One of the BEST ramen I've ever tried! Before you come at me, I'm referring to a fully vegetarian/vegan ramen - it's hard to come across a delicious, hearty, packed with flavor broth (unless you go straight to the motherland). We came here with a group of friends (shout out to our friend for bringing us here) and we sat in the quieter area to the back with the bench chairs. Loved this little room it's perfect for a cozy night with friends and definitely a lot quieter than the regular room. Of course, this place is pretty small to begin with but attention to detail, service and food flavors is what it's all about. We started things off with the spicy kyuri pickles which were absolutely delicious. The rice vinegar is what gave it that perfect amount of punch without making you feel like you were eating salt and vinegar chips (which I LOVE). Spice level wasn't too spicy for me but it does have a kick. Me and my husband ordered different ramens so we could try the different flavors and I'm SO glad we did. The veggie spicy miso red chili is what stole my heart and lives rent free in my taste buds (they too have a memory hehe). I think that dish was perfectly balanced without being overpowering or too spicy. The biggest amount of spice does sit at the bottom of the bowl and as I was siping my last bits of broth away that's when I noticed my pleasant little wake up call - which again for me it wasn't that spicy since I have a pretty high tolerance. IT WAS SO SO SO SO SO DELICOUS! Hubby's ramen was out of this world in its own way. He ordered the truffled vegan shoyu and WOW. It was one of those broths that can stand alone and make your taste buds dance and go crazy. It was absolutely incredible and one slurp lead to the next. Both of the ramen dishes were incredible - I personally don't eat eggs but even the eggs were beautiful. Absolutely love this place and can't wait to go back. It's definitely a great spot during the winter to warm you up. Bowls are pretty generous and if you're hungry enough you'll eat it all. If you want to leave some room for dessert or grab something else in the area, then you're good to go if you share one. My greedy self would never at this spot but hey, you do you :) One last thing, LOVED that everyone can pay for their own thing at your tables bill using the QR code to split and pay what you want. That way you don't have to awkwardly make your server do it for you and try to figure it all out while that one lemonade someone forgot to pay for etc haha. Super cool feature!
Made a reservation a few weeks before and I had no idea how busy this small ramen restaurant on Clinton St. could get! People were coming in and out, and after dining here I realize it's because they have a tight-knit table duration policy, which ranges from an hour-1.5hrs depending on your party size. Our server was nice and attended to us quickly. I appreciated how often they filled our glasses, but noticed how quickly they did want us out the door. We ordered the curry flower and karaage to start. I enjoyed the flavors of the curry flower, but felt like the karaage was lacking in texture. For our entrees we both ordered the Tonkotsu and really enjoyed how filling it was. I don't think it was warm enough, but I didn't hate it. Not the best ramen i've had, but I'm curious to try the Spicy Miso Ramen, as our server said it was her favorite. Before we were finished eating, our server asked to give us to go plates and wanted us OUT lol (idk if you've seen that tik tok where the server pranks the restaurant goer by clearing his plate while he was mid bite, lol that is what eating here reminded me. We were out an hour on the dot of arriving. Overall a pretty good restaurant, but not the type of restaurant you go to catch up or lounge, they want you in an out and I'm not a big fan of feeling rushed when i'm eating at a restaurant. Great service though, just not sure if i'd be back with company.
It didn't feel like anything was freshly prepared here. The pork and the egg were both ice cold in my soup. The ramen broth itself was also not as hot as it should've been. Flavors were basic and the meal as a whole left so much to be desired. Maybe I should've tried the miso ramen.
Ivan Ramen is a staple place for myself and my fiance! We were just here again this past weekend and they never disappoint! From the appetizers all the way down to the desserts, the food is so delicious! I highly recommend you always try to reserve a seat because it gets very BUSY in there and it's a pretty narrow place so you definitely want to ensure you can get a seat. Overall a good ramen spot, but I wouldn't say the best. I had the spicy veggie miso ramen, which was flavorful and spicy. It was perfect for a cold day. My husband got the chicken paitan and it was bland and too salty. The service was great, however, so I did really enjoy that!
