attila the hun (er..the fake hair older woman handling this exchange) was adamant that the only table I could have was one level elevated from the dog food bowls. What a joke. Go to "Legal Seafood", yes a chain but more worthy of your traveler dollars. I travel all over the US every week, the last thing I want to do is deal with fake food/hosts. read more

What can I say about Ironworks? Well, it's got a great ambiance and decor, warm and comfortable and the bar area is nice for a quick work lunch or drinks after pushing paper all day...if you can get a seat. The lunch menu is usually very satisfying with good size portions and quick, attentive service. On weekends the bar has live music, usually just a duo playing some background music that isn't too loud. Once again,it gets pretty busy so you may have to settle for a table in the dining area. I go back from time to time but if I were in the area more, I think you'd see me there more frequently. read more

Would have liked to try the food. Unfortunately, we had a reservation and the place was relatively empty. We were seated and waited for 15 minutes. While we waited 2 other tables were seated and had been served drinks. We were patient but it would appear that we were persona non grata. We then left, found another restaurant that evening. Note to Ironworks, staff training is very important. Perhaps one of the things you should include is not to ignore guests. We had been pretty consistent customers in the past, no longer. read more

It was tasty but service was slow and the prices were a little steep for what you get. The ambiance was nice as was the decor. They did a very nice job converting an old mill into a trendy looking pub. I enjoyed it but the service did put me off a little. I suggest the meatloaf, very delicious. Avoid the weekend, it gets crowded and the live music makes it challenging to have a conversation. The location is super convenient, easy on and off the highway. We had a disappointing experience during our visit. My dad chose to pay the bill online, as the restaurant offered both online and in-person payment options. After completing the payment, he stepped out to the car to put our leftovers away. When we walked back inside the hotel, we overheard our server talking to the front desk, claiming he hadn't paid. Iron Works is a carnivore's paradise! The pastrami sandwich is so massive; it's like they're trying to set a world record for the most meat in one meal. My husband and I dined at the Iron Works Tavern on August 10,2019. This was our first visit since the change in ownership and it will be our last. The service was slow and sloppy, the waitress spilled my drink and never cleaned it up. The food was mediocre at best. Not a good experience. read more

You sign them out like they're on a hall pass…read more My mother's name. My father's name. Date. Time. Where we're going. Lunch. That's the whole reason, written in a box probably designed for doctor's appointments. Then I walk the two people who raised me out to the car and drive them to a restaurant they've probably eaten at many times before any of us needed permission to go anywhere. They just can't remember the last time they were there. We went to the Greenwood Inn. There are restaurants that spend a lot of money trying to look retro and cool. Greenwood doesn't have to. The place has been feeding travelers and locals in one form or another for nearly 300 years. It was once a stagecoach stop. When the Stonington Railroad came through in 1837, it became a railroad station. Later it was a saloon with a reputation for fights and rowdy crowds. Then Henry and Norma Papa took over in the 1950s and began turning it into the family restaurant Warwick knows now. The Papa family is still running it, three generations later. The room looks like it has lived some of that history. Dark wood. Big exposed beams crossing a high white ceiling. Old-fashioned lanterns hanging between them. Green leather booths. White tablecloths covered with brown paper. A massive stone wall cutting through part of the dining room. TVs over the bar showing golf. Nothing about it feels designed for 2026. Good. Then you open the menu. Calling it large doesn't quite explain it. Steaks and chops. Fried seafood. Italian dishes. Burgers. Sandwiches. Wraps. Homemade chicken soup every day. Senior and children's menus. Sixteen beers on tap. An extensive wine list. Greenwood describes itself as American, Italian and seafood, which sounds less like a concept than three restaurants agreeing to share a kitchen. Mom got a meatball sandwich. Dad got a BLT with bacon crisp enough that you could hear it break. I got the chicken parm sandwich. And because I help run RI: The Pizza State, I ordered a pizza. "Research." At least that's what I told my parents, anyway. Half cheese. Half pepperoni. It arrived on one of those raised metal stands, looking slightly ridiculous in the middle of a table already covered with sandwiches and fries. Greenwood Inn has almost every excuse imaginable to make mediocre pizza. Pizza isn't the identity of this place. It isn't even close. With a menu this big, they could put some sauce and cheese on perfectly serviceable dough, bake it until everything melted and call it done. Instead, somebody back there knows how to make pizza. The crust is hand tossed. It rises unevenly around the perimeter, with bubbles and little folds where somebody actually handled the dough. The rim is light inside and browned outside, with enough substance that nobody is going to mistake this for a New York slice. The sauce has body and plenty of garlic. The cheese melts into it instead of sitting in a heavy layer on top. The pepperoni curls into cups, darkens at the edges and brings a little spice. Then I turned a slice over. That was the moment. Look at that bottom. Deep brown almost from edge to edge. Darker in spots. A dusting of flour or semolina still hanging on. No pale center. No soft patch where the oven never quite got there. They pushed the bake. And they nailed it. The bottom had real crunch while the dough above it stayed chewy. This isn't some pizza obsessive's shop with a special oven and a seventy-two-hour dough program printed on the menu. It's the Greenwood Inn. Pizza could easily be the twentieth thing this kitchen does reasonably well. Instead, it's quite good. Maybe that's what impressed me most. Nobody needed this pizza to be this good. The restaurant has been around for generations. The dining room was busy. My parents were quite happy with their sandwiches. Pizza is one small part of a menu that barely seems to end. But somebody in that kitchen looked at that crust and knew it wasn't ready yet. Somebody cared about the bottom. They didn't have to. They did anyway. Eventually the research ended, which is another way of saying I ate more pizza than anyone who had already finished a chicken parm sandwich had any business eating. Then I drove my parents back. For most of my life, they were the people taking me places to eat. Now I get to take them. I don't know how many more lunches like this we'll get. None of us knows those things while they're happening. So I took the pictures. I'm glad the pizza was good. But that's not why I'll remember it.

My daughter, a culinary student, got shrimp scampi, she said that it was OK, but the coleslaw she ordered on the side was the worst she'd ever had. My daughter's boyfriend got the prime rib special, he said it was not at all good and his mashed potatoes reminded him of instant potatoes. Literally everything we ordered except the prime rib, appeared to have been previously frozen and was simply heated up and served.. With that being said, the restaurant was nice and appeared clean, the bathrooms were spotless and the service was excellent, the menu was very large, perhaps too many choices? Unfortunately, the food was subpar and reminded us of food related issues encountered on the popular TV show Kitchen Nightmares. We expected much better food based on previous reviews, the nice atmosphere and the excellent service.

The lobster itself was delicious but the whole thing needed salt badly, including the coleslaw which was had way too much mayo.
