I was not sure what to expect since I've only been to one dentist my whole life which was around the area I grew up in and have been skeptical about moving to a different practice since I had a good experience previously and care a lot about my teeth and smile. After walking into the office, I was immediately impressed by the high tech and modern feel of the office. The receptionist was very friendly and I was taken care of promptly at my appointment time. My hygienist Kenneth was very helpful and good at his job and made the overall experience very easy and enjoyable. I will definitely be coming back while I am in the area and would recommend others to do the same if they are looking to make that switch or need a change in practice as well. I have had my horror stories about other dental offices before but Irvine Modern Dentistry is a lead example of how a dental office should be ran and how it should look. It's embarrassing to admit that I had severe dentist/white coat phobia. I started coming in 2020 after many years of not receiving the appropriate dental health. Of course I needed many dental interventions, however I cannot express my gratitude with Hygenist, Wendy, & Dr. Tsang. The previous dentistry I had gone to didn't tell me I had health concerns, rather they told me about the cosmetic arrangements that "needed" to be done. In less than 6 months with insurance coverage I had paid over $5k out of pocket. However at Irvine Modern Dentistry they've seen me with insurance and without. During the time my insurance was active I didn't have to pay much other than my low deductibles. On the other hand they have a low cost insurance program for under $30 monthly that provides me with preventative health benefits such as cleanings and emergency procedures! Wendy is EXTREMELY gentle, patient, and empathetic. She truly cares about one's dental hygiene and health. Same goes for Dr. Tsang, he has been EXTREMELY supportive, comforting, and above all informative regarding all the dental procedures that need to be done. Such as getting all my wisdom teeth removed and a very much needed root canal. When I first was referred to Irvine Modern Dentistry, it was during the height of covid. I've been going to Irvine Mordern Dentistry for at least 6 years. Dr.Tsang and his team are professional, kind and easy to talk with. Lucky I don't have any major tooth problem, just regular checkups. I had one old fill that need to work on and Dr Tsang did very good job. They have strict rule for appointment which I have no problem with because I hardly ever cancel or didn't show for my appointment. I have moved out of Irvine due to work but I still come back to see him. They checked my insurance and got back to me the next day, scheduled me within a week, and got me in for back to back cleaning, X-ray, and work to fix a filling. I have not had a lot of good experiences growing up and so I have anxiety when I go. When I was living up in the bay area, I chose a place that was really modern and gentle and tech forward. After I moved back down to Southern California and knew I had to find a place that was similar. It is so tech forward, they do same-day crowns, same-day retainers made, modern procedures, modern equipment, great purification system, friendly staff, and honest people. Dr. Tsang and his staff at Irvine Modern Dentistry are remarkable. I have been a patient for over 2 years. One of the reasons why I switched over from a previous dentist was because of a root canal gone bad. After seeing Dr. Tsang, he referred me to an endodontist and oral surgeon where I discovered the constant infections led to bone loss. I decided to go with an implant, which was about a yearlong process. The permanent crown that was made here at Irvine Modern Dentistry fits, feels, and looks perfectly. They also used 3D images from a scanner wand instead of bite impressions, hence modern dentistry. The communication before and after an appointment is excellent. I appreciate the appointment reminders and upfront estimates of costs for procedures. When it comes to routine cleaning, the dental hygienists and assistants are thorough and gentle. Dr. Tsang is patient and takes his time to answer any questions I have. Their services can be pricy even with insurance, but from prior experience, you get what you pay for when it comes to dental work. Phary also does a great job working with dental insurance claims to help minimize out-of-pocket costs. read more

Firstly I would like to say thank you to all the staff at IMD. I felt welcome from the moment I arrived, the lady on the front desk is soooo sweet, seriously, she has amazing interpersonal skills. By the time I left I felt like I had been coming here for years. I had completely forgotten to fill out my paper work, but I was reassured that it was fine, and for the first time in a doctor or dentist office I actually felt like it was okay. I hate the feeling of inconveniencing people, but I felt no guilt thanks to their professionalism. Ken offered me a tour (which I declined) and took me back to a private area for my X-rays and cleaning. I have never ever had a non-painful xray at a dentists office. But this was an incredible change, no pain and the results are VERY detailed, more detailed than I've ever seen. Their AI system is truly fascinating, and I feel much more knowledgeable about what's going on in my mouth. Ken has impeccable bedside manner. He is friendly and warm. We chatted a little, about our pets and the excitement of visiting Texas. It was never too personal, just enough to make me feel comfortable. The teeth cleaning was soooo good I kept falling into a meditative state. He does everything he can to ensure my head is not moved around too much. I appreciated his care and quality of work. Absolutely love the staff. I've been going to Irvine Modern