Best dish was the tonkatsu tsukumen. The vinegar that comes on the side, I felt, was necessary to round it out. It was a tad salty. The appetizers, I would skip. Not big enough in flavor. The popular chicken gintai dish was interesting; I just prefer the tsukumen. The wait was well over an hour if you didn't have a reservation and the place was packed the entire time I was there.
Average ramen. I walked in for 2 and was seated right away. Had the tonkotsu and chicken paitan. The tonkotsu was ok, not too flavorful. The chicken paitan was salty and oily but more flavorful. There are better ramen at its price point.
Got takeout from Ivan's. It was quick and not a wait. Everything came wrapped and boxed well. Soup was separated from the ramen and still hot. Fried chicken stayed intact with its yuzu mayo sauce. The only thing was the broth was salty. Everything else was fine and enjoyable. Points for the yuzu mayo dipping sauce as it paired well with the fried chicken. Recommend for a cold night!
Good ramen. I came for the roasted tomato and I wasn't disappointed. I first had Ivan ramen when I first moved to NYC in 2014, back when there was a location near Javits in some random food court. I was unimpressed. I've learned more about the NYC noodle scene since, including some TV/YouTube features about Ivan's personal story about a ramen obsessive. With that story in mind, I enjoyed my tonkotsu ramen ($20) with a tomato ($3) added. I prefer bone broths over simple shio, and indeed the whole bowl was harmonious. No weak components, and I left sated and happy. A glass of house sake was $10. Easy to walk in for weekday lunch (office lunch break, perhaps?). A bright, airy dining galley filled with tables for 1-2 and counter seating.
This meal hit the spot on a cold rainy day!!! I started with the spicy cucumbers and wow they were def spicy!! (I don't eat as much spicy but worth every bite). My friend got the curry flower which was also delicious!!! Kept wanting more of it haha The tonkotsu ramen was chefs kiss. Pork was tender, broth was perfectly seasoned. No notes. I got the homemade lemonade and it wasn't too sweet and super refreshing. Staff was super nice. We walked in and were seated right away. If you're on the LES and like ramen, you should check this place out!
Plenty of seating, easy to reserve online. Lots of delicious appetizer options and tsukemen/ramen. Friendly service. I like their tsukemen better than their ramen though.
I have to say, I'm pretty surprised at the relatively low rating for this place. On Google they have some stellar reviews which is what made me try this place out. I had the Chicken Paitan which was full of flavour, it was so yummy! I loved the little crunchy pieces that they added to the soup. I also had the ube pudding for dessert, and this was the real showstopper in my opinion. It might be the best ube dessert I've ever had.
This is an amazing ramen spot. The prices are incredibly reasonable, especially considering the Manhattan location. The noodles taste amazing. I went with vegetarian options and enjoyed everything. The server I had (Jose) was also very attentive, prompt, and offered useful suggestions. It's popular and so crowded, but the ambiance is good. Would definitely recommend this spot for a solo, duo, or group meal.
