My wheel kept pulling to one side when driving and those other places told me that was the best they could do. Really sucks having paid them for nothing. Someone told me to try Island Brake & Alignment and so glad I gave them a shot. The guys here are highly skilled and know what they're doing. The technician took the time to drive my vehicle on the road several times to make sure he adjusted it properly. I came in on Monday 04/16/2018 to have my brakes replaced. I bought my car brand new in 2011 and I've been running my brakes into the ground so I had both rear and front replaced. I came in dropped it off, they called me gave me an estimate of costs, repairs, and time frame. I picked it up by the estimated completion time and was on my merry way. This is a great place to come to get your brakes or alignment done. The staff is amazing, knowledgeable, detailed and they are outstanding with the level of professionalism and efficiency!! BEST ALIGNMENT SHOP IN OAHU. I went to at least 5 different alignment shops for all my cars. Everyone else I personally have been to took hours, and try to upcharge for something on my car that was failing. But not Island B&A! They were ON TIME, efficient, VERY friendly and I was back on my way to work. I came in, the front desk was very nice! She told me what was wrong with my car and why it couldn't align 100% and relayed tips from the mechanics what to fix and replace while they were beneath the car. What made this alignment shop different than the rest is they didn't upcharge me for my fault on maintenance which caused the alignment to be slightly off from perfect. I was ready to pay the $110 but they said because they were not able to complete the job all the way they charged me a two wheel alignment and got me close to straight as possible!! Now that's how service should be done! When I replace my steering knuckle I am DEFINITELY coming back and recommending my tuner friends. 5/5 stars from me. Island Brake and Alignment was recommended by a friend. Been paying Lex Brodie's almost double of what this place charge (my truck has a lift). Checked in at 830am. Told the guy at the counter if I could pick up my truck at around noon. He said it will be done by then. Calls me at 1030am, truck done. Shootz! When I picked up my truck, the young lady at the counter told me the mechanics had recommended replacing worn bushings. Good to know. But when I was driving away, the guy wearing the Aloha shirt (might be the owner) that checked me in, stopped me to tell me himself the same problem. And said to come back to them if my truck gets misaligned after the repair. EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. I will be recommending this place to other's and they just got a repeat customer. read more

Went there because front brakes were starting to squeal. Typical only drive around town, and vehicle is only 4 years old. The guy tried to get me to get a full front brake job to include rotors which was in excess of $800. Horse poop! Not stupid... simply went to Lex Brodie's right down the street by Pearlridge and paid only $360 for lifetime brake service and replacement pads. This manager at island brakes must have not had a good night sleep that night. Totally wasted my time but giving it two stars instead of one star because he at least put my vehicle up on the rack. But he should not be providing bad quotes for full brake service and rotor replacement if only the pads are squealing and only need to be replaced. Go to Lex Brodie's not Island Brakes. The staff is professional and quick, and thoroughly communicate with you the issues with your vehicle prior to service. I've used them several times, most recently with my truck brakes. I got my truck back within a day, good as new. The cost for service has always been reasonable, and you get the sense that they charge you the exact prices for the service, parts, and labor, without unnecessary markups like some of the bigger "chain/franchise" shops. This is not my first review of this place, but I believe in giving credit when credit is due, and also that you should express gratitude immediately. I took my Toyota Tacoma truck in today for an alignment. I purchased new tires last week, and the previous tires had some inside tread wear. I thought I would need a full alignment but according to Derrick they just needed to adjust the camber. Instead of the normal $150 charge for alignment, he only charged me $100. What I like about Island Brake and Alignment is that they only fix what really needs to be fixed. I can count countless times when I brought my vehicle in and wasn't charged anything because Derrick determined that there wasn't anything that needed to be fixed. I always feel appreciated and valued when I bring in my vehicle. Derrick's humble and soft spoken demeanor extends to his hard working crew as well. Today I took my car to Island Brake and Alignment as the other popular wheel alignment company didn't take any reservations. Derrick was very professional and when I called to make an appointment and also gave me a price quote for the work which is listed on their wall also. When I arrived at my appointment time he took me right in. Their repair garage looked clean and organized. My wait time for the wheel alignment service to be completed was about 1/2 hour. The mechanic who worked on my car took 2 test drives after making some fine wheel adjustments and all is rolling smooth now. The owner also told me that since I recently purchased my new tires from Costco, they will honor the free Costco tire rotation at every 5,000 miles and bill Costco as they have an account with them. I prefer this method better rather than hanging out for 1-2 hours at Costco and buying things I don't necessarily need. So far, I am liking this company to handle my car repairs now and in the future, I also made another appointment today to get my oil changed and fluids checked for next week. I feel this is how all local auto repair shops should be run as their prices are competitive but they offer great customer service. I'm thinking of bringing in my wife's car too for her next oil changed as I am getting too old to do these simple task. Glad I found them on Yelp. Great customer service, easy scheduling and they kept me updated through the process. Called ahead of time as I had a camber issues and had purchased parts for the front and rear to correct. Over the phone they asked a few questions to make sure I had the right setup to do the correction without causing more issues. They were able to install without any issues, took a little longer than expected but it was my parts which took so much time to adjust. Basically they needed to take the part off to adjust each time to set everything to spec. Prices are very reasonable considering the effort for my particular vehicle and adjustable parts. read more

If you need recon or have a lowered/lifted car, Island Brake & Alignment is the place to come to get your alignment. When I installed coilovers and new rims/tires (wider than factory), I came to get an alignment. Here in Hawaii, people really care about their cars (my cousin from the mainland says, our cars define us, because we all can't afford a house). After buying a new pair of Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, I figured why not get an alignment so they wear evenly. Island Brake & Alignment is located across from Waimalu Shopping Center (Jackie's, Jin Joo, Chun Wah Kam, Zippy's, Kapiolani Coffee Shop, too many to list!) and Ewa of Best Buy. It's the last tenant in the center and parking can be tight. Make an appointment to ensure you will be seen; however, I have called the morning of and they have taken me. It's a little more expensive than other places but I like how they give you the computerized printout of the results of your alignment so you can give the recon inspector to show it is within specs. If you are particular and want certain camber or toe in/toe out for those who do SCCA autocross like I have done, they will do it per your specs (although this can wear your tires abnormally).
