I asked for extra jerk sauce on the side but the jerk sauce tasted more like Chinese food sauce. Some kinda tangy. The Mac n cheese was good The collard greens weren't real collard greens. Made my first visit last night. It is in the old Bare Bones location on 355. The space flipped around from Chinese to Burmese. Let's see if we get to enjoy a long term eatery. Walked in to the lounge (bar) area at 6p on Saturday. People sit at about 10 tables with music with a heavy beat playing throughout. Everyone is eating, drinking, and smiling, but not the sort of environment that I wanted for a whole meal. Waitress asked if we wanted lounge or restaurant seating. The restaurant had some dinners but mostly open. I think they them had us served by the lounge bartender. Service was helpful and well intentioned - but I'm being generous in calling it spotty. The menu is full of interesting drinks, apps, and entrees. We started out with apps: jerk wings, jerk shrimp, and buffalo shrimp. The wings were nicely cooked though and full of flavor. Heard the table behind us raving about their Jack Daniels wings. The jerk wings were seasoned and cooked nicely with a cover of mirco-veg. The app star for me was the buffalo shrimp. You get 2 full bites out of each spectacularly fried piece. The breading added texture and held the mild hot sauce flavor. We ordered the curry chicken and curry shrimp entrees. Each entree protein came in a bowl with sauce and a veg mixture of onion, celery, and peppers. When I got too full, figured I'd just finish the last shrimp - that time never seemed to come. There were probably about 10 shrimp in the dish. Mixing the shrimp, veggies, and rice came together for amazing bite after bite. Just as we were finishing at 830p in the dining room a DJ was starting up. Guessing the place really starts moving after dinner hours. The food is very good across the board. Location is convenient and has great parking. The service has to improve (not sure why we sat 10 minutes waiting after we asked for the check and were then told we'd have to walk up to the counter to get it or why we asked to order and she took our app order but them said she'd go pick up a pad to write on but didn't come back for 10 minutes). Island Pride catered my husband's 50th birthday party! The food was absolutely delicious and it was a big hit with my guest. The chef really out did themself. In Addition to the delicious taste of the food, the presentation was amazing! I would definitely use island pride oasis in the future! We came in during happy hour and was shown the drink menu by Tee! She explained the drink specials during happy hour! But my friend knew what he wanted! He ordered jerk chicken with extra sauce, the jerk chicken sliders, garlic mashed potatoes, and the cabbage! They were not familiar with my Yelping ways, so I did not take pictures of their items! LoL! I on the other hand ordered jerk wings, beef patty, and rice and peas! My food was delicious!! Spicy...but delicious! I ordered door dash and had the veggie roti, which was just a pile of veggies in water with no flavor and the roti was stiff and super dry on the side. Beef patty tasted the same as 7 eleven beef patties. Cocoa bread was not fresh and had a weird taste to it I had to throw it out, they also forgot my drink.