came around 3 on a weekday and was surprised how busy it was. the chicken paitan was visually and texturely appealing but unfortunately was so salty i couldnt tell if i liked the broth or the flavor the ingredients added. the minced chicken reminded me a lot of chinese style noodles. service was wonderful though. read more
I'm still thinking about the pastrami bun, which did outshine my mazemen a bit. I appreciate the brothless and tsukemen options. Service is fast. The restaurant gets busy on even weekday nights and can be a little loud. QR code menus on the table, you can also pay that way but they can bring you the bill if you prefer. read more
I was surprised to see the lower rating for this place given the acclaim but now that I've been there, I get it . The restaurant was pretty busy for a Monday night but I got a seat at the bar. It's a pretty decent sized restaurant for NY and has a modern feel with the manga art across the walls. The waitstaff is really friendly and quick with their service. I ordered the shawarma gyoza, the maguro, and the shoyu ramen. The maguro came first. It has a nice balance of citrus, salt and a little sweetness. I wished it had more of a spice but otherwise not bad. The crackers held up well to the fish and there was a nice balance between fish and cracker. The gyoza came next and the description was spot on. It was like eating chicken rice from a cart but in a gyoza wrapper. Pretty tasty. The ramen came next and unfortunately it was a disappointment. Maybe I should have ordered one of their more unique noodle dishes but given how I read Ivan had studied authentic ramen, I wanted to try something traditional. The broth tasted a little like udon broth and not really very flavorful. I was pretty disappointed. The noodles were slightly over cooked as well. For a place that prides itself on ramen, this was not great. The egg was cooked well and the pork was delicious. But the basics of the ramen, broth and noodle, didn't stand up to some of the better places in LA, let alone Japan. read more
Ivan Ramen wasn't on my radar at all before our New York City trip, but when I learned how acclaimed the place is, I found myself becoming very excited about our visit. We showed up at around 6:00 on a Thursday and the place was already quite busy. We snagged a couple of spots at the bar, and even though we weren't planning on getting an appetizer, we certainly couldn't say no to the special: the "Lamb Shawarma" Gyoza ("Shwarma-seasoned lamb gyoza, "red sauce", "white sauce", shredded lettuce, cilantro and tomatoes"). It's amazing. We ate a lot of terrific stuff on our trip but this ranks very close to the top. It really did remind me of a shawarma, but a shawarma that's been elevated to incredible levels. Everything just worked so well together. For my main, I went with the Spicy Red Chili ramen ("dashi + chicken broth, red chili tare, shoyu-braised pork chashu, smashed egg, yu choy"). Though perhaps not quite as exquisite as that appetizer, I heartily enjoyed this ramen. At first I thought maybe there was nothing going on but heat, and yeah it's extremely hot, but the more I ate the more flavors began coming to the forefront. It doesn't hurt, either, that all the other components work really well and also elevate it. (Our server congratulated me after I finished, so I guess perhaps it's just a tad too hot for most people.) I also tried their house beer and it was great. I can tell Ivan Ramen would be a regular spot if I lived nearby. It's awesome. read more
I came here with the Ramen Meetup group and it was fantastic! I had the Jiro and it was awesome with a mountain of vegetables, but still flavorful with pork and mustard greens. They were kind enough to honor my request of noodles Al dente on the side. Great noodles! read more
We walked in on a Saturday evening around 7pm. I suggest making a reservation ahead of time and the wait time can range from 30 minutes to 2 hours during this time. The servers were kind and seated us after my party was complete. We enjoyed the Tokyo shio and the chicken paitan that was recommended by the waiter. Both were delicious. I enjoyed how the Tokyo Shio broth was rich yet not overwhelmingly oily. The roasted tomato was a nice touch to the ramen. The noodles were chewy and cooked al dente. The cozy atmosphere is great for a meal with family and friends. I would recommend for those who enjoy Japanese fusion ramen as it does not seem to be traditional style. read more
