I chose this shop because of their excellent reviews, and after my experience, I completely understand why. I recently had body work done here, and about a month later I noticed a splash guard underneath my car had come loose and was dragging on the ground. Since this is my only vehicle, I called the shop and they got me in within 30 minutes for a warranty inspection. I especially want to recognize the technician Elmer who helped me today. He was one of the nicest and most helpful guys I've met. He didn't just tell me what he found, he actually brought me into the shop, showed me the impact damage underneath my car, answered all of my questions, and let me take photos. I really appreciated how transparent and patient he was. He even took the time to talk story with me for a few minutes after the repair was done. He told me him and his wife rescue animals. How can you not love that!? Even though they determined the damage was caused by an impact, they reattached the splash guard at no charge and made sure my car was safe to drive home. Everyone from the office staff to the estimators have been wonderful throughout my whole experience with this shop, but Elmer really stood out for his excellent customer service and overall respectfulness and kind demeanor. The dealership for my car recommended this shop because they "specialize in VW repairs." This place is a joke. I only needed my door replaced and worked with it through insurance. Instead of sending all the repair payment requests at once, they send it in spurts to prolong the storage of my car. My car was drive-able, but they needed it to stay at the shop for repairs while they wait for parts to come in? Who sends 5 plus payment requests and blames the insurance that they only receive partial payments? My insurance sent me the requests and they paid it out exactly as requested. I've had to call for updates on my car, and most times they don't even call back!! Now that my rental coverage is coming to an end, they are saying they cannot release my car until my insurance sends the final payment? Another payment request? Seriously? Even my insurance asked me why they got so many requests instead of one request. Don't tell me that you run into realizing you needed another part for this and that when you specialize in the repairs of this make...shouldn't you already know what parts are needed? Looking at the pic I provided, replacing my door cost my insurance almost 10k! Whatever you do, do not give this shop your business! read more

(My apologies to Island Fender. This review should have gone out years ago. Just today I realized I had saved it as a draft, and never sent it. I thought it'd be better late than never. Sorry!) After State Farm had offered low amount for repairing my badly damaged VW, I refused the check and searched for a repair shop estimate. The only place I found that was certified to work on the VW MQB chassis was Island Fender. It took them just a couple to days to look into the extent of the damage, and it turned out to be significant. So much so that State Farm declared it at a total loss, and with some back and forth, the gave me a pretty reasonable settlement. Everyone I dealt with at Island Fender was absolutely fantastic. Someone had hit my car and I chose this place because it was a company that worked closely with the other person's insurance - I was a little hesitant since I originally wanted to go with someone that my friends recommended but this was easiest. Everything was so organized, I got text updates and my car was finished earlier than expected. Also... they did find other damages that were optional to fix and I opted to fix 1 of the 2 things they found-- I want to add that when we were discussing this, they were honest about it and also I didn't feel pressured at all into fixing any of them. I went through my insurance for my repair from a car theft where there was a bit of damage on the front left side of the bumper and island fender was able to schedule my fix asap when the parts came in. After many years but very low mileage on a Mercedes E320 I took it in to Island fender to fix some corrosion spots on the roof - front windscreen trim, and minor damage to the left rear wheel fender housing and the rear bumper. Their estimate was solid and the work terrific. By the look of the number of mercedes and other better automobiles in their facility their reputation is known. Thomas their primary estimator is very pleasant and professional to work with as well as their office staff. I highly recommend them for all of your auto body work. Took our vehicle to Island Fender. Challenging to schedule a time to bring it in for repairs, were unable to give an approximate time frame for parts arrival. When parts did arrive, we were expected to bring it in the very next day or wait weeks for another appointment. When we did pick it up, the door on our van would not stay open (kept sliding closed and almost hit my kids), plus the door was clearly not aligned correctly. Multiple trips back and forth to have them try and rectify the door alignment problem. Multiple times being told the vehicle was "ready" when the issue had not been resolved. Finally they did resolve and they were very understanding and apologetic however never should have needed to return additional times. Hours are inconvenient for working people. Can't drop off before 8:00 AM which means getting to work late. They call at 4:00 PM saying i have to pick up prior to 4:30 which means i'd have to run out of work early, and somehow get there before 4:30. They do not provide vehicle drop-offs and they never offered a loaner car. Work overall seems to be quality but they need to go further in getting the details right and understanding the needs of their customers. read more

