Island Pacific has been in business for a long time. I am not sure if Seafood City has been in Vallejo longer than Island Pacific or vice versa. This is another place in Vallejo to do your grocery shopping. I have not had been experience at Island Pacific. The people that work there have been helpful. Plenty of parking at this location. It is a big parking lot with other businesses in the area. Island Pacific seems to be bigger than Seafood City and 168 Market. Another Asian Grocery Store that been getting plenty of business in Vallejo. Seem like people in Vallejo have choices to go to Island Pacific or the other two grocery stores in the city. read more

Good customer service for one. My husband approached the counter to pick up cleaned fish. One Guy look at him and walk away. I took the ticket and approached the counter with the ticket myself (while NO one is in line) staff just ignored me. One guy helped a woman who came after me then walked back cleaning the fishes. I came here randomly because I was looking for a bakery item that's only sold at Island Pacifics. It's not the biggest store but it was clean and I even came back a week later with my mom to get some shopping done. The bakery next to it is also delicious. Island Pacific is our go to Asian Market in the area. They have a variety of brands to choose from aside from their own branded items. They usually are pretty clean and often have multiple registers open. A plus is the Senior day on Tuesdays. The only thing I think they can improve on is the fish cleaning/frying service. Why don't they announce numbers when it is ready, like at Seafood City. They also don't pay much attention on customers waiting for their fish. One should be weighing and taking requests, while another person is checking what's ready and helping those waiting for their fish to be cleaned/fried. I often observe how some people tend to cut other's who have been waiting patiently. It would also be nice if they had a sink nearby to wash our hands. :) read more

First time visiting this location in Vallejo. I did my YELP check in first before entering the grocery store. There was a coupon saying 38% off purchase just for checking in. I was really happy for the savings. I was going to make Lumpiang Shanghai so got all my ingredients: 3 lbs ground pork 3 Packages O tasty wrappers A very large Carrot Green onions Garlic 1 can waterchesnut And other unrelated items . Upon checking out I showed the cashier my Yelp discount offer and was told "never saw that before " She consulted another cashier / manager, never was aware the store offered such deal. So I was in Vallejo and we made gumbo but forgot okra. We were desperate. Safeway in American Canyon didn't have nor the other Safeway next to In n Out Burger off 80. What is gumbo without okra. Was prepared to cry when I found this Supermarket with its cute little palm tree cash registers. When I walked in, I saw veggies galore and I had hope and then saw freshly pack okra today!!! I got fresh noodles for chow mein or garlic noodles, thai chilis, cilantro, and serrano peppers. This is me grabbing a couple of items no meat! And I reached $85 at the checkout!!! Crazy!! The cashier had the nerve to say their store is cheaper than others! Umm, no, not really! Weird how she even made that comment. Very unprofessional, they don't know any English, always having conversation in their Spanish language. It's not my go to place to do groceries but because my mom needs certain ingredients for Filipino food, I'll bring her here. I've tagged along at times when I decided to buy some calamansi plants for my backyard or if I feel like regressing to snacks from childhood like oishi, yan yan, skyflakes, strawberry sunflower crackers and a cloud 9 candy bar. For this trip I found one of my fave fruits, a star apple, that I haven't had in years. It was frozen but it was close enough where it made my heart happy (would prefer it in its real unfrozen state but I'll have to travel internationally for it unless they have it locally...the quest continues) Also decided to buy our weekly staple of beef liver. My mom got teased because one of the staff asked if we owned a restaurant or an aswang (monster) since we always buy liver. I told my mom, that she should have gone with the aswang story, since it sounds more interesting than saying it's for our pup (who can be a monster at times). The produce is exceptional, on behalf of service i had an encounter with a teen courtesy clerk who was very aggressive and used strong language when she refused to bag my items. She even went as far as to threaten to "meet me outside". Rotten fish! We bought salmon head cutted. When i open it from bag you can tell the bad smell! I soaked it in to rock salt (trying to hide the smell and washed it) i thought i can hide the smell, when it cook since i added with sour mix (sinigang) and vegetable. I tasted the fish and it's really bad! Awful taste! I throw everything away i wasted like 8 to 10lbs that we bought. Smh read more

Wow super upset, and cannot believe this happened. I called last week to find out about the catering which apparently the food is made next door at Phil House and it's unclear if they are part of the store. In any case they said 3 days notice for catering. I went on line yesterday and paid for over $500 worth of food for a party of around 50 people Saturday. I even called to verify they got the order and confirmed if for Saturday. Then suddenly today I get a text that the order has been cancelled. No phone call or anything to tell me why. I tried calling to only be told someone will call me back in 2 minutes and I am still waiting I tried calling back and now it goes to voicemail! This is the stinkiest Asian store I have ever been. The minute you walk thru the door the seafood stench is so, so bad. It smells like really spoiled dead fish or meat. They need to do thorough cleaning in their seafood cooling case, production line or cleaning area the entire, fish, meat, poultry area. I get gag reflex when I visit the store to get veggies. I never buy my meat, seafood or poultry at this store. I go to Seafood City, Ranch 99 or Safeway. It's almost like Island Pacific are not doing there quarterly preventive maintenance of their production line, basin, sewer line...needs to get flushed for sure. read more

My family's go to grocery for Asian food items, Asian ingredients, and Asian cleaning tools, kitchen and cookware. They have a decent fish market and shellfish market. Wish they had disposable food gloves and a sink where one could wash hands with soap and water after handling fresh fish. The fish market cleans your fish or shellfish of choice. It also offers deep frying. The fishmongers ask you how crispy and how much salt, if any. Floors near fish market is often slippery. Meat market has ready cut and sliced packaged meats, or one can ask one of the butchers to package your own choice of meats. Dry good aisles have plentiful Asian brands. Always running out of Brown rice tea. The produce department has a collection of Asian specific vegetables no one can find anywhere else. Been shopping here forever. Will continue to purchase from here, as there is no other Asian market closer to my place. read more

Came by to grab some sriracha.... surprising love this sauce wayyy better than tapitio & all those other hot sauces. seafood area has some great deals AND they fry it for you too. Definitely not a Seafood City or Ranch 99. But it's close to home and the prices are decent. Not the greatest location (considering the reputation of the area), however, the 99 cent store is in the same center , there is a really good Vietnamese Restaurant around the way, and Pinoy Pinay Filipino Fast Food is next door. The store also has a hot food section, which includes a vast selection of filipino desserts. I didn't have a sweet tooth at the time, so I ended up buying the lumpia shanghai instead - 4/$1.20 :). It tasted good btw. The meat and seafood section was neatly organized. The workers were attentive and helpful. I didn't have any problems finding what I needed. The line wasn't long so I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. read more