It's been way too long for me to finally make it here, but so glad we did. This is one of the best and possibly the best ramen I've ever had in my life. I tried the Jiro and it was fantastic! Everything about it was so thoughtfully created and added to the dish. The egg was perfectly jammy and loved all the flavors like the garlic and even the wood ear. The soup was so flavorful and the rye noodles were perfect! We also tried the Chicken Paitan which had an even more flavorful broth, so concentrated. We started with the tuna tartare which came with nice rice chips which was also great. As a bonus, we also saw Ivan there and was able to say hello and meet him. I'm not a huge fan of sweet and salty so this wasn't my jam. I got the tonkotsu ramen since I love rich broths. The soup was meaty, creamy, and flavorful. The egg nicely soft boiled. I like my noodles thick and chewy, so these were not my fav. Ivan's ramen has thin rye noodles. But I honestly don't eat much of the noodles in general, so it was fine. Since it was between lunch and dinner time, it was very chill. Our server was attentive and friendly. Suggested the beer I got since I wanted something light. Nice spot to grab a bowl of ramen. Ambiance (5/5): It is tight and bustling on the inside with some high top seating facing the open kitchen. There are some also floor seating as well as covered backyard outdoor seating with heated lamps. We dined outside and the heat lamps were sufficient in keeping us toasty. Service (5/5): The servicing staff were stellar with cool/approachable attitude and swift help to our needs. The waiter was able to remember almost 10+ orders without taking down a single note!? The food came out fairly quickly! Crispy Eggplant (5/5): It was a unique spin to eggplant! The inside was soft but the exterior had a light breading that soaked up the mayo-based sauce that gave it richness to each bite! Karaage (4/5): The breading was tasty but a little too breaded for me. The inside chicken pieces were juicy. With the dipping sauce, the chicken was perfect. Tonkotsu Ramen (3.5/5): Although the ramen portions felt generous, I thought that the broth was wayyy too salty (as did other patrons of their ramen). The noodles had a great bounce. Their sliced pork is a bit different and sliced more thin, tender, but still good. Ramen had a whole soft boiled egg. Sadly how salty the broth was and something missing in the broth overall let me down. read more

The narrow & close seating reminds me of actual ramen shops in Japan - The wall is decorated with images & drawings plastered on the brick in a street-style graffiti fashion SERVICE: (5/5) - Came as a walk-in with my cousin on a rainy day & was able to be seated right away - Waiter was great, greeted us with a smile & checked in on us when appropriate - Food came at a good time, didn't have to wait too long FOOD/DRINKS: (3/5) - Crispy Eggplant (5/5): Came out piping hot & breaded lightly to give that perfect crispiness on each side. The white sesame puree was very unique, acted almost like hummus in a way. Quite an interesting dish & well worth ordering again - Brussel Sprouts (2/5): I love brussel sprouts and these are cooked nicely but they were drenched in the oily chilly sauce. The sauce itself wasn't bad, a bit spicy to kick off the taste buds but the entire dish was just completely soaked in a layer of oil that has separated from the sauce - Tonkotsu Ramen (3.5/5): noodles were cooked to perfection & the perfect texture. Where it fell short was the broth, wish it was a bit more rich as it had promised & more layered in flavor. It felt like it just needed... something. Felt a bit flat. The chashu was tender & the rest of the toppings were fresh. OVERVIEW: (3/5) - Wish I liked it more than I did. Made reservations for weeknight dinner and was glad I did because it was packed! My friend was running late but the staff were friendly and flexible. The restaurant is small and can get a bit crammed, but that's ny I guess. Got the Japanese fried chicken for starters which was good but nothing really special. The spicy red chili ramen was great and actually pretty spicy! Some reviews say it wasn't so maybe they kicked it up a notch? Good portion size as well. read more