Dentistry for about 13 years. The place is extremely clean and well kept (looks basically the same as it did when it was a brand new office + some really fun upgrades). I absolutely love that even though it's an "open area" with multiple chairs and technicians, the way the office is set up, you get your private space which I really appreciate. I've never fully understood why dentists offices need to look like hair salons with all of the chairs set up right next to each other. Everyone is great. They care about you as a person and won't treat you like just another number. Great bedside manners and care from anyone in the staff and they're amazing at making sure you get a great service without attempting to overcharge or sneak in "necessary" procedures just so they can get more money out of you. If you're in need of finding a welcoming, honest, and caring dentist and staff look no further! I always used to push off going to the dentist because it's hard finding one you can trust. After looking up several dentist in the area I chose to check out Irvine Modern Dentistry. The first day I was greeted kindly by the receptionist and hygienist/assistant where she gave me a quick tour of the facility. I had a few problematic areas that caused me weeks of pain +headaches that was quickly resolved after treatment. I was given a treatment plan where we take care of areas that needed more immediate assistance to areas that we can treat in the future. I felt at ease and in good hands throughout my appointment and the following appointments. What I truly appreciated was when my temporary crown fell off from flossing too hard on the weekend. I notified them and expected to be seen Monday (EARLIEST), but to my surprise they suggested I come in on Sunday. Who wants to work on a Sunday for a patient that could have waited the following work day? This is when I knew that they really cared about their patients. Finding a good dentist (you can also trust) often is a challenge. Previously, I went to one in Rancho Santa Margarita on the recommendation by a coworker. What I liked about her was her brutal honesty and only performing NECESSARY work (rather than finding things to make money off), but she had retired about 3 years ago. Finding one closer to home was difficult as most were booked for months and months or no longer accepted new patients. Then I came across this dental office that agreed to see me. It was to be my first time having a check-up after 4 years since COVID-19 started, and I had some discomfort to get evaluated. I knew that my teeth and gum were not in their top shape. EXPLAINING PROCEDURES AND TREATMENTS My hygienist was (and still is) Wendy. First, after going through her inspection, she explained the methodology and terminology of what she was looking for and what she found, but more importantly, what I needed to get done (and to do on my own) to get my teeth and gum back in shape. It was the first time where I finally understood what dentists were citing during check-ups (the jargon and numbers), and that gave me a baseline of my mouth's state. I paid particular attention to the numbered measurements of my gum. Then came Dr. Jerome Tsang, looked over my results, and -- to my surprise -- he did not ask to have a lot of work done. He explained why. He wanted to take a conservative approach and not unnecessarily escalate from the get-go without trying milder remedies first. Over several treatments, my gum got considerably better, and because Wendy had previously explained dental details and signs to look for, I finally saw and UNDERSTOOD how much better my mouth got simply by hearing her read out the measurements of my gum. CONSERVATIVE TREATMENT On another visit, I had some discomfort in one of my teeth that felt like it had a cavity or hole. Dr. Tsang looked at it, performed some tests, and said that nothing needed to be done and to check again a few weeks later after he cleaned out the area and applied some sealant. Came back, he looked at it again, confirmed that a root canal or filling was not necessary, and all was well. Sometimes, you have to wonder whether a dentist's prescribed treatment really is necessary. Dr. Tsang explains why something is needed, but that he would try less invasive treatments first before escalating. A proposed treatment plan is also provided with a cost estimate, then they get the final numbers from the insurance and inform you before proceeding with the work. STAFF The staff probably is one of the best part of the office. Friendly, personal, and caring. Phary, the receptionist, and my hygienist, Wendy, had been very warm and friendly. I always came feeling like family or good friends. The staff seemed to genuinely care for one another and helped one another out wherever help was needed. OFFICE The office looked clean and modern. Overall, I had positive experiences with this office and look forward to being a patient for years or decades to come. The only bad thing I dislike is that they do not take Medi-Cal -- so, my parents and mother-in-law unfortunately cannot be seen. I like that Dr. Tsang is conservative, explains everything (I requested this during patient onboarding), and treats me (his staff included) like a friend or family. From what I also saw, he treats his staff very well. A good boss makes happy workers, and in turn makes for good customer service. read more

Spectacular service every time. Dr. Tsang and his team always go above and beyond every 6 months for my general cleaning. He's been my dentist since 2018 and every time I come, he does an excellent job explaining all of his procedures in a way that's easy to understand. He's done crowns for me, root canals, fillers, u name it. All of his assistants are also very nice, social, and do a great job with when it comes to helping Dr. Tsang or doing the general cleaning.
