We had a wonderful stay at the Ithaca of South Beach. We arrived on an early flight well before check in time. We were able to complete all the paperwork when we arrived, and then leave our bags so we could go out an explore. When we came back to check in, we just picked up our keys and went to our room (#111). The room was large, with a king bed, nice bathroom and TV. There was a large wardrobe as well. While I would never decorate my house this modern, I do enjoy the style and it was fun to stay in a place so beautiful and out of my personal decorating comfort zone. I hear there is an evening reception, however we were out and about during it. We did go to breakfast though. It's not a huge buffet, but it is nice to be able to grab a quick breakfast before heading out for the day. There was coffee and OJ (possibly more like Sunny-D?), pastries, meat and cheese and a few other things. The lobby transforms and there are a few tables to enjoy your breakfast at. The Ithaca has a great location! It is in walking distance to everything in South Beach. We walked to the beach, to dinner, and basically explored all of South Beach on foot. I'd definitely recommend the Ithaca of South Beach and would return if I find myself back there!

One of the best hotel concierge managers I've met globally. Yay Dion! Thank you.

Concierges at the best hotels around the world have something to learn from Dion Moore at the Ithaca. He's thorough, has connections to the best restaurants, lounges, and clubs in the area, and goes above and beyond to make sure his guests have an amazing time. For the room size, location, decor, this is hands down the best value. I usually stay at the W but this cute boutique hotel is among my favorites in the area.

Cold water, red an white wine and some cheese and olives. I love it

Nice little hotel close to the beach. The hotel only has 11 rooms what makes it very familiar. The people at the reception and as well al the other employees are verry friendly and ready to help you where they can. If you want to go to the beach the hotel provides you beach towels, sun umbrellas and beach chairs for usage. The breakfast is included and is very tasty. Throughout the day in the lounge you can grab an apple and some ice cold water. From 6pm to 7pm the hotel offers wine and cheese to their guests. A very nice gesture and a good opportunity to meet other hotel guests. These little attentions make this hotel to one of the most pleasant hotels I've stayed at!

I really want to give more stars to this hotel, because our stay was pretty wonderful, but unfortunately the staff was quite rude on one important issue to me. Being Vegetarian, I was a little shocked at the cow-skin rug on the floor when we walked into our room and simply asked if they could remove it for the remainder of our stay. A simple request, the staff could have easily rolled up the cowhide and tucked it away, ensuring that their guest was comfortable. Instead, the concierge called the hotel owner, who argued that the hide was fake (which I still do not believe - especially since every room has a different cowhide.) and that they would not move it. Regardless of it being real or fake, I would expect the hotel to recognize that a guest was upset by it and quickly move it away for the night. So, for that, I am taking away a star. Other than the big disappointment with the rug, our stay was quite enjoyable. This hotel is in a great location, only a block from the beach. The hotel also provides beach towels, a bag to carry your beach supplies as well as an umbrella and chairs on request. The hotel suites are very big with modern furniture and the room was extremely clean when we arrived. The staff was a little overwhelming at check in, showing us every detail of the room, but since they brought in Champagne to welcome us, we were able to drink away while he showed us how to use the T.V. remote. The bathroom shower had nice pressure and was nice and high, which is great for my husband who is 6'3". Waking up to a fresh breakfast is very nice as well. The hotel provided a simple breakfast which included coffee, juices, toast, muffins, bagels and an assortment of sandwich toppings to make a bagel sandwich. Each evening, the hotel also has wine and cheese tastings to enjoy, although we missed that while we were out exploring the city. The hotel was within walking distance to many eateries, as well as ocean drive. The hotel staff is quick to offer suggestions for dinner as well as local hang-outs to get away from the tourist crowd. Check out was a little earlier than I would like, when paying $260 a night, I would like to have a full 24 hours at the hotel. Check in was 3pm, check out 11am. I would prefer a 12pm or even 1pm check out option.