Ivan Ramen is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience ramen like never before! Thanks to a friend for bringing us here and encouraging us to watch the Chef's Table episode featuring Chef Ivan Orkin--a moving story that resonates deeply and is worth watching (grab a tissue and watch before you go!) We went on a night when the Blackbird special was going on, and the ramen was half-price through the app. We ran into some issues with the app, but luckily a representative was there to help. Even though we couldn't get the app working correctly, Ivan Ramen still honored the deal. Great service! Ivan Orkin's dedication to creating a unique culinary experience distinctly shines through in the food. The ramen I enjoyed was absolutely the best I've ever had, even compared to my time in Japan. I savored the chicken ramen, enhanced by roasted tomato, and it was nothing short of spectacular. Accompanying the ramen, we had a delightful serving of the Ivan Karaage, which was beautifully crispy and flavorful--a true highlight of the meal. On our plates but not pictured were the scrumptious miso Caesar salad and a refreshing daikon salad, both of which complemented the meal perfectly. Everything about our dining experience was exceptional, and I can't recommend Ivan Ramen enough for anyone looking to enjoy an authentic yet innovative take on ramen! Wow, I really enjoyed my time here. Walked in on a Sunday evening and got counter seating-aka they take walk ins! We got the curry cauliflower and it was yummy! I'm not a vegetables for appetizer type of girl but really enjoyed it. The moving stuff on top gives it an amazing umami flavor. I chose the chicken pastian? Sorry if I am misspelling it and CLEARED MY BOWL. I never finish my food so that's telling you how good it is. The egg on top adds a richness to the broth. And the noodles are to die for. Thin and not too chewy. And our waiter was amazing, I wish I got his name but everyone in the shop is happy to work there and all around good vibes. Will come back read more

Came in for a bowl of ramen on a freezing day. One of the ramen places in the area that still had a few seats. It is a bigger place than I imaged it to be. Menus are on QR codes, and the staff are very friendly. The chicken paitan was richer than any chicken paitan I've had. It was very similar to what I would think of as a tonkotsu broth. It is on the saltier side. The lime that came with it helped to add a bit of acidity. The minced togarashi chicken was okay. It didn't seem to add to much to the dish nor did the raw egg. I would've preferred actual slices of meat and a soft boiled egg. I did think the ramen was lacking compared to ramen at other places in the sense that there weren't a lot of toppings. The noodle portion also seemed like a smaller amount than most places. While I was there, I heard the waiters discouraging guests from ordering anything other than the chicken paitan or tsukemen if it was their first time, stating that those two were the best. read more

While it doesn't look like a lot, the bowl ended up being super filling and tasty. I'm glad I tried out Ivan Ramen while visiting the city, but I don't think I'd go out of my way to come back. read more

Came here at 12pm for lunch. There was a short line outside before they opened but they still had many tables available. We ordered the eggplant to share. I'm not usually a fan of eggplant but this one was cooked really well and very tasty! I ordered the tonkotsu ramen and enjoyed it as well. The broth chashu was very tender but the star was definitely the noodles. They were very thin and had a unique texture. read more

I wasn't sure about what to expect from this place given the middling reviews, but I actually quite enjoyed the meal I got takeout. I typically favour pork-based ramens, but when I saw how popular the chicken paitan is here, I opted for that instead. My friend got the tonkotsu. While it was good, it wasn't stand-out, and I'm very glad I tried the chicken paitan. I would highly recommend it, with its rich and flavourful chicken broth (a tad on the salty side) and minced chicken. It might be because I ordered takeout, but it's worth mentioning that I got a regular ramen egg instead of egg yolk, as is listed on the menu. The ramen egg was strangely cold compared to the rest of the soup (it had probably come right out of the fridge) but the flavour was great. Overall, this is a decent spot to order from and I'd order/visit again for the chicken paitan! read more
A favorite once in Japan and now seated in the East Village, Ivan Ramen is the spot for authentic ramen. I have visited twice now and was impressed both times with the food, service, and overall vibe of the restaurant. I have tried the karaage, shoyu ramen, and chicken ramen. My favorite is the chicken ramen but I opted for the shoyu at this visit because I thought the broth would be more fitting for a hot summer day than the richer broth of the chicken ramen. Although Ivan Ramen is a slightly higher price point than other ramen joints in the city, I think it is a great spot for a chilly night. Note that they have a fairly spacious patio for when you want to dine outdoors. read more

