Love Island's, the Westchester location specifically! I do come here quite a bit and I always enjoy the food and atmosphere. Last night was quite different. Service was the best that it could be with our bartender who also doubled as the server (so this is NOT about him at all!) It's about the inconsiderate group of 6-8 ppl who thought that it was fine to stand in the walkway practically at our table for 30-40 mins. Very kid-friendly restaurant with really nice staff. For a burger place, the food felt surprisingly healthier -- we didn't feel super thirsty afterward like you sometimes do. Came here with a good friend and was fortunate enough to get CSA, or customer service all star Jordan. Islands menu is fairly simple and clear cut, so customer service here is always been what makes the place stand out to me. My friend and I both ordered the double stack burger, and had some amazing chicken tenders which was served to order in hot to lead things off. Perfect little late-night happy hour...especially if you're at Dave & Buster's. We popped in here after some arcade time at D&Bs, which is just steps away. Sometimes their restaurant gets packed or you just want a change of pace, and this place is a great alternative. I rarely write reviews but our server Christopher Ryan had the worst attitude. Starting off, he spilled an entire water on one of my family members and didn't apologize but I told him it was OK. No big deal, It was just water. He blamed it on the table being cluttered. Like bro, find a spot where there is room on the table instead of being passive aggressive. Service was slow, but I understand we came on Father's Day so things happen. Second, we would consistently say thank you and he would not respond. He was just completely disengaged. This is our go to Islands location for when we are craving some good burgers! My usual is the Islands Burger, and sometimes I get it with bacon added. Nearly every time we go, we have pretty good service. The ambiance is the typical Islands style decor, and the burgers and fries are consistently very good. If you've never been to Islands, you might be living under a rock. I've been coming too many of their locations for years, and they've never stopped with great food and good times. Normally I go for one of their classic burgers, but today I switched it up and grabbed the Chicken Club Wrap. Grilled chicken, crispy hickory smoked bacon, avocado, jack and cheddar cheese, chopped greens, tomatoes, and ranch, all wrapped in a fresh flour tortilla. You get a side of barbecue sauce for dipping, and it's ridiculously good. The wrap was loaded and everything tasted fresh. The fries were perfectly seasoned too. Not soggy, not overdone, just right. And what made it even better was it's part of a lunch deal for under $12. That's a steal considering how much food you get. Once again, Islands nailed it. As someone who grew up in San Diego, where Islands is based out of, I have had this restaurant countless times growing up. In high school we used to all go here often until Cheesecake Factory replaced it for us, but it also was a frequent stop during college and a lot of my 20s. It's very nostalgic to me and it had been years since I last had Islands but this past weekend we stopped in for lunch and I am happy to report that the flavors taste exactly the same. This location is attached to the Howard Hughes Center and parking is free for the first 90 minutes and then after that it starts to climb. However, you're able to park right next-door in the underground parking so it's not a far walk to the restaurant from your car. Inside of this restaurant is quite large and they have many different seating options and cozy tucked away booths. I love the design on the inside and really feels like a surf and island vibe. Our waitress was very polite and as usual everything that we ordered came out very fast. I will say that one of the downsides is the pricing is quite high for what you get. For a table of two it was about $75 for a cup of soup, two burgers, and two drinks. I think that is what has scared away a lot of people and forced a lot of their locations to close. I was happy to see that the menu had all the classics on it and a few more new ones. As always, I started with the Chicken Tortilla Soup because it's honestly delicious and one version that I really like. It's very hearty and has a lot of chicken in it. For my burger, I chose the Bluenami and added avocado and thought it was great. I usually do the Maui so I wanted to try something different. I'm glad that I ordered it. The fries weren't as good as I remember, but some things are just like that. We also tried their new strawberry cream soda, and I did like it. Wish they would do free refills of it though. Overall, I would recommend if you are looking for a place with great burgers and a lot of drink options in a casual atmosphere. Just know that the price can be a bit more than you're expecting but overall we had a really nice lunch. read more

I was introduced to the Endless Tortilla Soup 15 years ago and was addicted ever since. This dish is absolutely GOATED. In 2025 it's $13 which is extremely reasonable in times of insane inflation. AYCE soup PLUS they will pack an extra to go. The value is so insane I'm salivating writing this. Also the service is TOP TIER. It's a ton of effort to have to go back and forth refilling people's dishes/drinks and they do an excellent job while being so friendly. What an amazing surprise and releaf that Islands is still so good! I've recently tried spots from my childhood, and they were a crazy letdown. After a long plane ride, my mom and I shared a pipeline burger with the chili on the side. For $18.99, we got a burger for the two of us with a side of fries. The pipeline is a mass of yumminess with fresh lettuce, crisp onions, and sauce. My mom did not want the chili, so we got it on the side, so I scooped a heep on my half of the burger, making each bite even better. The fries come with the skins still on them, and they are extra crispy with some softness in every bite. Had to dip them in ketchup because why not? I have to admit, my first and second experience at this location was horrible but it was a few years ago. Once was at the bar for happy hour and the second was dining in the restaurant, my overall feeling was that they had a horrible manager running the restaurant - I actually requested to speak to a manager and knew right away his incompetence was why they lacked in customer service. I ended up contacting Islands customer support directly, I thought they should be aware of my horrible experience as someone who dines out frequently. The team at islands corporate got back to me right away and since then I have seen drastic improvements on both the service and the food. The last 3 times I've eaten there, the burgers came out better then ever. It could also be that I was there during lunch time vs dinner. The service at the bar during happy hour has also greatly improved. I'm not sure if management has changed, I no longer see the guy I spoke to a few years back. As you can see, I'm a fan of islands and this is the only location close by so I'm very pleased at the improvement I've seen since my initial experiences. I do wish they had validation for parking, I hate having a pay for parking in areas that don't need it - like westchester. When we politely asked for a booth, the staff told us none were available, even though several were visibly open. This is beginning to be our regular takeout place when we can't think of what to eat. And so far, the food has been consistently good. Their hamburgers, which I think is what they're known for, is generous and creatively appealing. Let's see, we've tried their Impossible, Malibu, Bluenami and Kilauea. And we all loved them - my personal favorite is the Malibu. Their fries, that come with it are good and for a little extra we got their truffle fries - which are more like cheese fries than truffle. We've also tried the chop chop salad, which is nice and their Shore bird and Moa Crisp Sandwiches. If you like fried chicken sandwiches, then try the Moa Crisp, it's pretty good. As chains go, Island's is middle of the nice - not much to their ambience - it's pretty generic and their service is efficient. Can't really go wrong going here or ordering out. read more