The only good thing about this place is the location. They charge for everything! $10 for a clean face cloth no matter how long you stay with them and body wash is also available for a fee lol. The rooms are ran down. Headboard was peeling all over, the rug was dirty, the toilet literally had no water in the toilet bowl and the iron was gross with no ironing board. No elevator so be prepared to carry your luggage up a flight of stairs. Pay a little extra and stay at a real hotel so you can be accommodated properly. Remember you get what you pay for so I guess I can't be too mad 4 nights for $500.

I would love to give this more stars, but due to some standard expectations I can't. To start off I will say the staff are VERY VERY nice, very welcoming. We had a early flight the day we checked in and it was nice to see we were being taken care of. The hotel is totally contemporary chic, loved it! Unfortunately the bed sheets were dirty however we were so tired from the early flight so we just put a towel over it and had them change the sheets the next day. As for breakfast I learned very quickly next time to check to see if the hotels offer a "hot breakfast" or just a lame one. It consisted of pound cake, cranberry juice, coffee, water, slice bread and yogurt with no ice in the bucket to keep it cold and sliced cheese and deli meat which again had nothing keeping it cold. I wasn't trying to get sick on my vacation so held of on pretty much all of it. We stayed there for 6 nights, by the 4th day one of the guest which checked in that didn't know much about parenting would let their kid scream and run UP and DOWN the hall at 8am. I called into the front desk and explained to them and said it will be taken care of. (This hotel is not very big it's more a boutique type, so space is small, be considerate to other people trying to enjoy their vacation ;) ... Fast forward to the next day low and behold SAME THING when 8am rolls around again.... At this point we have one more night before our checkout date. We explained to the front desk about the situation that was not taken care of. So we decided to leave a day early. This is the best they could do..... Deduct $52 from what we paid since it was last minute. Well we weren't exactly planning to have a hotel take care of us that way either! They definitely could of accommodated us with a BIT more. It was inconvenient for us to leave too. Won't be back...

i reserved this hotel for the 4th of july weekend prior to curfew, beaches being closed, and 8 pm end alcohol sale. there was a no cancellation and i figured go instead of loosing money. there is no hotel designated parking you have to pay per hour on the street or $20 per day at the parking lot across the street. the contactless checking was great! beautiful hotel and close to everything. the room was so much bigger than expected. i would have given 5 stars but i did t get to experience the amenities at the beach

I stayed at Ithaca for a night while I was in Miami, it is a lovely place the location is amazing, walking distance from the beach and the plenty of restaurants around. Staff are friendly and helpful, but had kind of mixed feelings about this place, my room was next to the AC unit which was loud, I couldn't sleep the whole night from the sound. The other thing was the bathrobe it was unclean and kind of disgusting to keep it in the room. But otherwise it is a nice small boutique hotel.

Very clean hotel in a great location. The wine and cheese hour was really great as well as the complimentary champagne at check in :) The rooms look just like the pictures and are sooo spacious! The breakfast however was lacking... Just a few bagels and pound cake. Most was gone and not replenished by the time we got there. The orange juice was Sunny D...gross. I would stay here again in South beach because of the location, price, cleanliness and size of rooms.

Quiet, clean and easy check-in! I wasn't sure where to book until I took the leap of faith with this place. I was happy to see that my room was nicely organized and clean. No signs of bed bugs!! Minimal street noise!! But there was two things that bothered me. First, was the fact that there was only an elevator only for luggage purposes!! So I wouldn't recommend this place if somebody is in a wheel chair or disabled in any way. Secondly, was something that was more of a health concern for anybody staying at this place and eating something from what they got to offer!! I took a slice of bread toasted the slice and took it back to my room. When I was just about to put butter on the bread, I noticed green mold on the side!!!!! Crazy!! Obviously the bread was not stored in a controlled temperature room!!! This was the reason why I only rated this place 3 stars. Good place to stay but I would not eat anything from there!! Please be carful if you decide to eat something from Ithaca!!