I'm a die hard ramen fan, the ramen here fell a bit short for me. Having sampled 4 different ones I'd say the chicken was the best (chicken the best? Something I thought would never come out of my mouth). The triple pork, triple garlic is a soupless ramen that was second best. The spicy miso was ok and at least lives up to its spicy name. The tonkotsu was flat and watery, especially if you've ever been to Japan. The apps however were extremely solid, the sashimi, the fried chicken, and the curry cauliflower were all very tasty. Service was great, reservations easy to snag, and for those into vibes, this place has it. read more

I came here after seeing the Chef's Table episode about Ivan, the restaurant's founder. He has a really interesting story, and his restaurant makes really delicious food. Unfortunately, he wasn't in the kitchen on the day I went. I had a reservation for 1pm on a Sunday, but arrived early. They were able to seat me where I wanted on the counter, even though the restaurant was quite busy. And it was busy for a good reason. The ambience is Japanese-style comic book (not Manga, the western-style comic book). It's a fun and unpretentious vibe, but with a lot of thought behind the decor, and the flatware/silverware. I started my meal with the Kyuri (cucumber pickles). They were well-made, but beware, they're quite spicy. Consider yourself warned. My friend had the pork buns. He really liked them, but s not as good at describing food as I am. The buns were not spicy, but he said one of the garnishes inside it was. He did not consider the dish itself to be spicy, and he said he thought it tasted really good. The crispy eggplant was incredible - probably my favorite dish of the meal. The coating on the eggplant was crispy, but the eggplant itself was tender - perfectly cooked. It came on top of a delicious sesame sauce. It felt reminiscent of the Japanese "goma nasubi" dish, but with a New York twist. I loved the dish and would order it again. That said, (suggestion based on personal preference - not a criticism) it would be cool if the sauce came inside the eggplant instead of underneath. Cutting the eggplant would let it cool down faster, and the sauce being on the inside would make eating it a different experience. The ramen itself is not your traditional Japanese ramen - but I really enjoyed it nonetheless. The chef mixes rye flour into the noodles, giving it an interesting texture. The noodles come firm at first, but soften up as they sit in the broth. They don't feel particularly springy, but are still a delight to eat. The broth itself was probably the best ramen broth I have tasted in my life - the umami was strong, but the broth did not leave you dying of thirst after having it. I also really appreciated the grilled tomato - it was something different - it tasted almost Italian. It's apparent that although this restaurant is a ramen spot, and celebrates the 20 years Ivan spent living in Japan, the restaurant does not purport to be 100% traditionally Japanese. Instead, while being firmly rooted in proper Japanese cuisine, I appreciate how each dish also brings in an element of Ivan's New York heritage. For example, while the Kyuri is a traditional Japanese appetizer, the pickles were more akin to NY deli pickles, and while the ramen looks traditional to the ye, the noodles contain rye flour - a testament to Ivan's background (I learned the rye part from the Chef's table episode). The food is delicious, and each dish tells a story. It's creative and delicious, and I plan on coming back. I docked a star because although the service was good, it did feel a bit rushed at times. OUTSTANDING!!! My husband and I were in NYC for Christmas and we had time to kill before heading to the airport. A friend of ours recommended this spot for great ramen. We decided what the heck let's give it a go and my only regret is that we didn't try it sooner, as we would have been repeat customers for sure. The restaurant itself is very well lit, clean and cozy. It was freezing outside, but this space has an enclosed patio with heaters so we decided to sit there. Their menu is very attractive with lots of options for everyone and prices that will not break the bank. We had the spicy pickles to start (drool worthy) and for our mains, I chose the Spicy Miso Ramen and my husband chose the Vegan Shoyu. The spicy ramen is NOT for the faint of heart when it comes to spice. I love spicy food so it was right up my alley. The spice was perfectly balanced with the other flavors in the dish which created a very flavorful broth with a kick. Exactly what I was looking for when I needed a hug on a cold winter day. Just perfect! My husband's Vegan Shoyu