I was at the Desert Ridge Marketplace earlier today and I happened to stop inside IT'SUGAR, and I was immediately transported to a candy wonderland. From the bags I could fill up with whatever I wanted (that was later weighed and paid for by pound) to the tasty gifts and candy, I had plenty to look at and a lot of temptations to face. While I didn't go into the store with the intention to purchase anything, I thought it was a perfect opportunity to get a bag of candies and chocolates that I knew my wife would enjoy as a special treat for her. I then got a similar bag with some candies and chocolates I knew I would enjoy. Most of the candies and chocolates were unique ones that I've had something similar but not this before, so I had the opportunity to try a few of the candies and chocolates when I got home. The cashier was the only staff member in the store at that time, and she was kind and helping a number of people before me. IT'SUGAR. Interesting name for a candy store but one that sums things up nicely. Located in the heart of Desert Ridge Marketplace, you won't have trouble finding parking in the ample lots that surround the Marketplace. I stopped by on a Sunday evening for a sweet treat. Talk about an awesome selection of candy and chocolate! You have a couple of options. You can create your own bag of goodies from a vast selection. You then pay based on the weight of your bag. Pick up a scooper and customize things to your heart's content. Outside of that, they have a ton of novelty sweets (and even some drinks). We're talking matcha Kit Kats, a Duff beverage (from The Simpsons), overpriced Dubai chocolate, and much, much more. You'll find a bunch of sweet treats here that you won't find at your neighborhood grocery store. This is the type of place that kids will love. And also a good place to buy a cool gift for someone. Sugar high! Kids love this place, of course. It's like stepping foot into Willy Wonka's candy factory! The employees are always welcoming and friendly. The must love working there. They have these new (to me at least) 3D gummies that are so adorable and delicious. They would be fun for a party!! I got Lego bricks, piggies, pineapples, cherries, apples, robots, and cupcakes. They had great flavors, I can imagine them in little glasses or jars as centerpieces. Or treat bags. I went back 3 times the same visit. LOL They have little rainbow licorice pieces that have a cream fill inside, bulk area, oh man those were delicious. They tasted more like a strawberry or cherry. They were softer too. I almost bought a Sanrio box of goodies, and I really still want it, I will probably go back on payday. They have a lot of fun gift candy and road trip candy. I love shopping here! read more

Super convenient location at Desert Ridge. Tons of ample parking. Parking lot was super clean as was their entryway. My wife and I visited Desert Ridge today and stopped in here to look around. It's obviously quite the novelty and as such, it is extremely expensive (for what you're getting). One employee in the store today who never acknowledged our presence at all. We looked around and there are some pretty cool things in the store, but nothing I don't think I could absolutely live without. It's quite colorful though and cheery and it's a unique experience, but let's face it. It's candy. And their bulk candy is $15 per pound. Yes, for candy. I mean, that's like cocaine money, right? I mean, $15 a pound for some m&m's that I can buy from Costco for pennies on the dollar? The whole thing seems like a sham, but if you want a 6-lb. Swedish Fish replica or some other giant-sized gummy items - I suppose this is your place. Not quite sure how they even remain open giving the pricing, but I suppose you're paying for that Desert Ridge experience. It might be worth a visit if you're in the area, but if you truly are looking for something to fix your sweet tooth craving, you could literally go anywhere else and pay a small fraction of what It's Sugar charges. read more

I really like this place. Its just fun to browse. I always grab some sweets and my cricket's fix. The staff at this location is by far the best. Super friendly, super helpful and they always greet you as you walk in. Other locations just don't measure up. I will take a longer drive just to shop at this location because of the quality of workers here. read more