My gf and I stopped through here on our way out before boarding our flights later in the afternoon. If you're toting your luggage and not a hotel guest, you will have to find another hotel to store your luggage while enjoying this most decadent brunch experience. Luckily we arrived early enough to our reservations to sort that out. Reservations are a must if you don't want to wait. The restaurant is gorgeous with various spaces designed differently but keeps to the exotic Asian theme. Dining in the atrium near the water feature in the middle with stage for the musicians is where we had our experience. Olga was our server. She brought us our special beverages not available at the bar: Bloody Mary's and endless bubbly in our glasses The offerings here are more than I can name, but there is something to satisfy every craving. The favorite for me is the caviar bar. It comes with all the proper fixings on a blini with Crème fraîche. Do you need a vodka shot to go with? Yes, that's also available also at the caviar station. Fresh raw oysters, clams or shrimp cocktail is available in abundance with everything else here. The ceviche was great. I passed on all the various noodles but had to have some lamb curry and basmati rice- delicious! I had some Peking Duck and leg of lamb at the meat station. The filet mignon and lamb chops was ordered and brought to the table. The leg of lamb and filet were slightly dry but still good. The lamb chops with chimichurri sauce was amazing- nuances of vibrant flavors. Assorted fresh fruits were a colorful collection of enticements. I saw some papaya and enjoyed its fresh, sweet juiciness. I am not a dessert person but had to try the key like pie. Then of course, the matcha dessert is a sitting temptation next to the pie. So, my dessert spoils were more than intended. What the hell right? Lol That was the sweet ending to my Setai brunch. There was so much more such as bread, fried stuff, eggs, bagel station, toast etc. One can only eat so much. I stuck to enjoying my favorites. The experience is pricey but so worth it. It is truly the best brunch experience I've ever had. - better than Vegas and a cruise ship!! I always have to experience a Setai brunch whenever in Miami!

You are walking through the area with all the guests and their luggage in your super large robe that doesn't close very well. I did not enjoy this. Some disappointing things which was not their fault is the parking garage construction noise even on Sundays. The noise took away from my spa experience. They did nothing for the noise control. Also, the SPA requests you must arrive 30 minutes before your treatment time. I got my parking validated BUT we stayed for brunch who also validated our parking but we went over the 4 hours so we got no discount for parking and we were charged the full $35 fee plus tip for the valet. The valet staff was quite nasty telling me we were there too long for the discount BUT each one of those alone qualified for a discounted valet. You can not do both in the 4 hour window.

The staff were generally friendly, and a few were especially helpful. They handled three packages I had shipped to the hotel efficiently, though there was a sizable per-package fee. Small touches like afternoon boozy gelato samples and a lobby change machine for breaking $20s into $5s were appreciated. Breakfast at Lolo's was decent. My Marriott status included breakfast for two, though the included menu was much shorter than the regular one and the portions were modest. Still, the food was cooked to order, tasted good, and the servers kindly let me order both breakfasts since I was traveling alone. I didn't try the Japanese restaurant on site, but I heard good things and enjoyed the neighborhood restaurants instead, especially La Grande Boucherie. I paid a substantial premium for an oceanfront double room, but I'm not sure I would do that again. The balcony and glass door were fairly small, and the balcony felt boxed in for privacy. Next time I might prefer a cheaper park-side room on a higher floor, which could still offer a nice park and ocean view. The biggest disappointment was the late checkout. My Marriott Platinum Elite status is supposed to include guaranteed 4 p.m. late checkout, but the hotel would not honor it. Each day I was told to check again later, and in the end they could only offer 1 p.m. That created real scheduling problems, since I had planned around the advertised benefit. With no good place in the hotel to work or take calls after checkout, I ended up going to the airport hours early. The status is supposed to provide a room upgrade, but that wasn't available either. A couple of other issues matched complaints I had seen in recent reviews. One elevator stopped for several minutes with a group of us inside and did not respond to the buttons, which was uncomfortable even though the door eventually opened. I also received a call inviting me downstairs for a "welcome gift," which turned out to be a Marriott Vacation Club sales pitch. That should be presented more honestly. Overall, this was a decent stay and I might return. But given the failure to honor the guaranteed 4 p.m. late checkout, I would compare other options carefully before booking again.