was INCREDIBLE. The depth of flavor in that bowl was mind blowing. I don't know what the base of that broth was, but the silky texture, next to that beautiful tofu was so dang good. We have been home now for a month and I am still thinking about this spot. The highlight of our dining experiences for sure. The owner has his back story on their website and as a woman who grew up with a Japanese grandmother in the kitchen, I can taste his love for Japan through his food. One of my new favorite spots. The Chicken Paitan was truly one of the best things I've eaten, and the Tokyo Shyo was really excellent as well. One of the best things there was the service, though. We sat at the bar, and the bartender/server was incredibly friendly, and informative with helping us pick the items that matched our style. He also was kind enough to let us taste various sakes, and was overall a blast to have as part of our experience. Will for sure be back! read more
For years, I've been wanting to go to this ramen shop ever since I watched the chefs table episode for Ivan, AND I FINALLY GOT TO TRY IT. First off, thank you to the staff for being able to squeeze us in without a reservation. They were fully booked, but they told us if we could finish our food within 45 mins, we could go. Ivan has always said, ramen should be eaten fast, and boy, did I LMAO. I ate it fast not because I had to, but because I wanted to. Beat shio ramen I've had. The infamous roasted tomato was one of the best bites in the bowl. Will go back next time I'm in NY read more

Went here to celebrate a birthday and found the ramen to be delicious and super unique! Note that it is definitely very very RICH and HEAVY so you'll be leaving feeling like you definitely ate a big meal. I got the Chicken Paitan which I was so curious about, seeing as I usually opt for pork belly/cha shu for my ramen, but it was such a unique and delicious flavor that I loved it! Not pictured, but I also got the karaage (pretty standard and good) as well as the soy garlic chicken appetizer (reminiscent of Bonchon so if you like that go ahead). Solid place! read more
We had a lovely dinner at Ivan Ramen yesterday. The bartender (brunette with bleached eyebrows) at the counter was a delight, she gave us recommendations and provided great service. We ordered: * Crispy Eggplant ($13) * Yuzu Lemonade ($4) * Ivan Palmer ($4) * Tonkotsu Ramen ($19) * Tokyo Shio Ramen (18) We spent a total of $63.16 - a little pricy but the food was delicious. The fried eggplants had a delicate crispy breading on the outside and had a silk like consistency on the inside. The drinks were tart and refreshing -- some might say they're not sweet at all compared to traditional lemonade and Arnold Palmers. The unsweetened barley tea is very prominent in the Ivan Palmer even when you mix it together but it was very good. It was a nice palate cleanser to cut through the richness of the ramen. I LOVED the broth of the Tonkotsu ramen. It is jam packed flavorful with tender pork and bits of mushroom. Tokyo Shio ramen had a very deep yet "clean" tasting broth. The tomato was a nice umami bomb which is an unusual topping but totally worked. Both bowls didn't look like a lot of food but we left feeling stuffed. The only thing we weren't too crazy about was their noodles. They were a bit lackluster and wished they were wavier for texture. Also they only have one dessert on their menu which is their Yuzu Cheesecake. But overall we had satisfying dinner. read more
Stopped into Ivan Ramen on a Thursday evening for dinner with a reservation. They require your whole party to be present before seating you, but we were seated immediately when everyone was there. They seemed to have plenty of availability for walk ins at the time as well. As a big fan of spicy food, I decided to go with the spicy ramen. In addition to a warning on the menu, the waitress cautioned me that it would be extremely spicy. The food came out very quickly. However, to my disappointment, it was not very spicy at all. It still had a very good flavor though and the toppings were fresh. We also decided to try their made in-house yuzu lemonade. The flavor packed a punch with strong sweet notes and a sour aftertaste. The two paired together really well making it quite tasty. I would recommend giving it a try. All in all, this is a pretty good ramen spot, but I probably would only come back if I was already in the area. read more

I believe they one item with no egg and sauce but yes to soy sauce. But I wouldn't risk it I guess if it's severe issue.

Yes, they would fit on the patio. I would not recommend in the restaurant as it is quite small/narrow.