Today I brought my 3 kids to its sugar, we where checking out and I was using Apple Pay the girl said to press credit so I did, when I was trying pay she said sorry we don't do Apple Cash so I got my 12 year old daughter and asked her to help me because she payed at the other cashier and it worked with Apple Cash. It's.... gross! It's Sugar is a cute looking candy stop in the mall that is filled with candy and novelty gifts. In actuality though, it's a showy store front for incredibly low-quality candy at ridiculous prices. I bought a small bag the other day ($8 for a tiny bag) because it I thought it would be fun to take some to my fiance but in the end, I threw everything away. Of the much variety I had, only a few were worth eating. Everything else was some imitation junk for familiar favorites. For example, the chocolate covered peanuts are the lowest quality I've ever tasted. The caramels are gross. The red nibs that look like Red Vines... inedible. I could go on... Only the bins that was specifically labeled with brand names like 'Chewy Spree' and 'Peanut M&M's' were of any quality. Oh, and I guess the jelly frog types of candy were decent. If you end up in this trap, only pull from bins that have name brands labeled on them. Last note... the girl behind the counter wasn't very friendly... which probably didn't add to the experience. Her fake 'have a sweet day' when we checked out didn't make up for it. Advice: if you don't love kids and interacting with people, you probably shouldn't be working in a candy store. I was very excited to visit your store and today I finally got that chance. Upon walking in your store I was very impressed UNTIL I came across the socks.....how disgusting!! I mean really?? Isn't this also a children's store? Is it really necessary to sell socks with the F sayings on them. Ok, so if you want to go for the novelty factor this is ok. If you're going with deep pockets this is good too. If you're going to grab some candy because it's easier than going to the grocery store expect to pay more. It's Sugar has all of your favorites from your childhood and the popular ones from today but is significantly more expensive than your local pharmacy. Go there if you want to relive some of your childhood and find a piece of "history". Me personally, I'm saving money and going to Walgreens. read more

I needed candy corns in April for a cupcake project and found them at IT'SUGAR. This place brought me back to my childhood with the coke bottle gummies and assorted flavored shoestring licorice. There's also a rack of candy cigarettes and other childhood novelties. I found the candy corns but had to dig deep in my pocket to pay for them. They were priced almost three times higher than at Wal-Mart and tasted the same. I hadn't found candy corns anywhere else in April so I reluctantly paid for them and was on my way. 5 stars with lower prices. read more

I am a little confused how they can possibly get any negative reviews because this store is the coolest place I've come across in a long time. I am honestly turning into a regular because they have something for everyone! I am writing this review today because the last time I was in I witnessed another customer yelling at the employee for some of the merchandise the company carries and I cannot disagree more. Sure, the store isn't 100% for children.. but the way I raised my children was not by sheltering, but teaching. Putting items above children's eye level..? Where exactly would that be? They are going to learn it all eventually so why not be the one to teach them?! The employees here are all so great to me every time I go in! They seem to always be working on projects so I feel bad because they always stop what they're doing to talk to me but I love it at the same time! I keep bringing friends in to see all the craziness and have a blast every time. One thing I do wish It'sugar offered was more items that are aimed towards men. There's really not much, not even the super hero clothes were for men so that kinda bummed me out.. Dazzling store with cheap and crappy products. Bought a game of PAC man for my kid. Turned out to be crap. The controller sucked and game was sluggish and unresponsive. When I was buying it I asked the guy what's the return policy and he said as long as I had my receipt I'd be fine. Week later went in to return it with my receipt, the lady at the counter with an attitude tells me I have to have original packaging with it. I told her that is not what was told to me and she pointed me to a policy that was written on a 3X9 paper on the other side of the register. Not even on receipt. I told her ok I'll be back. Came back a week later with original packaging and even their store bag and receipt. Same lady now tells me that the package can not be opened. I was pissed. I told her that she didn't tell me about opened packages and she again pointed me to their return policy note again on other side of registrar. I read it and Nowhere did it say unopened. It said unwashed and undamaged but not unopened So finally after pointing that out the lady with took my return with an attitude. Never going there again. read more

I went there looking for brown m&m's as I had called and was told that they had them. The lady working was very rude when she asked us what we were looking for and I told her. She said they don't have them and that I must have called another store. She was so rude I almost walked out right then and there. After I found another candy that could work for what I was needing the m&m's for I was in shock how much it cost! I wish I would have just walked out when she was so rude to me- it would have saved me $16! The candy isn't even good. After my experience there today I'm NEVER going back. This is a very cool store, you can find just about any type of candy! The best part about It's Sugar is the outstanding service!! Today it seems like customer service hardly exists and it's a shame. On Monday night a couple of my friends and I visited this store when they were getting ready to close. I felt bad and told my friends we should come back another day because I am also in the customer service industry and I did not want to interrupt their closing duties. I have been in this store several times, my kids love it so I always go around Holidays and birthdays to add a little something fun to their gifts. The store is adorable and colorful and everyone is very helpful, however there is one associate that goes above and beyond to be courteous and helpful, her name is Bertie, you can tell she loves her job and is a pleasure to see at the store each time I go in! Unbelievable experience, not only is this store super fun but the customer service is as good as it gets! I am greeted as soon as my feet hit the first couple inches of their floor.