However since we paid tripple that price I have to be way more critical. The staff makes it extra special. They were all friendly and had the "I can do it for you attitude." Kudos to the staff. Our "up-graded" room facing half ocean/city was tiny, a tad worn, had a very nice view, and non impressive toiletrees. The worst part of our room was the side of the hotel we were on. Our room was on the industrial exhaust fans side and it was extremely noisy. Had to keep our balcony door closed to drown out the noise. The location of the hotel, as others mentioned is ideal. Now here is the scary part...we got stuck on the elevator two times. It wasn't a long time but enough to scare me especially since I am very claustrophobic. I ended up taking the stairs to the 9th floor the rest of our stay. They did fix the elevator but this happened to quite a few guests and they didn't shut the elevator. Our complimentary breakfast (free with my Marriott status) was not the best. Breakfast is served in the attached Mexican restaurant which is not owned by Marriott. It is not a buffet. Small menu with the basics. Food was fair. We enjoyed the pool and the short walk to the beach. The pool restaurant has the best hotdogs! And we also enjoyed the quinoa salad.

The kind of place where…read moreyou walk into the lobby and instantly feel like you've stepped into a glossy magazine spread. High ceilings, marble everywhere, and a buzz that tells you you're in the right place. What impressed me most? There's genuinely plenty to do for all ages, which is not something you can say about every Miami resort. Whether you're traveling with kids, teens, adults, or a multigenerational crew, everyone finds their lane here. The pool scene is the heartbeat of the property. Multiple pools, each with its own personality -- family-friendly areas with space to splash, quieter corners for lounging, and the high-energy spots where the music and cocktails flow. Service was dialed in across the board: fast, friendly, and always one step ahead. Rooms were spotless and stylish, with balconies that make you want to order room service just to soak in the view a little longer. Housekeeping kept everything crisp, and every request was met with that effortless "of course" attitude. Dining is another standout. From quick bites to full-on fine dining, everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Even the grab-and-go spots felt elevated. And if nightlife is your thing, you don't need to leave the property -- the energy here after dark is pure Miami. But if you're traveling with kids or just want a low-key night, the resort still feels comfortable and accessible. Fontainebleau nails that rare balance of iconic luxury and all-ages fun. It's bold, glamorous, and buzzing in all the right ways, yet still manages to be welcoming and easy to enjoy no matter who you're traveling with. A true Miami classic that continues to deliver. Enjoy

This is a tourist trap extraordinaire. It made me feel like I was paying to be in a place trying to extract from me, not serve me. And yes, I did complain twice to the front staff about these issues - to stony faces and lame excuses that were canned and code for "we don't care." The resort fee is $60/day (which is not made clear on Orbitz, where I booked it), yet when I went in February the pool and all outdoor facilities - which is what the resort fee pays for - closed at 6pm. We were told it closes at "sundown," even though they clearly have outdoor lights for the whole outside facility. Want to swim in the evening or night? Nope. All those pictures with the pool lit up? Not for you. And if you dare to be in the pool at 6:01, there were six staff for every one guest to tell you to get out. Seriously, we got warnings to get out at 10min to 6, 5min to 6, and at 6:00. Why every five minutes? Because a group of staff members were hovering over us, watching and waiting for the moment to kick us out. Very relaxing. You have to wear an armband everywhere you go. Staff are at every door as you go in or out - hotel to pool or pool to beach - monitoring you to produce it. Very relaxing. There is no coffee in the room, forcing you to travel across the whole huge facility (3 towers connected by long walks) to their coffee shop to pay $10 for a cup of coffee each morning. You could walk all the way back to your room, or - like me - you can try to drink it by the pool. But NO! You can't sit by the pool. Those seats and lounges require you to pay a fee, even in February when there was NO ONE there. If you don't want to pay, you can find a free lounge on the outer fringes. And if you try to sit without paying, there are staff to tell you to move immediately. Hovering, as usual. To get a lounge on the beach - in February, low season - we had to get in line to sign up for a chair and then get in a second line of 20-30 people and wait in the hot sun for an available, assigned chair and a staff person to take us there. Grab a chair and relax? Nope. It's a monitored system. When we checked out, the staff told us there were too many rooms to provide a coffee maker in each one. I guess their policy is to assume their guests are stupid.
