Boba Time is top 10 on my boba list and so I am glad this location is so close to our home. Love that this location has a parking lot, it makes it super convenient as parking in LA can be challenging. Every time I've visited I've never had to wait and our drinks always come out fast. Customer service is always friendly. Theres a few indoor tables to enjoy your drinks and restroom is available and is clean. This place is my pick me up treat when I've had a long day. Since there is only a few scant tables inside. I usually take my taro boba to go. Overall, it's a solid place - easy parking, friendly staff, always good drinks, a colorful pastry selection, and a tablet to order on if you don't want to interact. This spot is a nice little cafe, but I think it would be nice to have options for a smaller table inside - a little challenging since it's a small cafe tucked in a small plaza. It offers a variety of flavors of milk teas, teas/coffees/juices, slushies, milkshakes and more. You can also add boba or jellies to the drinks. Everything I've tried so far has been delicious. My favorite is the basic strawberry milk tea with boba on a hot day, it's so refreshing and hits the spot! Their coffee based drinks definitely do the job better than a basic roast from St^rbu(ks, and when you add the coffee jellies you get an additional hit of coffee deliciousness! It has happened to all of us and I can't for the life of me figure out how they do it. However, this time social media worked in my favor. I was scrolling my Facebook feed when I saw an advertisement for the opening of a new business merely steps away from my apartment: It's Boba Time. I love Boba! I did research and immediately texted my friend that we HAVE to go check it out. And that is precisely what we did as our dessert after Sunday dinner... It's Boba Time is a franchisee-chain that starting attacking the Los Angeles region in 2003 focusing on fresh ingredients, mix-ins and boba with over 140 offerings and customizable items. And let me tell you: It's Boba Time isn't playing and is much more than just those little tapioca balls! They offer slushies, Hawaiian ice, smoothies, milkshakes, acai bowls, milk froth teas, tea floats, boba shakes... it seems to go on and on like the Energizer Bunny. I literally became the mind-blown phone emoji when looking at the menu. It is quite overwhelming but in the best way possible; encouraging multiple visits. The new North Hollywood Arts spot is located in a small shopping center at the major intersection of Lankershim/Vineland/Camarillo/Riverside next to a Petco Unleashed. We walked into a brightly-lit square-shaped establishment with white walls, electronic menus and high ceilings. A couple tables were also strewn about with bright orange chairs. Being our first visit to It's Boba Time; we needed a few minutes to look over the menu but finally decided on bevies. I went with a Coconut-Strawberry Milkshake ($5.50) while my friend decided on a Cookies & Cream Milkshake ($5.25) with each of us ordering a macaron each from the display case (rose macaron and pistachio macaron - $3.90 each). It's Boba Time did have quite a few customers for a Sunday night (7:30pm) including Uber Eats drivers but the wait time for our beverages was too long not to mention those who came after us received their orders before us. Despite this, our beverages were presented BEAUTIFULLY with bright colors and inviting blends. But... there were some further problems. I ordered a Coconut Strawberry MILK SHAKE and noticed it was a smoothie and was rung up as a smoothie on the receipt. My receipt also said "no boba" and yet they included boba. Basically: they completely effed up my order. I love boba and didn't feel like being a Karen so I let it go; but my friend said he would have complained so this is certainly an issue management needs to address. Regardless, it was delicious with coconut flavor, strawberry sauce and huge boba balls. My friend's Cookies & Cream milk shake was thick which LARGE chunk of Oreo cookies (not crushed) and tasted absolutely divine. The macarons were also a setback. I am a Macaron expert and elitist (which you know if you follow my reviews). These macarons were quite larger (larger than typical macarons) but $3.90 is still very expensive for a single macaron despite the size. Plus, they weren't that great: the rose flavor was strong but the cookie itself didn't have proper macaron feet or bite (almost seemed stale) and the filling was cheap comparable to canned vanilla frosting. My friend had the exact same to say about the pistachio - strong flavor but cheap cookie. Skip the macs. I am thankful that Facebook showed me It's Boba Time as I DID enjoy the beverages very much and do plan to return. However, service was snail-paced, they completely messed up my order and the macarons are blah so there are definitely areas open for improvement. Again, despite the flaws, I did enjoy the drinks even if incorrect and hence the 4-star rating. Hopefully, during my next visit, they get it right. **Edit: this review is being updated from 4 to 2 stars due to one of the little girl associates; whom I actually complimented in my review (i have deleted it). She proceeded to message me on here asking me to remove the "photo of her placed on social media". The picture is of the menu board and counter with 3 employees in the photo. I've been back four or five times, and the staff have always been friendly and served me quickly and with exactly the preparation of drink that I want. Unlike one of the previous reviews, I found the French macarons very tasty, with a light, crisp outside and soft, chewy inside - very fresh! Also, the flavors were excellent, not artificial. One of the reviews felt the cost was too high. However, you can get them cheaper if you buy a box of six, which is just the right amount to eat a few now and have a few later. Plus, don't you usually get what you pay for? I enjoyed the boba, although I'm not a boba expert. What I am a (self-anointed) expert in is coffee, and Boba Time uses a really high grade of espresso. I talked to the friendly owner, Mike, and he told me it's a well-known brand from Italy (Illy if I remember correctly) Anyway, I now stop at Boba Time for an emergency shot of espresso (actually 2 or 3 shots) on my way to or from home, which they're happy to mix for me with ice and oat milk, my favorite way to drink coffee. I am taking 3 stars off for delay in my drinks. It's very sad to see only two employees working at the front taking orders and making them while 4-5 employees were just standing and sitting in the back. They might be on a break or have not started their shift yet, but it sends wrong message to the customer who's just ordered drinks and now waited 30mins. I tried giving this boba a try because I live so close by but these workers are rude .i place online orders and they either get the order completely wrong or it's melted. I ordered a boba on 2-14-24 around 730 I picked up and when I picked up to my car it was extremely melted im not sure if they're freezers were jacked but I called to let them know I couldn't even drink that boba it's melted so bad for a taro slush with whipped cream. I've written a review before but I had to come back and make sure that people know how amazing these guys are. Wednesday night I went in around 10ish and they were pretty busy for a weeknight. Even with that, the girl taking my order was very nice and attentive. She made sure she got every part of my order and STILL she made sure to hold a good convo with me. All of the girls there were attentive, even while making drinks. Not even 2 minutes after taking my order one of the girls made sure to check if I had been waiting long. Again I have to say, all of the employees here are phenomenal and always make sure the customers have exactly what they want.