We were referred to Island Fender to repair damages (bumper) to our Honda Pilot. In our phone conversations, estimates, drop offs, pick ups, etc. everyone we interacted with was courteous and professional. Communication was also clear and efficient. Every step was explained thoroughly and we were updated regularly on the progress of our repair. The office/waiting area was very nice - actually looked more like a doctor or dentist office instead of an auto shop/garage: air conditioned; clean; organized; chocolates in a dish; even a little fountain on the counter. Definitely was not expecting this. Bonus: We were able to get a rental from Enterprise for the time that our truck was in the shop. A shuttle picked you up at Island Fender and brought you to Enterprise. Vice versa on the return. Very convenient. Great experience through and through. The car broken into electronically. Took the car to Island Fender because it was on my insurance co. recommended list and the positive reviews from Yelp members. Was not disappointed!!! I highly recommend Thomas and his crew for body work and repair needs. It's like I'm driving a brand spanking new Scion Xb! The body is pristine, the damaged back wheel was replaced w/ a brand new tire and rim & everything aligned, the electronics was checked out and the interior detailed. I had a major dent over my right rear fender of my car and my insurance (USAA) referred me to this company. I dropped off my car on the 21st of December with an estimate completion date to be the 8th of January. The past couple weeks, the agent kept me posted with the status of my vehicle via email. One email stated that the car would be ready by the 4th. The following email suggested the 2nd. In addition, I received phone calls about when to pick up my car. And when I called, they were courteous and quick to answer my questions. With the advances of dates, I was a little nervous about the quality of work. When I picked up my car this morning, I had no disappointments but admiration towards the work. The company repaired the dent, and buffed and blended the paint well with the rest of my car. Finally, the ladies at the front desk explained the warranty of the car work, and there were no hassles with the payment transactions with my insurance and my deposit. I have never been so satisfied with a car shop. Usually something always comes up such as delays, lack of customer service, or extra fees. Last June, I put my car in a different car shop, I experienced extremely bad customer service and my car coming back with more problems than it had before made me so upset. Island Fender finished earlier than expected and always updated me on the status of my vehicle via phone call/text. Everything a customer wants was provided. This was furthest place from my house but it was worth it. They replaced my bumper, updated my safety sticker to one full year, and they detailed my car. Not sure if it's appropriate to review a service I didn't use but I wanted to review the process of asking for an estimate. I probably was going to use them, because of their convenient location to my apartment, until the person in the office advised me that if they do an estimate I would be obligated to have my repairs done there. Those words just turned me off. I really need my car repaired because it wont pass safety inspection with the front light turning signal not operating. Island Fender said " I apologize but we're not taking in any repairs of this type." What type...where the insurance company provided an estimate and fair price and you want to charge more than what the insurance quoted? Wow. I noticed other low reviews were due to going through insurance as well. If you want an HONEST charge for work done, dont go here. One weekend, a friend hit my brand-new minivan in our garage. It still had the paper plates. The very next day, my new plates came in, and a young girl hit it while it was parked on the side of the street. I contacted several body shops for estimates, and Island Fender was the only one to return my call. I'm so glad they did. Thomas was helpful throughout the whole process. He tested out the damage from both incidents to get a feel for what type of work might need to be done. He explained the process that Island Fender uses to fix these things, and I was incredibly confident in their work. He told me about how they do not simply paint over the spot. Instead, they take their time and take the pieces apart to paint the entire panel. I had to work with the young girl's insurance for her part of the damage, and Island Fender helped greatly along the way. They kept in contact with me throughout and even told me just what to expect from the insurance company. Because I always had my baby with me, they knew that it was hard for me to get around. Thomas gave me some advice to streamline the process with the insurance company, and it worked great. Once the repair was over, I was completely satisfied with their work. My van looked brand new again. Soon after, I got into another minder fender bender. I returned to Island Fender, because I knew I could trust them and their work. During the consult, Thomas cleaned up the scratches to assess what we were working with. He did such a great job cleaning it up that the scratches disappeared completely. He did not even charge me for doing this! I was prepared for a large bill and long process, but after just a 10 minute visit (and at no cost!) my car was good as new and ready to go. I was in 2 minor accidents late last year, and went to Island Fender both times. They worked directly with my insurance (USAA) so I only had to pay the deductible. They have a friendly staff and do quality work done in a timely manner. Both times it took about 3 days to get all the parts, then 3 days of cruising in a rental car while the work was done. This was acceptable, as parts had to be removed from my car to be re-painted, which takes a long time. The first time I went there was an accidental overcharge that they caught and refunded to me without any action on my part. If I ever have body shop needs, these are the guys I'm going to. read more

If I had a time machine, I would have avoided this place like a plague, but the name, "Island Fender" sounded so...relaxing. My vehicle, a 2012 Toyota Prius was involved in a fender-bender. The accident was pretty severe as the total amount paid by USAA was almost $8000. I would think they handle fender-benders all the time and my car would be a piece of cake, but with my luck--nope. After two months, my bumper started to misaligned. I brought it in and they did not take responsibility for their workmanship. They blamed it on the initial worker, broken washer, the economy, what they ate for lunch that day, the moon phase, what Trump said that day, you get my point. If they just accepted responsibility for their work I would have possibly worked with them again to fix my vehicle once more.
